Moisturizers -Burt's Bees - Natural Acne Solutions - Daily Moisturizing Lotion

Great packaging. That's about the only good thing I can say about this product. As with all new product I used it nearly one month, if it doesn't work, back to the store it goes. Obviously, I wasn't hoping for a miracle product or something that worked overnight bc that's none existent in the acne product world. However, I expected to see 'some' result so I can have an ounce of hope that at least it's working and my skin respond to it. This didn't deliver anything. I don't believe in any purging period bc I've tried other products b4 and my skin doesn't purge, it either works or it doesn't, it shouldn't get worst. This made my skin break out more, I got little red bumps all over my forehead. The product does go on very smooth. You don't need very much so it's good quantity for the price. It didn't leave me like a oily so that's another plus. But that's where it end. It's just your average moisturizer for combo skin, not an acne fighting product. It didn't get rid of or prevent for me, maybe it will for you....? If the return policy days were longer, I would have stick to it to see if it just takes a while to work but 30 days were coming to a close and I did get my money back so you should give it a try since everyone's skin is different.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Pears - The Original Transparent Soap

Uuugghh.. i really wanted to be able to use this soap as a face wash from all the reviews. I even stocked up on it from the dollar tree before I even tried it, that's how optimistic and hopefule I was. Sadly, it didn't work for me. It was too drying, even for my oily/combination/acne-prone/sensitive skin. As you can see, with that kind of skin type, I have a hard time finding products and this one goes on the 'fail list'. Dirt cheap. Packaging= bar of soap. I did cut up a sliver of it for easier use. Smell= natural & herbal, nothing fancy. Hopefully, it works for you.

Cleansers -Desert Essence - Thoroughly Clean Face Wash with Organic Tea Tree Oil and Awapuhi
xizilia7 10/21/2009 7:53:00 PM
This is the best bang for your buck. The gigantic bottle (refill size) is ~$10 or less for 32 fl oz. I expect this to last us about over 6 months. Can be found online or in health stores. Packaging: Since the consistent is too watery for pump bottles, it works better in a foam bottle and you increase the quantity, another plus. I had an empty murad foam cleanser bottle, so voila! green + efficient in one pump. Effectiveness: If you have been looking for a body acne cleanser/wash. THIS IS IT! My back and chest is finally clear. I need about 5 foam pumps for my entire body, yes even private parts. I have oily skin so this is not drying for my body. It may be for others, however, it gets rid of the dirt/build up/oil. As for face, it is SQUEAKY clean and can be drying. Therefore I only use it for deep cleansing; it get rid of all traces of makeup and olive oil (for my eye mu remover). As for acne fighting power, it didn't work for me nor did it break me out. Nothing really has worked for me product-wise so I didn't have high expectation. My DH uses it as well and it didn't break him out so it works for him. To each his own... Brush cleanser: works like a charm on your regular e/s & powder brushes. Liquid foundation/waterproofed use brushes took a bit longer to clean. Bottom line I will continue to buy this for the quantity/quality; it is amazing for body wash, brush cleanser and face wash for $10/6 months. There's nothing else out there that can beat it, if there is, please PM me. There's no fancy smell or luxurious feeling. It is cut to the chase squeaky clean, gets the job done.

Masks -Queen Helene - Apricot Moisturizing Mask
xizilia7 8/12/2009 11:14:00 AM
My skin: oily t zone/ dry cheeks, prone to break outs, incredibly sensitive (to chemical sunscreen, benzyl peroxide). It's oily enough that I don't use cleanser (too drying = more oil) or moisturizing regularly. Packaging is bad. It's very hard to get the product out since it's thick so you won't be able to squeeze all the product you paid for. This is the only exception for beauty products that I would want the jar version instead. The moisturizing agents did not work for me. My skin does not feel tight afterwards, actually really smooth and soft so I had high hopes. I woke up with all these little bumps the next day, then more pimples gradually begins to pop up. It's taken over 2 weeks for them to go away...uughh. I've tried this mask 3 times over the period of 4 months, not knowing this is what caused the break out until the most recent time using it. This had to be what broke me out bc it was the only new thing I've tried in my skin care routine. so if you have oily skin, I would not recommend this or the oils used in it for your face. thumbs down.

Eye Makeup Remover -Almay - Oil-free eye makeup remover liquid
xizilia7 6/28/2009 4:14:00 PM
This liquid/gel consistency MU remover is great. As w/ any remover, you must give it some time to interact with the wax from the makeup products. I gently pat this on my lids (w/ waterproof mascara and liner), keep my eyes closed while brushing my teeth or hair in shower. Then wash with my face cleanser over top of it, removes ALL traces of makeup, no hard pulling or tugging. Def. buy again and recommend. I like the squeeze tube, it lasts awhile for me since you don't need a lot of it. Easy to travel with and does not irriate my contact lenses. I got it dirt cheap at Big Lots.

Sorry, ::ahem:: is this kosher? Am I allow to review it like this? bc i HAD to share it w/ everyone! If you don't catch my drift. PM me or google it! Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Olive Oil
xizilia7 3/6/2009 9:27:00 PM
BEST waterproof eye makeup remover ever! hands down! I leave it on (w/ eyes closed of course) while i brush my teeth (w/ a sonicare 2 min timer), then i wash my face afterwards w/ my cleanser and it takes off everything! Natural and accessible! Prices vary depending on how much you're willing to spend since it's only on for a couple of minutes. Packaging: well just transfer to a small bottle. Of course, I'd buy this again and for my bread dipping! ; D

Brows -Unlisted Brand - castor oil
xizilia7 3/6/2009 9:19:00 PM
my HGs! mix review for two products. i mix equal parts of BB apricot baby oil ( or any oil you'd like to thin out the castor oil) and castor oil together (1tsp/ea), apply evenly to scalp only w/ a synthetic concealer brush, put in bun and place a showercap on for at least 6+ hrs (laundry/chores day) and shampoo twice out after. It has helped my hair become so shiny and there's baby hair all over the place since it's helping my hair GROW!!!!! I do this no more than twice a week since the castor oil can be drying. Got mine at publix. Will buy again and stock up! I also tried this for growing out eyelashes and eyebrows but it broke me out so I'll stick to my hair routine for now. UPDATE: 3.23.09 I look forward to chore days now so that I can do my oil treatments bc it works!!! I've only used it a couple of times but there's a dramatic different in my hair. It's fuller, shinier and there's baby hair all over bc it's GROWING! Ladies, it doesn't matter what s/c or styling products out there you use, you must try this and stick w/ it. You'll save money in the long run. Your hair will thank you and you won't have to worry about hair loss (supplements, menopause, treatments, pregnancy...) This is IT! HG for life!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Waterproof
xizilia7 2/19/2009 1:12:00 PM
This is a good mascara as far as DS goes. It is dramatic. I have it in waterproof but it still smudges and flakes by the end of the day. It does hold curls and volumize. Dries quickly, not a big fan of the big tube shape and wand. I will continue to use it until it runs out, however, i won't repurchase as I'm sure there's bound to be a "new and improved" one every 3 months or i'd try another DS cult fav.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Exact Eyelights Eye-Brightening Mascara - Black Pearl
xizilia7 2/1/2009 8:16:00 PM
I don't know how ppl are able to KEEP the curl with this duplicate of Lash Exact bc I absolutely cannot! I heat up the eyelash curler before. I still have to recurl after and it still won't hold the curl. How many times did I put "curl" in order to emphasize that this mascara is crap! I'm not even gonna go into the other claims bc it's well....gimmicks, a marketing move to keep their name in the "new" categories in ads. why couldn't they just stick with Lash Blast, read the reviews, put the marketing money and try to improve that? BC we will buy into any gimmicks if it "enhances" what we already have. Don't waste your money!

Eye Makeup Remover -Ahava - Advanced eye make up remover
xizilia7 1/20/2009 2:26:00 PM
this was effective of only being able to take off eyeshadows when I do swatches and playing around with color, without having to wash w/ a cleaner afterward. But I still do so bc it stings my eyes. It can't take off eyeliner or mascara, yet alone waterproof ones. This is another no-go, not impress, not repurchasing item.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - live-live Bee Yummy skin food
xizilia7 1/12/2009 12:11:00 PM
I msg the other reviewers here and some had dif. thoughts on it from their previous reviews and some still love it. I had such high hope and expectations for this products bc of all the different reviews on here and other bloggers. Good thing I never bought it but tried the sample. It worked the first days/nights I put it on. It absorbed quickly, feels nice, a very natural smell to it so I was happy. But then my skin started breaking out! when I had finally achieved clear skin by using natural AHA products. Oh i was mad and disappointed. I'm trying to think if I'm allergic to any of the ingredients. I thought it would work bc I'm taking this Royal Jelly supplement and it seem to work overall for my skin/hair. Would not be buying.

Cleansers -Burt's Bees - Orange Essence Facial Cleanser
xizilia7 1/12/2009 12:02:00 PM
so i'm of the few here that doesn't like this. My DH doesn't like it either bc we both broke out after the first try. We have similar skin type and to us, it feels like spreading pure vaseline on your face and try to wash it off. We did not wakeup w/ anything glowing, but a bunch of lil red bumps all over our T-zone. The cleanser is now sitting there in my pile of 'what-to-do' products. The smell is also a bit overwhelming. I usually love Burt's Bees bc I try to use all natural products but this is NOT something I'd buy (was bday gift).

Misc Beauty Tools -Tweezerman - Metal Eye Lash Comb
xizilia7 12/29/2008 11:18:00 PM
why wouldn't you love this? without this, it's like eating dry cereal. It's ok sometimes, but you wouldn't forgo milk altogether. That's this comb, you think you can do w/o it on some occasion when you're too lazy to take the extra time to brush through your lashes. But you'd notice the difference and miss it just as you'd miss the milk when the dry cereal is stuck in the back of your mouth, and the gulp of water doesn't compare. It doesn't matter what brand of mascara I use, the result isn't the same if I don't use this. I do this alone, w/o distractions, and when i'm not in a rush, just as I would putting on nail polish, but a slip with this is deadly. I also have the SK comb, but that's for my traveling bag. Def. a would buy again, but I already stash some ; )
