Eye Shadow -Revlon - Matte Eyeshadow Aubergine

Perfection. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the bad reviews! What?? After reading about it in British Vogue or something like that, I had to get it- it looked so pretty. On the model in the picture, it was a smoky grey color so I wasn't expecting it to look purple when it's applied, although the eyeshadow itself looks purple in the packaging. It was so refreshing to wear a MATTE color after wearing easy shimmery ones for so long. You can go very chic with this eyeshadow- I like to wear just this eyeshadow and some mascara and it's instantly chic. I can't say the same for other eyeshadows- a must for a makeup-ista recessionista.

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Strong Nails

After taking off my acrylics, I was devastated. My nails were thin as nothing and weak. I didn't have the heart to invest $18 for the OPI one so I decided to buy this instead. After wearing it for a couple months (reapplying 2-3 coats as a base every week or so) my nails are noticeably stronger! I am impressed! My nails used to like... shred off in little pieces. And I am able to grow them longer! It has a medium shine when worn alone and I like my nails like that too.

Powder -Shiseido - Perfect Smoothing Compact Foundation SPF 15
yslplease 7/3/2009 2:47:00 AM
It looked so perfect when I was sitting at the Nordstrom Shiseido stool... So I was sold. I wore it a couple of times and I realized 1) It's too dark for me, it makes me very orange. HOWEVER I20 is probably my shade, they just produce the thing too orange-y. 2) It makes me break out. I thought it was the sponge, so I tried using a brand new sponge and I still broke out. I used a brush, and the powder flew everywhere and I broke out. I really like the packaging and the coverage but I just can't wear it anymore. I wasted about $40 since the powder and the case is sold separately. UGH!

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Glossimer in Wild Rose (119)

I never thought I could pull off any of the shades for Glossimer- But when I got my first paycheck from my recent job, I wanted to splurge myself and took myself to the Chanel counter. It was displayed along with the collection so I tried it. Wow! It looked too dark for me since I am only used to wearing light colors but when I applied it, it was really pretty! Perrrrrfect shade that is universally flattering.

Liquid -Cover Girl - Clean Makeup Fragrance Free [DISCONTINUED]
yslplease 6/26/2009 1:01:00 AM
Medium coverage foundation that doesn't make me break out! I really like it. It does its job. There's no need to pay $42 for high-end brand foundation. Because the price is so affordable, I buy two colors and mix the two to match my skin color at the time of application (I tan easily). The only downside is the packaging; it's open mouthed so you can contaminate it really easily. I just pour it out on the back of my hand, which isn't the most convenient thing, but it works.

Shampoo -Oscar Blandi - Pronto Dry Shampoo Spray
yslplease 6/26/2009 12:56:00 AM
I SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE I SPENT $25 ON IT. I bought it from Sephora since I liked its smell the best out of all the other alternatives. On my second day of using it, I sprayed it in my hair and heard a little fizzing from the spray. It was LEAKING but it could not be stopped! It went empty on the third day. Since I had tossed the receipt, I called Oscar Blandi. Um... they have an ANSWERING MACHINE for a customer service line. I left a message and I got a phone call back after 5 days. The representative says she's been busy since she's the only person handling the emails AND the phone calls. She goes on to say she's "familiar" with the situation and she'll send me a new one and she'll even add on the travel sized version of their bottled dry shampoo. OK. I got the shipment today. I've been needing it, I've been waiting for it so I gave it a go. WTF WTF WTF. After the first spray, I heard THE FIZZ. Oh, I was so mad! This is really unacceptable. How can such a big-shot company be continuing to sell something as shitious as this? Shouldn't they have like a recall? It seems like 98% of them are defects! I am really disappointed and I will not buy ANYTHING from Oscar Blandi. NEVER!

Top/Base Coats -Orly - Glosser
yslplease 6/3/2009 2:26:00 AM
Does the company Orly know what "Gloss" MEANS??? I can't believe I spent like 8 dollars on this. The lady at the boutique said this is the glossiest top coat they had and umm... it's not glossy. It gives a little bit of a shine but that's all. Even if I apply 2 or more coats. I was VERY disappointed. Was my bottle sabotaged? Because everyone else seems to think it's really glossy. I really regret not getting the OPI one.

Eyeliner -MAC - Tarnish Eye Kohl
yslplease 6/3/2009 2:21:00 AM
GREATTT COLOR! I don't like to stray away from black with my eyeliners so this is perfect. The deep green is very subtle but is SO much prettier than harsher blacks and grays on my asian dark brown eyes. I have really really oily lids so I've been using gel liners but this doesn't smudge too much on me(very minimally, which it should since it's a kohl) and it stays put. It does not fade! I never wanted to recommend a beauty product so much !! And the price is a lot better than trying to get the comparable green eyeliners from estee lauder or lancome.
