Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
rated 2 of 5

I got this as a gift, and was excited to try it because of all the hype, but I have to say, there is nothing special about this face wash. I don't even feel like it really even cleanses very well, and it definitely doesn't remove makeup well. I still have to use make up remover afterwards. Might as well just use gentle hand soap? Much cheaper...

Smells like violet candies. I really like this. Not too sure about the lasting power though...

Conditioner -TiGi - Superstar

I stocked up on this stuff at Ulta because it's buy 2 get 2 free. I am used to using Kerastase but now that I don't get a discount I am looking to less expensive alternatives. This stuff smells good and does a decent job conditioning...but the difference in how my hair feels with this vs Kerastase is night and day. I'm glad I still have my masquintense, because I have a feeling once I am completely out of my K shampoo/cond and am solely using all this stuff I bought (I am not going to be wasteful and just deal with it), I can at least make sure my hair stays somewhat silky. Volume wise it's "eh"--didn't see too much of a difference using the shampoo/cond

Cleansers -LUSH - Angels on Bare Skin

OK, I REALLY like this face wash so far. It smells good, is all natural, and makes me skin feel SO amazing after. My skin has been looking pretty dang good too! I don't think it is expensive at all considering it will probably expire before I use it up. It is very messy and I am still working out the exact amount of wash+water that = the perfect cleanser texture for me, but it is kinda fun and once again, it smells divine =)

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Very Sexy for Her
rated 4 of 5
waterchika 3/6/2008 1:47:00 PM

I have had a mini bottle of this forever and kinda just forgot about it. Yesterday on a whim I decided to put it on as my "perfume of the day." I couldn't stop smelling my wrists all day! The scent was warm and sexy but subtle enough to pass for the daytime, and it lasted longer than I expected it to.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Teal
rated 3 of 5

This isn't really the product's fault, but as beautiful as the color is, turquoise just doesn't look that great on me. Maybe if I could figure out a better way to make it compliment my coloring, I would appreciate it more. That isn't why I gave it 3. I gave it 3 because the texture def isn't as smooth as the navy or brown. You basically have to "scrape" off the top layer before being able to use it. However, it did last long on me. I'll keep it in my stash because maybe a fun time will come along when I will be like "OMG THANK GOD I HAVE THIS LINER!"...maybe not but you never know =) On a side note I am really digging the navy and eggplant to compliment my hazel eyes... =)

Hair Styling Tools -Sonia Kashuk - Bristle Hair Brush
rated 3 of 5
waterchika 2/29/2008 9:28:00 PM

Eh...this is OK. I saw this at Target and was like "well this is certainly a lot cheaper than a Mason Pearson" so I grabbed it. I guess I had some surge of extremely optimistic hope that this 10 dollar (or whatever it costs I don't remember) brush would be a dupe for a 100 Mason? Yeah, right. I really wanted the Mason Pocket for blow drying my bangs....but now that I don't work at a salon with a 40% discount that isn't gonna happen anytime soon. I have a Mason Detangler brush that I adore but would never dream of blow drying with it. ANYWAY back to this brush, it just doesn't have the same "power" as the Mason. When I put it through my hair I feel like it doesn't grab enough hair or something (if that makes sense) making blow drying with it almost kinda impossible. I suppose it works fine in an "ordinary brush" way to just brush my dry hair, but meh...that's what my detangler is for haha. I also don't see this holding up for a long time. Oh well, it was worth the experiment =)

Lip Gloss -Smashbox - LipGloss *general*
rated 5 of 5
waterchika 2/29/2008 11:16:00 AM

I got 2 mini lip glosses in the Glambox Vol 2 kit, and originally thought I would try them and they would sit in a drawer, because I have really bad lips and tend to not get into lip gloss that much. Well these changed my mind! I got "Aura" and "Bare"...I am not even sure if you can separately purchase these or if they are LE (I hope they are the available though!). When combined..these give my neutral glowy day look the perfect finish on my lips. They are really pigmented and even when the "gloss" fades away the color still remains. Like I said I have bad lips that get dry and peel almost every day, and these don't seem to bother my lips very much! I find myself reapplying these glosses throughout the day rather than in the morning, getting over it and using chapstick after like I normally do with other glosses. I hope this doesn't lead to a Smashbox lip gloss addiction...I don't need anymore makeup!

Fragrances -Suds and Light - Maybe Baby
rated 1 of 5
waterchika 2/28/2008 8:33:00 PM

Uhhhh...OK I love Benefit's Maybe Baby but don't feel like spending a lot for a perfume that probably won't last...so I saw these *great* reviews for the dupe and ordered. I have literally been sitting here for 10 min sniffing my wrists wondering if the scent is magically going to transform to Maybe Baby...because...all I get is intense, and I mean INTENSE, strawberry. I didn't even think/know strawberry is a note in Maybe Baby??? I am disappointed because the other scents I got from her smell really good, but this was the one I was looking forward to the most. I also now have an intense strawberry scented lotion....well at least Spring is coming I guess? =/

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer SPF 15 with Dermaxyl
rated 5 of 5
waterchika 2/28/2008 3:51:00 PM

OK, maybe I am jumping the gun, but I guess that is what the edit option is for. I got this travel size in a kit I ordered (The Supernaturals Vol. 2 I believe-it is fabulous!), and am using it for the first time today. I have a Fresh primer that I have used occasionally but that one is more of a lotion, where this is very coney. I don't use primers often because my skin isn't *that* bad, but after using this today I might change my mind! I only needed a tiny bit. I use Benefit play stick foundation AS WELL AS Purminerals powder over that for perfect skin. Usually, due to all the powder (because on top of PMinerals I also use blush and bronzer) my skin tends to feel a teensy bit cakey to touch and by the middle of the day starts to look a little less than perfect. It's 1 pm, I've had makeup on since 7am and my skin not only LOOKS amazing still, but it FEELS like I don't even have makeup on while touching my face. I also like that this has an SPF. I know some of you hate these primers because they make your skin feel greasy, but I have pretty normal skin so it doesn't bother me. Yay! I got a great bargain on this too because it was in the kit.

Palettes -Smashbox - Glambox Vol 2 The Supernaturals
rated 5 of 5
waterchika 2/27/2008 9:32:00 PM

OK I have to say I am impressed with Smashbox. I saw the review under me YESTERDAY, had a compulsive moment and clicked onto their site and ordered it. It arrived TODAY. I even got free shipping. Now that is service! (Note-I do live reasonably nearby their warehouse so that might not apply to everyone haha). OK, now onto the actual kit. It truly is a GREAT deal for the price. You get 2 brushes-I thought the moon brush would be useless but it isn't! I think I will actually use it quite a bit! The face palette is really nice and gives a nice glow. All the eye stuff is fab as well. I followed their little "instructions" that came with it to see what kind of look it would give me. At first when I was applying it all, it didn't look that special, but when I stepped back from the mirror and looked at the complete deal, my eyes looked really great. A great daytime look! Took me like 2 minutes to do the entire thing as well so kudos to that. I normally don't care much about lip glosses and figured I wouldn't care much about these...but these are REALLY gorgeous!! And I can tell they are going to be long lasting because when I first opened the kit I slabbed some on my lips. Then washed my face to actually experiment with the entire kit, and there was still a lot of pigment from the gloss after my very rigorous wash. NICE. Basically this entire kit is PERFECT for summer because it gives you a nice bronzy glowy look. I am pleased. I haven't tried the primer yet, but I will use it tomorrow and edit this if it's necessary, I doubt I will hate it though. GET THIS KIT WHILE YOU CAN!

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Pure Pigment Shadow Stick in Mesmerizing
rated 4 of 5
waterchika 2/26/2008 12:28:00 PM

I got this with a BOGO deal and most of the HIP stuff was picked over so I figured this would be one of the best items to grab. The color really is gorgeous! The original price of this is not. For what it is, it shouldn't cost so much! And yes the packaging kinda sucks. OH WELL. Good thing I have so much makeup I will probably use this like once every 3 months. JK. I used it wet and it wasn't that hard to apply. I just stuck it under the faucet for .000005 seconds and then rubbed some on both lids and smudged it around with a brush. It was easy. The color looked nice. You can definitely make it lighter or more intense. I love green and this really is a great color to have in my...ever growing collection (I so blame this site! haha)

Lotions/ Creams -E.L.F. - Vanilla Coconut Body Butter
rated 3 of 5
waterchika 2/25/2008 12:43:00 PM

OK I am on the fence with this. I LOVE coconut smells and this price was just too great to pass by when making my giant ELF order. When it arrived and I smelled it I was like "Ah yum!" However over time using it...I can't decide if the scent is too fake or not. Sometimes it smells yummy and sometimes it smells...just so fake it is unappetizing. The moisturizing qualities are not bad though.

Polishes -NYX - Titanic
rated 4 of 5
waterchika 2/25/2008 12:36:00 PM

This is my first NYX nailpolish and I am impressed! I had a manicurist paint this on me, because I am horrible at painting my own nails =) It's been three days and there is only very very minimal chipping, which is mainly my fault because I am hard and clumsy on my nails and they weren't completely dry (don't you hate it when they feel dry yet it moves around if you put pressure on ugh). Anyway this is a very pretty dark blue and the color looks just like the bottle in 2 coats. Good quality polish for the price! I want more! (uhoh)
