Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Bruno Acampora - Blu

For some reason Blue reminds me of the Hilary Swank role in the Film Black Dahlia. It reminds me of a nymphoniac that has a bag of dirty and dangerous secrets.Ok maybe i'm exaggerating a bit But the aggresivness of it doesn't help me to think otherwise. This is TUBEROSE.And i like tuberose, and it's fantastic that it has sillage though the staying power is fairly average on me.When the top notes ease a light refreshing orange emerges mingled with a bit of deep dry wood and the ylan-ylang is also recognisable in the end stages. The tuberose never fades but takes a step back for the scent to develop. This is gorgeous stuff, especially if you love tuberose but i'm not very fond of the fact that this is an oil and i find it strange for a scent so powerful not to have reasonable steying power.

Fragrances -Caron - Narcisse Noir
veruska 10/28/2007 11:10:00 AM
I remember spliting the sample with three girlfriends and this one was very different in each one.But it smelled terrific and completely unique on me..In my skin it plays a great game of light and shadow. The notes seem to overlap one another with dirty and clean patches into the main body of scent. The bittter smoky but also green citrus of the start, the perfectly balanced jasmine of the middle and the best Caron base with the enveloping sexduality of chivet and the clean earthy sandalwood.Oh what an adorable scent!!! Illuminating!!!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Divine - L'Inspiratrice
veruska 10/28/2007 10:57:00 AM
i thought that i would loveit first because i like all the other Divine scents and because i love dark roses in general. But saly this didn't worked in my skin.My mistake for sure it must be a thing of chemistry, especially after reading the other reviewers praise it so much. It's incredibly heavy on my skin and it suffocates me.Honestly i think it would have a spiritual carachter if it wasn't so loud. It starts green and spicy and simultaneously the rose kikcks in.Very soon we have it mate with vanilla and the smooth earthy patchouli makes the picture whole.I know it sounds good but it does scream in such way that i have to scream also NO!!!!!

Fragrances -Comptoir Sud Pacifique - Fleurs des Caraibes
veruska 10/27/2007 2:23:00 PM
The same old stuff of CCP, an ordinary artificial scent targeted for teens and overaged lolitas. The main compount to my nose is in the start heliotrope, the middle part is a not too bad floral bit of hibiscus and after it a highly stinky jasmine spreads it's' beauty 'on a bed of cotton candy vanilla with caramely powdery aspects.I f you like that type of fragrance then go for it.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Eau d'Italie - Paestum Rose
veruska 10/27/2007 2:13:00 PM
I'm rteally impressed from what Wyrmiax said.Really Paestum Rose it's like a male simbling to Poussiere de rose.As i had aproblrm with the fruitness of Poussiere this is much more close to my liking but i can really recognise the similarities. The problem with Paestum is the lasting power and the sillage, but still i like it enough so i wouldn't mind let's say a decant.I like the strange salty nature of the flower, the dry incence a bit churchy and the various dancing resins. IMHO Paestum Rose is an elegant scent.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Jean Desprez Bal a Versailles
veruska 10/27/2007 1:59:00 PM
Bal a Versailles was one of my first introductions on vintage perfumery and it was an absolute success. Now i'm on my third fb and i can't think my fragrance wardrobe without it.I absolutely love it and everytime i wear it people notice. To my nose is extremely modern so i don't want to hear anything about old ladies and the lot...The perfume starts with a very feminine heady honeyed flower mimosa like note from farnesiana and strangely enough i don't smell jasmine or the bubblegum thing that other reviewers mentioned.I don't care though i like the scent as it is.Then it becomes woodier and the sweetnes leads you in a powdery sexy resinous and animalic drydown that in my nose ambergris reigns, although this is the trademark chivet perfume.just fabulous

Fragrances -Keiko Mecheri - Loukhoum
veruska 10/27/2007 12:48:00 PM
I have tried almost every Loukhoum scent in the market except AVA LUXE's version and although Keiko Meheri is not very faithful in the original smell of these delightful little desserts it's a very wearable one.It does have exceptional but soft sillage and it does have superb staying power. For me it's a very flirtatious scent although i don't have the need to own it.The floral part it's not really rose on my nose, but it's so soft like a petal shower above the warm vanillic heart combined with the breeze of something deep and resinous. Some people describe it as baby powder scent but it's more than that.

Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - Passage d-Enfer
veruska 10/27/2007 12:36:00 PM
This one was really dissapointing. I had really high hopes for it from the notes and the description.I'm extremely sure that it's a thing of personal chemistry because although the first notes are realy adorable after 5 min Passage d'enfer turns soapy at first and later incredibly aftershavey and alcoholic. It smells strangely cheap and sharp.Anyway although the flower that PdE is based on is lily in my skin it smells exactly like the small lilac rose bush that i have on my balcony, one i bought exactly cause it had a delightful aroma. As i said before i love the top notes a spicy warm floral touch. Then the scent forms to a face cream-soap-aftershave thing and as it lasts( and lasts for a good amount of time for l'Artisan, about 4 hrs) i only get White Musk ,and i hate white musk.Sadly it didn't work.

Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - Fleur de Narcisse
veruska 10/27/2007 12:22:00 PM
I'm still slightly undecided about fleur de narcisse partly because i don't believe it deserves the price they asking for and partly because while i was wearing it i couldn't really smell it if i didn't stuck my nose on my palm. The weird thing is that a male friend of mine adore it and call it " the scent of the forbidden fruit" as he found it incredibly sexy...Anyway that kind of comments really count for me, but i also need to experience a scent deeper. In my nose hard pressed on my hand as i said before the complexity is present. To be honest though i don't get smoke or leather as the other reviewers. For me it justifies the name perfectly as i smell narcissus and hyacinth and some wood, cedar i think, with a strange tartness and fruitiness and something that smells a bit like a subtle chivet note.if it had a little bit of sillage it would deserve five lippies imo.

Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - Verte Violette
veruska 10/26/2007 5:42:00 PM
This is more like it.I just reviewed La Haie Flerie, a very strong scent and now Verte Violette one of the usual fast dissapearing acts of the company. This is a ghost perfume. It doesn't last more than 15-20 min. on my skin ...But what a ghost!!!How beautiful it lingers with it's fragile and haunting beauty...The opoening notes with the green fruitiness from the raspberry leaves, the otherworldly chilling virtuosite of violet and the base with the nothingness of pure air and soft soil of wet earth.Like a very sort but outstanding and meaningfull poem , it does deserve our notice. After all to some lucky women could last longer.

Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - La Haie Fleurie
veruska 10/26/2007 5:33:00 PM
I know it sounds stange but this is really strong, something that i wish with all my heart for several others from L'Artisans catalogue.Unfortunately this one is too high pitched for personal use,but that desn't make it a less intriguing and mystyerious floral perfume. It's honeyed and smooth, waxy and a bit tropical with a fantastic hyacinth note.Still i seem to get a stron allergic reaction from it so unfortunatelly i can't own it.

Fragrances -Les Nereides - Vert d'Eau
veruska 10/26/2007 5:20:00 PM
This is a subtle and a bit non-descript scent that starts green and springy and turns fruity from watermelon and sweet from the honey, but not overwelmingly so.This is extremely flleting and not really interesting to me.

Fragrances -Lorenzo Villoresi - Inglese
veruska 10/25/2007 3:07:00 PM
When i started my passionate olfactory adventure through the net and elsewhere i didn't really liked lavender. But of course it came the time to appreciate it in full glory in S.L.'s Encens et Lavande. From there on i discovered a great bunch of lavenders that i loved.Sadly inglese or Wild Lavender as i tested it it's not one of them. But don'y get me wrong ! This is a quality and interesting scent as is the rest of Lorenzo Villoressi. It's just not my cup of tea.Maybe because it's too bracing and clear and it brings too close to mind of a hanging closet product. It starts smelling like fresh air from the lavender fields mixed with soft freshly watered earth with a touch of coriander and as the time passes it smells unusual and balsamic. If the scent retained this nature for long i would really love it but after 10 min all it's gone and what remains is a pungent and sharp greenery with a stange sweet undertone that makes me slightly sick.If i could possibly link this smell to any individual it would be to a very sad ghost drawned to the well.A bit abnormal don't you think?

Fragrances -La Maison de la Vanille - Vanille Fleurie de Tahiti
veruska 10/25/2007 2:49:00 PM
i got this as a present for a very young coworker. She is only 19 and she loves floral and vanillas. I think it's nice enough,a bit tropical a bit gourmand but it's not as interesting as the Magadascar from the same company. When the floral part fades there's no depth and it doesn't last long. This is a cooton candy vanilla, not in any way grown up,with ylang ylang for Lolita sensuality.Too childish for me

Fragrances -Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier Perfumes - Rose Muskissime
veruska 10/25/2007 2:37:00 PM
I rarely give one lippie on fragrances i test. But with Rose Muskissime i'm obliged to do so. When a scent stinks on me i blame my chemistry but not this time. I juswt hate the top notes i can definitely pick the cassis blended in the most nicest of ways with dirty sweat and a bit of dirty socks odour. After 10 min i get something airier but there's something dirty and earthy, but not in a good way(patsouli or vetiver par example).I was afraid the musk mostly and although i cant really get it,it;s maybe what ruins the situation.Thankfully it doesn't last long and what lingers reminds me of sandalwood. Why i'm not kinder with this perfume.Just cause out of curiosity i sprayed two other friends with the sample and it smelled just as bad to them and one's boyfriend ordered her to get rid of it because it suffocated him...Nuff said...
