despite my eagerness - i HATED this blush! i'm very bummed because i love orgasm, so was super excited about this one, but the flecks of glitter are completely annoying and messy! they ended up all over my chest and in my hair. i had glitter everywhere EXCEPT my cheeks! would not recommend this blush.
this is a very pretty opalescent grey/pink-ish color. i wore it with knight divine (shade similar to knight in the BBR collection) and it looked amazing. would definitely rec you check it out :) i'm a nc30-35 for ref. i wore with painterly pp and also tried with perky pp and perky is the winner! brings out the pink and looks to pretty!
pros: soft silky rich color, used on top of mac's painterly it lasts all day! very neutral, everyday look. i found it new on ebay for $15! doubt i would have paid full price ($32) for it. i love love love the lightest color, i use it outside the trio with other mac faves such as bronze, tempting, mulch, etc. cons: medium and dark colors are too close in color, no real difference when applied. first application had tons of fall-out, though i haven't seem to have it since :) for ref: NC30-35
Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Sheersheen Loose Powder in Lucent

too bad this didn't work out for me, i wanted it to sooo bad! this product actually maximizes my pores and imperfection. i mean, really, it accentuates pores making them appear larger than they appear w/o this product. i gave it a fair chance, i've used it for about a week and a half each time using a different application process (on top of foundation prior to skin finish, after skin finish, no skin finish, on top of blush, w/o blush etc.) and it ALWAYS looked horrible. i gave it two lippies because the idea is nice, and maybe it will work for you ;)
i'm so glad that i finally got my hands on one of these, LE so was very difficult to find! i wouldn't really call this a blush, more of a shimmer/glowy highlighter. i use it on top of my blushes to *finish* the look leaving a soft, radiant, healthy glow :) for ref i'm NC30-35 and this is a beautiful skin finisher.
i love mac's pp so this was just another GREAT addition! i use this under brown, bronze, golden looks and it just enhances the color and staying power. for ref i'm a NC30-35.
i use this as a base under brown/bronzey looks. it's beautiful and can also be used alone on the lid. for ref i'm a NC30-35 and it looks amazing under e/s and as a lid color!!!
i mostly use this as a blush base (used underneath and it will add longevity to your blush :) i've also tried as an e/s base but find that it creases :( i also use as a cheek highlighter which is very pretty. i tend to be oily in my t-zone so use a light hand when applying to my face. it's a very soft, shimmery finish which looks pretty and subtle. for ref i'm a NC30-35.
Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
xoxo1598 11/20/2008 1:36:00 PM
after first trying mac's painterly and being disappointed (have since changed my mind/review) i tried UDPP. i love this product because it makes the e/s pop and last all day w/o creasing, which is also why i DON'T like UDPP! i only use for special occasions because i find it extremely difficult to remove at the end of each night, i swear it added at least 5 minutes to my makeup removal process! so, while i still love it and highly recommend it, i would not recommend it for daily use. my daily use base is painterly :)
i developed an allergy to MUFE's concealer (which i LOVED and would probably be my favorite concealer) so tried this one after a recommendation from a MUA. I find that this works almost as well as MUFE's concealer, if not as well. I love the very dry texture, I find it lasts all day, doesn't get oily and is a perfect match fro my skintone (i use #3 and am a NC30-35). I have oily t-zone (especially) around the nose area and LM SC works wonders at keeping the oil away. I swear it's magic! It's pricey but will last forever. Don't be afraid of the two different colors (like i was at first) i find the flexibility very beneficial, you can control it lighter for under the eyes (to brighten) and around the nose and imperfections a little darker to blend into the skin. The best of both worlds imo!
I was looking for a powder to set my face makeup and this one works wonderfully! i like it much better than MAC's Blot Powder and MUFE's Set Powder. I apply it after my Studio Fix and my skin looks soft and beautiful, minimizes the appearance of fine lines and skin imperfection. I also find that my face looks flawless for about 8 hrs! This product works for me and I would definitely rec you give it a try. Oh, I'm using a sample from Sephora, which I think will last months!!!! For ref, I have combination skin (oily in t-zone) and this keeps the shine at bay :)
Makeup Brushes -MAC - Adoring Carmine 5 Basic Brushes set Holiday 2008
xoxo1598 10/30/2008 10:00:00 PM
I bought this at Nordstrom since they were only $35. I wouldn't have paid $50 for them... Besides the obvious difference in size to the regular brushes, these sets are machine made (not manmade like the long handled brushes) so are not as great-quality as the longer, more expensive versions. These are my touch-up/secondary brushes, really not comparable to the long handled brushes imo. For $35 I would recommend.
Blush -MAC - Beauty Powder in Flower Mist Dew (Emanuel Ungaro)

i love this product. it's not a blush, i use it more to blend colors, as a finish, and/or to add a "soft" look. i'm NC30 and it looks very "gentle" on me (sorry, i don't know how else to describe). i use it at the apples of my cheeks with crushed bougainvillea at the outer apples/cheek bone and the combo is amazing.
i love mac's ccb's so when this came out i rushed to purchase it... and i LOVE it!!! i apply it with my 187 brush, stipple it on minimally and blend, viola, beautiful color that lasts all day! for reference, i'm NC30 and apply it to the outer apples/high cheek bone and use a lighter pink-ish blush on my apples, like dame or pink swoon. i've also used it alone with the beauty powder, flower mist, and love it that way too.
so i've been a loyal consumer of mary kay skin care products for years!!! i get tons of compliments on my beautiful skin and i swear it's thanks to mary kay. i'm bummed that after many years of use i can no longer use the velocity facial cleanser (i use mary kay's 3 in 1 now). i developed an allergy to vfc so had to switch. before allergy i used: vfc + time wise moisturizer after allergy i use: 3 in 1 + velocity lightweight moisturizer i feel these combos do pretty much the same, my skin is still oh-so beautiful and i get many compliments :)
