i started using this with great success BUT i did notice that my hair was falling out more than usual. after studying the ingredients, i found the ingredient SODIUM C14-16 OLEFIN SULFONATE to be really bad. stay far away!

Lipstick -Shiseido - Perfect Rouge Glowing Matte Lipstick (all)
xoxsarahoxo 7/4/2010 9:27:00 PM
i have the pk 224, sugar babe one. it's pretty moisturizing for a matte lipstick, it almost looks like lip stain when i have it on. i'm always scared to wear corals b/c i don't want to look too palm beachy (in a scary way) but this is perfect for my fair-medium skin. it's a coral/melon color and it also brightens up my face!

Mascara -Revlon - Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara
xoxsarahoxo 5/9/2010 3:11:00 PM
i bought the waterproof version first of all. this is one of the worst mascaras i've tried. the brush is big but the bristles look like their from a old school mascara. the mascara itself flakes like crazy, smudges and does not separate. this is the only mascara i tossed after only a couple of tries. i usually just stick with it until i buy a replacement but not with this one! and no where in the ingredients is there a something that will 'help' with lashes.

Highlighters -Sephora - Highlight Compact Powder - Rose
xoxsarahoxo 3/15/2010 8:31:00 PM
i wanted a soft blush and highlighter in one so i thought this would have been great. it did show up on my nc-15~20 skin BUT the problem was the smell. i usually do not have any problems with products that smell b/c it usually goes away but this does not! it smells like baby powder and not in a good way. it literally made me sick so i returned it.

Polishes -China Glaze - lemon fizz
xoxsarahoxo 1/12/2010 9:05:00 PM
ok so i couldn't wait for this to come out in stores so i bought it on ebay for $5.50 (incl. shipping). i've been wanting a pale yellow nailpolish for the spring. this pale yellow is very opaque and a bit chalky (after 3 coats). it reminds me of white-out but in pale yellow. also the color is a little brighter than a yellow post-it. the consistency is nice tho, the least non-streaking pale yellow i've encountered so far. not the color or effect i wanted but if you're looking for something like this, you will like it. as far as 'will i buy it again', no but then again i rarely buy second bottles of the same np if ever

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Length Water Resistant
xoxsarahoxo 12/30/2009 8:39:00 PM
i know this review is a little premature but i had to write one! first of all, i can ONLY wear waterproof mascaras for 2 reasons: 1) keeps my curl 2) it doesn't smudge (well better than non-wp). so i was waiting for this mascara to come out! i'm over the falsies lashes i've been doing for the past years. i wanted natural, beautiful, long lashes. when i first put this on (after curling) my lashes un-curled a bit. i thought it was weird so later that night when i took off my makeup, i just used water to splash my face and ALL of the mascara came off. usually i HAVE to use oil to remove wp mascaras but not this one. so it is NOT water resistant at all. it made my lashes look a little spidery when i applied more than 2 coats. as far as smudging, i only wore it for a few hours so i couldn't see. it was a disappointment ;(

Bath Treatments -Shu Uemura - pleasure of japanese bath - hinoki bath oil
xoxsarahoxo 12/19/2009 5:59:00 PM
i bought this for my ex as he originally wanted the comme des garcons hinoki fragrance but since it was out of my budget, i opted for this instead. and we love it!! it's $40 for 6.7 oz but all you need is a cap full. it turns the bath water milky instead of bubbly and it makes your skin soft and smell like hinoki. he said this was the best gift he has ever received!

Lips -Chanel - Rouge Allure Laque Ming 76
xoxsarahoxo 9/25/2009 7:53:00 PM
i didn't buy this but i did test it out today because i really wanted to but it was sold out... it's about $32 but the packaging is awesome as usual... the problem is that it looks exactly like dior's coral elixir (which both are pale pink creme glosses) and the dior one is $26 but you can buy it cheaper online... so i'd rather buy the dior one only because of the price but if i didn't have to worry about the price...i'd just go with chanel of course :)

Shampoo -Paul Mitchell - Tea Tree line
xoxsarahoxo 8/27/2009 1:27:00 PM
i bought this because i have naturally bad hair scent and no matter how good the shampoo or styling product smells, it just doesn't mask the odor...so i read somewhere that this diminishes this so i used it and it does work...i was happy using this until half of my 1 liter bottle later did i notice that my hair was completely dried out and my scalp started to flake big time...i think this is a good 2-3x weekly shampoo only and not everyday

Brows -Anastasia Of Beverly Hills - Anastasia Brow Powder
xoxsarahoxo 8/13/2009 1:56:00 PM
i love the powder~ i've tried the pencil and brow wiz and the powder is my favorite...first of all, i have 'holes' in my eyebrows so i need something that looks natural and i love the color (medium ash)..it blends perfectly with my off-black eyebrows...it doesn't have a weird tint to them at all..i sometimes lighten my eyebrows in the summer because my hair turns brown/red and the medium ash still looks great...i think the pencil, powder and the brow wiz was $22/each but the powder is worth it because it lasts so long...i've had mine for over a year and i haven't seen the bottom of the pan yet

i have the powder which i love and i've tried the original pencil so when this came out i had to try it...for reference my eyebrows are recovering from over-pucking in highschool...the 'holes' in my eyebrows are closer to the nose and this did not look natural when i applied it. maybe it would work better if my 'holes' weren't so big and bald and throughout my eyebrow instead of just the front...i do like the sleek packaging...

Lotions/ Creams -DDF - Glycolic Body Lotion
xoxsarahoxo 8/13/2009 1:44:00 PM
i bought this at sephora which retails about $45 for 8.45 oz. i got this to help with my rough chicken skin on my legs, arms and neck. it works pretty well and since it was expensive (for a body lotion) i only used it on areas i only need but i'm not sure if i would repurchase this because of the price...i'm going to try paula's choice 10% AHA body lotion when i run out because it's $23 for 8 oz...hopefully that will be just as good

Masks -Malin & Goetz - Detox Face Mask
xoxsarahoxo 8/5/2009 3:28:00 PM
my friend works for company that designed the packaging so i got a 50% discount at the store in nyc...so with that said i loveee the packaging lol..it really is clean and appealing...as far as the product, i've only used it twice and my face broke out in 6 pimples...i've always had really clogged pores and i think this made the yucky stuff in my pores come to the surface, i hope...i will update after more uses...

Foundations -La Mer - the SPF Fluid Tint
xoxsarahoxo 7/21/2009 5:46:00 PM
normally i buy foundation to cover up the large pores on my nose and acne scars but after wearing foundation for years (i just turned 24) i decided to take better care of my skin instead of just hiding it and i felt foundation wasn't doing my skin any good. so i decided to buy a tint with skin 'improving' properties. i have bought the la mer creme before but i didn't see anything different with my skin when i used it. but i have to say that i really do like this tint. at first i thought it was too sheer to cover up anything but as time went on, my skin improved (scars lightened, less clogged pores, more even tone skin). but i can't attribute everything to la mer because i did change my skin care routine as well but la mer has definitely made my skin look better whenever i wear it. as for the price it's $65 for 1.7 oz. i don't think that's a big deal because i usually wear foundations that are $30-40 for 1 oz. i will keep buying!
