Powder -Maybelline - Clear Smooth Shine Free Face Powder
rated 3 of 5
wednesdei 6/25/2012 9:34:00 AM

Despite its teenage-y vibe (at least for me), I find the compact case cute and manageable. I like that it doesn't take a lot of space inside my make up kit. I use this to set my BB cream everyday, and for quick touch ups at the middle of the day and it works fine. It doesn't have the best oil control ability in the world, but its okay. I have normal to combination skin and I find that it somewhat helps to keep oil at bay for perhaps 2-3 hours. However, I feel that the powder is a bit chalky and emphasizes my dry patches at times. It's unscented, oil-free, non-comedogenic and claims not to clog pores. I've been using it for a while now and so far so good; - no break out or anything nasty on my face (thank God!). However, please take note that this powder has talc, silka and parabens. So if your skin doesn't work well with those ingredients, you've been warned. It also has SPF18 which helps protect the skin from harmful UV rays. See my full review here: http://mygorgeouspinkcheeks.blogspot.com/2012/06/maybelline-clear-smooth-shine-free.html

Palettes -NARS - 9951 Pleasures of Paris Palette
rated 5 of 5
wednesdei 5/22/2012 1:38:00 AM

Nars almost always throws a couple of neutral shades in his eye shadow palettes (which is a good thing, at least for me). But with the Pleasures of Paris eye shadow palette, he spiced it up a little bit by adding some purple hues and an almost-blackened brown to take the just-having-fun-in-the-park to rocking-at-a-party! For a neutral and purple fanatic like me, this palette is heaven's sent! So yeah, I am so into this! Just look at how gorgeous these shades are! Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - Watt's Up!
rated 5 of 5
wednesdei 5/13/2012 4:12:00 AM

Benefit Watt's Up Highlighter is a soft focus cream-to-powder champagne highlighter that adds that extra luminosity to the skin without going overboard and is designed to work with all skin tones. When my desire for that extra scoop of healthy sheen that will last decently is on, I literally swipe this across my cheeks, temples and brow bones, blend it with my fingers and whoala..I have radiant skin in an instant! You can also use the handy sponge applicator on the other end of this purple plastic light bulb-inspired packaging to blend, but I just prefer using the old-fashioned (and lazy) way;- my (clean) fingertips in doing the trick. Also, don't get in any way intimidated with how shiny it looks like when you first swipe it. I assure you, once you blend it, it gives that lit-from-within glow that looks natural and oh-so flattering. It also glides smoothly which makes it relatively safe to use on top of your make up. It will not make a mess because it doesn't bulge nor cake. It stays on where you want it to be! :) For swatches and FOTD, check out: http://mygorgeouspinkcheeks.blogspot.com/2012/05/benefit-watts-up-highlighter.html

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst in Soft Rose [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
wednesdei 4/9/2012 8:43:00 AM

This is my first Revlon lipstick and I must say that this particular line is so up there with higher end brands that I've tried in the past; - both packaging and formula wise. I love the quilted packaging and how the word "Revlon" is neatly stamped on the lipstick (very Chanel-like imo). The color of the cap matches the actual shade of the lipstick as well. Soft Rose is a warm rosy reddish brown shade that goes as a fantastic my-lips-but-better shade. I have natural rosy lips and this suits them perfectly. I also love how soft and creamy this lipstick is. It glides smoothly on the lips and is very moisturizing. I also find that it wears really well and lasts decently. I also noticed how it leaves a nice even tint on my lips. And unlike cheaper lipsticks, this doesn't have any funky scent to it. However, due to its soft texture, this lipstick tends to melt easily. I wouldn't mind that at all since I am used to my Mac Cremesheens and Chanel Rouge Coco's falling a part in no time due to humidity. But since Revlon discontinued this shade already (booh!), the thought that I can't get it anymore once I run out bothers me. So I am not letting our tropical weather expedite that. Lipstick -MAC - Victorian
rated 2 of 5
wednesdei 4/8/2012 11:01:00 AM

Victorian is a frosty soft fluorescent pink with gold shimmers. It actually reminded me of a more pink version of Nars Super Orgasm lip gloss but in a lipstick form. The color is gorgeous, but the formulation sucks. Yes, it's creamy and opaque. But it's it a pain to put on. I find it goes blotchy (which is the reason for my uneven lip swatch below) and its frostiness settles into the lines of my lips. I also resent how the gold shimmers in it stay adhered to my lips when the actual color fades away (not a pretty sight!). It is also drying and doesn't have the greatest lasting power. It's a shame because the actual color is gorgeous. I bet if it was an amplified or even a satin, I would love it forever. Lipstick -MAC - Amplified Creme - Chatterbox
rated 4 of 5
wednesdei 4/1/2012 10:04:00 AM

Chatterbox is an opaque vibrant mid-tone pink with warm undertones. If you want that pop of pink but without going overboard, then check out Chatterbox. For me, it's the perfect pink lipstick that I can just tuck inside my purse and put on anytime of the day. It is a wearable pink that has enough warmth and pigment, so even with a bare face, it doesn't wash me out. It is also an amplified which makes it goes really smooth and creamy on the lips. It has great lasting powers as well and is a color that I find will look stunning on all skin tones. The only thing I don't like about it is, for an amplified, it's a bit drying on the lips. So don't let its finish fool you, pop a good lip balm before putting it on. It will save your lips, promise! Swatches: http://mygorgeouspinkcheeks.blogspot.com/2012/04/mac-chatterbox-lipstick.html

Lipstick -NARS - Casablanca
rated 5 of 5
wednesdei 3/18/2012 2:09:00 PM

On the Nars website, Casablanca is said to be a classic full bodied coral. I have to say that description is just half true. On my lips, it delivers more as a nice terracotta brick orange that almost has its own character. Definitely a one of its kind shade that I have been enjoying slapping on my lips recently. It is almost opaque in a swipe and stays decently on the lips. A quick dab is all it takes for it to light up my face (so day-appropriate), while piling a few more layers is all I need to achieve that sultry, fierce pack of color (but still not over the top). It also has a nice subtle glossy sheen which makes pairing it with a lip gloss optional. However, Casabalanca is a satin; -which means that it is not the most moisturizing formula in lipstick land (but lasting power is superb!). So I make sure to pop that extra lip balm underneath before swiping this on. Swatches on my blog: http://mygorgeouspinkcheeks.blogspot.com/2012/03/nars-casablanca-lipstick.html

Lipstick -MAC - speed dial cremesheen
rated 5 of 5
wednesdei 3/5/2012 1:17:00 AM

Speed Dial is a lovely wearable candy pink with golden sheen. It gives a nice pop of color on my face without looking over the top. I'm about NC20 in Mac and this shade compliments my skin tone perfectly. It never looked harsh or garish on me. Its cremesheen formula also enables this lipstick to go on really smooth on the lips while imparting that nice soft glossy touch too (no need for that additional lip gloss). On me, it's also not drying and lasts relatively for around 3-4hrs. It may not be opaque in one swipe, but the color is definitely buildable (without ending up being tacky looking). Polishes -Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Commander in Chic
rated 5 of 5
wednesdei 1/5/2012 1:47:00 PM

Commander in Chic is definitely one of the prettiest taupe with purple undertones in the polish market today. If you love taupes (like I do), make sure to snug a bottle of this absolutely gorgeous color and I guarantee you that you will not regret making that decision. It is a color that is every-event-appropriate. Whenever I feel undecided with what nail polish to use, I always turn to this little guy. And I guess I am not just the only person who finds this shade extremely eye catching, because the life in me couldn't remember the x number of times that I receive compliments when I have this on my nails. The formula is also fantastic! It's square-brush design facilitates easy application of the polish; color is opaque in two coats; and this sucker dries incredibly fast and shiny! The only downside is it chips after about 4-5 days (when worn without a top coat) which I know is still pretty awesome. But for a polish that retails for Php399 a pop, let us just say that I was expecting a little bit more. Mascara -NARS - Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara
rated 5 of 5
wednesdei 10/21/2011 3:12:00 AM

I have straight skimpy lashes and this bad boy separates, thickens and coats them with a rich, deep, intense black pigment. It's unique brush also does a great job in getting even the tiny lashes on the corners of my eye. I also love that I can literally pile as many coats as I want with zero clumping! In addition, I live in a very humid country and this mascara stays put all day long. It doesn't smudge, budge, transfer, flake and the best part.. it holds the curl of my lashes like nobody's business! Seriously, my lashes stay fuller, curled, and flirty for the entire day. See pictures of my lashes here: http://mygorgeouspinkcheeks.blogspot.com/2011/10/nars-larger-than-life-volumizing.html

Pressed Powders -MAC - Beauty Powder - Alpha Girl
rated 5 of 5
wednesdei 9/19/2011 6:45:00 AM

Compared with other beauty powders that I came across with, Alpha Girl has just the right amount of intensity to show up on my NC20 skin tone. Lighter skin tones can definitely get away with this beauty powder. However, if you go any where from medium dark to dark skin tones, this may not work for you. On my cheeks, it gives that subtle pinky coral blush with a semi matte finish. I love using it as a subtle blush, a finishing powder on top of cream blushes, or a blending powder for some of my very pigmented blushes. http://mygorgeouspinkcheeks.blogspot.com/2011/09/mac-alpha-girl-beauty-powder.html

Blush -Chanel - Rose Tourbillon
rated 5 of 5
wednesdei 9/18/2011 4:03:00 AM

I shy away from Chanel Joues Contraste (Php2450) because I am not the biggest fan of its scent (which actually vanishes few minutes after application). But then again, I really find it a little bit overpowering for my taste. However, this color is so gorgeous that it would be a sin for me to let it pass. Just look at that stunning warm candy pink dome infused with silver and pink glitters. OMG, just typing its description makes me wanna grab it from my stash and apply it to my cheeks! And despite this blush is in an Euro/Asia baked formula, it is loaded with so much pigment that I only need just a little bit of product to transform my cheeks into its healthier form. It gives that lit from within glow and leaves the skin with a beautiful sheen that looks absolutely natural. It stays on for a decent amount of hours on my cheeks as well. http://mygorgeouspinkcheeks.blogspot.com/2011/09/chanel-joues-contraste-in-67-rose.html

Lip Gloss -NARS - Angelika
rated 5 of 5
wednesdei 9/17/2011 3:06:00 AM

I am not a huge lip gloss kinda girl. But this lip gloss is something that I am sure any pink lip gloss lover will adore! It's a true baby pink and is loaded with so much pigment! I was shocked on how opaque this gloss goes on the lips without being tacky and disgusting. http://mygorgeouspinkcheeks.blogspot.com/2011/09/nars-lose-yourself-angelikalaguna-duo.html

Lipstick -MAC - Amplified Creme in "Full Fuchsia"
rated 5 of 5
wednesdei 8/24/2011 1:10:00 PM

Full Fuchsia definitely lives up to its name. It's a true fuchsia that really brightens the face in a swipe. Described as bright clean warm pink, Full Fuchsia goes very well with my NC20 skin tone. Wearing it is a nice break from all my shocking cool pinks (which I still love btw). It is also an amplified creme, which makes it incredibly creamy on the lips. The color pay off is insane as well. It is highly opaque and lasts a really long time. It can withstand few bites and drinks and leaves a nice tint on the lips. Unfortunately, Full Fuchsia is a PRO shade, which means that is not available in our local counters here in the Philippines. But if you could get your hands on this lipstick, grab one now! :) http://mygorgeouspinkcheeks.blogspot.com/2011/08/mac-full-fuchsia-lipstick.html

Lipstick -MAC - Amplified Creme - Girl About Town
rated 5 of 5
wednesdei 8/18/2011 2:08:00 PM

Bold, bright and definitely worth all the attention; - that is Girl About Town. I love my bright lips and this little bundle of boldness never fails to give me that oomph in a swipe! This is a pretty solid shade that will instantly boost your look effortlessly. I can get away with a blank face (read:no other make up) and just this on my puckers and I am all set. It is also in an amplified creme finish which brings out the richness of the color. I have pretty pigmented lips and an opaque, non-drying lipstick is my best friend! And on that note, Girl About Town is my inanimate bff! http://mygorgeouspinkcheeks.blogspot.com/
