Palettes -Sleek - Storm Palette
rated 5 of 5
youngbeauty26 4/11/2013 7:37:00 AM

I've had the Storm palette (as well as the Original and V2 palettes) for almost a year now and to be honest, I haven't felt the need to purchase any high-end ones like MAC or Inglot. (Although I am saving for a little Inglot Freedom System palette!) Makeup is so expensive in Australia and so to get an amazing palette like this at $10 (plus a few dollars shipping) is just awesome! The pigmentation, texture and longevity of these shadows are soo good! Eyeshadows always crease on my because of my hooded and oily lids, but with a primer, the Sleek palettes last a good 8 hours with very minimal creasing! If you want to see a bit more of an in-depth review and swatches of all three palettes I own, check out my blog post! http://shangrilabeauty.blogspot.com.au/2013/04/sleek-makeup-eyeshadow-palettes.html

Eye Shadow -Chi Chi - Glamorous Eyeshadow - Nudes
rated 5 of 5

I bought this palette recently from Target for $15AUD as it was on sale. I have been wanting the UD Naked palette but am trying really hard to save! Chi Chi is an Australia cosmetics brand, I believe and the Glamorous Nudes palette is said to be a really good dupe for the renowned Naked palette. The packaging is a durable plastic. It's quite compact and lightweight. I like the fact that it has a clear lid so I can see all the shadows. No mirror, but that doesn't bother my as I hardly ever go travelling and even when I do, there's usually a mirror somewhere! I believe you pretty much get the same amount of eyeshadow as the UD Naked. It comes with two sponge applicators but I just threw them out as they're useless compared to my MAC and Sigma brushes. I must say that the pigmentation, texture and lasting power of these are amazing! They lasted a good 10 hours over a primer and I didn't notice creasing at all when I went to take my makeup off at the end of the day. Polishes -Milani - One Coat Glitter - Silver Dazzle
rated 5 of 5

By far the most amazing nail polish I own!!! I read so many rave reviews about it so decided to give it a try. I bought it off cherryculture.com for $3.99 and as soon as it arrived, I tried it on one nail and was literally squealing with excitement at how awesome the colour was!! You could definitely get away with one coat, but I would recommend two. I looove how it dries matte and gritty! But on my toenails, I put 2 layers of top coat. (Still looks amazing with a high shine top coat) Like everyone else has said, it's not super difficult to remove considering the glittery-ness of it! Now I want to buy every colour!!!

Lip Treatments -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dr. Feelgood Lipscription [DISCONTINUED]

I think I got sucked into the cute packaging and by the really good salesperson... :( The lip buffing beads are okay. It takes quite a bit of rubbing to get all the flakeys off my lips. The lipgloss is okay. Has a slight scent of apples I think. I only need to squeeze super lightly to get enough product on my lips. And I quite like the fact that it's slightly hard when it comes out of the tube and then melts on my lips. Overall, way way wayy too expensive for an exfoliator and lip balm that isn't that crash hot.

Conditioner -TiGi - Bed Head Urban Antidotes Level 2 Recovery

I am head over heels in love with this conditioner (and shampoo). I have looong thin hair that's oily at the roots and super dry and damaged at the ends. I picked this up on sale on asos.com and it's the best decision I've ever made. It does take a few washes to kick in but once it does, you hair will feel so soft and look so shiny and smell delicious (vanillary/coconuty?? the smell is hard to explain). I wash my hair with the shampoo and then squeeze out excess water in my hair and use about a large grape size amount of conditioner and put it in, concentrating on the ends and never putting it in my roots. Then I sorta clip it up with a big clip and leave it in for about 5min while I wash my body, etc. Then I rinse it out, leave my hair to air dry and vola! The packaging is so gorgeous and easy to use (i got the smaller squeeze tubes). It's a little on the expensive-ish side (if you're a uni student like me!) but when it's on sale, it's a great buy! Will be repurchasing forever!

Shampoo -TiGi - Bed Head Urban Antidotes Recovery Shampoo (Level 2)

I LOOOOVE this stuff! I have loong hair thats oily at the roots and my ends are so dry and damaged. I read the glowing reviews on MUA and decided to give it a try! & Oh my goodness, after a few washes my hair is now soft, smells absolutely gorgeous (in the bottle it sorta smells grapefruity/vanilla/coconuty but when its in my hair I can't really describe it, it smells different, but even nicer??) and my damaged ends seem to have disappeared! It also lathers up really nicely (I use about a large grape size amount). Finally, I've found a shampoo that does what it claims!! The packaging is so nice as well! I got the smaller squeeze bottles (conditioner is a few mL smaller than shampoo) but I think I'll get the pump bottles next time & I'll be repurchasing forever!

Styling Products -Toni & Guy - Beach Curl Spray
rated 3 of 5
youngbeauty26 6/6/2011 2:46:00 PM

I've read some reviews that have said this product smells really bad but I didnt think so at all. I loved the smell! And at first, i also liked the texture and extra wave it gave me as I already have kinda wavy hair. But after a few weeks of using it, (because my hair is pretty damaged at the ends) my ends seemed soooo much drier and my split ends were really noticable. Also, it made my hair knot really really easily and didn't make my hair feel nice at all, it kinda felt like i had a s***load of hairspray all through my hair. Maybe for people with healthier hair, it would work better.

Mascara -Rimmel - Glam Eyes Waterproof mascara
rated 2 of 5
youngbeauty26 6/6/2011 2:38:00 PM

This was one of my very first mascaras and it's was so crap! I HATE the brush!!!! It does absolutely nothing and is so difficult to build up and do 2 or 3 coats, it doesn't 'comb' through your lashes nicely at all. Plus it was really hard to get off, even with a pretty good makeup remover. It turned me off waterproof mascaras.

Treatments (Eye) -Nivea - Aqua Sensation Eye Cream
rated 3 of 5
youngbeauty26 6/6/2011 2:32:00 PM

I quite like this product. Although I don't think it really reduces dark circles, I can definitely feel the soothing effect when my eyes are puffy/sore from staying up late or crying all night. lol. I bought the jar maybe 1 year ago and there is still pretty much 3/4 left (mind you, i havent been using it everyday until just recently) but you seriously only need the tiniest amount, so it lasts you a really long time. I really like the consistency as it's really creamy/gel like. I think it's a good little product to have for people who just want a basic moisturiser for around the eye.

Liquid -Calvin Klein - Infinite Matte Oil Free Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
youngbeauty26 6/6/2011 2:23:00 PM

I absolutely love this foundation! It blends really well with a foundation brush or even my fingers (since i've lost my brush) and gives maybe a medium coverage but it's pretty buildable. the colour matches me like almost perfectly and i don't use powder during the day as it has a really nice natural finish that isn't completely matte but isn't shiny/dewy either. it lasts pretty long as well, depending on what im doing that day. plus, i think the packaging is quite nice and i like it how it's a pump.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
rated 4 of 5
youngbeauty26 6/6/2011 2:15:00 PM

I've been using this mascara for a while now and have to say it's worked pretty well for me. I have really long lashes to begin with and am only after volume. after about 2 or 3 coats, my lashes look volumious, but i do have to take care to make sure it doesn't clump too much. overall it's the best mascara i've used, but im thinking of trying the new one by one mascara next.
