Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
xoashley 3/13/2010 12:05:00 AM
This is my everyday, HG mascara. I buy it in the waterproof black, so I cannot account for regular or any of the other colors. I really enjoy using this mascara and I love what it does for my eyelashes. With the waterproof, I can attest to the fact that it definitely lives up to the name. I've cried numerous times while wearing it and it absolutely does not smudge whatsoever. I've never had flakes or smudging with normal wear, either. But, at the same time, it isn't so amazing that I am going to pay full price for it. I only buy it when Target puts it on sale (once, maybe twice a year) where you get two tubes for $10. If my current tube dries out/gets too old, and I can't find it on sale, I'll be going back to my other (cheaper) favorite, Maybelline Full n' Soft.

Highlighters -Bare Escentuals - Rose Radiance
xoashley 3/12/2010 11:55:00 PM
I got this in a mini size along with Bare, Pure, and Warm (with the full-size brush, all for $10 from my local BE outlet store!), and Rose is definitely my favorite (followed by Bare). It's a perfect blush color or highlighter and if used in moderation, I haven't had an issue with looking too glittery when used as an all-over face color like the box it came in said it was to be used as. With the small amount needed to get the pretty rosy sheen, I may be using the mini size for a long while!

Bronzers -Too Faced - Pink Leopard Bronzing Powder
xoashley 3/12/2010 11:44:00 PM
I bought this as a miniature at Sephora in the middle of last summer and I fell in love. Because it was a mini it didn't come with the brush so I simply used a standard blush brush, like my MAC 129. It is the perfect bronzer for day or night. The color is just right and the subtle shimmer it leaves makes my face glow. Through just half the summer and into fall (I use a different bronzer in the winter) I hit pan on the mini. Once it runs out, which will possibly be this summer, I will without a doubt be buying the full size.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Plum Foolery
xoashley 3/12/2010 11:38:00 PM
This is my second MAC blush (after Margin) and it's perfect. I'm a NC25 and it's easy to overdo, but with a light hand it's the perfect everyday color with just a hint of shimmer for my skin tone. If I ever run out, I will definitely be repurchasing.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Style Snob [DISCONTINUED]
xoashley 3/12/2010 11:30:00 PM
I bought this shadow on a whim as a recommendation from a MAC m/a and I'm very glad I did. It is what I wished Satin Toupe was. There isn't much difference between the two, though Style Snob is a bit lighter and is easier to blend IMO. I use this paired with Retrospeck nearly everyday as a perfect simple, natural eye look for class/errands/whatever.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Retrospeck (Lustre)
xoashley 3/12/2010 11:26:00 PM
I absolutely love this eyeshadow. I use it practically everyday over my Bare Study paint pot and it's a perfect shimmery (slightly sparkly, minimal fall out) base color that goes with just about every other eyeshadow I've paired it with. When I first purchased it I was afraid it was going to have a lot of glitter fall out because it honestly looks like it would but I haven't had an issue with it at all. Will definitely be buying again when I inevitably hit pan.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
xoashley 5/12/2008 7:16:00 PM
I got this mascara at CVS during a bogof sale, just because I wanted to see what the hype was about. I picked up the waterproof formula because at the time I didn't have any waterproof mascaras. I have to say, this is my HG mascara. One coat, and it's perfect for normal, everyday lashes. Two coats, it's your everyday mascara glammed up a little bit. Three coats, and it's time to go out. I don't have any clumping with this at all. It makes my lashes full and long without any of the stiffness of other mascaras. And when it says waterproof, it means it. I've worn this through heavy bouts of crying, pouring rain, and even in the shower before I wash my face, and it stays put. I reach for this mascara daily for school, for after school meetings, for going out on the weekends, and for just about everything else. When I run out, I will without a doubt rush to buy a replacement.

Lip Treatments -MAC - Lip Conditioner
xoashley 3/2/2008 10:19:00 PM
I like this balm. It's soft, smooth, and smells great. The only thing is that it's really just... ordinary. I don't see anything really special about it that I don't see in my regular chapsticks that I already have. Even though I like it, I don't see myself buying it again. I feel like I'm paying for MAC being printed on the side because I can get the same kind of results from my $.99 Chapstick.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Teal
xoashley 3/2/2008 10:06:00 PM
This is pretty much my favorite eyeliner. I love the color. A great peacock-y teal blue that really makes my eyes stand out. It makes my hazel (on the green side) eyes look much more blue. I found it a bit creamier than the black. It makes it so that I pick up a lot more product on the brush so I have to wipe a little of it off before applying it, but it doesn't bother me too much. I don't like the brush it comes with because it is scratchy and makes the line pretty thick, so I use my own Essence of Beauty angled eyeliner brush. I would absolutely repurchase again in a heartbeat.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Eggplant
xoashley 3/2/2008 10:00:00 PM
I bought this eyeliner when it was seven dollars at Target, but I definitely would have paid full price. I love the color. It goes on a little dark compared to it in the pot, but I can still tell it's purple. I am not a fan of light purple eye makeup at all, so the deep color is a definite plus for me. I found that this one was a bit drier than the black and the teal ones I have, but not TOO dry to the point that I can't work with it. I don't like the brush it comes with, so I use my Essence of Beauty angled eyeliner brush and it's perfect! I don't see myself running out anytime soon, but if I do, I think I would definitely purchase again!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaEyes Creme Eyeshadow - #196 Champagne Toast
xoashley 1/28/2008 10:02:00 PM
well, I bought this and cafe au lait at least two years ago because I thought they were pretty. Then, I had no clue what a primer was or anything... and I never would have tried putting on more than one eye shadow color at a time! Now that I'm actually into decent makeup, and I starting hearing all the raves about using these cremes as bases, I pulled them out again. For me, it works decently as a simple, very sheer, almost wash. It leaves a little shimmer on my lid but not much color. A lot of people say using this keeps their eye shadow from creasing, but this is not the case for me. It creases just as easily as any regular eye shadow without a primer does. Good for a dollar, I guess. And IIRC, the cremes are being discontinued, but I won't be running out to stock up.

Palettes -Urban Decay - Urban Ammo Eye Palette
xoashley 1/28/2008 9:36:00 PM
I was a little hesitant to buy this, just because I'm one of those people that would have rather bought all ten shades in full size rather than have the little samples in the palatte. But I got it anyway and I am very pleased. It's a good way to experiment with color. The ten shades that come in this palatte are actually really great! It's a good assortment and range of colors, but they still can work together. The only one I don't really like is grifter because I'm not a big fan of purple/lilac-y eye shadow, but that's just me. I wouldn't buy it again because if I ever run out of one of the shadows, I'll just go buy a full size of that color. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied! An excellent buy. ***edit: (March 2, 2008) this has become my daily go-to palatte! The colors I go to most often: Polyester Bride, Sin, and Maui Wowie!

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Lively #308
xoashley 1/22/2008 10:35:00 AM
I picked this up at CVS as a BOGO. I wasn't really looking but a friend wanted the blue duo so i just picked one. The beige looks slightly shimmery in the pan, but on my lid there is no shimmer at all. And on my light skin, it kind of makes my eye look dirty. The dark, foresty green has a little shimmer on me once applied. It goes on a lot darker than anticipated; It looks blackened, like the other reviews say. If you look close enough, though, it does show up green. It goes on a lot "greener" wet as a liner and I like it a lot more that way. Honestly, it'll probably be the only way I'll use it. The compact isn't so bad on top, but the bottom compartment with the mirror and applicators is completely useless because trying to apply makeup in a mirror that tiny with sponge-tip applicators is just about impossible. I think, even though my use of this is so limited, I'd still buy it again if I ever ran out because the more I look at the green as a liner, the more I really like it.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - ABC Gum Matte
xoashley 1/15/2008 9:20:00 PM
The first time I really even looked at this actual shade was when a Sephora lady put it on me and it looked great! So I bought it and I got home to try it out... and I wasn't so in love anymore. When applied just by itself, nothing over it or under it, it is the perfect base color because it matches my skin color so well. But if I put it on over a base or primer, and even when I put certain eyeshadows over it, it makes my entire eye look like, bad, fake tan orange. I keep trying to find different ways to use it, but it always fails. It will be going back to Sephora.
