HOLY GRAIL STUFF HERE!! this stuff covers anything! when I was younger me and my friends used to use the foundation when we went out, because we all loved that 'flawless' (caked) look. I decided to try the concealer, because I now feel it is definitely better to have a natural base and coverage only where you need it. I'm so glad I did! this four pound tube is seriously so good- it won't completely cover a really red pimple, but it hides it really well without being dry, and works a miracle on undereye bags. quite a matte finish but blends nicely into foundation, I do find when I'm abroad it can slip around a bit but when used minimally and set with powder it lasts me all day in england. I find the colours vary even in the same number, for example I used colour 2 and sometimes certain tubes are pinkier than others but I just search through to find one best suited to me. not any darker colours either which is a shame for people with deep skin tones. packaging is fine for the price, I have about three floating around in handbags etc because it's just so good!!

Treatments -La Roche Posay - Effaclar Duo
rated 1 of 5
xalliewallie 1/21/2013 2:16:00 PM

as with many of these reviews I heard of it from youtube, and really wanted it to work. I've struggled with acne since I was about 15, quite seriously between 16-17 and now I'm 18 and after various antibiotics it is pretty manageable, although my skin is still shitter than most of my friends :( so I thought i'd give this a go at a time when I had a few more spots than usual. I started off applying it both morning and night after cleansing, and everyday I would wake up with more and more painful bumps under the skin, as well as more of the little yellow heads I was used to. I carried on for a week or so, because I thought it might be 'purging' my skin but it looked worse now than before I started using it, so I just stopped and went back to my normal routine. because I thought if it was causing me these painful spots I wasn't used to, it probably wasn't worth carrying on! I would say be very careful with this product, especially if you are very acne prone like me

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 5 of 5

I really like this foundation! I have the version for oily/combo skin, and there is also a version for drier skins. The finish is kind of satin on my combination skin, at first it applies quite dryly but I use a good moisturiser underneath and use my hands to work it in a bit more after applying with a brush. I find most of the time I don't even need to powder because it leaves a really natural effect on my skin, and throughout the day on really becomes dewy, not oily! the coverage is quite full, but depending on the way you apply it it still looks natural. the packaging is annoying- it doesn't have a pump, and compared to other drugstore foundations it is on the pricier side, but there are some really great colours, all quite yellow toned which I love! would definitely buy this again! looks fine in photos too despite the flash :) ooh also .. estee lauder own revlon, and after trying both this and estee lauder double wear I can definitely say they are REALLY similar. I've heard online they are the same which isn't true, but this is definitely a great dupe for it!

Blush -Avon - True Color Powder Blush in Earthen Rose
rated 5 of 5
xalliewallie 11/30/2012 12:30:00 PM

this is my favourite cheek colour! it is warm in tone, but not orangey. on my nw20 skintone it works equally as a blush on the apples of my cheeks with a darker contour, or lower down as a sculpting powder on days were i'm keeping my face simple! considering the price you get a lot of product, and I have only just hit pan after using it every day since July! the packaging isn't the most luxurious but is surprisingly sturdy. I will repurchase this again and again as it is the perfect colour, especially when you're wearing a red lip and need something subtle on the cheeks!

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Visibly Clear 2-in-1 wash mask
rated 5 of 5
xalliewallie 11/30/2012 12:27:00 PM

this is holy grail stuff right here! NOTHING sorts my skin out like this, even changing to a different wash over the weekend leaves my skin looking awful. it has a weird consistency, kind of thick and creamy so doesn't lather up when you wash your face with it. but OH MAN it really does the job! unclogs my pores without turning the bumps into spots, fades spots quickly, and using it as a mask leaves my pores tight and clean. the smell is also really pleasant and clean. if you have problems with acne and oiliness, this is the wash for you! :)

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector for Combination to Oily Skin - Light
rated 3 of 5
xalliewallie 11/30/2012 12:25:00 PM

Very mixed feelings about this product! firstly the 'light' colour isn't really that light, but on my nw20-25 skin it works quite well, and is nice and yellowy and sunkissed looking. the formula is great too, applies nicely with a kabuki brush and doesn't cling to dry patches despite the oil free formula (which reeks of alcohol by the way!) I find it lasts beautifully if I don't powder it, and just give myself a blot and a powder halfway through the day. However, despite the 'non comedogenic' formula, this does give me a few bumps especially round my chin. No full blown spots but definitely does clog my pores abit, which is bad really considering it is advertising it doesn't do that! I love the finish and formula though, so have continued to use it and would repurchase. Just bear in mind if you have VERY troublesome skin you could have a problem!

Bronzers -BeneFit Cosmetics - HOOLA
rated 4 of 5
xalliewallie 5/17/2012 12:47:00 PM

I really like this bronzer! it is a nice matte contour shade, because the colour isn't too orangey, more a tanned brown colour. it doesn't work for me as an all over face colour as it is too dark and matte for my fair skin, but i love it none the less! also great for the crease of the eye during the day just to add more to a plain winged liner or muted eyeshadow. the box i also like, really cute and easy to chuck in your handbag without worrying about damaging the product inside (COUGH laguna) probably wouldn't repurchase, simply because i haven't even dented this one so far!!

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki (was SS197)
rated 5 of 5
xalliewallie 5/17/2012 12:27:00 PM

this is an amazing brush! the first kabuki I have tried, and I am NEVER GOING BACK! not cheap but I think you have to pay this much for decent brushes really, and this is far beyond decent! I've tried it with many different liquid foundations and it works great, definitely gives you fuller and more even coverage than with fingers, especially when bronzing up your skin with a darker foundation. it is even better with cream foundation, so streak free! i don't find it that hard to clean, but then again I put the foundation onto the back of my hand or lid of my powder and dab the brush in, rather than squirting straight onto the brush head. every girl needs this brush!!

Treatments -Joico - K-Pak Intense Hydrator
rated 5 of 5
xalliewallie 5/17/2012 12:24:00 PM

I LOVE THIS STUFF. the smell is heavenly, like fruity milkshakes. but it actually works too! I prefer to use this as my conditioner every time I wash my hair, because I have bleach in it and it can get quite dry and ratty. when my hair was VERY damaged I didn't see a great deal of help from this so just stopped using it. after a few haircuts and deep treatments and more normal hair, I have come back to this and am really enjoying it again, it makes my hair shiny and feels strong, and doesn't leave it greasy and slippy. It is quite pricey considering I use it every time I wash my hair, but I'm still on my first bottle and really want to try some of the other range now! probably not hefty enough for a deep conditioner for me, but a lovely product :)

Powder -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Medium [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
xalliewallie 5/17/2012 12:19:00 PM

I am still very unsure on this product, it definitely depends on the condition of my skin! some days it goes on lovely, and just sets my foundation but leaves a nice 'dew' to the skin still. other days, it clings to dry patches and spots, and goes orangey and patchy through out the day! for me this isn't ideal, and given the price i expected something a lot better! wouldn't repurchase, it just isn't for me..

Blush -MAC - Dame
rated 4 of 5
xalliewallie 5/17/2012 12:14:00 PM

actually quite impressed! bought it on a whim as I am more of a peachy girl, but it is a lovely colour! leans quite purpley on my skin as I build it up (it can be quite sheer unless you slap it on), but I love this as I think bright pink cheeks are just too much on my complexion! I actually dropped this on holiday, but it was easily pressed back into the pan with the bottom of a makeup brush (LOL) and although it lets a little burst of dust out when I open it, it is still usable and travel-able. I really like the packaging too, although it is pricey so definitely think hard about what shade you are going to buy

Bronzers -NARS - Laguna

I was so excited to get this as it is mega hyped up in the blogging world! the price always put me off, but I figured the size made it quite acceptable, as you get quite a lot of product. the packaging feels quite luxury in my opinion, and is easily cleaned with a makeup wipe (a lot of people seem to hate that it gets dirty quickly.. not a problem I don't think) however, two weeks later I dropped it on CARPET and it smashed! was absolutely gutted :( the product is so crumbly that I couldn't smush it back into the pan as I have before with a smashed mac blush, and it also made it harder to use as the brush picked up too much product, making it from a nice sun kissed bronze to orange on my skin. I had to throw it away and still haven't found the courage to fork out for it again!

Liquid -MAC - Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation
rated 3 of 5
xalliewallie 5/17/2012 12:05:00 PM

this is the only mac foundation I have tried, and I'm not sure I would another after this! it is recommended for drier skins, and as I am combination the formula works fine for me, although I do find it clings to dry patches. also not a fan of the smell, quite playdoughy and I hate to say it but I think it MAY break me out a little, which puts me off wearing it for long periods of time. also the colour; I got nw20 which is usually a standard match for me but it looks a little orangey around my hair line and again drier parts. the coverage is meadochre, doesn't cover my acne scarring particularly well on it's own. however I do like the squeezy packaging, easy to chuck in your bag etc and definitely one of the cheaper mac foundations! I will persevere with it but not holy grail material!

Blush -MAC - Melba
rated 4 of 5
xalliewallie 5/17/2012 12:01:00 PM

i really like this blush :) the colour is a lot more 'neon' on my skin that I would have liked. in the pan it looks kind of peachy, but on my skin it definitely leans more coral/red. the formula is lovely! blends beautifully, although if my skin is feeling particularly dry it can look patchy towards the end of the day. no complaints about the packaging, it isn't the most luxurious or sturdy but I like it! only quarrel is the price, although i guess it is worth it as I haven't even made a dent in it yet!

Liquid -Jemma Kidd Makeup School - Light As Air Liquid Foundation
rated 5 of 5
xalliewallie 5/17/2012 11:57:00 AM

LOVE THIS FOUNDATION. quite hard to get hold of but if you search around the internet it's possible, and I found the cheapest place to be beautybay.com. the formula is amazing! i have quite a lot of redness and acne scarring as well as active breakouts, and although it doesn't cover EVERYTHING the formula is so buildable and with concealer my face looks as near perfect as it has for a long time! it also glides over and dry areas yet mattifies oily areas, and i find it lasts me all day without any powder! I apply with a kabuki but it works just as well with fingers for a sheerer coverage :) I bought the shade 03 towards the end of summer which was a mistake realistically as I am quite pale, but I can actually make it work by blending it down my neck. all the colours are yellow based but i think this is fine because really who wants pink prawny skin? no breakouts either! definitely holy grail when i repurchase in a better colour for me!
