Fragrances -Yves Rocher - Yves Rocher Gardenia Eau de Toilette [DISCONTINUED]

Wow, this might be the perfect gardenia scent for me! There's no artificiality about it. Most Gardenia scents become tiresome for me after a couple of hours, this one doesn't. I wish it was a little stronger but then my husband wouldn't like it. It's a very fresh gardenia, like when the flower first opens. I layer it over the matching lotion. It seems like a more modern interpretation of gardenia as opposed to say "Jungle Gardenia" which seems a bit old fashioned and vampy to me. I like it even more than Kai or Monyette Paris and it's WAY cheaper.

I wish it was a little stronger but then my husband wouldn't like it. It's a very fresh gardenia, like when the flower first opens. The lotion sinks right in on my skin. I wish it didn't have mineral oil in it though. That's my only complaint.

This is a review for Coconut Hut's body souffle in the "Lemon Verbena" scent. This is a dead on match for the discontinued Body Shop's Le Couvent de Mimes "Verbena & Lemon" scent. I love a good citrus scent and this is as fresh and tart as crushing a leaf of lemon verbena between your fingers in the garden. Lena is famous for her sweet and floral scents so it was a leap of faith to expect her to be able to replicate my favorite citrus scent but she did it! The only differenence is that her scents last longer than the original! She is fast becoming my favorite etailer because I think she takes great pride in her work and it shows. Everything I've ordered from her has exceeded my expectations.
This review is for " Pink With a Splash, Fresh & Clean". Wow! This is a very different scent for Victoria's Secret! It's very Ambercrombie & Fitch. Reviewer's said that it reminded them of "Fierce" by A&F only lighter and more feminine. I adore "Fierce" but I thought it was too masculine for me to wear and husband keeps forgetting to put any on. It's described as a mix of crisp apple and soft lily but there's so much more to it than that! The reviews were so glowing that I ordered it without sampling it. It was on sale on the VS website for 2 for $20 and you get a LOT of it (8.4 oz for the mist). It's even made in the USA! I am sooo happy with this fragrance! I think it's suitable for any age and a wonderful change from the usual sweet & fruity VS fragrances. I'm glad I got the lotion and mist because the scent is light but I find that if you put on the lotion first and layer it with the mist the lotion helps "set" the mist and it lasts longer. I wish they would come out with a stronger version of this scent. I would be first in line to buy it!

Fragrances -Suds and Light - lime sugar moisturizing body mist

Another wonderful scent by Michelle! I was never a fan of Lemon Sugar (too synthetic, like Country Time Lemonade, although I never tried Michelle's) but I LOVE Lime Sugar. It's so fresh and tart with just a little sweetness. Suds & Light seems to be really good at the fruit scents. I like her Speckled Strawberry & Vanille Banane too. She got my order to me really fast and very well packed. My only complaint is that I like the scent name in big letters so I don't have to hunt up my glasses to figure out which scent is which but I just make a scent label on the computer and use that. I have to do that for most of my scents not just Suds & Light.
This is Michelle's version of the very pricey Comptoir Sud de Pacifique perfume by the same name. It's the kind of scent that just makes you feel good! Here's the ingedients: Rum, vanilla pods, banana cream and a hint of orange. I don't notice the rum too much, it's not overwhelming. I've never smelled the original but I like this so much that I'm not even tempted to try it (that's unusual for me). When spring comes I'm going to try layering it with Kai or Monette Paris. The seller is very efficient at getting the perfume to you quickly but one of a roll-ons leaked a bit. In all though, she's a great seller! I got the roll-on for half price ($2.25)! It really brought me out of my winter doldrums!
Michelle was having a great sale on roll-on fragrances and I noticed "Fresh Lemon Curd" at the last minute. OMG, this is the lemon scent I've been looking for! It's tart but not harsh. I always wished that J.R. Watkins would come out with a nice lemon perfume but now I've found the Holy Grail of lemon scents. Michelle is very good about getting the orders out quickly now, but there was still a tiny bit of leakage in the package. It makes the office smell divine but I had to wipe down each fragrance before sampling it.
My lilac bloomed out of season last month and reminded me of what a true lilac smells like. "If only a fragrance captured that REAL lilac scent..I said to everyone." This board seemed to like the Yves Rocher Lilac so I decided to try it. I found that the best price was at the Yves Rocher website. I got the collection (shower gel, lotion & fragrance) for a rather astounding $14.50. It came in an adorable lilac quilted bag with white pom poms. Anyway, the real test is the fragrance right? It's as close as I've ever gotten to a true lilac fragrance! I found that by layering it with a little J.R Watkins lemon oil (another MUA discovery) the fragrance is exactly like a fresh lilac! You know how lemon freshens some recipes in the kitchen? Well, it seems to do the same for perfume. The lemon oil helps to extend the life of the fragrance too.
Lotions/ Creams -Bissy's Boutique - Goat's Milk, Shea & Honey Lotion

This review is for Bissy's new "Fruit Loops" scent. I never would have picked this scent but she sent me a sample in the form of a tart and I loved it! It's not too sweet, it's that perfect tart fruit scent that I've been looking for. You can smell the cereal but it's subtle. My son, the cereal expert says "Yeah, smells like Fruit Loops!" It's not a harsh lemon scent like "Lemon Sugar". She's having a sale right now so I got the lotion for $3! I like it way better that "Very Sexy". I also got a body spray in "Fruit Loops" for $1.75. Check it out.
This is a review of Bissy's "Beach Type" - Blend of Sand, Sea Spray, Salt, Jasmine, Mandrin. Compared to: Bobbi Brown. This is a very nice perfume by an etailer. I know that "dupes" and "types" have a bad name from the old days when Walgreens covered copies of obnoxious 80's fragrances but this is a very subtle, sophisticated fragrance. It's classic Americana. A little sea salt, a little coppertone. some jasmine. I live 1 mile from the pacific ocean and still don't get there as often as I'd like but this fragrance takes me there instantly! I never smelled the original but I like this one so much I'm not even tempted to try it! I have smelled the original versions of some of Bissy's other scents, like Lolita Lempicka, Key Lime Lust and Angel and found Bissy's darn close!
Fragrances -Bissy's Boutique - Roll-On in Lime Cilantro
wendycat00 10/5/2007 9:22:00 PM
This is the a wonderful true lime scent. Bissy describes this as "Lime Cilantro – Zesty, cool lime blended with a hint of jasmine, musk, and woodsy notes". It's great as is or would be wonderful blended with a coconut scent. I think of this as a unisex scent, very sporty and fresh! Update: Sometimes it smells like chili powder and lime! Downgrade to 3 lippies!
Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Coconut Lime Verbena - any product
wendycat00 10/4/2007 2:14:00 PM
This review it for the Eau De Toilette. I thought I would LOVE this scent but I didn't. How could they go so far wrong with this one. It should have been a slam dunk, smell some tropical drinks guys! In stead I don't detect any coconut at all and the rest of it is just strange. I've found far better coconut & lime scents at the drugstore and Ross. If you're at Walgreens check out the Coconut & Lime body moisturizer by The International Toiletry Company. It's made in England (usually a good sign). Unfortunately it's not available in a perfume but the moisturizer is highly scented and just wonderful!
Fragrances -Revlon - Jean Nate After Bath Splash original scent
wendycat00 9/25/2007 11:32:00 AM
I bought the CONCENTRATED COLOGNE spray version of Jean nate and what a difference it made in the quality of the fragrance. I read somewhere that the more concentrated the form of the fragrance the more "notes" it has. Maybe more expensive ingredients are used? Anyway, thanks to Sherry11 for the review of the contentrated cologne. It smells much more floral and like a more expensive perfume than the splash. It surprises me that there are no citrus notes in the fragrance since I've always thought of it as a soft powdery citrus. Maybe the lemon yellow package is what makes me think it's a citrus scent! Ah, the power of suggestion!
Fragrances -Bissy's Boutique - Perfume spray in Vanilla Spice
wendycat00 9/19/2007 2:16:00 PM
This one reminds me of L'de Lolita but I think that I like Bissy's better! It's a little strong though so use with caution. It would be fabulous in the home fragrance form for fall and Winter.
