Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
rated 4 of 5
xoxokris 4/28/2012 11:35:00 PM

This is my 2nd favorite foundation, after Guerlain Lingerie de Peau. I love how natural and flawless it makes my skin looks. The foundation itself is water-based so it's pretty thin, but it blends perfectly and feels like nothing. It doesn't make my skin shiny or too dewy. It's medium coverage and I only need a tiny amount to cover my whole face. A plus: it does not oxidize! My only complaints are that there is no pump for the bottle (you have to buy it seperately if you want it) and that the colors are mostly yellow-based. I have a neutral to cool undertone so my matched shade Ceylan, is a bit too yellow but I can deal with it. Used with NARS Loose powder, and your skin will look flawless! Those with more oily skin should try the Matte version.

Lipstick -Tom Ford - Private Blend Lip Color - Blush Nude
rated 5 of 5
xoxokris 2/2/2012 4:13:00 PM

I LOVE THIS LIPSTICK. I've been searching for the perfect nude for years; I've tried everything from YSL, Chanel, Cle de Peau, Guerlain, MAC, Dior, Armani, Lancome, MUFE, Nars...etc. Something was always wrong with those...be it the texture, color, pigmentation, wear, or whatever else. So I decided to try Tom Ford, even though the price is insane. NOw, I don't know if I can ever use another lipstick. The texture is wonderous...it's light, creamy, smooth, yet has no slip. It lasts a while too. The pigmentation is amazing. It's opaque in one layer. Blush Nude is a pinky nude beige color and is the perfect nude for my NW25 skin tone. I love love love. I am obssessed with these now and will definitely be buying more lipsticks from this line!! The packaging is a bit bulky but it's alright. It's about $50 but it's worth it. You won't ever go back to other brands once you try these...or at least I won't :)

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express One by One
rated 4 of 5
xoxokris 12/17/2011 5:03:00 PM

Probably the best lengthening mascara I have used and I have used everything from Dior to Chanel to Covergirl to YSL. It volumizes but not a lot. I use this under a volumizing mascara since this primes my lashes well and makes them superrr long. I put on one to two coats but no more or else it will start clumping. The brush is ok, not my fave. But a good everyday mascara. Will def buy more.

Highlighters -NARS - Highlighting Blush Powder in Albatross
rated 4 of 5
xoxokris 12/17/2011 4:59:00 PM

This looks chalky white in the pan and when I first swatched it, it also seemed super powdery and dry. However, under light it gives off the prettiest cool-toned golden sheen. Because of this, it will suit all skin tones very well. The shimmer is finely milled but it's not subtle...so you will still see glitter, just not chunky glitter. Anyway, don't let the swatches fool you! This is my favorite highlighter after looking EVERYWHERE! It's natural and gives off that candle lit glow. I apply lightly to my cheekbones and a little bit down m nose. Sometimes I apply under my brow bones and to the inner corners of my eyes. Very versatile. Also this is highly highly HIGHLY pigmented. I literally barely touch the product with my brush and it gives me more than enough product for my face. This will probably last me for the rest of my life...no joke. Worth the high price tag. If you also like the Orgasm blush or Laguna bronzer, def get the trio while it's still out. The Albatross in there seems like it's just a small amount but it will last a long time! And the blush/bonzer are divine.

Highlighters -Guerlain - Meteorites Perles Teint Rose
rated 5 of 5
xoxokris 9/12/2011 5:10:00 PM

I've been wanting to buy this for years but $60 on a sheer illuminating powder?? I always passed. But I caved last month when I fell in love with Guerlain foundation..so I thought why not? This powder is supposed to give skin a glowy radiant look and each pearl has a specific color correcting purpose. I chose Rose since it is the original and supposed to work with most skin tones. After using this as a finishing powder...WOW. It gives such a magical effect. Truly gave me a radiant glow...like those makeup ads where the model has perfect skin. It evened out my skin tone, diminished fine lines, made me look less tired, and well like I said, I looked radiant. Meteorites ARE NOT supposed to give you color and they DO NOT show up shimmery like a highlight at all. They are not detectable once on, they just enhance skin like foundation does. It's almost impossible to overdo. So if you want a blush or color or a pigmented highlighter, this is not that. These will last me years! though I will gladly buy a new one :)

Liquid -Guerlain - 'Lingerie de Peau' Invisible Skin-Fusion Foundation
rated 5 of 5
xoxokris 9/4/2011 2:32:00 AM

I was deciding between this and Dior Nude for the longest time, though I had not tried either. So I went to Nordstrom to get samples of both. I'm a MAC NW25 and was matched to shade 03..which surprised me since I heard NW20-25 usually correspond to shade 02. But nevertheless, I took the sample to see how it worked. First, Dior Nude SUCKED. So I tried this one, and OH MY GOD...it was heaven. This foundation blended like a dream and the texture was just so soft and silky and smooth. I have never felt a foundation like this before. More coverage than Dior, but its medium coverage. Anyway, my skin looked radiant and natural and smooth. The finish isn't exactly dewy but it looked like I had a light "glow from within" look. Not shiny or greasy looking at all. So pretty and perfect. Oh and the shade match was right on! I just hope I don't get too pale during the winter though. My only little complaint is that it did seem to wear off within 5-6 hours, but it doesn't promise to last all day so I just make sure to use a setting powder and/or Meteorite Perles with it and I'm set. Not HG status yet because of this but very close!

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Nude Hydrating Makeup SPF 10 [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
xoxokris 9/4/2011 2:23:00 AM

I read so many good reviews about this so I decided to go get a sample at Nordstrom to see if this would be the one liquid foundation I actually liked enough to buy AND keep. (I've tried MUFE, Dior Spray, MAC, Laura Mercier, YSL, CoverGirl, Maybelline...etc & none of them worked). Anyway, I was matched to Cameo; I'm NW25. When I put it on, the result was alright. The coverage is a lot sheerer than I expected, but not as sheer as say a tinted moisturizer. It is truly lightweight but a bit hard to blend and at first I didn't feel like I had makeup on. At first, it felt hydrating and my skin had a pretty radiance to it so i thought, wow this is great! However, after an hour, I felt like my face was melting off and I looked super greasy! My skin looked and felt oily! Ew. I have normal skin that is oily in the t-zone sometimes so I didn't expect to get this greasy looking. Also I should note i was inside this whole time in a house with AC on. I can't believe this got such good reviews! I honestly think this is overhyped. Defnitely get a sample first if you are thinking of buying.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - Flipside 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil
rated 5 of 5
xoxokris 8/27/2011 1:49:00 AM

These eyeliners in general are the best EVER. They really do glide on and are suuuuuper pigmented. Very smooth and easy to use. Plus there is minimal smudging and they last a long time. Anyway, this color is beautiful. It makes my eyes pop and it adds just the right touch of a fun color to my eyes. I like to pair this with neutral matte eye shadows so it doesn't take away from the vibrancy of this liner. Can't wait to get more colors!

Lipstick -MAC - Peachstock (satin)
rated 5 of 5
xoxokris 8/27/2011 12:47:00 AM

PERFECT peachy nude!! This is like an opaque version of Freckletone...which I find to be way too sheer. It's on the same spectrum as Blankety but Blankety is more brown/beige while this is obviously peach. I can understand why some people would say this washes them out...but I would say if you're NW/NC 30 and down, this will be good for you (I'm NW 25). But I love how this is nude yet gives me a light peachy glow. I wear this with MAC Strange Potion and it's gorgeous! This is LE at MAC counters but it's always availible at PRO stores, which anyone can buy.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Cremesheen Glass-Fashion Scoop
rated 5 of 5
xoxokris 8/13/2011 11:48:00 PM

One of my all time favorite lipglosses. A MUA used this on me over Snob and I LOVED it. It gave me a light pink pop to my lips. I didn't buy it then though because I kept telling myself I didn't need another light pink lip gloss. But I kept thinking about it so of course I went back and bought it. Now I use it everyday and it's perfect. Love it over my nude/pink lipsticks. Although it doesn't look that unique on the outside, it looks amazing on.

Lips -Chanel - Rouge Allure Laque Santal 77
rated 3 of 5
xoxokris 7/12/2011 1:31:00 AM

I wanted to like this so badly. Everytime I go to the Chanel counter I put on the Rouge Allure Laque in MING (pink shade) and I looooooove it! However when I actually decided to buy I impulsively picked this shade over Ming. Santal is a pretty peachy color that is neutral in tone. It looks nice on, but that's all, just nice. Ming is a lot prettier on and more pigmented I think. Santal just looks like I have lip balm on. And for $32? Not worth it. If it was $14-$15, then yes, I would like it more but next time, I'm getting Ming.

Fragrances -Trish McEvoy - Blackberry and Vanilla Musk #9 EDP
rated 4 of 5
xoxokris 7/10/2011 4:58:00 PM

Okay I LOVE this perfume. I smelled it when a lady sprayed it at Nordstrom and I knew I had to have it. It's a very sweet smelling scent that reminds me of a candy store. However, it''s supposed to be a sexy smell composed of blackberry and vanilla. The blackberry is pretty prominent but in a good way. Anyway, I never liked sweet candy like fragrances but this one is just way too amazing. AND it smells great on me. Not something that you would wear to work though...this is more for nighttime or dates. Downside is the price..its $50 for a 1ml bottle :(

Lipstick -MAC - Freckletone lipstick
rated 4 of 5
xoxokris 7/10/2011 1:59:00 AM

This is literally the same exact color as my lips. No matter how much I layer on, I can't see anything. And I actually like that. Even though I don't see the color on my lips, it made my lips plump and smooth and my skin glow. I really like this lipstick. I know you're thinking why I would bother if it doesn't show up but it just magically makes me look better somehow.. This is a peachy nude color that would flatter all skin tones. I'm NW25 and I think if you are lighter, this would make a nice coral-y color for you. If you're darker, I think this would be a perfect nude. Recommend everyone try this.

Skincare - Face -MAC - Fix+
rated 5 of 5
xoxokris 7/10/2011 1:49:00 AM

I didn't believe this could do much at first. I mean it's a water spray, with some vitamins and minerals...how much could it possibly do right? WRONG! I used to use Mineral Veil as my setting/finishing powder but I wanted to try something that didn;t make my face look so powdery so I decided to give this a try. RESULTS: beautiful, smooth, radiant, luminous, airbrushed and dewy skin. The best? made my makeup last alllll day. Feels like nothing is on your skin at all. So refreshing to use and takes literally 2 seconds to put on. The MAC MUA also told me to give my makeup brushes a spritz of this so that my makeup would go on better and last longer while Im putting it on! I am addicted to this..no joke. I've sprayed it on 3 separate occasions today already just for fun...

Lip Treatments -MAC - Lip Conditioner
rated 4 of 5
xoxokris 7/10/2011 1:40:00 AM

I use this as a lip primer over my regular lip balm. Alone it's moisturizing and nice but not as good as my drugstore lip balm. However, it does a GREAT job priming the lips fr lipstick (my regular balm alone didn't make my lipsticks go on as nicely as this did). It smoothes the lips and makes the lines not visible. I apply my reg balm, a thin coat of this, then lipstick. My lips look plump, smooth, and pretty for a long time! The spf is a plus. Though this is supposed to be clear, it does lighten the lips a little, which I like since my lips are pigmented, but if you don't like that then i would say try one of the tinted ones. Re purchasing when I run out for sure!
