Powder -Palladio - Wet/Dry foundation
xkimberr 1/3/2013 10:20:00 PM
Love this foundation. I use it dry and have not used it wet but will definitely give it a try soon. This foundation is dirt cheap yet work wonderfully. Evens skin tone, does not cake and gives a natural airbrush look. Can look powdery depending on your tools so BE CAREFUL. If you use a brush that is not stiff enough, then it just sits on skin. However, with the right brush (I use bareminerals flawless application face brush) you will be in love. It only comes in 6 shades but the beige one is perfect for my skin tone. If you can find a match, get this product!

Liquid -Almay - Clear Complexion Blemish Healing Makeup
xkimberr 1/3/2013 10:12:00 PM
I use to wear this in high school and continued to wear it for a while before I decided to start investing more in my makeup. It is ok! Offers light coverage and never broke me out or gave my sensitive skin a rash. It is a bit watery so it doesn't go on thick. But there are a lot of cons. It dries cracky, especially around blemishes. It does not cover dark spots or really red blemishes. It also is very drying and settles into lines and pores. Also, when you first put it on it seems to match your skin but it dries a lot lighter and almost powdery. I won't repurchase and don't really know why I used it for so long!

Mascara -Bare Escentuals - buxom lash
xkimberr 1/3/2013 9:48:00 PM
My favorite mascara so far! I have very short, stick straight, asian eyelashes that are very stubborn. I personally like my lashes to look very curled and that was what I asked when I went to Sephora and this was recommended to me, and I love it! It lengthens, curls, separates with NO CLUMPS! It looks very natural, so if you are looking for a ton of volume then this is not for you. It does not dry and crack and irritate my eye throughout the day either. However, I took off on lippie because I do get a little smudge in the bottom corner of my eye after a couple hours when I wear it to my bottom lashes. I am going to try a mascara primer though because I have had this issue with every mascara I have tried and think it may just be my lashes. Also, the product builds up at top of the wand and so it can smudge on the outside of your eye if you are not careful. Actually now that I think about it, a lot of product is on the wand in general so it can get a bit messy! But that can easily be prevented. Overall, I am happy with this mascara! If you are looking for more of a natural look (length, separation and curl, not so much volume) then this is for you!

Loose Powders -Chanel - Poudre Universal Libre

FINALLY! A setting powder that does not make you look like a ghost in pictures with flash. Even though it is a bit pricey, it is worth it. Gives your face a nice glow, and is the perfect finishing touch. I don't think my makeup looks complete without it now because it just gives you a natural glow and pulls all the elements of your makeup together (if that makes sense). It also comes in three colors so don't be nervous that it'll just sit on top of your makeup and not blend. A must have!

Highlighters -NARS - Orgasm Illuminator
xkimberr 1/3/2013 7:28:00 PM
I like it! I went to Nordstroms looking at Albatross blush as a highlighter, but the SA said that it was too light on for my olive/medium skin. She then recommended this in Orgasm and gave me a sample. I don't use it as a highlighter all over my face because to me it is too shimmery and glossy to do that, I think I would look like a mess! However, I now use it right on the apples of my cheeks as a dewy blush. It is perfect for that and makes the face light up. I do have one complaint though. It can dry a bit streaky, so you must be careful with your application. I use my finger to apply and must remind myself that a little (and I mean a microscopic amount) goes a LONG way. You must apply in a circular motion, and definitely rub it in. This isn't a pat on type of liquid or one that you can just swipe on, it must be rubbed in! Overall, I am satisfied with it and will buy the full size when my sample runs out.

Lips -Tarte - LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Stain in Lively
xkimberr 1/3/2013 7:02:00 PM
NOT worth the money. I am a lipstain fanatic and only use chapstick or lipstain because I think gloss is too sticky and lipstick is too drying and messy. I love this color, and the color payoff is amazing but it smudges so easily! It almost has an oily feel, not in a hydrating way, where the product slides all over your lips and around your mouth. And after a couple hours, it becomes drying. Although this is to be expected with most stains I was just disappointed by the price and hoped this one would be different. It also does not go on evenly and takes time to apply to look decent. I think the Revlon Just Bitten stains are better and the Smitten color is very similar. I returned and bought the cheaper and was more satisfied! Pros: Color Payoff Cons: Smudgey Oily at first Drying after time Price Overall: NOT WORTH IT!

Bronzers -Too Faced - Chocolate Soleil
xkimberr 1/3/2013 6:57:00 PM
I was looking for a powder to contour with and decided on a matte bronzer that I could also use when I am tan in the winter. I was assured by the SA that this was the best and I was NOT disappointed! Even though it seems shockingly dark in the pan, it melts into skin flawlessly and gives an awesome color. Must use with a light hand though! The packaging is adorable, as with all Too Faced products and the price is reasonable I think for the quality. Bronzer is definitely an item where quality is a must or you may look like an oompa loompa. One flaw that I did notice with this product is that if you use a liquid highlighter or blush over it, the color becomes muddy so be careful. Otherwise 5 lippies because it is not orange, does not irritate my sensitive skin and is such a flattering color to contour or use all over the face. Everything I was looking for. And the smell... YUM. Love!

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain- Smitten
xkimberr 1/3/2013 5:02:00 PM
I am a lip stain fanatic. I don't like the stickiness of lipgloss and tend to find lip stick on my teeth so I only use chapstick or lip stain. And let me tell you, this is the BEST! I originally bought Tarte LipSurgance Matte Lip Tint in Lively, which is a comparable color to Smitten, and returned it. Although the color payoff on the Tarte product was great, it smudged like crazy and was a bit drying. And it was SO expensive! I then tried Smitten and fell in love. The color is buildable, so you can wear during the day with a quick swipe or layer for night. It NEVER smudges and the color goes on evenly. It even fades evenly. I put it on before I leave the house and even though I bring it with me, I don't have to do a touch up for hours. I always need my lips to be hydrated so I layer chapstick over and under this but it is not necessary because this stain is not drying. This stain is better than products 3x the price. LOVE!

Concealers -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Concealer
xkimberr 1/3/2013 4:34:00 PM
HG! My biggest skin issues are the redness around my nose, minor blemishes, darkness under my eyes and large pores that liquid makeup tends to settle in and this concealer works wonderfully to cover my flaws. Blends in easily and looks natural. The color selection is wonderful too with different cool and warm tones. I use a powder foundation over it when I am putting a full face on and the powder does not "stick" to the areas where the concealer is. However, I don't even need to wear foundation with this in the daytime because it makes my skin look flawless. I would recommend to anyone and everyone! 5++ Oh and I like the packaging. I use the wand to just dab the product on my problem areas, then use my finger to blend but it works well with a concealer brush as well. What I have found from use is that when applying it to your under eye area, don't use a brush or stroke the product with your finger. You must dab or else it settles into lines (but this is the same with all concealers).

Highlighters -Smashbox - Baked Fusion Soft Lights - Baked Stardust
xkimberr 12/26/2012 10:18:00 PM
Just bought this product today so I have only used this one time but I definitely will update! In the dead of winter, I become VERY pale in comparison to my summer color. I wanted to buy a set to contour my face now, but items that are also useable when I am dark. I decided to buy a matte bronzer for shadowing but had no idea what to use for highlighting, when the SA recommended this. When she showed it to me, I did not like how shimmery it looked in the package because I assumed it would look like pixie dust on my face. However, when she put it on my arm, it hit the light so beautifully. Even though it has a decent shimmer, it more just catches the light and glows. I love it! As soon as I got into the car, I tried it on my face. Perfect for highlighting the nose, cheeks, chin, everywhere! You almost can't overdo it because it hardly has a color, just a warm glow. I also tried using just the white part on the inner corner of my eyes and it worked just as well as MAC pigment in vanilla for making eyes brighter. However, I gave it 4 lippies because the packaging is awful and it is a little tough to get it on your brush. You have to swirl it around a bit to get a decent amount on the brush. Maybe it is brand new, I will update. Overall, If you are looking for a highlighter, this one is definitely worth checking out!
