Crème -Merle Norman - Total Finish Compact Makeup

I used this makeup years ago as a bumpy-faced teenager. Now, as a bumpy faced 30 year old, I have rediscovered it, and it's just as great now as it was then. If you have any skin imperfections, this is the makeup for you. It not only hides my blotches and bumps, it even does a pretty good job at covering my really dark undereye circles. It does not feel like a mask, and also, it does not dry out my already dry skin. The coverage is excellent, and it wears well too. It is not advertised as a long-wearing makeup, and it doesn't have the stay-on ability that makeups like ColorStay have, but it does stay on through the work day and into the evening. The packaging is good, and the sponge that comes with it is everything you could ever want in a makeup sponge. I have never found anything better to hide my skin problems. I plan to keep using this for a long time to come.

Self Tanners -Estee Lauder - Go Tan Sunless Towelette
wildflower5227 3/22/2004 3:13:00 PM
I have used a number of sunless tanners, and this is hands-down the worst of them all. First of all, it is ridiculously overpriced. I bought it anyway, because I read in a magazine how great it was. I can only guess that the magazine in question was paid a large amount of money for this endorsement. First, it gave me very little color. Second, the color it did give me was very strange, almost a yellow-ish tone. Third and worst, it streaked like crazy. I had streaks all over my body, much worse than anything I've ever gotten with any drugstore tanner. I used one towel and gave the rest to some other brave soul who still wanted to try it. My advice is save your money at the EL counter and buy some cheap stuff at Walmart instead.

Eyeliner -Revlon - Wet/Dry Eyeliner- All Shades
wildflower5227 3/8/2004 10:07:00 PM
I bought this in two shades - stormy and blackest black - this weekend, and so far, I am quite impressed. The color selection is limited, at least at my local Walmart, but this stuff has staying-power. I put it on dry this morning, and I've had it on for over 12 hours and through an hour long sweaty workout. It's still not gone. I admit it's faded somewhat, but there is still a visible line. It also goes on really easily, in a nice smooth line. When I want to take it off, it comes off with eye makeup remover without having to use any force. This is much better, in my opinion, than the ColorStay liner. This is second in staying power only to my favorite - styli-style. I will definitely purchase this again.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Wear Infinite Long Lasting Powder Eyeliner
wildflower5227 3/8/2004 10:02:00 PM
I really wanted to like this, since it comes in such pretty colors, but I just don't. I got emerald, which is a gorgeous turquoisey-green. I love the color. The liner goes on easily, no tugging or pushing required, which is good. It also makes a nice smooth line without really needing any smudging. The downside is that the wear is anything but infinite. It's gone in just a few hours - maybe four hours tops. For a special occasion lasting a couple of hours, this would be great. For a long day at work, though, it is not nearly lasting enough.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals ALL

I bought this after hearing over and over how great it was on several message boards. I got light (#2) which was a good match for my skin. It took a while to learn how to put it on without making a mess (I use a damp, flocked sponge), but once I got the hang of it, I was mostly impressed. It feels light and natural, does a good job of evening out skintone, and stays on well without getting oily or changing color. My only complaint is that it does not provide a huge amount of coverage. On good-skin days, it is great. On bad-skin, bumpy days, I have to use something else b/c this just doesn't hide it. Overall, it's a good product, especially if you have a smooth face.

Eyeliner -Styli-Style - Line&Seal

I bought these in bluestone, tanzanite, and smoky quartz, and they are awesome! It goes on easily in a nice, smooth line and stays on all-day long. It literally does not budge until you take it off. They're only $5, so they're really a steal.
