Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - Mood Lips Lip Palette
rated 1 of 5

This is basically nothing more than Vaseline and most definitely not worth the $24 price tag. I was expecting a product that would dramatically change the appearance of whatever lipstick I was wearing, but all this does is give a clear gloss to the lips.

Lipstick -MAC - Coppertime
rated 3 of 5

I was very disappointed when I opened the package for this lipstick. MAC described the color as "rich copper", when in fact it is VERY LIGHT copper with tons of frost. Unfortunately, this is going back to Gloss. I didn't even try it out as I could tell just by looking at it that this color would not work for me.

Highlighters -Prescriptives - Illuminating Cream Potion
rated 5 of 5

I love this! I recently turned 40 and have fine lines around my eyes. One sweep of this "magic" potion around my eyes and everything is just blurred. I use it under my mineral makeup, but you can use it over foundation as well. I also use it around my nose and it totally cancels out the redness. I will definitely be buying this again.

Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Dior Addict Lip Fluid
rated 5 of 5
witt2264 5/5/2005 12:34:00 PM

I purchased this online from Sephora on a whim. I chose the color #656 Soft Candy which the site described as a soft pinky coral. In person the color leans more to pink than coral, but it is a very flattering color. This has the most amazing texture -- somewhere between a gloss and a lipstick -- and the staying power is good. This arrived only yesterday and I have already placed another Sephora order so as to get another color.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Orgasm
rated 2 of 5
witt2264 1/17/2005 6:07:00 PM

Ugh. I was so excited to hear about this new gloss since I absolutely adore the Orgasm blush. I suppose it does look like exactly the same color, but it absolutely disappeared on my lips (other than the weird gold cast). Needless to say I was very disappointed and this is going back to Sephora. My coloring is light/medium, Stila 30 Watts, BE Medium.

Lipstick -Clarins - Le Rouge Pearl Shimmer (all shades)
rated 5 of 5

Emotion 115. I bought this purely because the Clarins model was wearing it in a magazine ad and on the gloss.com website. It is absolutely beautiful! It doesn't scream "PINK!" -- rather it is a soft watermelon shade with a lovely shimmer to it. I am using it together with the Clarins Heather Pink liner. I have light/medium skin right now and I believe this will take me right through summer and a tan.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Georgia ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
witt2264 1/23/2004 4:02:00 PM

I love this product! I have been using Dandelion as a blush and was excited to see the launch of Georgia. However, this doesn't work for me as a blush. Rather, I brush it lightly over my entire face as the final step in my makeup routine. Gives a nice, fresh glow and just softens my face. I suppose this would show up as a blush on someone very pale, but for me (light/medium) it did not. You could also use this just to highlight areas of your face. It smells fantastic, too!

Liquid -By Terry - Perfecting Glow Foundation
rated 2 of 5
witt2264 1/23/2004 3:57:00 PM

Let me start by saying this 1.1 oz. bottle of foundation is $72.00. I was so excited when I saw this on eluxury.com because it seemed like such a high-end foundation would just have to be fabulous. Wrong! This foundation promised to be "packed with shine-absorbing corrective pigments that absorb easily to conceal flaws and block the signs of fatigue." My T-zone was oily by mid-morning and the drier parts of my face just looked chalky. The bottle is nothing special, either, and I would even go as far to say that it is quite inferior to much cheaper versions. It resembles one of the older Dior bottles with the dipstick attached to the lid. Just doesn't seem very hygenic. Lesson learned: high price doesn't guarantee amazing results.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Bottle
rated 5 of 5
witt2264 11/18/2003 1:02:00 PM

This is my HG moisturizer for oily skin. I have tried many, many brands and have found that most of them leave a white cast to my skin and just dry out the top layer, leaving flakes. Hope in a Bottle seems to work deeper and leaves a smooth finish without overly drying out my skin. I use this in the morning before my makeup.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
rated 5 of 5
witt2264 11/18/2003 1:00:00 PM

This is Step 2 of my routine after using Philosophy Real Purity cleanser. This is my HG moisturizer and since switching to this my skin has never looked better. Philosophy promotes "makeup optional skin" after continued use of the skincare line, and I can honestly say that has been the case with me. I generally use Hope in a Jar at night and Hope in a Bottle (for oily skin) in the morning under makeup.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
rated 5 of 5
witt2264 11/18/2003 12:58:00 PM

This is my HG cleanser. I used to have about 5 different brands that I would switch around with all the time until I saw the founder of Philosophy on QVC. Since then I have used nothing but the cleanser, moisturizer and eye creme and my skin has never looked better. Her promise of "makeup optional skin" after continued use is true. I wet my face, apply the cleanser and can scrub it around my eyes and eyelashes and it takes off all but my most stubborn liners. Skin feels great when rinsed. I would recommend this cleanser to anyone looking for a great, mild cleanser.

Bronzers -Bobbi Brown - Bronzer/Blush Compact Duo [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
witt2264 5/7/2003 1:37:00 PM

I first ordered this in "Medium" and sent it back because the colors seems garish. When the "Light" arrived I thought the colors still seemed very bright. Almost sent it back but then couldn't stand not to try it. Boy am I glad I did! Both the bronzer and blush go on very soft and natural - much different than they look in the compact. Now, I am quite tan (I know, I know) and these Light colors still work for me.

Lipstick -Laura Mercier - Lip Kisses- Pink Sand
rated 5 of 5
witt2264 5/7/2003 1:25:00 PM

This is my first Lip Kisses purchase and I love it! The slim case allows you perfect application without a lip brush. Very moist formula with great staying power. Pink Sand is a beautiful color that I think would suit just about anyone.

Bronzers -Laura Mercier - Matte Bronzer
rated 4 of 5
witt2264 5/6/2003 6:06:00 PM

This is my favorite bronzer so far. Unless you have poreless skin, bronzers with shimmer tend to accentuate pores and flaws. This bronzer is totally matte, but very soft and healthy looking. Highly recommend for anyone over 30.

Powder -Shiseido - The Makeup Powdery Foundation SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
witt2264 5/6/2003 5:18:00 PM

I have finally found a powder foundation for my oily skin. This is fabulous! Works especially good over Shiseido Mattifying Veil. I would highly recommend this combination for people with very oily areas.
