Conditioner -Sally Hershberger - Supreme Head Conditioner for Wavy Hair
rated 4 of 5

First I'll start off by saying I have really rare hair. It's fine and thin, yet wavy with the right product...otherwise it's a frizz ball. Maybe it's not rare, but it seems like hairdressers never know how to style it, so I assume they're not used to dealing with my sort of hair. Anyway, that's a story for another time. I read about this Sally Hershberger line for wavy hair in Lucky magazine. I was excited because most products are either for stick straight hair or curly hair, rarely is there anything for in between. I meant to actually by the styling product, but accidentally bought the conditioner and decided to try it out instead of returning it...because I guess I'm just that lazy. I used it after shampooing with my usual Biolage shampoo and I ended up really liking it! It smells great and it made my hair feel really silky. Not weighed down or tangled. I combed out my wet hair, did a little bit of scrunching and voila! I had nice, soft waves! Usually to get nice looking waves I have to use a lot of "wave-enhancing" products (usually my Be Curly by Aveda) but those always weigh my hair down because I think they're mostly for people with thick, curly hair. They don't allow for me to run my fingers through my hair, which is icky. The Sally Hershberger wavey hair conditioner is so light, but it really works on my hair...and smells great. I only am giving it 4 lipsticks because my hairline has broken out just a little bit. Nothing major, but still annoying.

Treatments (Eye) -Lancome - R'Energie Eye
rated 3 of 5

I was sure hoping this product would work since it cost me what seemed like an arm and a leg. I'm in my mid-30s and have only recently started to see the signs of aging around my eyes so I wanted a good high-quality eye treatment and figured I couldn't go wrong with Lancome. I had read good reviews of this product on epinions which is how I eventually chose it. I've been using it for about 4 months and I feel like my fine lines haven't dimenished at all. I don't even know if I'm using it right because there were no directions on the container or box. Anyway, it's basically just an intense moisterizer, so in that regard, it's fine...albeit, fairly heavy. I don't think it's very good at firming anything though, so next time I get an eye cream I'm going to look for something else. It feels good and smells good though!

Lip Gloss -Laura Mercier - Violet Glace
rated 5 of 5

This is my favorite lip gloss I've ever used. It doesn't have that sticky, tacky feel but some how it manages to stay put for a long time, compared to other glosses. It has a perfect amount of shimmer and just the right amount of color so it's not crazy bright and annoying. It tastes nice as well. Love it!

Moisturizers -Origins - Have A Nice Day Lotion
rated 5 of 5
voxford73 12/7/2007 1:23:00 PM

This is a great light moisturizer that's perfect for day. I have combination skin, my cheeks get dry but I'm oily in my T-zone. The Have a Nice Day moisturizer keeps my oil to a minimum while providing enough moisture to my cheeks. Another great thing about it is that it has SPF 15, which is so important for a daily moisturizer. In the summer it gets insanely humid where I live and in the winter it gets fairly dry and this moiturizer has maintained itself through both climates, which I love. I don't notice it clogging my pores and it works great under my makeup. I recommend this to anyone with combo skin. Some people don't like the packaging, but I actually like the little glass bottle. It think it's quite cute. I also like the smell and the texure. It's a little pricey, but I think it's worth it.

Shampoo -Bulgari - Eau Parfumee au The Blanc
rated 4 of 5

I have very fine, thin hair and I've never had a shampoo and conditioner that have made my hair look, feel and smell so divine. I stayed at a really fancy resort and this was the shampoo & conditioner they had in all the rooms. The smell is pretty strong, but I like it. People compliment me on my hair smell when I've used it. The only negative thing is that if I use this every day, it actually makes my scalp break-out, which is why I only gave it 4 lippies But honestly, I don't care. It makes my hair just so luscious that I can't give it up. I only use it on special occasions now though...like if I'm going on a date or something. When I use it sparingly, I don't have breakout problems. I also have no idea where to buy it or how much it costs, since I got it as a freebee.

Foundations -La Bella Donna - Pressed Mineral Foundation
rated 5 of 5
voxford73 11/17/2007 6:43:00 PM

My whole life I searched for makeup that could cover my flaws without getting cakey or melt off during the heat of the day. Since I was 13 or so, I was pretty much miserable and unhappy with everything I tried. I have combo skin and get really oily in my T-zone and tend to break out a lot. My skin has always been an issue in my life and I suffered through serious bouts of self-confidence problems because of it. Well lo and behold, along came La Bella Donna Pressed Mineral Foundation. I got a facial at a really nice spa and the facialist introduced me to the line. I have been a huge fan ever since. This stuff is nothing short of a miracle. Its so easy to apply and covers everything! No more concealer, then foundation, then powder like I used to do. This stuff is pretty much all-in-one. It's awesome. I just wash my face in the morning and then brush on my pressed powder, add a little blush and mascara and I'm good to go. My face rarely breaks out anymore and I love that it has a nice SPF as well. I can wear it all day and then come home and STILL look great. It's so light that you can even sleep or exercise in it, which I don't do, but I could if I wanted! Yes, it's expensive, but it's high-quality stuff and well worth the $50 in my opinion. Just great. I love it. I'll most likely use it for the rest of my life.

Conditioner -Bumble & Bumble - thickening conditioner
rated 1 of 5
voxford73 11/16/2007 12:35:00 PM

I'm not sure where "thickening" fits into this scenario. Quite frankly, my hair has never been more flat and dull. It's almost like my bottle was mislabeled or something. I have naturally fine hair but usually with good products I can make it seem shinier and fuller than it is. Not so with this product. My hair actually seems FINER than before. I've never had more "bad hair days" in my life. It's dried out my hair to the point where my hair looks damaged...and well, horrible. My hair just lays there like a limp noodle. I look like one of those people that just doesn’t care how their hair looks...even though I do! That's how bad it is. How they got "thickening" from this product, I will never know. And not to beat a dead horse, but the smell is really bad as well. Sorry Bumble & Bumble.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
rated 3 of 5
voxford73 11/16/2007 11:45:00 AM

I really wanted to like this product. After I wash my face with it, my skin feels so soft, never too dried out or oily. I've also been less oily during the day and my skin has actually been really soft overall since I started using it. I've always had combo skin - dry cheeks and oily T-Zone. I was hoping this product would even things out and although it kind of did, it also makes me break out for some reason. Nothing major, but I definitely have been getting little pimples here and there since I started using it. I was hoping this stuff would help with blackheads too, but it hasn't. I live in a really humid climate, so it might have something to do with it. I will say, now that it's autumn and the air is dryer, I'm not breaking out as much. But I still feel like this stuff doesn't cleanse as much as I thought it would. Everyone else seems to love it though, so I don't know why it didn't quite work out for me. ADDENDUM: I needed to amend my review on this product because now that it's winter and the air is dryer, I'm really like this product more. My face isn't breaking out and it does feel less oily. I changed my opinion on whether I would buy this again, because now I think I would...but only in the winter.
