Cleansers -Sukin - Foaming Facial Cleanser
rated 2 of 5

I have oily/combo acne-prone skin and wanting to approach a natural-based skin care line I decided to give this cleaner a shot. After one week of using this cleanser, I started to develop these bumps on my forehead (note: I normally have clear skin so I know when a product will breaks me out). I immediately switched to a new cleanser and the bumps went away. Now, I had suspected from the start that this product may not work for me (or the whole skincare line) because they all contain oils and whatnot. I'm not an anti-oil person at all (I use EVOO to remove my make-up at night) but for some reason 99% oils clog my pores and make my skin very unhappy. It may not have worked for me, but I have a friend who says that it is calming down her acne so to each their own.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Ego QV Face Moisturising Cream SPF30
rated 5 of 5

Firstly, I've been using this for several months now and am currently finishing my third tube (with another back-up tube lol). I have oily skin prone to clogging pores after experiencing my first breakout (cosmetic acne) at the age of 20. Since then, my skin has recovered and all that remains now are scars. I know that sunscreen helps fight against aging and pigmentation so I've been hunting around for a good spf moisturiser. I have tried so many different types but it just seems like my skin is sensitive to most sunscreen moisturisers - except for this one. I remember trying some of this moisturiser from a friend years ago prior to my huge breakout and I didn't experience any adverse reactions so I decided to give it a go again and huzzah - it works! I have oily skin (rarely combination) and this moisturiser is a bit thick and greasy for my liking - but I don't blame this product at all because it's geared towards dry skin - I just use oil-blotting sheets to combat shine. It is very easy to blend, leaves no white cast and most importantly does not clog my pores/make me break out. If you've tried a lot of spf moisturisers like me but none of them work for you - give this product a shot!

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Lotion
rated 3 of 5
vegovy 7/22/2012 11:09:00 AM

I really wanted to like this product but I'm kind of on the fence about it... PROS: - Little goes a long way - Soothes my irritated skin - Small ingredient list - Comes in good variety of sized bottles CONS: - NOT oil-free! Turns my face into an oil-slick after 3-4 hours! - Not truly moisturising enough for wintertime (I might try using this in spring/summer) - Clogs my pores :'( ^This lotion claims to be non-comedogenic so I don't understand why it's clogging my pores...

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
vegovy 7/22/2012 11:01:00 AM

I was using the Combo/Oily version previously but I find this one to be much much better (esp in winter time). Does not strip the moisture from my combo skin (actually moisturises if anything) and it's so gentle on my acne-treatment-induced sensitive skin. More importantly, now that I've changed my skincare regime to a more gently and simple one, I really feel that it has helped with eliminating my acne (*touch wood). My new winter fav!

Lip Treatments -Nivea - Nivea Fruity Shine in Pink Guava
rated 5 of 5
vegovy 7/22/2012 10:50:00 AM

I have naturally pigmented lips but this lip balm/gloss really livens it up by giving it the most prettiest flush! (If your lips are more grey undertoned, I recommend the Strawberry version) PROS: - Smell is divine! - Nice flush of colour - Lasts 3-4 hours (no food) CONS: - Shimmery (I'm not a big fan of shimmers) - Sticky! (Try getting your hair stuck on your lips on a windy day) - Not suitable for dry lips - Low spf

Other -Unlisted Brand - Phisohex Antibacterial Skin Wash
rated 2 of 5

I really hate to be the one to lower the rating for this product, but as much as I wanted to love it - my skin just does not like this stuff! My cheeks literally feel as if they are burning after every use (regardless of the amount that I use) so after attempting a few times I just gave up. I now use it to wash my hands prior to cleansing. Will not be repurchasing. Pros: - Does not strip moisture off skin - Non-soap Cons: - Burns my skin (my skin isn't normally sensitive... but I could be wrong) - Doesn't come with a pump dispenser - Slightly expensive

Cleansers -Dove - Lathering Oil Make-up Remover
rated 5 of 5
vegovy 1/11/2012 3:15:00 AM

Dove has been a long trusted brand name for me, and so today I came across it while there was a mini sale and decided to grab it. I'm glad that I did. I've only used it once but so far I'm really impressed with it. Although it looks like an oil wash, when you pump it the product comes out in foam-form. The instructions say to use 3 pumps but I found that 2 pumps was enough to remove 99% of my make-up (the final 1% was removed by my Clinique make-up remover - which I applied to a cotton pad and then wiped my face). It works considerably better than my Cetaphil cleanser. Although the pump doesn't have an on/off function, it does come with the attached plastic pump neck(?). Edit 13/07/12 - I've found my HG MU remover: EVOO!! :)

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 30
rated 3 of 5
vegovy 1/11/2012 3:03:00 AM

I had high hopes for this product, but... it didn't work out too well for me. I think it's because the Australian version of this is different to that of the US version, because when I use it on my face it leaves a shiny sheen but I like that it 'blends' well into the skin. It also has quite a strong sunscreen smeIl which I don't really like. I would say it probably works better on the body instead of face, but I am still currently applying it on my face as a primer followed by my mattify! loose powder. All in all, I will not be repurchasing. :(

Lips -Nivea - Hydro Care
rated 5 of 5
vegovy 1/11/2012 2:54:00 AM

Wow... I've lost count of how many times I've repurchased it. This is definitely one of my favourite always-must-haves on me (excluding Paw paw of course :p). My lips are pretty temperamental in that some days it will be perfectly smooth while others it will get flaky. I believe I discovered this lip balm when my lips were quite dry and miraculously it worked! Yes it does leave a sort of shiny gleen on your lips but I like that - it makes my lips look more alive :D I've tried the other versions of the Nivea lip care line but I didn't like any of them. So anyway, this lip balm leaves my lips feeling moisturized and yes I do have to apply them throughout the day but that's normal for me. I also love the packaging! I absolutely hate those chapstick/baby lips packaging. These lip balms last quite a while (few months) and I will continually buy it foreverrrr.

BB Cream -MISSHA - M Perfect Cover BB Cream
rated 2 of 5
vegovy 12/25/2011 2:10:00 AM

As much as I love the coverage from this bb cream, it gave me the worst breakout of my life after using it for several months. It's been a year since I've stopped using it and my face is still recovering. I've vowed to steer away from bb creams from now on.

Liquid -Maybelline - Dream Liquid Mousse
rated 2 of 5
vegovy 12/25/2011 1:42:00 AM

For reference I'm about NC 25-30 and the colour Creamy Natural (Light 5) was perfect for me. It really gave me a natural and dewy look and it was easy to apply and blend. Sadly, it turns out that I'm allergic to all Maybelline Liquid Foundations... But if it wasn't that this foundation would have been a staple.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser (Normal to Oily Skin)
rated 5 of 5
vegovy 11/7/2011 6:26:00 AM

EDIT 19/07/12 - For some strange reason, I much prefer the gentle version over this one. I just bought this cleanser about a week ago and so far I am really liking it! I purchased the cleanser for oily and acne-prone skin and so far it has not broken me out. It does have a mild fragrance, but I don't really mind it. It is also an excellent make-up remover and apparently reduces oil production with continual use (which I find it really does!). Pros: - Has a pump, with on/off function - Controls oilies - Value for money Cons - Can strip skin - After a while, the pump becomes really messy.

Cleansers -Clearasil - Daily Deep Cleansing Foaming Wash
rated 2 of 5
vegovy 11/7/2011 6:20:00 AM

My feelings are mixed about this product. After using it for a few months I would say that it has not helped my mild acne, nor has it broken me out further. It doesn't seem to prevent breakout, and only seems to aid in fighting them... a little. Even my aloe vera gel gets rid of my pimples faster than this facial wash. For the cost, I bought mine for around $14, and considering it has lasted me 2-3 months (used twice daily) there's a fair amount. I'm just trying to use up the rest of the product now. Will not be repurchasing.

Treatments -Biore - Ultra Deep Cleansing pore strips
rated 5 of 5
vegovy 11/5/2011 8:04:00 AM

I've been using these pore strips for a few months now and I have to say I absolutely love these! I buy the combo pack which contains 7 face and nose strips for about $14 which to me is slightly expensive... but I guess it works out since I only do these treatments once in a while. Some people say that they don't see results but I do! It's pretty gross/fascinating to see all the impurities that is on my face, and honestly it does hurt a little, but you'll learn to get over it. Packaging is pretty basic, it just comes in the box with individually packet strips. The only real downside is the residue (I believe it's glue?) that is left on your face. But that is easily solved by washing your face - which you should do after each treatment anyway to close your pores. I can't really vouch for the 'diminishing pores' claim though, as I've seen no real difference in the size of my pores. Overall, I will continue to buy these (I will be purchasing my third one soon).

Concealers -Maybelline - Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Concealer
rated 5 of 5
vegovy 11/2/2011 1:17:00 AM

One of my favourite concealers around! This concealer is mineral based, so it doesn't clog my pores. There is also a small variety of shades to choose from and you can't really go wrong with the colours. I find that it's perfect for under eye concealing (I don't really have dark undereyes though) and also good for concealing small blemishes - but of course the coverage is light. I use it whenever I'm lazy and don't want to put too much make-up on, just conceal and some pressed powder and I'm good to go! The downside is that this product is that the staying power is not very long (maybe around 4ish hours) but other than that I really like this stuff! I use the Medium 0-1 Sand, which matches my asian skin tone perfectly. Overall, I highly recommend this if you're after light and natural coverage. :)
