Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Straight Blow Dry
yelloworange 12/28/2012 2:43:00 AM
I recently bought a travel sized version of this in Sephora for a short trip to Vegas. I have fine wavy/curly hair that tends to frizz. This is as close to a HG product that I have come across. I have read some reviews on Sephora and a couple of people were right when they say the name of this product is kind of misleading. It doesn't exactly straighten but it smooths out my hair fantastic. It's really great for smoothing down fly-aways and gives my hair shine and body. I've experimented with amount (I have it down to a pea size on damp hair and then 1/2 that for finishing). My hair just touches my shoulders and when I used more I could feel it coating my hair a little too much but the amazing thing is it still looked good. It has the consistency of a balm, kind of like Fekkai Glossing cream but a little thicker. I'm so glad I found this. I feel like it will help me grow my hair out easier and keep my hair looking healthy. I'm psyched to move on to other Bumble products. Next I will try the Does It All Styling Spray. Yea!

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter
yelloworange 10/27/2011 1:35:00 AM
After reading the reviews for this new lippy I remained sceptical. But I went to Walgreens today and purchased the Berry Smoothie color. I tend to love these lipstick/balm hybrids. I have to say I loved it. The color was great for my fairer warm skin, its MLBut....much better! Just the right amount of color and very moisturizing. A light plummy sheerish mauvey slightly irridesent deeper pink. Ha Ha! It wears off evenly and leaves a nice stain. The price isn't too bad compared to high end. I will purchase more colors in the future.

Liquid -MAC - Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation
yelloworange 10/4/2011 2:44:00 AM
Matchmaster isn't all that. But it's pretty good. I think the colors are basically pinks and yellows mixed. So some pink toned girls think it's too yellow and the yellow toned think it's too pink. Its not a perfect match like they say but there is some truth to the translucency part that lets it blend into various skin tones. At first I thought it was too pink but it blended into my skin well. It has what I would call a luminous matte finish, almost powdery but light. I'm oily and I don't feel the need to powder, in fact that makes it look cakey. It wears pretty well, on me 5 to 6 hours tops. I do find I have to spend a lot of time blending and building to get it to cover around my nose and red marks. Packaging is excellent. It's a pump that you can open and close. I might buy it again. Update: Well I had purchased the 1.5 (I'm an NC 20 yellow undertones) and after a couple of weeks of wear I'm sure it's a little too pink/orange. So I went to Mac and got a 1.0 sample and it's too light. Sooo, not a masterful match for me. Isn't that the point.

Conditioner -Aveda - Damage Remedy Restructuring Conditioner
yelloworange 8/20/2011 2:46:00 AM
This is one of the best conditioners I have ever used. I have fine wavy/curly hair that easily blow dries strait. Plus, I color every 6 to 8 weeks. I can't use it every day because it will build up. Once a week works for me and that usually is my best hair day of that week! The downside is that it is expensive. Especially for the small amount. Right now I am using Pureology's new platinum haircare shampoo and conditioner on the days I don't use Aveda. Its all working for me. And by the way, it's very moisturizing.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - They're Real
yelloworange 8/15/2011 1:08:00 AM
My two cents.....it thickens well but added no length, at least not in comparison to most. Unimpressed. I get better volume and length from Clinique Lash Double and thats not saying much.

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Idole Fresh Wear
yelloworange 8/12/2010 11:45:00 PM
Update: This would be the hands down, search over foundation for me. Except it has so much darn alcohol in it. One of the worst things for your skin. If I wear it 3 days in a row my skin becomes very irritated. It really bums me out because it has the perfect consistency and coverage for my oily, fine lined skin. Found my match in buff2w.I use it with Estee"s Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator as a primer and it blends easy and looks perfect. Lancome please take the alcohol out! I got a sample from a local Macy's 2 days ago. I was matched to 4N which turned out to be pretty close for my fair/med skintone. Not perfect but a good combo of pink and yellow. So far I'm loving it and plan on buying a tube ASAP!. It glides on with the damp sponge that I stipple into my skin. It feels light and it's highly pigmented. It stayed on all day and still looked fresh. I did have to blot my oily skin once or twice but like others have said "no transfer" Very excited to find this.

Mascara -Bourjois - Volume Glamour Mascara
yelloworange 3/18/2010 11:10:00 PM
This will work well for you if you already have long lashes and want volume that feels soft. But the rest of us will just get some natural volume. No length at all. I have used many volumizing mascaras that were sooo much better. Clinique's lash doubling mascara gives me volume and length at about the same price point. Not worth it.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes
yelloworange 2/10/2009 1:58:00 AM
These towelettes are great. They remove the most stubborn makeup easily and gently. I use them to take off makeup then I cleanse with Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash. I can use them on my eyes with no stinging. I have oily but sensitive skin so I need the additional cleanser to get real clean but for dryer skin I think you could get away with just the towelettes alone. I tried the Target brand knock-offs. Not even close. I couldn't wait to use them up so I could get back to these. I have bought for the past 3 years. HG.

Cleansers -Purpose - Gentle Cleansing Wash
yelloworange 2/9/2009 5:22:00 PM
I have very oily skin and this is my go-to cleanser. I have bought this repeatedly for the last 3 years. I'm so glad I discovered it! It doesn't make my face feel dry or taut and it has a lovely light herbal smell. My routine is; Use Neutrogena makeup remover cloths first then cleanse with this then moisturize with Neutrogena's Oil Free Fresh Moisture. It leaves me with fresh, perfectly balanced matte skin. I use various BHA products throughout the week to exfoliate, and eye cream. I remember trying Clinique's Mild facial soap and it sucked the moisture out of my skin and I'm oily. Still love most Clinique. Anyway, the only con about this stuff is that they don't make it in bigger sizes. It usually cost's about $5 bucks a pop and I go through pretty fast. I think it's a great gentle cleanse for those with oily/combo skin, IMHO.

Liquid -Revlon - SPA Age Defying Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
yelloworange 1/29/2009 4:58:00 PM
Well there are many pros and cons to this formula. First off, personally I hate the brush. It's stiff and it squirts out unevenly and trying to pull the cap off without getting any to squirt out is hard. It's the opposite of the Beyond Natural foundation that starts off white then changes to your skin color. This one starts off darker and gets lighter as you apply it. So if a color looks too dark at first don't be alarmed because it significantly lightens once applied. I use the Light on my fair with yellow undertones skin. Matches just fine. Oh, and I'm oily and this does a decent job of staying fresh looking and no breakouts at all. The good part about this stuff is that it makes you look luminous without any shimmer or glitter aspect. Unlike some reviewers I found it to be a good coverage light makeup, definitely more coverage than any tinted moisturizer I have ever tried. It leaves a matte feeling that doesn't look matte, if that makes sense. This is fantastic stuff for making me look younger and more glowy without any greasiness. If you can get past the packaging I highly recommend this makeup!

Lipstick -Clinique - High Impact Lip Colour SPF 15 - Honey Blush
yelloworange 1/11/2009 1:33:00 AM
This lipstick is perfection. I would describe it as a warm honeyed pink/nude. It has no frostiness or shimmer but a light gleam like slight shimmer. Just enough to give you a volumized lip look, perfect for day to day wear. Creamy feel that has great staying power. Its a my lips but better and then a little bit more!

Lipstick -LORAC - Lotsa Lip in Kissin
yelloworange 4/1/2008 7:08:00 PM
This is a fantastic lipstick. It is not frosty anymore than the majority of Clinique lipsticks are. It is a sheer warm rose with a subtle shimmer. It is my HG and I reach for it daily. It softly plumps my lips (no burning) it really does make them look a little fuller. I like that it's pigmented but sheer at the same time. Feels super light textured on and does not dry my lips out. The Lorac rep told me that this was the most popular of the Losta Lip collection.

Hair Color -Clairol - Nice 'n Easy Perfect 10
yelloworange 2/12/2008 1:52:00 AM
One package was not enough for my barely shoulder length hair. I used medium blonde on my 30% grey medium to dark golden blonde hair. The color was pretty good but seemed to lift lighter than expected. No brassiness. The biggest caveat was that after 12 min on my hair it barely covered any grey. So, because that was mostly the point I won't buy again.

Styling Products -Nexxus - SleekStyle Calming Smoothing Creme
yelloworange 9/13/2007 1:57:00 AM
I have fine hair with medium density that is very wavy. I would also say that it is kind of poofy in a floaty frizz prone way. It feels very light. I have naturally med blonde hair that I have highlighted to break up color and add interest. This damage adds to the poofy quality:) I use less than a pea size amount on my wet chin length choppy bob...then I blow dry it smooth with a round brush and finish the ends with my CHI flat iron. Then I run through my dried hair with another small pea size amount to calm down my frizzies and add more shine. I find that my hair needs some weight to it and this stuff fills in the porosity and fixes all my other previously stated issues. Not bad at all. Just don't over do it.

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Mascara
yelloworange 9/11/2007 12:55:00 PM
This is one of my fav mascaras. It thickens my lashes but what is really great is that it separates and lengthens really well at the same time. I get NO clumping at all. The black has a good inky blackness. A great reliable mascara that gives a little lash drama. Update: Still loving this. I have tried the newest Estee Lauder, Max Factor and Lancome formulas and this one still wins. It makes my lashes really look thick but in a natural way. It lengthens great! I never get any smudging.
