Lotions/ Creams -Laura Mercier - Creme de Pistache Hand Creme
rated 4 of 5

I have the Honey Almond Bath Creme and love it! So, I needed a new hand cream and wanted to try a new LM scent. I really liked this scent in the store, but when applied it can be really strong. Use a very little amount-like the size of a pea or it might be off-putting. The consistency is nice, very smooth, and not at all oily. It does moisturize but is not super moisturizing. I would use this for a light moisture and for a little scent, but if you are looking for a super-hydrating product, this is probably not best for the price. I also find the packaging a little annoying-it has a stand up tube with a twisting cap. The cap is difficult to open and close and the dispensing hole is not covered. You don't know for sure it's closed completely and a little product is always left in the opening, making me afraid other items in my handbag are going to get lotion on them. Overall, it's nice, and I don't regret purchasing it, but I will probably stick with the bath cremes instead.

Lips -NARS - Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella
rated 5 of 5
vgirlygirl 3/8/2013 6:44:00 PM

Love this red. Blue-based, creamy, doesn't require a lipliner, and has good staying power. I love the pencil consistency because it's more like a moisturizing lipstick rather than a drying pencil. Looks great when I'm anywhere between NC25-NC35.

Crème -Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup
rated 3 of 5

UGH, I really wanted to like this product. I love the container-I actually think it's quite expensive looking with the glass, and twist off black top. I also love the consistency because it feels very cooling and mousse-like, and it felt good going on my skin. I used my flat top kabuki and it blended like a dream. BUT I HATED THE COLOR. I LOVE the original Revlon Colorstay and have bought it time and time again. I'm currently NC30-35 and bought Warm Golden after reading so many MUAers thought that shade was a match. The Whipped Creme makeup did not match at all, because it was just too pink/neutral and looked gray. I don't have that problem at all with the original colorstay and now I feel really bad that I spent $12 on a foundation I will never use.

Lipstick -Revlon - Matte Lipstick Really Red
rated 3 of 5
vgirlygirl 12/15/2012 9:52:00 PM

I really hate to bring down the ratings on this product, but this was not a good color for me. I love red lipsticks and have several, but they are all blue undertones. This red looked completely red-orange on me, and I don't like that look. I was looking for another blue-based red and this didn't work. For reference, I'm warm toned, yellow undertones, NC25-35.

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere Aqua
rated 3 of 5

I really wanted to like this foundation. I had tried the Perfection Lumiere and that was a disaster for me, so I was really excited to try this one. I received a sample of B30 and I'm about NC35 in MAC. This sample is a little light for me, and also runs a bit neutral. I have very strong yellow undertones, so this color looked a bit pink on me. This is a light coverage foundation, and although feels light on my skin which I like, I felt I really had to keep applying to get the coverage I want. Also, the smell for me is very off-putting; it smells very strongly of rose and I could still smell it even after a few hours. As for staying power, it did keep me matte most of the day, but did nothing to mask my pores or give me an airbrushed finish. For me, my Neutrogena Healthy Skin foundation definitely out performs this on texture, finish, and staying power. I am happy for the people who make this foundation work, because I've seen it look beautiful on girls before, but I just can't make this work for me.

Blush -MAC - So Sweet, So Easy
rated 4 of 5
vgirlygirl 12/3/2012 4:09:00 PM

Love this! It looks super bright in the pan but it is very lightly pigmented. I needed to put about 4 coats to get it to show up. It is like a cream version of well dressed. I really like how delicate it is, and I would repurchase, but I took off one lippie because of it's lightness. NC35 for reference.

Lipstick -Revlon - ColorBurst lipstick in Petal
rated 5 of 5
vgirlygirl 11/29/2012 7:00:00 PM

Gorgeous, flattering pink. I really love this color. It's so easy to apply, I don't need a mirror as it is slightly darker than my natural lip color, but not much. It has a slight frost to it, but almost unnoticeable. Creamy. Love the colorburst line.

Polishes -Sephora - Give Peach a Chance
rated 3 of 5
vgirlygirl 8/22/2012 6:28:00 PM

This is a really interesting color. It's a very peach, pastel, opaque color. It looks lighter in the bottle than application. I like the opaqueness of it, but the application is really a struggle. This color was streaky after two coats, so I needed to apply a third. I really don't like having to apply three coats of polish, and even with the third coat it's not completely streak-free. It's almost as if I painted my nails with peach white-out. Like I said, it's very interesting. It looks okay on my NC35 skintone and I actually received a compliment on it today, but I wouldn't repurchase.

Lipstick -MAC - Pure Zen
rated 5 of 5
vgirlygirl 8/22/2012 6:22:00 PM

I picked up Pure Zen from the Cremesheen + Pearl collection. It is such a beautiful color!! I love pink and peach nudes and tans, like Hue, Myth, Shy Girl, and Jubilee and Pure Zen definitely is along those lines. It is: -Pinker and creamier than Myth -Slightly pinker and less matte than Hue -Not as peach as Shy Girl -Not as brown as Jubilee Basically, having all these colors in my collection already I still felt like I didn't have anything already like it. When I'm lighter toned, like NC25 I love Hue, but right now if I put it on I feel like it's too pale. Pure Zen is perfect; I love the color, texture, and feel. Looks great on my NC30-35 skintone.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Jubilee
rated 5 of 5
vgirlygirl 8/2/2012 12:09:00 PM

I love MAC lipsticks overall, but I really like the lustre finishes because they are so creamy and moisturizing and they don't require a precise application (MAC lipsticks smell so good too!) I bought this color after watching pixi2woo's Top 10 Lipsticks and since I already had many of the ones she listed I knew we had the same taste. This color is gorgeous, it's a brownish nude and slightly sheer. It's the perfect nude lip for my NC35 skin right now. I thought it might be too close to NARS Honolulu Honey which I also use right now as a nude, but NARS is more organey-brown and the MAC is more nude-brown. I love them both! Definitely try the NARS if you are looking for an easy nude on an NC35 skintone. Would definitely repurchase!!

Lip Gloss -Milani - Crystal Gloss Summer Baby
rated 5 of 5
vgirlygirl 7/23/2012 7:03:00 PM

Such a pretty color. Hard to describe but it is a lovely summer color with a pink, tan, peach combination. I love wearing this alone or over MAC Myth. This is my second Milani gloss and I love them. The formulation is nice-minimal stickiness, the color payoff is great, and it smells slightly of vanilla. I think this gloss was under $5. Give it a try, it's gorgeous on my NC25 skin.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Blush Brush
rated 5 of 5
vgirlygirl 7/17/2012 12:00:00 PM

Great brush! It's really soft, haven't had any shedding and does a good job of packing on the color. At $3 you can't beat it. I haven't tried this with cream blushes yet, only powder, so I will be curious to see how it performs with those. I really like cream blushes, so I hope it works. I would definitely repurchase though for at least my powder blushes.

Polishes -Orly - Nail Lacquer in Kiss the Bride
rated 4 of 5
vgirlygirl 7/9/2012 12:26:00 PM

Beautiful *slightly* shimmery opaque pinkish nude. This color is lovely and really brings out your tan. If you like milky pinks that are opaque give this a try. I do have to mention that application is a little tricky. The first coat is definitely streaky, but the second coat applied fine. I learned that if you can apply thin coats it works better than applying thick coats. And if you apply your second coat and it "drags and removes" a little of the first coat, just gently dot at the section that was bare. I learned this works fine to patch any spots that get swiped away with the first coat. Overall really pretty color if you are willing to take the time and care to apply.

Polishes -FingerPaints - Tiffany Imposter
rated 5 of 5
vgirlygirl 7/5/2012 12:26:00 PM

Gorgeous color! This really is the color of the little blue box from Tiffany's. The application was a little streaky on the first coat, but the second coat evened it out completely and applying a top coat just sealed in the gorgeousness. Staying power is great. I usually like to change my manicure color every week, but this is the first color I've used two weeks in a row. It's really pretty on my NC35 skin.
