Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Thoroughly Therapeutic Honey Shea Butter Body Butter
xkatherinemintie 2/9/2011 7:42:00 PM
BB's Honey Shea Body Butter gets a mixed review from me. The scent is horrendous! It has an overpoweringly stinky-sweet, almost musty scent. And it's something I smell ALL day long. Ick. This does not smell faintly of honey or shea - it is a very intense smell. **I should mention I used this on my baby belly trying to prevent stretch marks later in my pregnancy - so I was using a LOT of this product and maybe that's why it stank to high heaven. Besides the smell, the product wasn't so bad. It is thick and creamy, and applies smoothly. It's definitely heavier than normal lotion, in a greasy but not waxy way, but it's body butter so that is to be expected.

Treatments -Burt's Bees - Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
xkatherinemintie 2/9/2011 7:33:00 PM
The best part of this product has to be the smell. It's divine. It definitely makes my cuticles & nails look nice, not quite as nice as regular cuticle oil but the scent makes it worth using. It really smells like fresh lemons or lemonade, not at all like anything synthetic or chemical. I have to apply it more frequently than regular cuticle oil - I usually apply this product before bed each night. This is a great alternative to cuticle oil though, because it's a balm not a liquid, so application is much less messy and can be done anywhere. The packaging is cute but not as functional as I'd like. As with so many other burt's bees products, this would be better in a stick than in a tin. Although the tin looks small, it will last a very long time. Definitely worth the $6, but you could never tell by just looking at the size.

Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Mama Bee (by Burt's Bees) Belly Balm
xkatherinemintie 11/6/2010 8:14:00 PM
This product smells wonderful. It doesn't have any synthetic fragrances added, so the scent is a light and natural one. I found it's best to apply this right after a shower. It makes the balm easier to spread, so you end up using less, which ends up feeling like light moisture on your skin lasting all day rather than a typical waxy balm. If you don't like the feeling of being 'greasy' or 'wet' all day, be sure to use minimal amounts of this product, or apply at night to give your skin time to absorb. My baby belly just started showing, and this being my first pregnancy I can not report on stretch marks yet, but hopefully Mama Bee will help me avoid them as much as possible. I will continue using this product after my pregnancy as a moisturizer (it's doing wonders for my feet & elbows this winter already)! The only thing I would improve about this product would be a change in the packaging. I'd love a more secure lid; although I haven't had any problems with it falling off, I certainly don't want any. I can't imagine trying to get this off the inside of my purse.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Eden
xkatherinemintie 11/6/2010 8:02:00 PM
I want to start off by saying, with this product, less is more. If you use a normal amount on your lids, they will look caked and thick, and wrinkly. If you apply just a little bit, this product works like magic. Your eyeshadow will stay on all day and night, through heat and humidity. Eden is such a bright tawny color that, again, if you use too much, you will have weird coon eyes. Use just a little and it will brighten your eyes up (good as the brow highlighter but not too intense) without overdoing it. This primer works well with matte, shimmery, and glitter shadows. The difference when applying loose pigment shadows with and without this product will really amaze you. (So pretty with urban decay's loose pigment shadow in 'baked') Overall, I like this product and would buy it again. I use it a lot as a bright base with darker shadows, to achieve that smokey look without having to go too dark all over.

Hair Color -Clairol - Herbal Essences Hair Color [DISCONTINUED]
xkatherinemintie 11/6/2010 7:53:00 PM
I used the shade [70 Black Stilettos - Bright Black] The color went on easily, and the conditioner is wonderful. Had a bit of a reaction to the dye a few hours after applying, just itchy & slightly red along my hairline, which is normal for my sensitive skin. My hair was silky and super shiny for weeks after using this product. I loved the richness of the color, never faded even a little. (I use color protection shampoo and conditioner, and use the weekly deep conditioner too as well). The only reason I am giving this product 3/5 is because of that last sentence... this color NEVER faded at ALL. And I was expecting it to fade, like most normal hair colors. I know black hair dye is like a curse that's impossible to get rid of completely, but I really was expecting it to fade just a little bit. But nope, my hair stayed jet black. If you like to keep the same shade of hair color, or don't mind going darker every time you dye, this color may be for you.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Moisture Sensitive Skin
xkatherinemintie 9/17/2010 1:16:00 PM
This works perfectly for my skin. A lot of other moisturizers are too thick or too oily, eventually causing me to break out. But this one is light and still provides moisture and spf 15 without being overwhelming. The smell is very neutral, and the lotion rubs in quickly and absorbs quickly. The worst thing about this product is the packaging. Where is the lid to the bottle?? Really needs one, instead of a twist lock pump.

Gels/Soaps -St. Ives - Oatmeal and Shea Butter Body Wash
xkatherinemintie 9/17/2010 1:09:00 PM
Good value for the price; very moisturizing. The scent isn't too strong, and unlike most other oatmeal soaps I have tried, doesn't smell too much like grandma or cheap soap filler. This lathers very well with a bath pouf.

Cleansers -St. Ives - Naturally Clear Green Tea Cleanser
xkatherinemintie 9/17/2010 1:07:00 PM
Love this stuff. The scent great, and it doesn't have that harsh acne cleanser smell. It doesn't foam a ton, but it does lather enough to make the washing experience light and refreshing. It can make your skin a little dry (I have combination skin), but paired with my daily neutrogena facial moisturizer, it is perfect for me.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
xkatherinemintie 9/17/2010 1:00:00 PM
Pros: Huge brush and energetic packaging. Easy to find in a purse or makeup bag. Dries relatively quickly. Cons: Shiny black finish (I prefer matte black lashes to the 'wet' look). This product does nothing for my lashes in terms of volume, and it completely takes the curl out of them too. Even when I use an eyelash curler, and with multiple coats, my lashes look short straight dark and CLUMPY. Not a fan of this mascara, but some people swear by it...

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
xkatherinemintie 9/17/2010 12:57:00 PM
I love this mascara. Waterproof Dior Show is the best I have ever used. Clump free, lasts all day, no flakes, crazy volume (used with an eyelash curler but still looks great without curling) AND it is deep matte black. No cheap looking patent black shine. The only downfall is the massive price tag. I wish I could have a lifetime supply of this stuff, it is miraculous.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
xkatherinemintie 9/17/2010 12:52:00 PM
Tingly and fresh, but with very little sent and flavor. More on the waxy side than oily. I have to reapply 3-4 times a day, but I don't mind. This keeps my lips softer than any other chap stick I have used.
