Eye Shadow -Shiseido - Shimmering Cream eye color
rated 5 of 5

My favorite cream shadows. These are easy to work with, and don't dry down like thick paint. They can be used sheerly or layered and last as long as the best cream shadows out there. The softly, shimmering creams also work well as liners, and the color selection is great. I've owned five of them for over a year, and the product hasn't dried out.

Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Re-nutriv: Intensive Age Renewal Creme
rated 1 of 5
waters2 5/1/2013 10:12:00 AM

This is another pore-clogging, slighltly irritating anti-ageing cream. Nothing about this warrants the horrific price tag. The product moisturizes on the first couple of uses, but it dried up my skin after that, and caused pimples. I was told by the SA that this would be a lighter creme for younger skin (thirties), but honestly can't see younger or older/drier skin types liking this. It's too heavy for combo skin and too light for drier skin. I might as well apply salicylic acid on my face to exfoliate it, and just use my regular moisturizer. Another worthless product from the Re-nutriv line.

Treatments -Philosophy - Miracle Worker Dark Spot Corrector
rated 4 of 5

I bought this to fade a scar on the body, and it works great in a short amount of time! I also dotted some on a small mark on the face every other day for two weeks, and it reduce color by half. I can't imagine using this on large areas of the face, or on anything less than on the random, bad scar or mark, as other reviewers did, because it's quite emollient and find that light marks just take patience to fade, and don't need chemicals-natural or not. Love the pump dispenser, but at the rate at which I've used this, I would not buy again. There will be better products out there by the time I'm done, which would be several years.

BB Cream -Shiseido - Perfect Hydrating BB Cream
rated 4 of 5
waters2 4/29/2013 2:12:00 AM

I'm not purchasing again simply because I received this as a gift, and am not drawn to foundation in any of its reincarnations. But I've been using what I've received, and feel that this light cream is great for combo-oily skin types, and for those that like a natural look. One thin application is plenty to make my skin look even and pretty. I applied too much the first time and felt too made up, keeping in mind of course, that I don't usually use make up on my face.

Moisturizers -NARS - Luminous Moisture Cream
rated 3 of 5
waters2 4/29/2013 1:59:00 AM

This cream felt great on my face, but was too heavy for my combo, sensitive, and somewhat acne-prone skin. It didn't cause redness or itchiness; it was simply too much. I broke out from it despite the NARS sales lady's assurance that I would not due to the good-for-you Omega-3s and what not. She also refused to give me a sample before purchase, even though I purchase NARS products throughout the year. It's a hassle to return products. I also wish NARS made a lighter cream to supplement it's wonderful gel moisturizer.

Moisturizers -NARS - Aqua Gel Luminous Oil free moisturiser
rated 4 of 5
waters2 4/29/2013 1:49:00 AM

This is a lovely moisturizer for my skin type, combo and extremely reactive to botanicals, so-called "natural" products, and most creams. It moisturizes deeply both during the winter and spring, but I do feel the need to use something slightly more emollient for surface dryness during the wineter. Unfortunately, the current Luminous Moisture cream was too heavy to use as a supplement. NARS needs to come out with a light cream. Also, the packaging is just awful. The soft texture would work well, if not better, in a squeeze tube.

Cleansers -Nuxe - REVE DE MIEL Face Gentle Cleansing Gel
rated 2 of 5
waters2 4/18/2013 3:01:00 PM

This cleanser removes makeup fine. However, it's not for me, since it doesn't get the oil off my face well. I feel the need to follow up with my standard cleanser when using it. It's not moisturizing either, so don't know what skin types this is made for. As a makeup removing gel, it works, but I bought it to use as cleanser.

Cleansers -Avene - Cleanance soapless gel cleanser for oily skin

I hate to bring down the great reviews, but this product did not clean well and caused breakouts, and made my face blotchy.

BB Cream -Tarte - BB tinted treatment 12-hour primer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen
rated 1 of 5
waters2 4/4/2013 4:51:00 PM

This BB primer broke me out. But breakouts aside, I didn't see the point of this product. It left a powdery, slippery feel on my skin, dried my combo skin out a bit, and took too long to blend out. I'd rather use sunscreen as primer and top with an illuminating powder.

Concealers -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Concealer

Stays in place but makes covered area look like dry patches. Would work blended and brushed and tweaked with moisturizer, but too much work.

Primer/ Corrector -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Primer with Sunscreen
rated 5 of 5
waters2 1/26/2013 7:58:00 PM

This is a great product, but I don't use it to increase makeup staying power, since I don't wear foundation. I use it alone as a moisturizer and to add just a bit of a finished look to skin. Since I have combo-oily skin, I don't need to wear moisturizer with this. It hydrates enough for the day. The chemical SPF isn't high, but I loathe to wear too much chemical sunscreen, and an SPF of 15 did not irritate my skin. (Mineral-based sunscreens clog my pores badly, no matter how cosmetically elegant, so i'm glad there's no zinc and little titanium dioxide in the formula.)

Lip Gloss -Tarte - LipSurgence Natural Lip Luster in Pouty
rated 1 of 5
waters2 9/27/2012 10:11:00 AM

The mint flavor is horrible, and I found the product horribly drying, as I do all Tarte lip pencil formulas. They go on fine initially but make my lips shrivel up within the hour. Color is flattering, but ordinary. I'd rather buy a real lipstick.

Eye Shadow -Burberry - Eyeshadow
rated 1 of 5
waters2 8/26/2012 4:02:00 PM

Bought Pale Barley and Midnight Brown. The colors are nice, but they are not unique, and creased within three hours on my eyes. The pigment is medium in intensity, which I expected. Unfortunately, the only luxurious quality about Burberry shadows is their softness, which isn't something I can't find in other lines, and isn't all that important to me. Don't waste your money.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Clear Face Break-Out Free Liquid- Lotion Sunblock SPF 30
rated 1 of 5
waters2 8/5/2012 4:35:00 PM

Break out city for me. I am sensitive to a degree to many sunscreens, but this was the worst. I'll be sticking to Neutrogena's Dry Touch SPF 30 when I need an affordable option for the beach.

Blush -NARS - Liberte
rated 3 of 5

I didn't love this either, and I'm light toned. In my opinion, it's an unnecessary color in Nars' lineup of already good blushes. I didn't have a problem with the texture, but this definitely didn't seem that pigmented. Probably done on purpose so the color would be wearable, and not come on so strong.
