Conditioner -Clairol - Herbal Essences Drama Clean refreshing conditioner

LOVE LOVE LOVE this conditioner! Finally, a product that doesn't weigh my hair down and leaves a little bounce, shine, and silkiness I have yet to find with other conditioners. Definitely my HG Conditioner (which I also use with my HG Shampoo Drama Clean). My hair is a fine texture, with a little wave (that is straightened), and medium thickness. I will never stray from this product again...

I LOVE this shampoo...and just like every product, it will work for some but not for others. My hair is more manageable, shiny, and soft while using this product *btw my hair has a fine texture, but medium thickness and a little wave but I straighten it* I have tried higher end products - Rusk being one of THE WORST I have ever used, and lower end products such as Suave - but I always come back to this one. ***I highly recommend...and will never turn back again**** Of course, always keep in mind the type of hair you have when picking a product to fit your needs. This will always determine how well it will work for you.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Olive Scrub - Elements
rated 2 of 5
xraygirl 3/5/2008 2:03:00 PM

This is a re-print response I gave someone who asked me a question about this product from the message boards. I bought the Olive Scrub and the Olive Cleanser. The scrub I got for the occasional exfoliation (I can't use it daily because of sensitive skin), and the regular olive cleanser for daily cleansing. IMHO, they are not bad products, but they are not the best out there either. Both contain fragrance which...not good for sensitive skin, but I have yet to encounter problems from it (so I will continue to use until I run into a problem and/or run out). As for the scrub, my opinion is 'eh'. I think St. Ives has a better product with the Apricot scrub versus this so I will probably not buy it again. In fact, I will probably not buy either again. There are better cleansers and scrubs out there - they already have a better scrub with the apricot (which I have recently been told - not so much - they changed that product up too). I think they are playing on the benefits of using olive oil on the skin, but if that is the only reason you are buying - then I would suggest using the home concoctions for olive oil use for the skin rather than buying this packaged version. I know in the future I will. As with every product - different people will have different results or experiences

Concealers -Physicians Formula - Conceal RX
rated 4 of 5

LOVE LOVE LOVE! this concealer! I have yet to find a concealer (especially from PF) that covers up those pesky flaws like this one. I was hesitant on buying this at first (mostly because I had not checked it out on MUA first and almost didn't for that reason alone) - but I took a chance and am quite thankful I did. I think the only drawback, and I believe someone else said it, is if you have dry skin. It tends to bring it out...but easily worked out (for the most part) with some extra moisturizer. But I must say I did not once think about how my face looked all day, and if those pesky red marks were showing through...because when I caught glimpses in the mirror during the course of the day it looked the same as when I put it on. Great product. This will be my one and only concealer...until like most companies, they try and upgrade. This is one upgrade (IMO) they do not need to make... *side note* part of the problem with the dryness issue I have is directly related to being on Retin A Micro...so it is not completely an issue with the concealer.

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30
rated 4 of 5
xraygirl 6/14/2007 2:26:00 AM

I am sorry to read such bad reviews on this product...but I have actually had a great experience! I have been using for about 7-8 weeks, and have had noticeable improvement in my skin tone. Mind you, I am also using a prescription strength cream for some skin issues so that might also play a part. However, I have never had this quick improvement when using my prescription alone, and I have been on it for over a year. I agree with a previous reviewer who said it might not be great for more oilier skin types...my is on the WAY dry side because of my prescription. If you are in the same situation as me, this may be very beneficial for you!

Conditioner -Garnier - FRUCTIS conditioner
rated 4 of 5
xraygirl 10/2/2006 11:05:00 PM

I am one of the few who disagree with all the bad reviews. I use the conditioner and shampoo for my color treated, straight, fine hair. I must say the conditioner has made my hair as soft as it was in high school, and that is truly amazing! My hair also has a definite shine to it again, and I feel like a million bucks using this product that is so cheap. Much like the shampoo review, I deducted a lippie for the packaging (Don't like much), but if I could only deduct 1/2 a lippie for that I would as I don't see it as a problem when something works.

Wow...I can't believe the bad reviews on this. Well, I have color treated, straight, fine hair. This shampoo (along with its conditioner counterpart)has made my hair silky smooth and easier to manage. I really like this product, and the smell is fantastic. The only reason I took one lippie off is because I don't like the packaging all that well.

Cleansers -Dove - Gentle Exfoliating Daily Facial Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
xraygirl 9/12/2006 2:27:00 PM

Dove comes out with another great product. I use this while I take my morning shower to clean my face. It is not harsh, and really takes off some of those dead skin cells left from using my retin a micro overnight. I follow up with my Eucerin sensitive skin q10 antiwrinke lotion w/ spf 15 to get ready to go skin for the day. My derm loves the dove products, but I get more from diversity in products as my cetaphil is the best cleanser for me at night (although he recommends that as well). Great product, and may look into using their foam cleanser alternately with my cetaphil as I have read good reviews on that as well. **I guess I should clarify which foaming cleanser - it is also another Dove Essentials Nutrients product self foaming cleanser**

Moisturizers -Eucerin - Sensitive Facial Skin Q10 Active Night Anti-Wrinkle Cream
rated 4 of 5
xraygirl 9/12/2006 2:10:00 PM

I have the sensitive facial skin Q10 Anti-wrinkle lotion w/spf 15. I could not locate that actual heading under the Eucerin products - so I am posting it here because this is the closest. I don't know if the day lotion w/spf makes the difference, but it is much lighter than what I read in previous reviews on the night cream. I only use 3 pumps into the palm of my hand, and swipe a dab of the cream on my cheeks, forehead, and chin. On the advice of my dermatologist, i rub the cream in and allow it to settle for 15 minutes before applying makeup. This is to avoid clogging your pores with makeup and lotion as both try to settle in the skin at the same time. It seems to make all the difference in avoiding feeling greasy, bringing back the normal moisture appearance in the face, and getting a smooth application of your makeup. Since I currently use retin a micro, it also has helped with flakiness. I like the product alot, especially because it is like all of my makeup, non-comedogenic and fragrance free. The only reason I took off one lippie is that although the smell is not bad, it isn't great either. I am one that smell is not important if something works, but I understand that others are more sensitive in that area. I would describe it as the smell of suntan lotion - the kind without any coconut smell to it. Overall, a good product. I also recommend with any daytime moisturizer to allow 15 minutes before applying makeup. My derm seemed to be on the money with this advice.

Scrubs -Olay - Regenerist Microdermabrasion and Peel Kit
rated 2 of 5
xraygirl 9/11/2006 4:11:00 PM

This isn't a bad product. It smells great, and if my skin was not so sensitive, it probably would have been a great dermabrasion. I think the amount they tell you to use is far too small without feeling like you are stretching it thin. The warming serum was nice, but I think it added to the redness my face had afterwards (which lasted for about 3 hours!) Overall, if you don't have sensitive skin - go for it. It leaves your face baby smooth! But in my case, I will probably continue using it once a month until it is gone because to me it is pretty pricey just to throw out. I am going to try the Ponds product because it seemed to work well on those with sensitive skin.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Retin A Micro
rated 5 of 5
xraygirl 8/19/2006 10:29:00 PM

If you have problems with painful, cystic acne, and want to avoid scarring up your face - this is the stuff for you. Keep in mind you must see a dermatologist in order to get a prescription for it. I unfortunately never struggled too much with acne until a few years ago (28/29 yo). I finally went to a derm for help last fall and i was placed on minocycline and retin a micro. Since my insurance would not cover these products, I paid a pretty penny for them (especially the retin-a micro 0.1% - $115)so also keep that in mind. Considering how little you need to use, I am still working on my original tube from last year, and will get my refill soon before it expires. It made me peel horribly at first, and like the pamphlet states, you may notice an increase in acne over 4 weeks as it purges everything from your skin (and it did so bad that I almost gave up on it)! Don't give up on it after only 2-3 weeks!!! To taper down the redness I experience, I only use it every other day and sometimes every couple of days. I cannot thank the people who developed this product enough. Since using it, I have had so many compliments on how much better my skin looks, and has even helped with some fine lines i had and clearing up any remaining acne marks. I don't need the minocycline as long as I have this product. **Update** I had actually started another round when I wrote this first review. I should have never stopped using this stuff in the first place. My face is coming back again. I am currently on week 6, and other than 3 blemishes, everything else is clear again, and like usual the redness has subsided. I still stand behind this being a miracle product - it has taken (for the most part) those fine lines in my forehead. Im even get wonderful comments on how young I look again...but the best part is I feel better about how I look. I will give the final review on week 7. **Final Update** I am past Week 7 now, and I get maybe 1 zit, and it is gone within a week. Some of the redness came back, but that was my own fault - forgot the sunscreen on my face on a day I was out in the sun ALOT. Do not ever leave the house without sunscreen with using this product. It takes awhile to taper down redness. Other than that, I will take redness to my skin than have a plethera of cystic acne again. There are easier ways around redness :) Still love this product!

Love love love this product - really helped my self esteem come back to life!!

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Sweet Pea Body Spray
rated 4 of 5
xraygirl 7/25/2006 11:26:00 PM

This is my favorite of all the bath and body products on smell alone. It, however, only gets a 4 out of 5 because as with most of their body sprays, the scent does not last long.

Conditioner -Nexxus - Humectress Conditioner

Smells good, good paired with Therappe shampoo, and can easily comb through hair after using. However, tends to have a weighing effect after a couple of weeks. Average product.

I love trying different shampoos to see which one will perk my hair up the best. I really love the smell of this stuff, but along with the humectress conditioner, it tends to become a little weighing after a couple of weeks. Still searching for the perfect shampoo/conditioner.
