Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Waterproof Eyeliner Pen
xxkaykisses 12/15/2011 5:00:00 PM
These are great!!!!! $1 for my HG eyeliner. I have greasy lids, but set with an e/s this liner stays all day. The ease of application with the pen tip liner is ridiculous. I can draw wings + kitten flicks all day long. The black is a great, true black, not watered down or grey. Unfortunately, these dry out quickly, even stored correctly tip-down. The tip also wears out and is no longer sharp, so I have to trim them with scissors to get a point again. Overall, I get a month worth of use out of a pen, but $12 a year for eyeliner is fine by me! These are great for people who need liners to stay but aren't totally skilled at liquid liner.

Lipstick -Kat Von D - Celebutard
xxkaykisses 12/15/2011 4:54:00 PM
I got this lipstick in a sampler. Now I adore berry & MLBB lip colors, and was not excite about a nude lipstick. It is very matte & waxy, but is opaque enough to cover my super pigmented lips! I use this with very dark smokey eyes, or under my semi-opaque lip glosses that my lips normally just cancel out. It is a little too nude for by itself on a daily basis, especially for high school, but if you work a trendy job or live in a city this would be great. I would recommend MAC Hue or Creme de Nude for a similar look. Overall, I like this lipstick for its canceling-out of my natural lips but I am not 100% in love, especially because I am a fair blonde (NW20) and can look a little street-walkerish or dead with a true nude lipstick.

Styling Products -Aussie - Sprunch Spray
xxkaykisses 8/25/2011 1:48:00 AM
HG WAVE HAIRSPRAY. I have naturally stick straight hair (long too, almost boob length), but love to mix up my look. I take a shower at night, pull my hair into two french braids, and sleep in them. Then, take them out in the morning and spritz with Sprunch. Bam. Beachy goddess waves that last all day! I've tried other hair sprays and nothing works this well, but I also found this is awful for after I have curled my hair. It just works for beachy waved. $3 @ Target, non aresol, and works fantastic. What more can you ask for?

Foundations -Cover Girl - Natureluxe Liquid Silk Foundation
xxkaykisses 8/14/2011 1:37:00 AM
This product was pretty decent. The color Aspen worked great for Nw20. It has a nice finish, light to medium coverage, and is oil free :) But, my super oily skin tears right through this. I would purchase again, but I have to power & blot a few times a day. This is about $10-16 an ounce, depending on the store. I normally use a $2 off coupon, so that makes it a decent price for a good quality fndtn.

Moisturizers -Biore - Nourish Moisture Lotion SPF 15
xxkaykisses 5/29/2011 5:14:00 PM
i needed a new, oil free moisturizer, and wanted an SPF just incase my foundations spf 15 wasn't enough. I couldn't find the sadly discontinued spf 30 dual action one, so I grabbed this, because I figured, "Biore with SPF, how bad could this be?" BAD. This does not hydrate well at all, has shimmer in it, and makes me unbelievably greasy. My skin tone also got very red and blotchy. Do not buy this, it is truly a low quality product.

Blush -Sonia Kashuk - Beautifying Blush-Nude
xxkaykisses 5/21/2011 8:56:00 PM
I love this product. its a little orange/nude as a blush, but all over my face, it works great as a bronzer! I'm an NW20 in the winter, and it works great as an all over warming-up-but-not-orange power. It makes me look nice and tan, but not in an obvious or I am wearing bronzer way. I really like this, and will repurchase soon, because I hit pan :)

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere Aqua
xxkaykisses 4/29/2011 11:41:00 AM
I wanted to love this so badly. I have oily, non acne prone skin that needs light to medium coverage, so this was perfect. $45 is not bad for a Chanel foundation, and BR20 was a perfect (I'm talking dead on, looked like my skin) match. I applied this a few different ways with a few primers. The best way I found was a stippling brush over a silicone primer, but fingers worked too. It looked pretty, but not the amazing second skin-like affect everyone was talking about. It looked average, even a bit cakey, set with powder. Where this stuff failed was wear. I got oily within an hour and a half, and thats what normally happens with my tinted moisturizers. I had to blot a few times a day, and it transferred, sunk into my pores, and caked up over time. It didn't work 1/2 as well as a Chanel foundation should work for me. Basically, I feel dumbfounded. Everyone was running around, screaming HG and how amazing this is for oily skin, but this worked only the tiniest bit better than my TMs, which is not a compliment. Maybe my 2-3 samples were all bad, but I got no long-wearing properties, transfer-resistant properties, or oil-control properties from this foundation. It didn't look totally amazing, and couldn't handle an hour or two of wear without coming off! Sad, because BR20 was the best match I've ever had, and it didn't oxidize a smidge. EDIT Wow. I got more samples, stopped using it with a silicone primer, and changed up my skincare routine to be less greasy. This stuff is magic. My skin looks flawless and gorgeous and it is truely a second skin. Lasting power could be better but I wear my makeup 12+ hours a day. Try it with cliniques DDMG, it made a huge difference.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
xxkaykisses 4/19/2011 11:36:00 AM
I first got this mascara in February. It clumped, gave no length, was super wet, and FLAKED. Omg, the flakes were so bad. So, I layered it over other mascaras just to use it up, and vowed to never repurchase. Flash foward to April. Out of the blue, I use it on its own. WOW! by lashes are longgggggg, volumized without clumpiness, and the flaking is almost gone. I can't believe it. Its almost like another mascara. This is not as amazing as my HG covergirl LB Fusion, but the cheaper price and results after letting it "dry" a bit make me want to repurchase is I catch this on sale or have a coupon. I am going to get the waterproof for summer, because its $5 instead of the almost $10 LB Fusion Waterproof.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Kirkland Daily Facial Cleansing Towelettes

These are fantastic! 150 for $11 at Costco, while the other wipes I like are Neutrogena, which retail 30 for $8. So these are a steal! They remove makeup, waterproof or not. I love them. I use them every night before my Purpose cleanser, and my skin is looking so good! All I can say is RUN and get them. They save me so much money, work well, dont burn/sting, and are easily accessible. A true HG in my book!

Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System
xxkaykisses 3/26/2011 7:08:00 PM
I got the level 3 step system last Christmas(2009), and I'd say it lasted about 6 months. I have dehydrated oily skin, with my nose and cheeks being the worst. I heard one of the sellout sisters on youtube shilling this, and she said it worked great for her oily skin. My mom likes clinique, so she bought it for me thinking it would help my clear, but oily skin get better. I got step 3, because my forehead and chin are not as oily. Step 1: Liquid facial soap.Soap. Harsh, stripping, and it made my face soooo tight and dry. It removes makeup well, but it still hurt my face so bad :( Step2: Clarifying lotion. Aka rubbing alcohol from hell in a bottle. This made my face tingle & super clean feeling at first, and I loved it. BUT. then my skin got oily. very oily. this stuff dried out my skin so bad that it felt the need to overproduce oil like CRAZY. it took me 6 months to balance my face after that! Stp 3: DDMG. This stuff feels good going on, but it doesnt moisturize. It just sits on top of the skin, making it feel soft, but providing no real hydration. I appled 3 layers, and after 10 minutes my skin felt dry, which means 15 mins later, here comes oil! Basically, this stuff dried out my face, didnt rehydrate it, and made me oily to the point I used to blot 5-7 times a day. STAY AWAY. EDIT: With a proper, gentle skincare sytem, I started using the DDMG and it is a great mattifying, hydrating moisturizer for the AM.

G.R.E.A.S.Y. You aint got no alibi. You greasy. Oh-oh you greasy. If your oily, run, dont walk, away from this. Its not oil free, and made me SUPER oily (in my not oily areas). I like the light coverage and packaging, but this stuff is a hot greasy mess. ONLY try if your dry.

Clothes -H & M - H&M clothing in general
xxkaykisses 3/6/2011 10:57:00 AM
I have a love hate relationship with this store. I think the clothes are cute, and they have some really nice pieces. It's more "modern" than F21, but I feel like it is more expensive too. Also, every piece of clothing I have purchased from this store falls apart after 2-3 washes (This has not happened with my F21 clothes). BUT, they have great deals. I got my homecoming dress for $7. $7!! What a steal!!!!! They also have cute jewlery. Overall, this place is fun to browse in, but I rarely make a purchase. I find F21 clothes cheaper, better quality, and cuter.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Shimmer Blush in Pink Sugar
xxkaykisses 3/5/2011 11:32:00 PM
I've had this blush for like 3 years now. I wore it a lot in middle school, and still wear it now at 16. It gives me (nw20) a beautiful glow and girlie pink flush. When I don't know what blush to wear, I wear this. It is expensive ($22+ I believe) but it is very pigmented so it will last a long time. This blush is great for the minimalist who wants a nice, simple, glowing pink cheek with some shimmer. Great blush for teens too, because its hard to over do. A light application works for school, more for dances and parties! I really love this color, and would buy it again if I ever run out.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Fusion
xxkaykisses 3/3/2011 10:50:00 PM
This mascara is great! I purchased it on a whim at Ulta...and fell in love! It makes my lashes look great, almost as good as defincils! I believe that it is a bit overpriced, as it averages $8-9 at target, but drugstore makeup seems to be heading the expensive route lately. But, there are coupons in the paper every few weeks for $1 or $2 off, so I normally purchase that. Also, covergirl releases multipacks at costco sometimes and I stock up then. It never flakes, even when its drying up, and makes my lashes long and pretty <3 No other single mascara gives me this effect at this price :) I've found combinations that give me better results, but LB Fusion gives me close results for a cheap price. Plus, the tube is pretty!

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 - Oil Free
xxkaykisses 1/31/2011 11:44:00 PM
I have a love-hate relationship with this product. I got this for the first time in March of 2010, and finished the tube in september. I liked it, but tried other products. I kind of forgot about it, and when I got a bloomies GC, repurcchased in January. Now having used 1 and 1/8 tubes, I feel qualified to write a review. Me: I have VERYYYYYYY oily, fair-medium nuetral skin with no acne but surface redness. The shade Bisque is perfect. Some days it turns darker, some days it doesnt. But no matter what, it still works with a setting powder. Coverage: Sheer-Light. WIth a stippling brush this is light, with fingers medium. This is deffinantly for someone with "great skin". It wont cover a lot of redness or acne. Finish: Dewey. It is not as shiny as the regular LMTM, but does not dry matte or even satin. I love this with mac MSFN over it when my skin isnt as oily. Wear: This lasts about 6 hours on my face with a primer and setting powder. If I blot a lot and re-powder, I cane extend wear to 8 hours. Shine Control: My skin was simply pretty oily when I first got this tube, but had escalated extremely dehydrated oily over the past few months. This TM has mediocre oil control at best, and with the right moisturizer (Bodyshop Seawead Mattyfying), Primer (SB Photofinish light), and powder (maybelline dream matte) can control oil for an hour or two on my skin. Unfortunantly, with my new awful biore moisturizer, HC sheer envy primer, and NYC translucent powder, i get shiny in 25 minutes, and am a complete greaseball in an hour (to defend it, no foundations have been keeping me shine free). I have to blot every 85ish minutes in the morning (my oiliest peak is from 7-1. After that oil production slows) to stop me from completely looking disgusting. Price: $42 for 1.7 oz. This is about 23-24 dollars an ounce, which is not that expensive considering that most foundations are $30+ an ounce. Yes, $42 is a lot, but not for the ammount you are getting. Overall: This product is great for my skin needs, but with my bad current skincare, primer, and powder, along with increased oil, this doesn't provide me with the oil control or lasting power I need. I will not repurchase, but if my skin ever dries up to just oily or normal, I will repurchase again. It just takes to much work to maintain a good looking face with this product, my other products, and my skin.
