Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
rated 1 of 5
xSelena 12/7/2012 12:16:00 AM

I thought it was suppose to be a simple mild cleanser that I could use with my clarisonic but it has been breaking me out so badly! It reminds me of my trial with cetaphil, nothing but little spots all over my face and painful under the skin acne! I have sensitive, acne prone skin so please be wary of this product if you do too. I read the reviews and thought it might be the purging stages but it got so painful after about a week I laid off it as as my esthecian advised and noticed an improvement almost immediately. Trying to give it the benefit of the doubt (and since I bought 2 big bottles at a very good price) I wanted to try it again and it's only been 2 days since and my skin is already getting as bumpy as last time! Such a shame, since I had such high hopes for it. I would not recommend this product, especially if you didn't have luck with cetaphil.

Cleansers -Acne.org - Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
xSelena 10/9/2012 1:35:00 AM

This is a great basic cleanser. It's very mild and the cleanser itself does not leave your face tight or dry after washing (it's more the BP). I agree with some of the reviewers that it doesn't seem to treat the acne (that's step 2's job, again, BP). But it's a good cleanser if you have sensitive skin. I used it (and the regimen) for about 5 months before my skin started to clear up, I've since strayed from this and have been hopping around the market. The high shipping cost is what is deterring me from going back to it but it's worth a shot if you're looking to try a gentle cleanser or checking out the acne.org line in general.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - ColorIcon Palette in #249 Vanity [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
xSelena 12/13/2011 9:59:00 AM

This is my favorite Wet 'n' Wild purchase to date and I've had some great experience with their other products as well. It's an amazing palette for everyday use and can transform your eye makeup from day to night quite easily. I love that it's versatile and just about anyone can use it because of the mix of equal matte and shimmery shades. The pigmentation is good and with some decent eyelid primer it will last through a hectic work day and then some! The matte ivory shade can be a bit chalky, but I find that it happens with most light shades in that range. Still, best purchase ever. What makes it even better is the pricing! I was lucky enough to buy all the 6 pan palettes for half off, but the retail price for $4.99 is still a steal. I've recommend it to all my coworkers and family members.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Waterproof Eyeliner Pen
rated 4 of 5
xSelena 2/3/2011 4:36:00 AM

Dirt cheap and works like a charm! Love it! I recommend this to all my friends that aren't too comfortable with liquid or gel/cream liners yet but want to upgrade from pencil/kohl eye liners. It's very user friendly, but the only thing is that I feel it dries fairly quickly, and I make sure the cap is fully closed. However for a buck you can afford to buy a new one every other month or so.

Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Eyelid Primer

One word: CRAP. A little too watery and doesn't even last an hour on my lids.

Eye Primer -Kat Von D - High Voltage Eye Primer
rated 2 of 5
xSelena 1/20/2011 9:15:00 PM

This is super thick which I'm not sure is a good idea for a primer. I tested it against my current primer and I will let you know the creases from my left eye (Kat Von D primer) were ridiculous compared to my right (LORAC) and it wasn't even 3 hours yet. Also, some parts of my shadow seemed brighter than other parts on my lid, a bit disappointed; not recommended.

Toners -Beyond Belief - Witch Hazel
rated 3 of 5
xSelena 1/18/2011 7:58:00 PM

I use this as a toner about twice a day for the past 5 months (at least) and while this is a very gentle and mild toner, I don't find that it had really helped my skin greatly considering I use it so often. I bought it to replace my Clean & Clear astringent which even when I purchased the sensitive one felt too harsh on my skin. Sometimes during the day when my face is feeling dirty and oily instead of washing my face (cause I don't want to dry it out) I will just go over it with this but nothing ever seems to come off, but I'll go over it again with the astringent just to make sure and sure enough my cotton round picked up dirt and what not that the witch hazel hadn't. It's an okay product, definitely not a miracle worker, but it's gentle enough to use on a daily basis. Now I just use it after I wash my face or after a mask. I won't be repurchasing and if I could I would rate it a 2.5; it's nothing spectacular in my opinion anyway.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Moisture Renew - Spotlight Beige [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
xSelena 1/17/2011 6:22:00 AM

This is my new go-to nude lipstick! I was pleasantly surprised to find that I didn't even need any lip gloss over it because most nudes I purchase wash me out and NEEDS to be layered with other products so I can get that perfect nude. Great color, and even better price since it was 75% off at CVS, but I hope that it won't be discontinued any time soon, but if it is STOCK UP! 100% recommended for medium toned ladies.

Polishes -Sinful - Mint Apple
rated 4 of 5
xSelena 1/17/2011 6:00:00 AM

If you're looking for a nice mint green color with gold shimmers, look no further. It's gorgeous and I get compliments all the time whenever I wear it. However, the only issue I have with it is that it may be a bit too thick compared to my other Sinful Colors polishes. As in if I apply two coats and a top or base polish on top it feels goopy, but for the most part I NEED two coats to make it even, so application is bit more strategic than most NP I own. In all the product is affordable with a top coat it last for a good week.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Salux Nylon Japanese Bath Towel
rated 5 of 5
xSelena 1/13/2011 4:23:00 AM

AMAZING! I can't believe I've never tried this before. I read the reviews on MUA and decided to give it a go and I have to say MUAers are completely right about this! There is no way I can have a real shower without it. It's great for exfoliating your body, though it may be a bit rough the first couple of uses. You can also use this with both shower/bath gels or soap and it'll lather beautifully with minimum product. Plus it's machine wash safe, LOVE it. Recommending it to EVERYONE!
Oh and I checked eBay and I have to say they practically double the price on there, I bought mine for only $2.99 (as much as a scrub/loofah) and on eBay it's $5.98 not including shipping, so if you can find it locally at an Asian store I would suggest try looking there first before ordering.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Airy Fairy
rated 4 of 5
xSelena 1/13/2011 4:03:00 AM

Every time I look for this it's always out of stock so when I went to a local CVS and didn't see it I wasn't surprised, upset since all the lipsticks were 75% off but not surprised. However, when I dropped by one I usually didn't go to and a few towns over there were TWO left! I was tempted to buy both of them but decided not to since I wasn't sure I was going to like, big mistake. I LOVE IT! It looks like a perfect nude-y pink against my tan complexion especially when it's layered with HIP's Euphoric lip gloss (or any baby pink gloss). If you already have Rimmel's Birthday Suit and it's a little too dark for your liking, give this a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Eye Shadow -Too Faced - Couture Eye Shadow Luxe - Label Whore
rated 5 of 5
xSelena 1/13/2011 3:55:00 AM

Label Whore has become one of my favorites! It came in my Enchanted Glamourland set and at first it didn't really catch my eye until I decided to try out the forest nymph look on the card included with the set and OH MY GOODNESS! It really made my brown eyes pop since it changed every time I moved. But each color (brown, purple, green) it transitioned to complimented my eyes. Once I hit pan I'll definitely purchase the single shadow.

Cleansers -Ponds - Deep Cleanser and Makeup Remover With Cucumber Extract
rated 3 of 5
xSelena 1/13/2011 3:38:00 AM

This product is very EHHH to me. It may be because my skin is too sensitive for it but RIGHT after application it starts to itch and if I don't take it off right after I apply it to my whole face, a burning sensation starts where I first put the product on (and I've never had an allergic reaction to anything before, plus there were no hives or anything so I think it's safe to say I'm not allergic to it). The first time I washed it away with warm water but the residue left behind was too much, I found that wiping it off worked better, even though I do wash my face after either way. I will say though, it takes off makeup like nobody's business, I mean I don't even leave it on for a minute and it takes off everything! If it weren't for the reaction to my skin and the nasty residue left behind I would repurchase.

Misc Beauty Tools -Revlon - Eyelash curler
rated 2 of 5
xSelena 1/6/2011 12:51:00 AM

This is one of the worst curlers I've ever used. Even no name brands did a better job at curling my lashes than this had. Doesn't hold a curl and really does take forever to get a decent curl. Skip this and save your money.

Polishes -Sinful - Sugar Sugar
rated 5 of 5
xSelena 1/3/2011 3:47:00 AM

One of my favorites. I usually like wearing my reds with no glitter or shimmer but this has the perfect combination of tiny shimmer that it works. Very festive color, application is easy and streak-free, even my 9 year old niece's self manicure came out lovely. Highly recommended and will continue to purchase over and over again. BTW: it just needs a touch of clear or a top coat over it to get that glossy bottle look.
