Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - Complete Care Extra Moisturizing 4-IN-1 Treatment
yvonne89 3/9/2010 7:06:00 PM
At first I hated it - I used it as a top coat and it took forever to dry. Even after it dried, it left a dull cast on my nails. Worse still, I didn't notice any improvement in my nail conditions. But after switching to using it as a base coat instead, my nails are now much stronger with much less frequent chipping, peeling or breaking. I actually do quite like it now!

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat

HG nail product! I could never ever achieve perfect manicure as I always manage to somehow smudge the colour before it dries. Not with this anymore! It dries completely in minutes and gives nails a long lasting glossy look - which I loveeee. Have gotten nothing but compliments on my nails after using this, and it makes changing nail colour a breeze! Will never do my nails without this stuff.

Mascara -Lancome - Courbe Virtuose Mascara (Divine Lasting Curves)
yvonne89 10/27/2009 10:27:00 PM
I absolutely love this mascara - full and long lashes with minimal clumping, smudging and fuss. So easy to wear, I just brush 2 coats on and my lashes look so much longer and fuller. However, like the other posters, it does tend to dry up very easily, but I think I can live with it. I've had mine for close to 2 months and it still works fairly well so I'm happy! Also I discovered although it's a great mascara on its own, it doesn't layer very well. Tried layering it with a mascara for volume but it just got really clumpy and all.

Mascara -Maybelline - XXL Waterproof Mascara

Although the primer did do a good job at lengthening the lashes, it was quite difficult to go over the white especially with only one or two coats of the mascara. Also, the mascara was more on the clumpy side and didn't give me the natural full lush lashes that I wanted. It's good for people wanting length though.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Telescopic Explosion
yvonne89 10/27/2009 10:18:00 PM
Despite all the negative reviews, this mascara actually worked really well for me. I agree with the poster below, the clumping is due to the mascara on the wand, and not on the spikey ball. Once I cleaned that out, I got gorgeous lengthened, sightly curled and well defined lashes. Even with 2 coats, my lashes still looked clean and natural without excessive clumping, flaking or smudging. The spikey ball also managed to really catch every single lash, down to the tiniest one at the edge of my eye. Trick really s to make sure the wand is mascara free and to go light but build up with layers.

Liquid -Max Factor - Second Skin
yvonne89 10/26/2009 10:48:00 AM
Really liked this foundation - it gave such a natural sheer coverage which was exactly what I wanted after all the thick matt foundation I've been using. My skin has improved dramatically recently, and I find that I don't need something with such heavy coverage, so this is perfect for me. However, definitely not suitable for anyone who needs something with more coverage as it's not very buildable and doesn't exact hide blemishes or pores. It feels almost like tinted moisturizer in terms of texture and effect, just something to even the skin out and give it a healthy sheer dewy finish. Good if you have good/decent skin and don't mind going with very light make up.

Liquid -Maybelline - Dream Liquid Mousse
yvonne89 10/25/2009 9:26:00 PM
I think the problem lies with me applying this with fingers making it almost impossible to achieve a smooth, satin, air-brushed finish. Looking at the other reviews below, I think a sponge is perhaps much better for that effect. I do agree that it's very light-weight, gives buildable coverage and has a very nice fit for a colouring. However I find it a little too 'liquid', causing streaks when I brush it on my face with my fingers. Won't buy it again though cause there are definitely better foundations around.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Perversion Matte

This is a really great product for my asian skintone. It's very pigmented, has a nice soft but rich black to it unlike some of the other blacks I've tried which either ended up looking too harsh or too weak. It's also really easy to blend and use. Sometimes I use this as a liner when I'm lazy with my liquid liner, I just use a mac eyeshadow brush and swipe some on in the crease and I'm ready to go.

Moisturizers -Aubrey Organics - Rosa Mosqueta Rose Hip Moisturizing Cream
yvonne89 10/25/2009 6:31:00 PM
Initially, I thought this would be too rich on my combination skin as it's meant for dry skin but since I had a sample of this, I might as well try it and my skin took really well to it! The texture was rich was my skin absorbed it quickly and was left feeling soft and velvety. Though I'd have liked it to be more matt, I think the dewy velvety texture it left my skin in was a nice change as well. Really like that it's 100% natural ingredients too, just made it feel a lot better putting it on your skin. [edit] After using it for a few days, think it's starting to congest my pores. Not knocking any lippies off though cause I guess its my fault for using such a rich cream in the first place [/edit]

Other -Liz Earle - Liz Earle Muslin Cloths
yvonne89 10/25/2009 6:28:00 PM
Love it love it, once I started using this - and mind, with my normal drugstore cleaner - my skin became so much softer and smoother and my skincare products just got absorbed by my skin so much better. It's really easy to use too, though I don't like how the make-up stains are really difficult to get off. So I'd suggest removing your makeup thoroughly before using this to wash your face.

Mascara -Lancome - Courbe Virtuose (Divine Lasting Curves)
yvonne89 10/25/2009 6:26:00 PM
My HG mascara in a heartbeat - the only thing I've tried that gives me long, curled, defined, separated and clean lashes. Nothing else ever comes close to how it fans out my lashes and really make them pop. Love it that it comes off really easily when a simple make-up remover as well. Only thing is that it dries fairly quickly and starts to flake after a while. But for me, it's still tolerable.

Lotions/ Creams -Kiehls - Creme de Corps
yvonne89 10/25/2009 6:24:00 PM
Got this as a GWP in a small bottle and it's actually a really nice body lotion, it leaves my skin soft and smooth without greasiness or leaving a thin film. I think mine comes with a slight scent which takes a little getting used to, but it's not too bad I reckon.

Masks -Kiehls - Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque
yvonne89 10/25/2009 6:21:00 PM
The jar is huge, I'll probably never finish using this stuff. That said, it's a pretty good deep cleansing and detoxifying mask. I've used it and found my skin to be clearer and cleaner, but not dramatically so. It worked like magic on my boyfriend though, really sucking the impurities out and leaving his pores clean, but the downside was it stung his skin and he had to wash it off after 10 seconds, and even then his skin was a bit red and irritated. I guess this is one of those products that really reacts different for everyone.

Toners -Kiehls - Rare Earth Pore Refining Tonic
yvonne89 10/25/2009 6:19:00 PM
I like it generally as a toner - not too harsh on the skin, not too drying but manages to keep my skin relatively oil free and closes up the pores slightly. But I don't think it lives up to its name or does anything dramatic to your pores. It's a decent toner, but definitely too over-priced. If your skin can tolerate alcohol, avon pore-fection toner might be a cheaper alternative.

Lip Treatments -Kiehls - Lip Balm #1
yvonne89 10/25/2009 6:14:00 PM
I think this is one of those things where either you love it or hate it - I hated it. The texture was too thick for me and went to feeling really greasy and my lips felt like they were coated in layers of wax without anything really sinking in.
