Bath Treatments -LUSH - The Comforter Bubble Bar

Bought this yesterday and tried it last night. At the shop I was deliberating between getting this, and Blue Skies bubble bar. I'm half wishing I got blue skies. The scent dry, is a very sweet black currant candy kind of smell and it's coloured in magenta and white swirls. I used just over an eigth of the bar, so that could be my problem, but I found that as soon as this bar hit the water, the scent disappeared. The water went a light magenta kind of colour with white bubbles. I am disappointed because this is supposedly a best seller, but was just average for me. It didn't produce mounds of bubbles, and the bubbles were all gone when I hopped out about an hour later. The scent was VERY watery, I could hardly smell it and it didn't linger on my skin. Again, I only used an eigth of the bar, so I will try using a quarter next time and see what happens. All in all, I'm very disappointed in this purchase, definitely not my favourite. I would use it if I was given it as a gift, but probably wont buy it again.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Gingerbread House bubble bar

I love this bubble bar. It smells delicious, sweet and fruity with a hint of gingerbread. It's sweet little gingerbread house shape is so cute I almost can't bear to cut it up! I used a quarter of this bubble bar and got piles of bubbles that lasted the hour or so I was in there. And the scent lingers on your skin! I've only tried two bubble bars so far, but this is undoubtedly my favourite, and probably always will be. Unfortunately this is only available around christmas, so I'll definitely be going back to stock up! I'll have to keep one on display in my room, too. It's so cute and cheery and I would not mind at all if my room smelt like this! :)

Lip Treatments -LUSH - Mint Julips Lip Scrub

First off, this product costs around $12 for 25g of what is essentially sugar and oil. This product works very well at smoothing and soothing my lips, however, does not prevent my lips from drying out later in the day. I never carry around lip balm so if I was going to spend so much on so little, I would prefer it to have a lasting effect. It does taste delicious though - like mint chocolate chip icecream (like they say). I probably wont buy this again because it seems like a very unnecessary product to have, and certainly not something I'd be desperate for. And if I was to buy another lip scrub, I'd try another flavour. :)

Cleansers -LUSH - coal face soap

Asked for a sample of this in my last purchase. Lather feels creamy and gently cleansing on my skin. Dries me out a bit around my nose, which is weird since that's usually my oiliest area. It also doesn't keep me feeling oil-free. I do use a moisturiser, but I used a moisturiser with Dark Angels too, and didn't feel oily then. However, the rough charcoal bits on top of the bar are excellent at getting rid of my clogged pores. Most of my nose was a mess of clogged pores,and this has gotten rid of a lot of them. I do believe this cleanses my skin very well, and getting rid of clogged pores is definitely a plus, but this did not stop my breakouts. I would probably get another sample once this one runs out which is looking like it'll be in 10 years or so, but would not buy a full sized bar ($17.90 NZD per 100g).

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Sea Vegetable Soap

I bought this, and Demon in the Dark soaps about a week ago. Apparently the minimum amount you can buy in NZ, is 100g but the SA was lovely and cut me 70g pieces of both instead. :) This soap smells amazing, and looks even better. When the seaweed is mixed in with a few embedded pieces of salt and it's wet, the top feels exactly like the ocean floor. I loved the idea of this soap, however, I am VERY disappointed. The first time I used this, it lathered very poorly. And now it wont lather at all. I may have gotten a dud batch, but I'm very hesitant about trying it again. The price here is $8.99 NZD for 100g of soap (I paid about $6 for 70g) and that is rather a lot to pay for soap that doesn't lather and does absolutely nothing. Hopefully I will have more luck with Demon in the Dark, or this could potentially be the end of my venture into LUSH soaps. EDIT: Bumping this up a lippy because it's started to lather again, don't really know what the problem was in the first place? This soap must also be one of the harder ones as it's not melting away fast at all. Nevertheless, I still probably will not repurchase.

Lotions/ Creams -LUSH - Vanilla Dee-lite

Received a sample of this with a purchase a while ago. It was left sitting in a drawer as I originally smelled this and thought it smelled a little fake. But, as with all LUSH scents, this one quickly became addictive. I find myself opening the sample pot to smell it often. I use this on my hands before I go to bed, it absorbs lightning fast, makes my hands incredibly soft and of course, smells delicious. I also used this on my legs after using LUSH Black Stockings body tint to help it absorb quicker, my legs were silky smooth all day and the slightly coconutty vanilla scent blended well with the spicy scent of the tint. The only downside to this product is the price - $35 NZD for a 250g bottle. Despite the pain in my wallet, I probably will purchase this product soon. I may try The Soft Touch solid bar first though. I know it's discon'd, but the shop near me still had about 5 bars last time I went in there. Hopefully they'll still have them. :)

Fragrances -LUSH - Karma

My mother bought the solid perfume about a week or so ago (she's addicted to LUSH's karma range) and it smells amazing. Smells exactly like karma soap, orange and grapefruit with spicy tones. Not overwhelmingly patchouli at all. I will say this - the solid perfume smells *completely* different to the atomiser. My mother smelled the atomiser last time we were in the shop and didn't like it which is, quite frankly, surprising. But I smelled it too, and it did smell way different. All in all, the solid karma perfume smells gorgeous and it also smells expensive. But it totally isn't. About $12 NZD. No doubt will buy it again. And the way we're going through this perfume, it'll probably be soon. :-)

Conditioner -LUSH - Veganese conditioner

Tried this conditioner first with Cynthia Stout shampoo, my hair smelt gorgeous and was shiny and soft (although I'm not sure how much that was down to Veganese as Cynthia Stout does the exact same thing used without conditioner). Also tried this with I Love Juicy shampoo, and it did nothing to condition my hair. Admittedly, I Love Juicy does dry out my hair a lot and LUSH does market this as their lightest conditioner. Veganese smells delicious, like the lemon muffins my mother makes. I *may* buy this, but I think I need a conditioner that conditions my hair a lot more as it's on the dry side. Will probably try American Cream next.

Cleansers -Dove - Gentle Exfoliating Daily Facial Cleanser

Been using this product for a while. Scent is non-offensive, and it cleans my face very well. Leaves me with a dry, tight feeling. Nothing a good moisturiser can't help however, I would prefer to go with something a little more natural. Probably wont buy this again now that I've found LUSH skincare.

Shampoo -LUSH - I Love Juicy

For reference - my hair is very short and on the dry side. This shampoo smells great, very fruity. However, this did dry my hair out (which admittedly, is not hard to do). For the first day, it left my hair feeling 'crunchy' and sort of split end-ish. And the next couple of days my hair felt very soft until the next time I washed it. The scent also lingered in my hair. I tried this again in conjunction with Veganese conditioner, and it still dried my hair out (LUSH do say that veganese is their lightest conditioner). Overall, I would buy this if I could find a good natural conditioner that prevents it from drying my hair out (maybe American Cream?) however, I prefer LUSH Cynthia Stout shampoo over this.

I walked into lush one day with every intention of buying this shampoo (I'd been reading reviews online) then I smelt it. It smelt odd. Not unpleasant, just odd. Quite a malty smell, with a hint of lemon. I asked for a sample. I've only used it twice, but WOW. The first time, I used it without using conditioner afterwards, and this did not dry out my hair at all (Ref - my hair is on the dry side) which is a miracle in itself. I didn't find the scent to linger (it wouldn't matter now because it's grown on me big time). I also asked my mother whether my hair looked any shinier, and she replied in the affirmative. It's $14.90 NZD for a 100g bottle. My hair is very short now and I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week so this amount would last me ages. Will definitely have to get myself a bottle of this. :)

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Dirty Springwash Shower gel

Received a sample of this shower gel with my last purchase. It's a light blue-green color (kind of like Sea Vegetable soap, except clear). It smells minty and very 'clean'. This lathered very well, still smelt amazing in the shower, and lingered very slightly on my skin. I may buy this, but for now I'm using The Jilted Elf shower jelly by LUSH which smells amazing.

Skincare - Body -LUSH - Black Stockings

Used this a couple of days ago. I'd read a few reviews where people said that it rubbed off on clothes, so I used a body lotion afterwards to help it sink in better. This product was hard to apply, and I think there was more on my hands than on my legs, but this combined with my body lotion left my legs silky smooth. The color was alright, but I had a lot of scratches on my legs at the time, and this product made them stand out like a naked man at a funeral. All in all, way too much trouble for something that I will build up over summer anyway as I spend a lot of time in the sun. Will not repurchase.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Karma soap

This soap smells amazing. Like fruity orange and grapefruit with complex spicy notes. I read a review that said this smelled very strongly of patchouli 'knocked over the head' were her words I believe. I didn't smell patchouli at all in this, whatever patchouli was in it only contributed to the whole experience, not overwhelmed it. My mother bought a huge chunk of this soap (I took her into lush and she spent more than I did! :) and cut off about a 50g slice to use in the bath along with her karma bubble bar. This small slice lasted a bath, and three or four showers with the whole family using it (even my dad lol). All in all, this was an awesome soap, the scent lasts for ages on your skin. I can't attribute to the moisturing qualities as I don't have dry skin, however my mother did remark to me that it certainly leaves you feeling 'squeaky clean'. No doubt will repurchase.

Deodorants -LUSH - Aromaco Deodorant

I love this deodorant. I have used natural deods before, which did nothing and actually left me worse off. This smells great, very earthy and slightly spicy. If you don't like patchouli, don't buy it. I have very high expectations, a good deod to me is one that lasts all day without needing to reapply. And for a sweaty person like me, that's pretty much nonexistent. The first day I purchased this, I put it on immediately when I got home. Then went for an hour and a half walk (it wasn't actually a walk, we were trekking through the swamp, and climbing over trees.) which usually would leave me hot, sweaty and well, smelly. There was nothing. No BO smell, just a faint patchouli scent. I don't need to reapply this, I rub it on my underarms after my shower in the morning, and that actually will get me all the way through the day. I do reapply though, I can't help myself. It's just so easy to use, and it smells SO good. :-)
