Skincare - Face -Clinique - Acne Solutions Line (all products)
rated 2 of 5

Meh ... I don't get this product line. It did nothing special for me. I believe it did hold back *some* blemishes because when I'd skip a day of using this out of laziness, I'd break a bit more. Because it didn't clear my skin; I'd still have some blemishes even if I used it religiously. It was a step up from the 3 Step System Clinique also carries, but nothing more than that. It smelled really chemically and bad and it was super expensive so I won't ever be repurchasing or recommending this product - it is simply not worth it.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Almond Oil Daily Hand & Nail Cream
rated 5 of 5
xificanthaveyou 4/25/2011 8:35:00 AM

I love this cream! I get very dry hands in the winter and this works like a charm; I don't even notice it in the day because this cream works so well. I'm not obsessed about hand creams so I have only ever tried two other hand creams, and both were not pleasant - one stung and the other had to be reapplied every time you washed your hands; it simply didn't sink in. This is far from either! It sinks in after half a minute, tops and it isn't greasy, nor stingy. The scent is nice, but can be a tad nauseaus if you've gotten used to it (or maybe it's because I've just had some heavy apple juice...)

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner - Black
rated 5 of 5
xificanthaveyou 4/21/2011 1:50:00 PM

This, as my first creme/gel eyeliner, has been a very good first-time experience for me. The brush is okay and, yes, useable, the liner itself is VERY black which is a major plus; it stays on for as long as you would expect and applies very easily. It does all the things it should plus some more. I used to use pencil eyeliner, but after I tried liquid I got a new favorite since the liquid has better color intensity and stays on longer. Then came cake liner that was easier to apply and stayed on even longer, plus it needed no setting. Now I've found a new love in this cream liner that has the best staying power and color intensity of all. It has the ease of application of a cake liner, the color of a liquid (but less watery and actually way better) and the price of pencils.

Polishes -Maybelline - Forever Strong
rated 5 of 5
xificanthaveyou 4/12/2011 9:59:00 AM

I love this nail polish! First of all, the brush is genius. It's flat and dome shaped and perfect! The color range is okay - there are a few ultra gorgeous ones, and then the rest is forgettable or hideous. I have one in Rose Nude which is the perfect wearable vintage, dirty, rosy pink and I have the clear one which is a case of its own. I love the clear one! I use it as a base coat AND a top coat, and my nail polish lasts for four to five days with only minimal chipping. It's a better top coat than the ones that are marketed as one, and it doesn't stain my nails since it acts like a seperater between the pigment in the colored polish and the nail. Staining is really all I worry about my base coat taking care of because I already have pretty strong, fast growing nails. I'm half way through the bottle and it's not going goopy on me or anything - it's still as perfect a polish as it was when I bought it.

Concealers -Maybelline - Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Concealer
rated 5 of 5
xificanthaveyou 4/11/2011 10:17:00 AM

First off, this is not going to work for you if you have darker than NW/NC30 skin and more than three major blemishes on your skin. Because this concealer is a drugstore one, it doesn't have a very large color range, which is mainly focused at fair skin. Also, it doesn't have the best coverage - which can be good if that's what you want - since it's a liquid and not in pan form. But since I have fair skin and not that many problem areas, this works great for me. It's also a great plus that it's mineral based! The only bad thing about it (for me) is the packaging - although it's great for fast application, it's really not sanitary. As for wear and tear, it's average. I don't notice anything, which I guess is good.

Lips -The Body Shop - Lip & Cheek Stain
rated 5 of 5
xificanthaveyou 4/11/2011 9:52:00 AM

This is my first lip/cheek stain. I've wanted one for a long, long time because of the raves about Benefit's Benetint, but that one is just too pricey and unaccessible for me. Luckily the Body Shop is way cheaper for me, and thet have a store in my town, so I got this, and I don't regret it the slightest little bit! There is nothing I don't like about this product. It looks natural and pretty, has amazing packaging, lasts all day, doesn't dry out like I thought it would, has no scent, doesn't dry before you get a chance to blend it out and it's affordable. Don't hesitate to get this!

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Boi-ing
rated 4 of 5
xificanthaveyou 3/14/2011 12:03:00 PM

The problem with Benefit products (especially face products) is that they don't work the best for what they're described to work for. This concealer claims to erase dark circles, but all it does in the eye area is cake and tug when you apply it. However, it's great for blemishes! It could be a bit more creamy, but it's excellent for redness. It does accentuate dry spots, though.

Concealers -MAC - select cover-up
rated 5 of 5
xificanthaveyou 3/14/2011 12:00:00 PM

Love this concealer! It does an amazing job of covering up dark circles without caking. The packaging is perfect and sanitary and the amount you get is huge. It doesn't work very well at concealing blemishes, though, because when you blend it in on those smaller areas, it disappears (it doesn't do that under the eyes, though, because you're covering a larger area). So it's not a two-in-one, but it's great for one of the main concealing purposes.

Top/Base Coats -China Glaze - Fast Forward Top Coat
rated 2 of 5
xificanthaveyou 3/10/2011 10:47:00 AM

This started off being a good enough top coat. Nothing special. But lately it has been getting on my nerves. After a few days it lifts off the polish in the sides of the nail. Today when I painted my nails it sort of shrunk on top of polish and pulled the very top of the color together and created a bit of shattering. Sure, you can only see it close-up, but it's annoying! I would not repurchase this product. The brush is too round and small and it doesn't do a good job distributing the top coat evenly fast.

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Guardian Angel Heat Protect N' Blow Out Lotion and Gloss Finish
rated 3 of 5
xificanthaveyou 2/27/2011 1:40:00 PM

This is an okay product - leaves hair kinda smooth and soft, and I do feel like it protects my hair against heat decently. But the smell is God awful. It smells like Barbies and kids' perfumes, and not in that subtle, fresh flowery way some kids' perfumes smell. Literally like toys and just plain disgusting. And the worst part is that it lingers. The bottle also seems kind of deceiving. It's curvy-shaped so that you won't get as much product as it seems, and it's not nice to hold. The dangly plastic thing it comes with is just tacky and I took it off immediately after I got it. What's good about the packaging is though that the name is clever and the cap sits well on the bottle. The spritz is not misty enough and too harsh IMO. So all in all - it performs decently, but packaging (and smell) is terrible. Would not repurchase.

Palettes -Too Faced - Eye Shadow Insurance Policy, High Impact Eye Shadow Collection
rated 4 of 5
xificanthaveyou 2/18/2011 10:00:00 AM

I love this palette! I'm sort of a makeup newbie, and these colors have me set in the shimmery department until I decide to play the field a bit more in the eye shadow selections. I love that it has both neutrals and colors so you can mix and match. I especially love Glamazon with Skinny Dip and a touch of Full Frontal in the crease! Full Frontal is super super pigmented, so even though that's a plus, you have to be careful if you don't want it all over the place. The only downsides to this palette is that Glamazon has a lot of fallout, Boy Toy doesn't show up without a pink base underneath and that I really don't have a use for Socialite and would pick any other shadow than this coppery orange color. ...And the full size Shadow Insurance only makes the palette even better :)

Toners -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner
rated 2 of 5
xificanthaveyou 2/18/2011 9:48:00 AM

This is such a bad product. It dried out my skin instead of drying out my blemishes, even in places I didn't use it. I don't know what else to say ... it does way more bad than good. The only reason why this got two lippies is the amount you get for your money and generally the policies The Body Shop has about animals and human rights.

Skincare - Body -The Body Shop - Deep Sleep Dreamy Pillow & Body Mist
rated 4 of 5
xificanthaveyou 2/18/2011 9:35:00 AM

My best friend has this, and I was with her when she got it. It smells so good! Like woods and trees and SO natural. She told me that it didn't necessarily put her to sleep quicklier, but the smell takes the mind away, which *does* make you go to sleep better, and I think that's the entire purpose of this product. The reason why this doesn't get five lippies is that all it has is the scent, and while it does work sleep-wise, it's nothing more than a homey scent.

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Lemon Aid
rated 3 of 5
xificanthaveyou 2/11/2011 7:05:00 AM

I have vainy eye lids, and this helps covering them up just fine. However, it creases so badly. I have to use eyeshadow primer underneath it, and that way it's not a very clever product, since I could just as well put on a cream eye shadow in stead of this yellowy stuff that looks God awful if you put on more than just enough for it to show up. They should have it not crease, because it's just another cream eye shadow (in a very unflattering color for an eye shadow, might I add) when you have to use primer under it. I won't buy it, but I probably would if it didn't crease.

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - That Gal
rated 1 of 5
xificanthaveyou 2/11/2011 6:56:00 AM

This is such a useless product to me, it does nothing. Thankfully I got it in the Confessions of a Concealaholic palette so I didn't splurge on nothing. It's not even a primer, it does nothing of keeping your foundation on all day and it feels very heavy on the face. The color is just awful and it smells funny. I tried it as a blush because of the pinkish color, and it didn't show up at all. I'm not much of a highlighter-person, but I tried it for that, too, and it still wouldn't show up. A wet, pink cream is basically all this is.
