Gels/Soaps -Shi Kai - Moisturizing Shower Gel
windsorsgirl 8/8/2005 12:21:00 AM
This is my favorite body wash up to date. Great ingredients, simple and convenient packaging, and a nice range of scents. My favorite is Lavender- it is quite soft and true to the real flower. Cucumber melon is quite nice as well, smells like actual cucumbers and melons, not the fake B&BW stuff. Makes a nice lather too, and doesn't dry out my skin at all!

Shampoo -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Natural Apricot Shampoo - Super Shine
windsorsgirl 7/19/2005 5:10:00 PM
This shampoo was disappointing. I have very thick and rather coarse and frizzy, and this shampoo not only smelled completely NOT like apricots (it had a nasty medicine/bitter scent), over time it made my hair greasy. This would probably work nicely for someone with severely dried out hair- and it is odd because mine is actually quite dry...

Hair -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Natural Jojoba Conditioner
windsorsgirl 7/19/2005 5:07:00 PM
Hmm...I think they reformulated this product. Not that I don't love it, but mine is not pink and definately does NOT have a nice smell. It's very medicinal, but the results are definately worth it! I recently switched to using all natural products, and I have seen GREAT results! As the previous reviewers have stated, you can use this all over your hair and not get tons of nasty buildup. I use this along with Natures Gate Clary Sage and Lemongrass shampoo and my hair is so much softer, manageable, and shinier than it has been in a looooooong time. Along with lovely hair, you also save tons of money as they give you a huge amount of product for a very low price (around five dollars).

Deodorants -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Apricot Deodorant
windsorsgirl 7/19/2005 4:59:00 PM
Yes, this was a disappointment. I recently have begun to switch all my b&b products to all natural ones...they are just loads better for my skin and I have already noticed a huge difference. Anyways. I bought this in the hopes of finding an all natural deoderant that works. This at first smelled nice but after a while it was overly sweet and sickly. Plus, it doesn't work. The main ingredient is corn starch. Oh, and the unscented one is even worse BEWARE it does absolutely nothing. I still love all natural products though- and Jason does make a fantastic hair conditioner!

Fragrances -Fresh - Sugar Blossom Eau de Parfum
windsorsgirl 6/11/2005 2:18:00 PM
A little background info before I start my review...I am a perfume phobe. I detest nearly all perfumes I smell, they give me headaches, turn my stomach, give me asthma...and just make me feel all around sick. And I can't understand this. Because so many things in the world smell so incredible and amazing. So why can't those scents be bottled, be captured in their loveliness? Why do they all smell fake, have an underlying whiff of plastic and perfume? Why?? So I test perfumes whenever I can, even if it gives me a whopping headache. With this one...it didn't happen. I sniffed...and sniffed again. Mm! Fresh, biting lemonyness at first, a little sweet, and then a caramel note comes out- not jarring, but a smooth base that sweetens to a point where it is almost dessertish but not quite. Nice! Although I love the IDEA of sweet fragrances, they all just smell...fake. Even if you can tell what they are trying to be, that bit of plasticy nastiness just ruins it all. This smells nice and gentle to me as well. Not that I would douse myself in it. But one light spritz, and you're good to go, fresh and lemony (not pledgey at all, don't worry!) and a tad sweet. Now if only they would come out with a roll-on...I don't know if I can afford the $50 price tag.

Fragrances -Annick Goutal - Petite Cherie
windsorsgirl 5/31/2005 11:02:00 PM
Oh, so disappointed with this one. I recently tried the EDT at a Nordstroms counter, expecting a powdery, fruity sweetness. I got something almost EXACTLY like Benefit Maybe Baby, but without the strong jarring florals. Although this is blended one million times better, the fruit scents aren't distinct enough to smell like anything but "sweet" which is annoying...its not a very pleasant sweetness, you get sick of it VERY fast, and are then longing for the powdery drydown which...never came on me. So sad.

Other -Bath and Body Works - whole store
windsorsgirl 5/29/2005 10:50:00 PM
Bath and Body Works, contrary to popular opinion, is one of my least favorite stores. The packaging is cheap, plastic, and everything seems wasteful. The atmosphere is overly bright, loud (obnoxious music), busy, and depressing, and on top of that, the products are AWFUL. They all smell so cheap, and don't work AT ALL. The only product I ever liked was Banana-Rama-Ding-Dong hand soap. It smells like Trix and makes me laugh everytime I read the name. I can never get out of B&BW fast enough... ugh

Blech! This smells like toothpaste! No rosemary at all, just that horrid fake mint smell. Very disappointed.

Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Oil Free eye makeup remover

This is the best makeup remover I have tried. It removes all makeup easily, without leaving a nasty oily film behind, doesnt sting, and is very gentle. I have repurchased twice!

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Melting Marshmallow Moment
windsorsgirl 2/12/2005 8:02:00 PM
Oh, this stuff was just awful! I recieved this cute pink bath bomb thingy as a gift, and thank god I didn't spend my own money on it! The scent is so artificial, like chemical coated faux strawberries, I could hardly stand it. Bravely, I plopped it into the water, expecting it to fizz alot and make up for the nasty fragrance. Hm...it's not doing anything. Oh! It's fizzing a little! Maybe it'll get stronger? No...no its just fizzing at a steady, slow, teeeeeeeeedious pace. Meanwhile my bath water is getting cloudy and greasy feeling. Gross! I had to remove this thing when it wasn't even finished bubbling. And thankfully, the scent didn't linger on my skin. ARGH.

Foundations -Wet 'n' Wild - Keep it real [DISCONTINUED]
windsorsgirl 1/23/2005 11:44:00 PM
Wow! I just applied this and am SUPER impressed. My skin is adolescent combo dry with acne...which sucks. My skintone is SUPER pale but very pink as well...so anyways, Im always searching for something to give me that healthy, glowing porcelain look, without a huge price tag or heavy, opaque coverage. This stuff works! I applied with a cheap foundation brush very quickly on my forehead, nose, cheeks, and my skin looks loads more even and glowy. It settled a teeny bit in dryness on my forehead, but when that goes away, I will have flawless skin. YAY!

Fragrances -BeneFit Cosmetics - ... maybe baby
windsorsgirl 12/26/2004 10:09:00 PM
I recieved a large sample of this in a sephora order, and was really let down. The floral scents are thick, headachey, and fake smelling, like rotted old petals in a refrigerator. They completely overpower the peachy/apricoty notes which are trying to come to the surface, but are just suffocated by the incredibly fake smelling plastic bouquet of flowers. Hate to rain on this parade...

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - *Aloe Gator Cherry Lip Balm SPF 30*
windsorsgirl 12/23/2004 1:38:00 PM
HG Alert!!! I recently went skiing and my BonneBell lipsmackers just werent cutting it. Although they smell delish (the reason why I buy them), their moisturizing properties and lack of SPF just werent cutting it. But where would I find a yummy smelling balm with SPF AND some proper moisturizing properties? Enter Aloe Gator Cherry lip balm. It cost me $2.25 US- cheeeap! The scent is delicious- smells like maraschino cherries, or grenadine, or a Shirley Temple without the soda. YUM! I was worried that it would smell cough syrupy, like most cherry scents. It moisturizes my lips beautifully, and the rather thick texture lasts. Plus, the SPF 30 is FANTASTIC. A must buy IMO.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - American Crew - Body Wash
windsorsgirl 12/5/2004 10:53:00 PM
Although this is a men's body wash, I still use it and really like it. Its a super comforting and masculine scent that feels like a hug. Here is how the scent is described- "A unique fragrance for men containing spice and citrus to create a subtle, clean, masculine scent." I usually HATE citrus scents, they give me a horrible headache, but this is so subtle it keeps it fresh and comforting. Would make a great gift to a SO or DH. Moisturizing properties are OK, the scent doesnt linger that long (good thing, I don't want to smell like a man!), but leaves you feeling clean.

Eyes -MAC - COCO BEACH
windsorsgirl 12/2/2004 10:38:00 PM
I got this pigment in the MAC Holiday '04 Pigment charms set, and this is my least favorite pigment out of the three included. It is a very reddish bronzey, which smoothes out to a coppery color. I find it very difficult to get it in a thin line, which is the only way I could wear it without looking sick. Just way to orangey, and not in a good way. Lovely shimmers though and smooth texture- would maybe look better on someone with a more golden dark skintone?
