Styling Products -John Frieda - 3-day Straight Semi-Permanent Styling Spray

I need to use this product if I intend on getting my super curly and frizzy hair straight with more ease and in less time than usual. It's a staple in my hair collection. Without it it takes longer to get my hair straight, and even at that - my hair still isn't as straight as it could be, and frizz creeps up easy, with the slightest hint of humidity! This DRASTICALLY reduces the amount of frizz I get!! I can go out with my hair covered with a hood and an umbrella, and can go inside a building without it looking like I was lazy and did nothing with my hair. I swear it's cut my blowdrying time in half. With that being said, my hair is relatively straight after blow drying, but nowhere near where I want it. But the better results after blow drying my hair make it waaaay easier to flatiron. I'd definitely recommend this product to anybody with thick, frizzy-prone, very curly hair. It works wonders for me! :)

Eye Makeup Remover -Lumene - Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover for Eyes and Lips
rated 5 of 5
xomacgirl401 2/1/2012 4:23:00 PM

This makeup remover is AWESOME. Many other makeup removers I've tried in the past would sting my eyes and take a couple too many tries to get the gel-liner I use on my eyes and mascara off. I tried this product and loved it the first time I used it. It's really gentle and although it's kind of oily, it does the job and I get off all my eyeshadow, liner, and mascara in only a few swipes. After I'm done removing my makeup I wash my face with water and a light cleanser that gets any remaining makeup residue or anything left over off and I've done! What I find astounding is that I work long days at work, and I wear what I'd consider maybe slightly more than average eye makeup. Due to the fact that I work long days I wear gel eyeliner because regular pencil liners always smudge, and I always have to have a base going from my eyelids to my brows if I want any eyeshadow to stick and not end up with major fallout or awkward creases by the last few hours of my workday. Regardless, this still does a gentle and awesome job! Love this stuff. I will definitely repurchase.

Lip Treatments -Too Faced - Lip Injection Extreme
rated 4 of 5
xomacgirl401 3/22/2011 12:54:00 AM

I like the lip plumping that it gives. It you use it once in the morning and once in the night it does start to fill in any lines and plump your lips up, but only subtly. I didn't want anything crazy, but I did want a little more "oompf!!" to my lips and when applied once in the morning and once at night it does the trick. It's been about 3 weeks now, and I definitely notice a difference, even during the afternoon when I'm slathering my lips with gloss or chapstick. It's a good product if you stick to applying it religiously morning and night and don't mind tingling. Personally, I like the tingling, it kind of makes me feel like I *know* it's doing it's thing lol

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Asphyxia

This isn't my favorite product ever, but it has it's uses. I love using it for a highlight to add a subtle color to neutrals that I wear to work. The purple hue is barely noticeable which is something I like, but under the right light you see it a little. I like it, and I would buy it again. For me, it's the perfect highlight because it's shimmery, but it adds a teeny tiny bit of color that makes the highlight just a little interesting. Not so great for actual eyeshadow, though.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Deluxe Shadow Box
rated 5 of 5
xomacgirl401 3/22/2011 12:47:00 AM

I use this palette everyday and I love it!! I actually use the neutrals everyday for my work, because in my work environment, the other colors would be a bit too "shocking" and non-compliant with the dress code. But they're super fun when it comes to going out on the weekends/after work ;] Either way, all I can say about this palette is that I love it and since I use it everyday I'd recommend it to anybody looking for a mix of fun shades and useful/neutral shades for everyday wear. Perfect weekend and weekday palette with a beautiful mix of shades that really compliment each other and leave you with limitless possibilities. They aren't prone to fallout (which I find some other UD shades are), and they're shimmery and draw attention to your eyes in a way that makes them stand out (in a good way). I use the neutrals for work everyday, and I get a lot of compliments on my eyes/eyeshadow. My all-time favorite palette by them!

Self Tanners -St.Tropez - St.Tropez Tinted Self Tanning Mousse/Whipped Bronze
rated 5 of 5
xomacgirl401 3/22/2011 12:39:00 AM

This is the best self-tanner I've used! I used to go to tanning beds, but due to a recent cancer scare along with a complete lack of time, that is not an option I have. So I started looking online for some good self tanners, and I found this had the best review. At first, I tried a few cheap self tanners that I could get at CVS/Walgreens, etc. but I found that the reviews on this product were way better than anything else I tried (that all left me looking orange. Not attractive). Pros: - Brilliant naturally bronzed color! I've got very yellow pigmented skin (mixed German/Swedish/British/Hispanic descent). This game me a healthy olive bronzed glow without looking fake and orange. That is the biggest plus for me. It looks really natural! - I do have sensitive facial skin, and this didn't make me break out. It did actually moisterize my face as much as my normal moisturizer does, so I like that it actually does help my skin stay hydrated. :) - I've been getting non-stop compliments on how great my skin color looks; (when I tell them it's a lotion, people are shocked!!!) :) :) - Easy to apply and if applied with care, it is very easy. - I wait about 3-5 mins after fully applying this product to put on my clothes, and I don't get any gross left over bronzer rub-off on my clothes that I got with previous lotions, so I feel like this is completely absorbed. - Smells pretty good!! I HATE the smell of most lotion self-tanners. They smell disgusting. Maybe it's because this is a mousse? Either way, I hardly even smell this product. Cons: - By all means, invest in an application mit, latex gloves, or even saran wrap. If you don't, expect to wash your hands after every small section you do, or you'll wind up with awkward dark spots on dry parts of your hands (inbetween fingers, if you have any callouses on your palms before your fingers start, etc.) - The price. Although, for the price, I do get a good glow. So it really comes down to you get what you pay for. Either way I still wish it were cheaper, but hey - what're you gonna do lol - I don't like that sometimes I get a drip of brown when I'm putting this on, as in it will drip from the spout if I move my hand too quickly after a pump. This then ends up on my sink and sometimes gets trapped in the cap, and I like to keep my cosmetics clean, so I don't like brown streaks on my cans. It's cosmetic and just a pet peeve of mine. FYI: Honestly, when you first pump it out it's nasty! I was shocked! It looks like this brown bubbly mud. It's nasty looking, but it goes on really smooth and is super light weight, which I like. I can't stand thick lotions and creams on my skin. Either way, it looks nasty, but once you rub it in all the way (make sure you do!), it comes out great. Don't forget to shower 4 (or more) hours after you apply completely. I usually apply after I take a shower (and exfoliate!) at night, and then shower in the AM and I get a great golden glow. Overall, I HAVE recommended this product to my friends because I love it!! Even though it is pricey, it's given me a beautiful color that I'm completely satisified with. :) To me, it's worth the investment. I live in New England, so anywhere from September to May.......I'm all pale. This lotion has changed that and also prevents me from going to a tanning place and leveraging risks over feeling beautiful. I love that it gives me a beautiful, healthy, sexy glow that actually looks natural on my skin tone without having to take the time and risks of going to a tanning salon. Plus I get to use it at my own convience at home!! What's better than that!? In short - wish it were less expensive, but I'll continue to pay the higher price because I love the look it gives me. If you have the extra money to splurge on yourself on this instead of a few tanning sessions, go for this.

Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Moist LipWear - Mocha
rated 4 of 5
xomacgirl401 3/26/2010 1:56:00 PM

This is actually my favorite drug store lipstick!! It was only $ .97 at Target, and I liked the color. It *is* moisturizing and I don't find it to be too greasy, it feels more like chapstick which is refreshing to me and my dry lips. It's a nice brown color, with a little hint of golden shimmer in it (if you add a little shimmery clear lip gloss it amplifies the glimmer in it which compliments the brown nicely). The scent didn't really bother me and I didn't find it overwhelming. I didn't actually notice the scent until I read the last review. It does smell, but I didn't notice it till I literally opened the cap and sniffed it. When it's on my lips I never noticed the scent. Either way, I love how it looks and I love the smooth creamy texture on my lips. I would recommend this to anybody who's looking for a cheap price for some pretty decent quality lipstick with good texture and good moisture. Definitely going to repurchase!

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Metallic Duo - Gilded #806
rated 4 of 5

I recently bought this e/s and I'm really impressed! I didn't have a problem blending it at all. I used a primer underneath, and this doesn't crease or budge. I didn't find the shimmer too much and I loved how the colors complimented my skin tone. The colors are so rich and stay put great!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Deep Truth
rated 5 of 5
xomacgirl401 1/5/2010 8:47:00 PM

Absolutely my favorite MAC color =] I LOVE this color and use it so much that I'm going to need another pan. I don't really use it all over my lid, but on my outer eyelid and crease it's perfect! I love using it as a liner, too. I've found so many looks that this pairs so well with that I couldn't consider my makeup collection complete without this color. It's so blendable, has amazing pigmentation and compliments so many skin tones, eye colors, and e/s colors.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Honey Lust (Lustre)
rated 2 of 5
xomacgirl401 1/5/2010 8:45:00 PM

Probably my least favorite MAC shadow. It's a beautiful color in the pan, but there's so much glitter and fallout that I wish I had considered that more before I bought it. It's okay to sweep right below the brow if used gently, but other than that...I don't really have much use for it =/

Eye Shadow -MAC - Tilt
rated 4 of 5

Bright, shimmery, buildable, and beautiful! That pretty much sums up my feelings about it. As a few other people said, definitely a mermaid-y color. I have to agree with that, too. I love it, and it looks great with so many other MAC blues =]

Eye Shadow -MAC - Overgrown
rated 5 of 5
xomacgirl401 1/5/2010 8:38:00 PM

This color is an old favorite of mine! I don't use it too much, and it is discontinued, to my knowledge. It's a great color if you have the right colors to pair it with. I love pairing it with Aquadisiac, Golden Olive and Electric Eel with some shimmer. It's crazy bright in the pot but a primer is DEFINITELY needed or it won't show up well.

Eye Shadow -MAC - parfait amour shadow
rated 4 of 5
xomacgirl401 1/5/2010 8:35:00 PM

I have a love-hate relationship with this eyeshadow. I love the color in the pot, but I hate how I have to build on it to get the deep purple I'm trying to find. This would be the perfect purple if it was more pigmented and a little darker, but I do love the shade all the same. I've had this shadow for a while and have made a fair dent in the pot. All the same, it's a beautiful color and blends well with a lot of shades.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Golden Olive
rated 5 of 5
xomacgirl401 1/5/2010 8:31:00 PM

I love this pigment! It's such a pigmented (...hence pigment lol), shimmer color that goes beautiful with all eye colors. I'm pretty fair (NC20), and have eyes that are mix of everything, and it looks good even with all those colors in my eyes. It blends so smooth and I love it! I don't think I'll need to purchase it again, because I've got a ton, but it's definitely worth a purchase if you need a light/medium green!
