Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Morrocan Rose Body Milk

I bought the body milk version which comes in a spray bottle. The body milk is liquid so it goes on the skin very light and gets absorbed swiftly. The skin is left silky smooth with a hint of the lovely fragrance lasting for hours. I was truly surprised at how effective this is as a body moisturizer. I only use it in the warmer months though because it is not strong enough for the cold, dry days.
I like that the sugar scrub does not just melt away when contact with water, like many similar products do. The scrub is extremely effective leaving skin baby soft. The sugar particles are not particularly harsh so you don't feel like you are mistreating your skin. However, I need to use a regular bath soap to wash after the treatment, or else, I feel oily and unclean. This is definitely one of my favorite body scrubs!
There is no fancy packaging or amazing smell with this cream - it looks like your normal drug store brand and smells like clay. It makes a great day cream because it leaves skin soft without any shiny, oily residual. Also, it does not cause any pimple or whitehead. However, it could feel a bit dry if used alone in the winter months. I would put a serum before applying this cream. Overall, a simple, hassle-free everyday lotion for me. For the anti-aging and skin-brightening effect, I might have to wait till I am older to notice.

I finished one tub of capsules and I have to admit, they saved my life (skin)! I developed pimples from using Creme de la Mer. For weeks since I gave the Creme de la Mer away to my mom, I was struggling to treat the blemishes and scars left from the aftermath. Since I used the capsules, my face has cleared up and normalized within a month. The scars have faded dramatically and pores have shrunk as well. My skin is now back to its usual condition where makeup is not needed. It is very expensive as one tub will only last 30 days, but the product works wonders. While I will not be purchasing for regular use, I will not hesitate to go back to it whenever my skin is in distress again.
My husband has always used men's skincare line from Lancome, Clinique, Shiseido etc. with no particular skin problems. I convinced him to try women's stuff as I believe they work better than lines created specifically for men. So I bought him the full range of SKII products including the Facial Treatment Essence, Repair C Serum, Skin Signature Eye Cream and Skin Signature Cream. I don't use SKII products myself except for its masks, but I know long-term fans of the brand and they all have beautiful skin. Like all men, my husband is not diligent when it comes to taking care of his skin and he doesn't even put on the products religiously. He puts them on when he remembers it and in no particular order. But it has been 6 months, and his skin texture has improved so much. His 35-year old skin is poreless, bright, and smooth! Even my mom asked me what he has been doing that made his skin change so much. I am sure the reason is nothing other than the SKII regimen.
Part of my routine is to put on a facial mask every night. I use all types of masks from different brands and across all price ranges: Valmont, Sisley, Fresh, SKII, Eve Lom, Origins, Bliss, Neutrogena, My Beauty Diary, random Korean/Japanese brands... you get the point. Since I put them on every day, I really have no loyalty to a specific type or brand except this particular one. SKII Facial Treatment Mask is the only facial mask that I will always have in my beauty cabinet and a mask that I will use at least twice a week. The reason is simply because it works! I heard you can use every night for 28 nights for a total transformation. I haven't tried that yet, but every time I use it, I end up with brightened, hydrated skin. I will not stop purchasing until I find something better.
Moisturizers -La Mer - Creme de la mer moisturizer

I bought a jar for mom a few years ago and it worked extremely well for her. When I was done with my Sisley and Darphin products, I decided to try Creme De La Mer myself. I really wanted to like this product and every time I put it on for a week or so at night, I suffered from breakouts and white heads. I would then stop for a few weeks until the blemishes were gone and test again. Same thing happened. In the end, I had no choice but gave away the remaining 3/4 jar to my mom. I am still trying to get rid of the acne scar on my left cheek right now... I don't have any issue with paying high prices if the product works. I pay lots for Sisley, Darphin, Elemis, Skinceuticals... Sadly, Creme de la Mer did not work for me. I also made sure I used the correct application method. Like I said, it works wonders for my 60-year old mom who has super dry skin. And I do see radiant, brightened complexion on areas where I was not affected by pimples whenever I lather the product on. So I am sure it's a magical cream for some, just not for me.
Like the purifying balm, Darphin's renewing balm does not cause breakout even though it is oil-based. The citrus smell is refreshing. It goes on sticky but when left overnight, the skin simply soaks up the balm. You wake up with super soft and glowing skin in the morning.

I wear this alone over my sunscreen and my skin looks poreless and stays matte throughout the day. I have not tried layering foundation on top of this so I am not sure if it rubs off like other reviewers here noted. But when used alone, I find it a great alternative to tinted moisturizers and BB cream. You have to wait a bit for the product to work. After you put it on, you will feel a tingling, cooling feeling. Once that is settled, your skin will look "made up". I have yet to try the brush though because it seems so unhygienic. I only squeeze the product onto my fingers and rub it on my face directly.

Maybe I am not good with makeup, I simply don't know how to handle this supposedly magic wand. I didn't expect to use it as a concealer as I don't have the problem of dark eye circles to begin with. But as a highlighter, the product doesn't blend well onto the skin so I am left with a cluster of sparkles wherever I put this on. Instead of a natural highlight, I end up with patches of gold sparkles all over my face. I kept trying for a few times, and have finally given up.
I am on my 2nd tub now. The mask smells like clay and it may tingle a bit because of the menthol. It feels heavy-duty because it dries up like a hard mud mask but once you rinse it off, your face is left glowing and smooth. I use it once a week to clear up unwanted residue. Unlike some other deep cleansing mask, this one does not leave your skin dry and tight after use. However, my first tub got dried up when I had 1/3 in the tub. So I am trying to use my 2nd tub faster this time.
This stuff really clears up your skin without stripping. It leaves a bit of white powdery finish if you don't wash it thoroughly and the application is very messy. But it definitely works better than any deep cleansing mask I ever used. One question though: how do you apply the powder without having them fall like snow flakes as the mask dries???! I would use first put the powder onto my palm and add drops of water to create a paste, which I lather onto face. But as the maske dries out, I end up inhaling a lot of the powder and they fall all over the place!
Multiple Stick is a lot more convenient to use than the powder. I always use my fingers to apply the Orgasm powder and it can get messy. The Multiple Stick is sleek and doesn't break (all my NARS powder and eyeshadow compacts ended up shattered). The color goes on a lot more subtle than in its powder form. A great natural colored blush or highlighter.
The light grey shade is too pigmented as a highlighter but too light to be used on the creases. The dark grey is a safe color as a liner or a shadow, but I find it very boring. It is as good as any grey or black color out there.
I have olive colored Asian skin. I like the bronzed taupe shade and use it on the creases alone to create a nude look. The olive color, however, is too sheer. When worn alone, the color doesn't really come out, leaving the eyes look greyish and muddy.
