Tools -Unlisted Brand - Seacret - nail buffer
westcoastgirl 9/16/2009 11:09:00 AM
Okay, I have not written a review in a while, but now I am compelled to do so on the whole Seacret company and products as a whole. Yesterday while shopping in the mall with my two little ones we were attacked and I do mean attacked by one of these pesky, annoying salesladies in one of there little booths that you always have to walk past. Now I have walked past the Seacret booth many of times and was able to ditch them with out to much of an effort. I NEVER give in to high pressure sales. Well that is until yesterday. I am so angry at myself for allowing to be hypnotized by this lady. I had let my guard down for whatever reason. I had my hands full with carrying one child, bags etc... She started with offering me a sample (sucker for samples) Well, I will remember this technique and will NOT fall for it again. Anyway to make a very long story short I gave in and bought one (I got two for the High Price of one) I guess that is supposed to make me feel better. Anyway, the buffer, oil, lotion and file are NOTHING special. I could have gone to Target or Sally's and bought the same type of products that do the same thing for a fraction of the price. And There are no refunds with Seacret. Of course she did not tell me this. I only found out after I got in the car and looked at the receipt. Do not fall for there pushy sales. You will hate yourself for it later. Mark my word I will NEVER fall for this company or any other that uses high pressure sales to sell there not so great products. My wall is back up and will not be broken. Lesson learned. Oh by the way I give them a big fat 0 for overall rating. So the lippie that you see above subtract it. I dedicate this review to the sales lady that pushed this kit on me. She told me and my kids to spread the word about there products and that means the most to her. Well this one is for you.

Polishes -Orly - Catch the Bouquet

I didn't like this color on me at all. It is sheer and bright at the same time. I had to put three coats on to get an even coverage which I would not mind but it did not look good. The texture was rough with the small amount of glitter in it made the three coats look lumpy. I returned it.

Crème -Vincent Longo - Water Canvas
westcoastgirl 9/17/2008 10:51:00 PM
I liked the idea of this foundation being 72% micro water. It sounded soothing and good for the skin. I bought it in bisque the color was fine. The amount that you get for $52.00 was small. I do not like the compact at all. You have to buy the travel compact to get a sponge or to even have a place to store a makeup sponge and it cost an extra $14.00. The first day I wore it. I noticed my face itching. I do not know why but all day I found myself wanting to itch my face. Also the coverage is too light. After having it on for only a few hours, I looked in the mirror and saw area's where the foundation had worn completely off. Not good for such a high priced foundation. Needless to say, this went back to Sephora along with the compact.

Cleansers -Bare Escentuals - RareMinerals Renew & Reveal Facial Cleanser
westcoastgirl 7/20/2008 11:08:00 PM
I like this cleanser. I was not sure what to think of it at first so I got a sample at Sephora and used it first and then I went out and bought the full size bottle. And once you get the hang of it, it is easy to use. I remove all of my makeup first with eye makeup remover and then Mac makeup remover cloths for removing makeup on my face and then I wash with this and I am really likeing it. So far I have not had any problems with it what so ever.

Blush -Bare Escentuals - True all over face color
westcoastgirl 7/20/2008 11:01:00 PM
This is my favorite all over face color. It is flattering for any complexion. I am fair and it adds a nice glow and a little bit of color. I do have problems with my jar leaking into my makeup bag, but other than that this is a great staple in my makeup collection.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple High Foaming daily cleanser
westcoastgirl 7/10/2008 11:05:00 PM
I wanted to like this and at first I did. I like the light texture and lots of foam. But just like the regular formula this also broke me out something awful. The foaming formula has a lighter scent cleans well but it is just not for me.

Polishes -OPI - Princesses Rule

This is my favorite color for my fingernails. It is sheer enough to match any pink color that I use on my toenails. It is very pretty for such a sheer color. It has lots of microshimmer in it. Love it.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Redness Solutions Daily Relief Moisture Cream
westcoastgirl 5/28/2008 11:12:00 AM
I wish that I could say that I liked this moisturizer but I can't. It just does not sink in the way there CX Soothing moisturizer does (not sure if they have discontinued it or not). I did not like how it felt on my skin. I tried using the smallest amount thinking that I was just appling too much, but it did not help. I returned mine and I will not repurchase.

Moisturizers -Clinique - CX Soothing Moisturizer
westcoastgirl 5/28/2008 11:01:00 AM
This is the best moisturizer that I have used. Before this every moisturizer that I have tried has broken me out or made me oily. I bought this several months back on clinique's website and now I do not see it there. I hope that they are not discontinuing this moistuizer. I do not like the new redness relief cream it just sits on my skin and does not sink in. The CX Soothing moisturizer sinks right in and I do not even know that it is there. No breakouts at all Great stuff.

Cleansers -MAC - Makeup Remover Wipes
westcoastgirl 5/26/2008 11:14:00 AM
Love these! They remove all of my makeup so easily and then I wash my face after because the wipes do leave a residue. But that does not bother me because I would wash my face after using anykind of makeup remover anyway. I love the packaging too.

Bronzers -MAC - Skinsheen Leg Spray
westcoastgirl 5/9/2008 9:27:00 PM
I am loving this so far. I bought mine the other day in the lightest shade (medium dark). It is a great shade for my very pale skin. You do have to be careful when you spray it out. It can spray all over if you are not careful to aim it just right and only a couple of inches from your skin. It sinks right in and looks very real, not orange or fake at all. No smell (which is great). I really wish that MAC would just keep this all year. I like to use bronzers all year long not just in the summer. In the winter this is just what I will need. I took one lippie off because of the price I am hoping that it last a long time, but I do not know how long it last yet. Very happy so far.

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - Lift Concealer
westcoastgirl 4/4/2008 9:09:00 PM
This is a very good concealer. I bought the #1 it blends in great, it covers well even helps fill in fine lines. It is not dry and cakey like a lot of other concealers that I have tried to use under the eyes. It brightens my undereye area too. The price is not bad for the big tube that you get. I will repurchase. Very Happy.

Hair -Paul Brown - washe elite
westcoastgirl 4/2/2008 12:06:00 AM
This used to be my favorite shampoo. It worked well on my hair, and USED to smell great. The last time I bought this, I bought the huge bottle like I always did and it no longer had that beautiful fragrance. Instead it smelled like glue! bland and awful. So I have been trying to get through the bottle but have not been able to finish it off yet. The same goes for the resurrect conditioner but I think the smell was even more bland than the shampoo. I even emailed them to ask them what happend to the wonderful scent that they used to have and I never got a response. I will not repurchase since they must have reformulated and it was not for the better.

Cleansers -H20 - Marine Cleansing Gel
westcoastgirl 3/8/2008 2:18:00 PM
I Love this cleanser. I can't believe that I have not reviewed this cleanser sooner. I have been using it off and on for ten years. It really helps clear my skin and sooth it. It is a gel consistantcy with moisture beads in it, it does not lather but I remove my makeup with a separtate makeup remover and then I gently rub this cleanser in circlular motions and rinse clean. It leaves my skin very clean not stripped. When I am using a different cleanser and my skin has breakouts I can count on this cleanser to clear my skin up in no time. Great stuff, I will repurchase over and over as long as they keep making it:)

Foundations -Elizabeth Arden - Flawless Finish - Mousse Makeup
westcoastgirl 3/7/2008 6:59:00 PM
I wanted to like this foundation. I like how it is in the spray can and comes out so light and airy. It blends right into my skin. But, after having it on for about 30 min. my skin was so oily, I had to blot more often throughout the day. I am guessing it is because it contains mineral oil. After wearing it everyday for four days my skin was breaking out all over and I got contact dermatitis on my cheeks. I had to return it. Good foundation if your skin can handle it. But just not for me. My skin is VERY reactive. I gave it two lippies (the ingredients are not that great).
