Crème -Cover Girl - Simply Ageless

I love this foundation! Color: Yes, it runs lighter than usual. Usually I wear Ivory foundation in the Winter (I'm a redhead), but in this foundation I wear the Buff Beige, the color that I usually wear in the Summer. Coverage and Texture: The texture is creme to powder more or less. The coverage is buildable, so a little more around the nose and on any red spots covers them quite well. It even covered a couple of hormonal pimples and usually the ONLY thing that covers those is mineral makeup. It doesn't settle into lines, touches up quite well and pretty much looks like my skin, only better. I also like that the 22 spf sunscreen is physical; chemical sunscreens irritate my skin. Packaging: The packaging is fine, I really don't understand what everyone is complaining about on that front. It actually makes sense since you can take it with you like you would a compact. Conclusion: What really sold me on this foundation - I wore it for the 1st time today - a hot 22 year old kid hit on me and said he thought I was 26! It was the nicest thing anyone has said to me all year (ok, so it's only the end of January, lol). But seriously, if you think it makes you look chalky, take it back and buy it in a darker color and you might just find that you've changed your mind about it.

Conditioner -Alterna - White Truffle Conditioner
rated 4 of 5

I received both this and the shampoo as a gift for my birthday. I agree with other reviewers that the smell is odd, not cheap, just a little strange, but it does not cling to your hair, so IMO it's not that big of a deal. Honestly, I was a little skeptical about what it would do for my hair. My hair has been extremely damaged in the last year from processing and nothing I've used has done much to help it (I've used just about everything!). My hair is naturally course anyway, and the additional damage has made it downright unmanageable. The shampoo leaves my hair feeling a little dry while I'm still in the shower, but using the conditioner afterward detangles it nicely. After about 5 uses my hair was noticeably softer, smoother, less frizzy and more manageable. On the downside, while the bottles are pretty, they are unwieldy and, of course, it costs a fortune. While I like it, the cost will probably keep me from buying it for myself.

Skincare - Face -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - 55% Lactic Acid Peel
rated 4 of 5

I love this as a weekly peel. I don't care for mechanical exfoliation and this is great replacement. Pros: hurts less than a glycolic peel, is great for sensitive skin, lightens acne scars and hyper-pigmentation, softens blackheads, brightens skin, helps keep skin clear of minor breakouts. This peel is not strong enough to do anything dramatic in one use, but it will improve texture, tone and clarity of skin over time. I've already repurchased and I'll buy it again and again. I can't be without it.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - EXTRA VIRGIN Coconut Oil (All brands)
rated 5 of 5
xTKOx 11/26/2008 3:17:00 AM

I LOVE coconut oil! I use it for nearly everything. I remove makeup with it, use it as a conditioner, shave cream, moisturizer, hand and cuticle cream. Everywhere I use it, it leaves me softer and smoother than before. Only downside is that my dogs always want to lick it off of me when I use it as a lotion, lol.

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Vanicream for Sensitive Skin SPF 30 and SPF 60
rated 4 of 5
xTKOx 11/26/2008 3:12:00 AM

This review is for the 30 SPF. I'm very sensitive to chemical sunscreens and this product is a lifesaver! I hate the way chemical sunscreens feel and get into my eyes. This is fragrance free and does not migrate into eyes. Like most physical sunscreens it does start out slightly white, but it blends in easily. I put it on after my moisturizer and let it soak in while I get ready for work. After about 10 minutes the whitish cast is gone and it has mostly sunk it. I dust my face with mineral makeup and my skin looks flawless. I love this sunscreen and I will never use anything else.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Cyclic Nano Silver Cleanser
rated 5 of 5

Just for reference, I've had acne pretty much my whole life. Right before I bough a bar of this stuff I had had 6 deep cysts in only 3 weeks. As soon as one would begin to heal, another would crop up. Since I began using this product I've had 1 cyst. And that cropped up only a day or two after I'd started using it so it was probably on its way already. This has been the one and only product that has stopped my cystic acne. I still break out monthly - but now I get small pimples instead of cysts. And all take those over cyst any day of the week. And, if I'm diligent about using this before and during my period I only get one, maybe two. For a girl who has tried almost everything under the sun and had none of it help - this has been a god send. I don't care about the price - it's worth every penny. One small word of warning - it will dry you out some - I don't recommend it for people with dry skin.

Gels/Soaps -Dove - Cream Oil Shower
rated 5 of 5
xTKOx 6/27/2007 5:10:00 PM

This review is for the Dove Cream Oil Body Wash in the Creamy formula, Cherry Blossom and Almond scent. I positively love this stuff. The lather is like nothing I've ever used before; thick and rich from start to finish. Really, you hardly need to use any at all. It's the very first body wash I've used which doesn't leave me dry. I don't even need to use lotion when I get out of the shower. It works as a shaving cream too. And it smells divine in the shower but doesn't cling to you after you get out. What more could you ask for. I will buy this again and again. I don't understand why so many reviewers can't get this stuff to lather. A little in my puff and I have suds galore. I don't care about the petroleum and sulfates - this has been a godsend.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Pore Refining Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
xTKOx 5/1/2007 7:34:00 PM

As cleansers go this one packs a lot of punch for the price. The physical exfoliation is gentle which I love as I find most physical exfoliators too harsh and abrasive. It contains both glycolic and salicylic acid. Since these product are only effective while ON the skin I use a nickle size amount, scrub down my whole face, leave it on my skin for 3-5 minutes then rinse it off. Since it is fairly stong I only use this every other day. Also, DO NOT let this stuff near your eyes - it will sting. While this product does not make your pores smaller (nothing can) it does keep them clean and that alone makes me pretty happy. I do not recommend this product for people with dry - very dry skin. The only reason I don't give it 5 lippies is because the name of the product is dishonest and that irks me.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Age Shield Sunblock Spf45
rated 1 of 5
xTKOx 4/19/2007 10:28:00 AM

Just to give a little background, I'm a fair skinned red-head with combination, moderatly sensitive skin that is prone to break outs on my chin and temples. I've been wearing sunscreen since I was 16 years old and I feel like I've been through nearly all of them. I had high hopes for this sunscreen as it overs broad spectrum UVA/UBV protection supposedly "six layers" deep (our skin only has 7 layers). So, I bought it. Not only did it sting going on (which subsided after a while), it balled up (as numerous reviewers have mentioned), took forever and a day to adsorb into my skin, migrated thoughout the day, and was definately not sweat proof (as I got some in my eyes while doing cardio). Never again.

Cleansers -Dove - Cool Moisture foaming cleanser with cucumber extract and green tea
rated 2 of 5
xTKOx 4/18/2007 8:19:00 PM

I had been using Dove's "Gentle Exfoliating Daily Facial Cleanser" and actually liked it quite a bit. Just for reference I have fair somewhat sensitive combination skin which is prone to breakouts on the chin and at the temples. This cleanser did a fair job of removing makeup, didn't make me break out (any more than ususal), and didn't irratate my skin. My only complaint was that it left my face a little tight. I decided to try Dove's "Cool Moisture foraming facial cleanser with cucumber extract and green tea" since it was labeled as "hydrating" and for "dry to normal" skin. I was hoping to get the same qualities as the other product minus the tight feeling apres washing. Oh no no. No such luck. Firstly, this is the first cleanser I have ever used that irritated my skin and made it itch immediately after using it. It also felt like it left a film on my skin that I could not rinse off with water. I don't know if it makes me break out because I didn't use it long enough to find out. Also, whatever you do, don't let it near your eyes. Even the smallest amount made my eyes bloodshot, which means I could not use it to remove eye makeup and since I hate using eye makeup removers, this poses a problem for me. No, I will not by this product again. The only reason I have it two lippies instead of one is that the product is pretty cheap. I still have 199 ml out of a 200 ml tube that I can't bear to throw away because it feels like such a waste. At the same time I couldn't possibly pawn it off on a friend since I hate it so - but everyone is different. Someone might like it. Just not me.
