Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
xxkelsey 12/5/2012 2:54:00 PM
A GUY in my office just told me my skin looks great today. That's what prompted me to write this review. I struggle with oily skin and I'm always looking for new products to help cope. I actually bought this stuff about a year ago and hated it. Thank goodness I put in in my train case instead of tossing it in the garbage. I gave it another shot a few weeks ago when I ran out of MUFE HD. This time I tried applying with a brush instead of my fingers. I dot this all over my face, spray my brush (UD Optical Blurring) with UD All-Nighter Setting Spray, and blend away... I get the most flawless finish! After a little bit of concealer (Maybelline Age-Rewind), I set everything with MUFE Super Matte Loose Powder in their universal shade. Yet again I've cut down on the blotting! Will continue to use this stuff for sure! For reference, I have been matched to NW25 at MAC (though felt it was slightly pink), MUFE HD in 125, and shade #40 in MUFE Mat Velvet Plus. Hope this helps!!

Makeup Brushes -Urban Decay - Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush
xxkelsey 11/29/2012 10:26:00 AM
I haven't used many foundation brushes in the past (so not much to compare it to)- but I know that I don't need to look any further than this. This brush is easy to use, though the handle does make it a little heavier to hold than some other brushes I've used. I don't get any streaks, and everything goes on so evenly. I'm so happy I found this brush. ***TRY THIS: Spray a little bit of UD All-Nighter directly onto the brush right before you use it. Helps make-up stay ALL DAY! LOVE IT!***

Bronzers -Too Faced - Chocolate Soleil
xxkelsey 11/9/2012 12:55:00 PM
Not orange. Not sparkly. Doesn't make me look dirty. Smells nice! This costs more than I would like to spend on a bronzer- but it works well and I've had it for months without making a dent in the product (using it several times a week), so it's definitely going to last a while. I use this with a light hand for all-over bronzer and with a slightly heavier hand for contour. A little goes a long way! The packaging is sleek and sturdy. I'm not sure what else to say! This is a stellar product and I couldn't be happier with it (unless they cut the price in half! lol)!!

Liquid -Kat Von D - Lock-It
xxkelsey 11/9/2012 12:31:00 PM
I still can't get over how well this covers EVERYTHING. I picked this up on a whim after seeing it advertised. I wanted something a little bit cheaper than the MUFE HD I had been using (LOVE MUFE HD, but I need more oil control!), and I figured that if this was anything as good as Kat's concealer then I'd be happy. I have been matched at MAC to NW25 (yet always felt the shade was slightly too pink) and I chose Medium 52 in this. This is considerably more yellow than other foundations I've used, but not enough to turn me off. PRO: +Nice packaging with a sanitary pump +Completely full-coverage +Matte finish +Lasts an 8hr work-day. +Minimal transfer CON: -I had a hard time choosing a shade as I felt most were very yellow-toned -The product is very thick so you have to work quickly when applying. *I also want to note that when I pumped this onto my hand this morning after not using it for about a week, I had noticed that the product clotted up at the end of the pump similiar to what lotion can do if it sits for a while. It caused some product to get stuck behind the pump, which was hard to clean out. Just something to keep in mind!* Overall I am really happy with this product. It's yet another product that allows me to go longer between blotting (FYI, I set this with a light dust of CARGO Blu_Ray). I will definitely continue to repurchase. I hope to sample a few other shades at home to see if I can find one that isn't so yellow on me!

Powder -Cargo - Cargo Blu-Ray High Definition Powder Makeup

I had been using MAC Studio Fix for years. While I found it's a good powder, I recently got the itch to try other things to see if another brand/product would help me stay more matte throughout the day. I picked this up about two weeks ago and have been using it daily since then. I bought it in shade 20. While I feel that Studio Fix offers me slightly better coverage; I feel that Blu_Ray gives me a much more natural finish (not flakey or cakey) and I am blotting half as much as I normally would with MAC. I don't feel like I am wearing a mask anymore. I've tried applying with a few different brushes. A large, fluffy powder brush seems to give me the most natural look. I use a kabuki when I want more coverage. Just an FYI, I do wear this over Skin79 BB cream (same with my old powder). Overall, I do think I like this better than MAC. I'll likely try a few other powders to see what they can offer in terms of oil control. However, I can definitely see myself coming back to this powder and repurchasing.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Pink Label
xxkelsey 10/12/2012 3:22:00 PM
I ordered this product after watching many YouTube reviews. It took me a while to figure out how to work with it, but now that I've got a routine down I really enjoy this stuff. I use the Yes To Blueberries cleansing towelette followed by Urban Decay All-Nighter as a primer. Then, I apply just over a pea-sized amount. This stuff is thick, so I cover the bottom half of my face, and then work to the top. After I've applied it, I wait a couple minutes while the grayish tone that the product initially has turns more fleshy. Then I do a light dusting over whatever powder I'm using at the moment (lately MAC Studio Fix) and that helps warm the color up for me. Then I go on with the rest of my face (bronzer, blush, whatever). +PRO: What I love about this stuff is that I can build up a nice overage and yet it still feels light and "healthy" ...Also, I stay matter throughout the day when I wear this BB cream as opposed to a traditional liquid foundation. My face doesn't feel heavy or oily when I wear this. The packaging is nice-looking and cleanly. -CON: It's a little hard to work with because of the thickness. You've really got to let it set for a good 5 minutes before setting with a powder, as it seems to be a little sticky up until the 5-minute mark. Also, it only comes in one light shade that doesn't suit me in the summertime. *OVERALL: LOVE this product and will continue to repurchase whilst hoping that they make a tanner shade!

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear - Mint Sorbet
xxkelsey 7/24/2012 3:51:00 PM
Love this. I get so many compliments every time I wear it. I had it on for 10 days with no chiips (SH Diamond Shine Top Coat) ...I was just so impressed that a product that cost so little could work so well. It was fairly opaque going on, but I did a second coat anyway... and really I only changed the color out of boredom because it barely chipped! I definitely reccomend this to anyone who hasn't found a nice mint green yet!

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear - Pacific Blue
xxkelsey 7/24/2012 3:41:00 PM
I'm pleasantly surprised by this whole line of polishes. I haven't worn a blue on my nails in SO long- but this one is definitely a keeper! I've had it on about 4 days now. I put it on my hands and feet at the same time. Absolutely no chipping on my toes so far, and minimal chipping on my fingernails even after a beach trip, I used the Sally Hansen Diamond Shine clear coat on top, FYI. I haven't been this excited about a nail polish in so long... I just can't get over how beautiful the color is.

BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream
xxkelsey 7/10/2012 7:32:00 AM
I'm really surprised to see all the positive reviews.. -t's great that it works for a lot of people- but here's my (bad) experience: First off- LOVE skin79 but it's way too light for me now that I've been out in the sun quite a bit. So I picked this up in the shade Medium on a whim. When I used it, I shook it up in the bottle and squeezed out some product. Right off that bat, I noticed how watery this stuff is. I went ahead and put it on my face anyway. I couldn't get coverage. It's just so sheer. I piled some more product on and finally got what I thought was a little bit of evenness to my skin. It was just a lazy day around the house, so I figured I'd hang out and see how it wore. Well, it stayed sticky on my face for a long time and when my boyfriend gave me a kiss, he accidentally rubbed his nose across my cheek, taking all of the product he touched with him. This was after I'd had it on about 20 minutes. I almost threw the stuff away but I thought to myself that I'd save it and use it for the beach/pool since it had SPF and wasn't heavy. Wrong again! I got burned all over... I'm super confused because so many love this stuff. Maybe I'll try it again with my UD All-Nighter... maybe in a shade darker to get some coverage. I'm not sure, but I've definitely got to find my SPF-with-a-little-bit-of-coverage beach product.

Primer/ Corrector -Urban Decay - All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
xxkelsey 3/13/2012 4:32:00 PM
I was pleasantly surprised by this product. I got the sample size while waiting in the checkout line at Ulta, and I've been using it just over a week. First I tried it over my makeup and really didn't notice anything. Then I decided to try it UNDER my makeup (after moisturizer) and it works great! Yes, I still have to do the occasional blot or powder touch-up, but I noticed that I'm blotting and touching up about HALF as much, and it seems like I can go a few extra hours before I feel like my makeup has had it for the day. It also seems to make my foundation (MUFE HD) go on a lot smoother. Not a miracle product, but it does make my life a little easier! I just wish that for the price, the packaging was nicer looking -especially since everything else UD puts their name on is so cute!

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Triggerfish
xxkelsey 12/18/2011 1:55:00 PM
This product is definitely a little bit more on the metallic/silver side than a charcoal. However, it's not nearly as bright as Silverdollar. I love this liner. It does NOT budge, and I love the color despite it being brighter than expected. I do find it a little bit glittery, so I should have known better than to put it on my waterline (got a stye- yuck!). Anyway, if I stick to just using this at the top lash line, I'm a happy girl and overall would give this product a thumbs up.

Shampoo -Aveeno - living colour shampoo
xxkelsey 8/30/2011 6:35:00 PM
I switched from Purology. It's $7 vs $30, doesn't leave build-up, smells decent, and really does help preserve color. I've been using it for about 2 weeks with the Nourish + Moisturize conditioner. My hair is shinier, less frizzy, and my color is already in better shape than it was when I was using Purology. Definite re-purchase :)

Eyeliner -Cover Girl - Liquiline Blast- Violet Voltage
xxkelsey 8/21/2010 10:03:00 PM
This a nice and soft, pigmented pencil. I find I have to go over my line two or three times to get full intensity, but it does seem to last all day as long as I use an eye primer. I would call it more of a light plum (maybe even grape?) than violet, but it's a beautiful color nonetheless (no shimmer, by the way). Like another reviewer said, you can't really tightline with this because the pencil is just too soft to deposit any color on the waterline. Overall I love this for the lashline and I wish it came in a wider range of colors.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Lash
xxkelsey 8/21/2010 9:50:00 PM
This is an OK mascara... I can get great length from this, but it flakes a bit after a few hours. It's VERY black which I like... I just don't think it's worth $20 a tube.

Hair Removal -eos - Shave Cream Ultra Moisturizing Pomegranate Raspberry
xxkelsey 8/21/2010 7:04:00 PM
This stuff is pretty good for the price. The pump is easy to use and I didn't get as many shave bumps as with other creams. It's very moisturizing and the smell is not overpowering... I sort of thought it smelled more like bubblegum than pomegranate/raspberry. Will definitely repurchase.
