Liquid -Yves Saint Laurent - TEINT RESIST Long Wear Transfer Resistant Foundation
yellowbouquet 5/11/2010 1:54:00 AM
Oh hell no. This broke me out like no tomorrow. This smells like roses which I loved.. one of the best smelling foundations ever. It was pricey too but I shelled out the money hoping I would find my HG. The coverage was meh and the finish was sticky. Two hours later I had a meltdown on my face... yuck yuck. The packaging is soooooo boring.. I mean c'mon Yves Saint Laurent... I love your products but this foundation is a no no...if you're going to make someone buy your foundation at least make the bottle pretty. Beyond plain and boring.. just not right. DO NOT GET THIS, IT WILL BREAK YOU OUT OVER NIGHT.. SERIOUSLY.

Moisturizers -Cerave - Moisturizing Lotion

Omg I dont know how anyone can like this ... the smell is horrible and lingers on for as long as u have it on. As for moisturizing properties.. this did nothing for my skin. I would apply this at night and look like an oil slick even when I wake up my skin was uneven and not clean looking. This never happend to my past night lotions. It is also not good under makeup, makes ur makeup slide off right away and oilies break through in about an hour. I suggest u keeping the receipt to see if u like it or not. I bought this based on the reviews but wished i kept my 11 bucks and invested in my hg mary kays time wise moisturizer. It's awsome, check that out if this doesnt work for you.

Foundations -Sally Hansen - Inspired By Carmindy Natural Beauty Your Skin Makeup ] [DISCONTINUED]
yellowbouquet 4/27/2008 10:50:00 PM
Went to my nearest Ulta and was ecstatic when I saw this! This is one product you should really try. I got nude beige and it matched my NC30 fairly well. If you happen to pick one too light on you.. just dust over a little loose powder + bronzer and you got an awsome blend. This really lives up to it's name.. "your skin" makeup, cos it looks just like my skin, but better. Doesn't cover all my acne scars *flawlessly* and the texture is thicker than I would like it, I could even compare it to shiseido's the makeup foundation. It's almost the same consistency and quality is nearly identical. However, carmindy is 1/3 the price! How great is that? Here are some tips I've tried for those who wants sheer, medium, or full coverage. Sheer: Apply with fingertips over moisturized skin. Get a damp sponge and slightly pat down your makeup.. this will ensure the "no makeup" look and removes excess foundation that may be too heavy for some. The result is perfect yet sheer. Medium-Full: Same steps as above, but instead of using your fingers, I'd recommend a foundation brush. I use one from beauty of essence foundation brush, I find it applies the foundation evenly over your face and it's easy to layer if you want a heavier coverage. Just keep on going over the places you need to cover ie. acne scars, blemishes, freckles, etc. I found that this works great for under eye circles as well. No need for concealer. So far, I am happy with this because it doesnt look like im wearing a ton of makeup. I was lucky enough to find a color that matches, but perhaps for some it'd be best to buy two bottles and mix it (if the store has BOGO) otherwise, it's great! 100% paraben free too. Fragrance is not overwhelming and no chemically smell either. Will update if this breaks me out!

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 15 Normal/Dry Skin
yellowbouquet 4/25/2008 6:28:00 PM
I have terrible mixed feelings about this product. The reviews here are mainly to blame! lol.. some people say this provides FLAWLESS coverage, i think that's a little too exaggerated and therefore I was disappointed with the outcome. I have combination skin but bought this in the normal/dry formula instead because I don't like using a moisturizer underneath my makeup. It just makes it slip and slide so much easier. I put this on with a sponge and the wear is natural and comfortable for the most part. The coverage.... 6/10. Sure it provides decent covering up one the red marks and acne scars.. but does not even out my skin tone WHATSOEVER. Even I was appalled when I removed my makeup at night and realized that my skin was actually smoother and better looking than when I had CS on. Tsk..tsk..tsk. This makeup is a bust for me. Maybe good for those who want slight coverage and already have even skin tone. I really wanted to like it.. really! But it just didn't work for me.. if anyone has any suggestions on how to apply this on so that my skin will have a "smoothig" affect.. please email me! Thanks

Styling Products -L'Oreal - StudioLine Mega Mousse - Mega Hold
yellowbouquet 4/23/2008 10:12:00 PM
Really gross chemically smell. I think most l'oreal products are like this because I tried the shine spray and it smells exactly like this. Gave me a headache and I couldnt want to go home and take a shower. For some reason it made my head *oilier* and I was flaking all day. No hold on my medium fine hair either.. I had pretty waves too, and by 3 or 4 it was straight. Thanks a lot l'oreal

Toners -Mario Badescu - Chamomille Cleansing Lotion
yellowbouquet 4/21/2008 8:34:00 PM
Mario Badescu's products are in no range of excellency, i know.. I have tried over 3/4's of the line over the past years and found that this toner is the thing worth investing in. It's the only product that runs out faster than any other I have on my shelf. Reasons why I like it: It's just a very basic toner, cleanses, soothes, and calms dry irritated skin. Just like it says on the bottle. Only 2 or 3 ingredients so no added irritants or anything like that. I'm not so happy about the results after using it for a month 1/2.. does basically nothing for my acne prone and erupted breakouts. Doesn't seem to take away redness or reduce inflmation which I was hoping it would do. It CAN be a bit cheaper since it's only chamomille and water.. All in all, this would do wonders for those dry or tight irritated skin due to harsh chemical treatments or cleansers. Balances out skin and makes it super smooth.

Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Mineral Face Powder
yellowbouquet 4/18/2008 10:57:00 PM
Supposed to not aggravate acne prone skin... but oh boy did this break me out in cysts! I was very excited to try this out looking for a "fresh" new look and expected wonderful results.. nope this didn't even provide enough coverage for the damage it's done. I even removed this with an oil based cleanser to really get all the gunk out of my pores and the breakouts were still emerging and developing. Deep, painful, scarring ones. =( I am very very sad and dissapointed. AND, who said they had a good color selection? ABOUT 3 or 4 yeah, thats it... greeeattt color selection huh? Creamy Natural.. was not at all creamy NOR natural. It looked faked on my NC30 skin with yellow undertones, and it made me look dirty. What the hell? It could even be used as a BRONZER maybe.. this is a no no product for me. Although I will check out their loose powders other mineral wear... the pressed one is going in the bin pronto. I also switched to CG clean makeup.. easy color match, great coverage, smooth finish, and it looks natural as well, best part is that it's 1/3 of the price!

Blush -Everyday Minerals - Daydream
yellowbouquet 4/17/2008 11:20:00 PM
Age: 17 Skin tone: NC30/35 w. pink undertones. Foundation: Currently using CG clean makeup Skin type: Acne prone/combination This blush goes on smoothly and evenly. I think it would be best to be labeled as to "contour" rather than a blush. It barely shows up.. My foundation does not dry to a matte finish but I tend to brush my blushes all over my face to give a healthy glow and not to my make cheeks look too blotchy. You dont have to worry about blotchyness about this blush.. its very hard to go wrong. No such thing as applying too much because it is very sheer. Another con is that it won't show up in pictures and because of this.. all my pics looked washed out. =/ This is perfect for a no makeup day. However, stick to no makeup if u wish to have a no makeup day cos it's just easier that way. EDM's blushes are worth a try though.. it has great staying power =)

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control
yellowbouquet 3/14/2008 12:50:00 AM
This scrub broke me out. Don't use this if you have cystic acne or pimples that get aggravated easily. I thought using this with gentle circular motions would do the trick but i was wrong. The "medicated" stuff has stuff in it.. and i quote that from my derm. I got this cos of the glowing reviews on here but it just didnt work for my skin and even made it worse. Surprisingly enough i like st. ives invigorating scrub which left my skin clean and smooth.

Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - Oil-Free Dual Action Moisturizer
yellowbouquet 1/31/2008 9:49:00 PM
I have combination skin and oily t-zone. My fave gets uber dry after washing with clean & clear makeup remover.. so I put this on. It's great for the first few days because it moisturizes well and so forth.. but i don't see any results with my acne. It even made them redder and my acne scars are even more obvious. I just don't know.. it didn't even out my skin or leaving feeling smooth or matte like some other people. Im a teen btw and this product may be too sensitive or this crap is loaded with harmful irritates like most clean & clear products are.. and to comment about swirly_whirl85... it does help to use a non medicated cleanser beforehand because it seems we both got similiar results. My acne was flamed throughout the rest of the day and sooo noticeable under my makeup. I tried this couple months back with a medicated washer before and it did the same thing. Maybe i should just use a very gentle face wash? hmm.. scared to try since i had a horrible experience with this moisturizer..

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - Long handled Kabuki
yellowbouquet 1/30/2008 8:12:00 PM
At first I was exstatic to try out this new brush. It seems fairly elegant and simple enough to use. The first few days I applied this with the original glo formula and semi matte. I thought I was applying it right when my friend pointed it out that one side of my face is uneven. Odd, so i went to touch up and all was well. IMO. This brush is very soft, quite too soft which has a downside because it doesn't apply mmu evenly. You can get one part of your face right but you can't really "buff" with this. It's way too delicate and soft for the mmu to be buffed in correctly. On days when im in a rush I wouldn't even bother touching my mmu because it takes a lot of effort and precision that it's just not worth my time. This kabuki brush doesn't make it any more convienent. So few days later I shelled out a powder brush (more dense than regular ones) it's not silky but it does the job of applying mmu evenly. I can layer it on one application after the other, while as for this kabuki I can only "smudge" in the mmu because once again it's just too mooshy! Sure this is a great quality soft bristled brush for those who isn't a fan of the "denser" ones that ime the secret to applying mmu flawlessly. Picks up just the right amount whereas before I couldn't control the amount of makeup with EM's long handed kabuki. So purchase a good dense brush with a small head that you can literally "buff" in all areas of your face, including the ears, neck, chest, etc..

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Lineur Intense
yellowbouquet 1/18/2008 7:24:00 PM
Bought this at Rite Aid at a BOGO sale and while they jacked up the price so that it wont be a huge rip off on the second item i was still excited, but sorta mad now. I mean the original price is supposed to be 7.50 but then it was marked 13.50!! I mean that doesnt even make it BOGO! I got this in carbon black which is VERY black, kind of even scary..on my NC25/pale skin.... so beware!! It applies effortlessly and I can finally do my cateye look without the fuss. Takes about 5 seconds for each eye now that ive gotten the hang of it. The handle is a bit long, but thats not the reason why i gave it 3 lippies... real reason iss.....*drumroll* This SWEATS off! Really badly. It doesn't stay put like others have claimed and by 12 o clock my eyeliner was barely even there. I then would have to re-apply but on days i forget to bring this, it would look tacky and horrible. Maybe I have extremely oily lids or what... but this has never happend in the past. I think the only way a liquid eyeliner could ever last on these pair of eyes are to waterproof ones. So that will be my next stop waterproof e/l(!).. I'll probably put this up for swap or give it to my sister and hope that it doesn't sweat off on her.

Moisturizers -Kiehls - Ultra Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15
yellowbouquet 1/15/2008 10:04:00 PM
My sister who has almost perfect skin uses this stuff. So i went out and bought some, I thought the finish would be great and result would turn out like hers... WRONG. I was woken up by huge cysts and clogged pores. It also made my makeup grease up by mid day. I tried to stick to for at least a week so i told myself, but after the 3rd day I just had to go return it. It was horrible. My sister is so darn lucky... she can use ANYTHING on her face and it'll still look great. IMO this is the worst kiehls moisturizer there for those with acne prone, oily skin, or even normal (it will make ur face oily). It is great for super super dry skin however i suppose because it has moisturizing factors. I find most of kiehl's s/s or anything that contains spf will make ur face oily. Too bad I wished this would be a great find but I guess not. 2 lippies because it worked for my sister who already has baby smooth, radiant, beautiful skin and she uses this crap daily! Its totally not fair.. oh well back to my yerba mate moisturizer =D

Moisturizers -Kiehls - Yerba Mate Tea Lotion
yellowbouquet 1/15/2008 9:54:00 PM
Woah I didnt know this was so pricey. I got generous samples of these at the kiehls store (about 5 or 6). Been about 6 1/2 weeks already and the package is STILL going strong! I love this stuff, its been moisturizing my combo/pore cloggin skin well. I only use this at night since i use a different moisturizer in the morning with spf. My My My this has made a huge difference while i sleep. No more tired skin in the morning and it made my face bright and clear. Did i already mentioned i love this stuff? I only have one package left and im already sad =( I dont think i can live without it! The price turns me off though, so just 4 lippies. If it was a bit cheaper (since im on a tight budget) maybe i'll bump it up to 5. Def worth checking out and get a few sample of these! Longer usage = better results.
