Powder -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation

You know what I hate?! When people review products and they've only used it for a couple of days or weeks. All these people rave about stuff only to change their opinion later. GIVE IT TIME, PEOPLE. I have used this mineral foundation for 8 months straight and I feel I have given it enough time to accurately review it, so here it goes... I was in love the minute I tried this foundation. My skin looked amazing and I was sure this was it for me (see, it's always good to give it time, ladies...) PROS-This mineral foundation is not too expensive and it will last forever. You don't need to apply that much and the coverage is good. It makes your skin look luminous and glowy. You can apply it in a few minutes and be out the door. CONS- It can be messy. It has ingredients that are hard on your skin. It will clog your pores. And when I say clog, I mean the kind that clay masks, pore strips, hot rags and extractor tools can't touch. So your skin will look beautiful until your pores get clogged and you have small bumps and blackheads all over your face. This foundation was OK for the winter months, but now that it's hot outside, I am going to need something different. Lesson here-If it's too good to be true, it probably is.
Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Travel Kabuki Brush

I don't get why so many people like this brush. I have had it over a year and have used it maybe 10 times, It is awful for putting on mineral foundation leaving the foundation just sitting on your face and it does a crappy job if you try to buff it in. I actually prefer to use the brush on the L'oreal mineral foundation, which is a below average brush at best. I would not recommend this-especially for the price.
This is a great dry shampoo. I use it in the Blush scent and I like it very much. I purchased mine at Ulta and the Associate was trying to get me to buy a powder dry shampoo that was over $20.00 (and I was like "No way, Jose!"). I am not a fan of those powder ones and after trying the crappy one from Tresemme and the one by Suave that disappears in the can, I didn't have high hopes for this product. I was pleasantly surprised..The price for the small can is $7.99 but, I can be positive that: A.) it will still be in the can when I reach for it and B.) It will do a good job removing build up from my hair and creating volume. I am so glad I saw the good reviews for Batiste on YouTube and MUA. I would recommend it and would purchase it again.
I love this cleanser. This face wash foams up great and cleans my face very well. It removes every trace of makeup and makes my skin so smooth. I have noticed that acne scars have lightened, too. I have tried many cleansers like Clean and Clear, Purpose, Cetaphil, Olay, Mario Badescu, Proactiv and more and have not been as pleased as I have with this one. The packaging is pretty basic, but I don't get why people complain about something as stupid as that. You're not uploading pics of it on Facebook, so who cares?! It comes in a squeeze bottle, so it's hygienic. If you want pretty packaging, get some rhinestones and glue them onto the bottle...Geez.......Walgreens carries this, as well as Ulta. EDIT-After using this a while, it seems that it's a bit drying. Still a good cleanser, but not for every day use.

Ugh, how I wanted this to work...this foundation looks amazing on my skin. My face looks radiant and luminous with this on and is the only drugstore foundation that matches my olive toned skin. My skin is on the normal/dry side. I tried this foundation over the summer and the next day I noticed an acne cyst on my chin. I figured it was because I had spent a lot of time outside in the heat with a face full of makeup. I planned on trying it again when it was cooler out and I didn't have to deal with the southern humidity making me break out. Well, it's winter now and I have been wearing this makeup for about a week straight and I have a lot of new blackheads and two big cysts on my cheek. I hate it because I REALLY love the way this foundation looks. I am bummed:(
I don't get the hype on this product. After I used it I felt like I wanted to wash my face all over again. It's OK but I don't think it's all that great for the price. I use other MB products but this one doesn't do it for me.
I purchased this toner at Ulta a week ago and am returning it. My face feels gummy/sticky after I use it. I have dry skin and like that it doesn't dry my skin out further, but after I use it, I always feel like I want to wash my face again. I'm not sure what all the hype is about. I use other MB products but this one I am not so wild about.
I don't know what the BLEEP is going on with my new favorite dry shampoo! I used it and LOVED it (once) and today when I tried to use it again, the bottle was EMPTY! Man, I thought Suave had solved all my hair woes, but this is turning out to be a sad ending...PROS-Great refreshing smell, residue is minimal and hair is volumized and Beyonce-like. CONS-You will look amazing once...wah, wah, wah...I called Suave and complained and they are sending me a coupon for a replacement bottle. I will give it another whirl and if it happens again, I am going to have to end my relationship with this product, which seemed so promising at the beginning:( EDIT-It happened again, this product needs WORK and will not be purchasing again.
I use this great pump on my drugstore foundation! It makes my makeup application much more convenient and less messy. Glad the girl on YouTube suggested it!
Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aztec - Indian Healing Clay

I have a love hate relationship with this mask. It can do amazing things, but it can also wreak havoc on your face. I use it mostly as a spot treatment when I have a stubborn zit that won't come to the surface. If I use it as a mask, I notice that it makes me have some breakouts. I would suggest that people take it very slowly with this mask! It is a good value at around $8.00 for a container that will last you the rest of your life. I had a blackhead for months that I would not go away, saw a dermatologist and used prescription medication for and nothing would work. I used this as a spot treatment twice and it finally came to the surface. I was thrilled...Wish I had known about it before I spent 20 bucks on a co-pay and 40 bucks for some Finacea from the Dermatologist. I prefer to use my Proactiv mask for usual mask maintenance but every now and then, this could be a life saver. Tread softly with this one, ladies! PS. I hate how everyone always raves about a product the first time they use it...give it some time to see if it's really all that, people. Just sayin'.
Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Lineur Intense liquid liner - brush tip
yankee77 3/29/2011 4:23:00 PM
This liquid liner is amazing. I love the intensity. I love how long wearing it is, it makes my dark brown eyes look mysterious and hypnotic. The brush tip applicator is definitely not for liquid liner rookies, but once you get it, wow weeeee it looks fantastic. It goes on smoothly and lasts forever. Some reviewers have said it is a bit shiny..this is true. To get rid of the shine, I dab my lined eyelids with my mascara brush when I apply mascara to my eyelashes. Some people might think you shouldn't have to do this, but I have tried a lot of liquid liners and they always crease or smudge and this one doesn't, so you gotta do what you gotta do! Loreal, once again you proved that you make a great product and I am worth it!
I am 33 years old and have worn this mascara since I was 15. Sure I have tried other mascaras, but nothing comes close to this. I have long eyelashes and people always ask if they're real, but with this mascara on, they look 3D. Snuffalufagus (sp?) from Sesame Street has nothing on me, with this stuff on my lashes. This is the best mascara on the market and I will never use another! For those who say it dries up quickly, just add a couple of drops of water to the tube and it will be like brand new again (I have done this for years and I recently saw a makeup pro suggest this on a talk show, so for those who are saying that's horrible, save it.)
I love this lipstick and shade. I have worn Gourmet coffee by Milani for years and I will lose it if they discontinue this product! The color and staying power of this lipstick is awesome. It has a sheen to it, but is not too shiny. I am Latina and I definitely think this color works on someone with olive skin tone or darker, because it is quite dark. I get a lot of compliments on it and for the price I couldn't be happier. I also love the image that Milani stands for, being a makeup for Multicultural women...we aren't all the same color, so why shouldn't our makeup be as diverse as we are?! Love, love, love this product!
The Brits are really onto something with this one because Boots is awesome! This product is inexpensive and efficient! I have a hyper-pigmented indented scar caused by a cystic pimple, that has caused me a lot of grief. I have treated it with Bio-Oil, Mederma, Scarzone and Vitamin E oil. No product has produced noticeable results like Boots Scar Serum. Although the scar is still visible, it has lightened in color and has the profile of the scar has become more even with the surrounding skin. It softens, lightens and it works! For eight bucks, this is a magic serum. UPDATE-my scars have lightened but the surrounding pores have clogged and produced blackheads...Maybe for other parts of the body, this is the business, but do not use for the face!
