Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Tanda Clear +

Tanda is a lifesaver. Its one of those products you never knew you needed and then once you start using it, you can't live without it. I use it right after my cleanser on a dry face and apply my creams after the treatment is done. Each treatment lasts about 3 minutes per area and these are the pros and cons i listed for the product! Pros: - reduces pimple size, redness and irritation within 24 hours - travel friendly - reduces oil production in my skin so it is less oily and acne prone Cons: - at first, your hand gets tired from holding the tanda on your face (it is a little awkward and it make look funny) - it buzzes rather loud and it takes quite some time to do your whole face (about 20-30 minutes each, once in the morning and once at night) Other then that, the pros definitely outweigh the cons! great purchase!

Treatments -Mary Kay - Microdermabrasion Kit
rated 4 of 5

Fine grains, affordable and great results! I use to use Kate Somerville, which is still a great product - but it costs an arm and leg. I tried Mary Kay Microdermabrasion because I got a free sample. It works great! Scrubs off gently all those dry skin cells and really brightens up my skin tone! Over time, I see my skin looking healthier! It keeps my products consistent since I use the Mary Kay cleansers and moisturizers and keeps the pH in my skin balanced. Mary Kay makes sure that all products are consistent within and that they can be combined with other products in their product line. LOVE LOVE LOVE

Cleansers -Mary Kay - Velocity Facial Cleanser
rated 4 of 5

I use to use this in high school and switched to acne products like Neutrogena rapid clear when I thought my acne took a turn for the worse once hormones kicked in. Little did I know that salicylic acid 2% products were way too harsh for my skin and only made it worse. I thought I had acne prone skin, but I just needed a consistent face routine. Velocity has now become my go-to product! Ever since I switched back to it (ive been using it for 2 months now), my skin has been in tip top condition! It does not have acne fighting compounds normally found in acne cleansers (like salicylic acid or benzyl peroxide), but it is great for blemish prone skin. I still get the odd zit here and there but still two thumbs up, my face feels so smooth!

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Green Tea tea-bag toner
rated 4 of 5
winniewyli21 1/2/2013 3:11:00 PM

A great find on Makeup alley! I read a raving reviews about this natural way to treat my face and it has become an addition to my everyday face regimen. After cleansing my face, I take the tea bag, put it into boiling water, and let it steep for a while. I wait until the tea bag cools and use it like a cotton pad. Then, I pat it around my face. I end off with sweeping the excess with a real cotton pad (so my face is not dripping everywhere) and add my moisturizer after. I have been doing this for about 3 weeks and it really helps reduce the redness and size of my zits. Only caution, I tried the cheaper store brand versus the expensive twinings brands and found the store brand works a lot better. Go for organics and stay away from the expensive stuff where they add more "flavours" and additional plants that don't work well with your skin. Drinking green tea is also a great anti-oxidant and helps your skin glow!

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Face Lotion with SPF 15
rated 4 of 5

I use the Healthy Skin Radiance Face Lotion with SPF (the skin brightening moisturizer with Soy extracts and Minerals). Its works really well and one of my top moisturizer favourites yet! Its light, smells nice and really does brighten up my face and reduce the look of scars. Its not oily, so its great for my acne-prone skin and I just need one pump to cover my whole face. Costs about $20 for a 73mL bottle, but it goes a long way. I use it night and day - have no complaints!

Hair -Got 2 Be - Rockin' It Encore Fresh Dry Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
winniewyli21 12/11/2012 9:18:00 PM

My biggest fear is overwashing my hair and overdrying it to shreds so I got into dry shampoos. I've tried Marc Jacobs, Batiste and finally Got2B. This is the best one yet I would have to say! 1) Marc Jacobs works but is $12 a can. Runs out way too fast is and pricey. 2) Batiste leaves really really bad white powdery marks in which i just rather not use it 3) Got2B is the winner! its affordable at about $5-$7 and it works wonders. No powdery mess and doesn't smell funky. Three reviews in one - you know what to do :)

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Body Envy Shampoo
rated 3 of 5
winniewyli21 12/11/2012 9:13:00 PM

I love the smell of this product but I wouldn't say its the best shampoo out there. You have to use the conditioner with this else it will dry out your hair fastttt. Works great for my fine hair and gives it a boost. Also washes out great and leave my hair clean feeling throughout the day. Worth the money but saying its the best shampoo out there is an overstatement...

Shampoo -L'Oreal - EverPure Sulfate-free Color Care Shampoo
rated 1 of 5

I was very excited about first trying out this product because I have really fine hair and FEAR I might be bald by the age of 30 (I lose hair when i'm stressed). Product fell face flat. Just like what it did to my hair. It made it FLAT FLAT FLAT. The shampoo just wouldn't wash out my hair properly and it made my hair look greasy, YUCK :( I paired this product with the conditioner and would not buy it again...

Skincare - Body -Bath and Body Works - Aromatherapy- Eucalyptus and Spearmint
rated 5 of 5

Love this line! I have the shower gel, lotion, massage oil, pillow mist, candles, and even bought the mini travel versions for the shampoos as well! It smells great and the smell gets addictive! The lotion isn't greasy so it's great for everyday use and all the other items in the line smell consistent in the different forms that it comes in (ie: the lotions smell like the shower gel, mist, etc). I find that when there is a whole line of items, they tend to smell different, but BBW did not disappoint! This is my favourite scent from BBW. I might just be obsessed! :)

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Age Shield Face SPF 55
rated 3 of 5
winniewyli21 12/10/2012 7:29:00 PM

On the more expensive side compared to other Neutrogena products. I would only use this in the winter time because it is a very thick moisturizer and would leave your skin feeling really oily in the summer (which resulted in me breaking out). Good in keeping the UVA and UVB rays out of my skin, no visible signs of wrinkles. Has a sort of plasticy smell... It's okay but not amazing

Treatments -Clinique - Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector

Too expensive and it made no difference to my uneven skin tone acquired from bad acne. I had to return it and was very disappointed. :(

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Spectro HydraCare Facial Moisturizer
rated 2 of 5
winniewyli21 12/10/2012 6:54:00 PM

I don't think this product is really that amazing. It seems like a really watery solution doesn't do much in terms of moisturizing my combination, acne prone skin. I believe this combined with the spectro gel as a power pair has pH neutralizing affects and helps reduce acne but I guarantee there are better moisturizers out there for acne prone skin. Did not work well for me.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Tea Tree Oil
rated 4 of 5
winniewyli21 12/10/2012 6:50:00 PM

Natural and works great on acne-prone skin. It zaps away zits slower than other topical ingredients like benzyl peroxide and salicylic acid but still works really well. I normally combine tea tree oil with salicylic acid, using it as a spot treatment and the zit should be gone within the matter of 3 days. Tea tree oil is also a really good antiseptic and works on cuts as well. The smell is very strong but i got use to it after a while and I would definitely recommend using tea tree oil for zits!

Scrubs -St. Ives - St. Ives Gentle Apricot Scrub
rated 1 of 5
winniewyli21 12/10/2012 6:42:00 PM

The difference between the sensitive brand versus the normal apricot scrub to me is: less beads, more other ingredients. With that said, the sensitive scrub did nothing for my dry flaky skin parts and the extra ingredients left a residue on my face and made it feel a lot more oily. I would recommend the original scrub over the sensitive scrub, but I have retired from St.Ives and am using ExfoliKate instead as an exfoliate and its great!
