I have tricky skin...oily with blackheads on the nose & chin, and mega dehydration - not dry - I have more than enought oil! I just want to make the distinction for girls with the same skin type as it's not as common as others. This moisturizer provides excellent hydration and does NOT cause blackheads! I've been using it in conjunction with Vichy's Aqualia Serum and it's a fantastic combo. It seems to exfoliate as well - maybe it's the antioxidants doing this, I'm not sure. Anyway, my skin looks fantastic compared to one week ago - improved blackheads & zero peeling! Oh, I've been using the hydrafoam cleanser as well. The only thing I hate is that it comes in a jar...seriously gross. I'm going to buy a pump bottle before I repurchase. I hope this helps - I've tried NeoStrata, Cliniderm, Biotherm ect, all the usual suspects. This has been the best for my skintype.

Conditioner -Davines - Momo conditioner

I have very fine, wavy hilighted hair that is very easily tangled & damaged. I bought this conditioner on the advice of a stylist and I cannot overstate how useless this product was for my hair type. I really wanted to like it, but after rinsing it out, I couldn't even run a wide tooth comb through my hair. I had to get back in the shower and soak my hair in Sebastian Penitrait mask to get it untangled! I'm happy that it worked for other people, but if you have hair like mine, you might want to make sure you can return it before you fork out your hard earned cash!

Eyes -Unlisted Brand - Careprost~Generic Brand Latisse

This product has been reviewed to death so I'll (try) keep it short! Pros - long Bambi / Kim Kardashian-esque lashes - Super cheap ( approx $12 per bottle at alldaychemist ) - lashes kept growing longer even after 4 months Cons - lashes are a bit hard to control, they're not as aliged / curled 100% in the same direction. I think I need to get a lash perm as the lash tips can't really be fixed with a curler. - a few super tiny micro hairs grow near the tear duct. They can't be seen w/o magnification but they creep me out so I tweeze them - and it hurts like hell! Overall - I love the look of the lashes, so I'll put up with the few minor annoyances that come with the product. I really appreciate all the girls on this forum taking the time to write reviews - I never would have known about the generic product without this site! Thanks!

Makeup Brushes -Hakuhodo - Brushes

This review is for the S142 shadow brush & the G529 highlight brush. In a word - Perfection! I can't believe how amazing these brushes are. I can create perfectly blended smokey eyes with the S142 in under 1 minute - it usually takes me 10 to get it just right! I really can't describe how easy it is to apply makeup with these brushes, & the fact that they are beautiful to look at is just an added bonus. This is the Bentley of makeup brushes, girls! I can't wait to stock up at the IMATS show!!

Wow, I'm really surprised this hasn't rec'd more positive reviews. My skin issues: had acne as a teen, but used accutane so while I do have enlagred pores they're mostly empty, and my skin is MEGA dehydrated so I have these annoying little flakes on my nose & chin that show up when I put any make-up on. I actually don't have any wrinkles at all thanks to Botox for the last 5 years, so I can't say if it helps with fine lines. This is the ONLY exfoliating type product that works for me. I use Neo Strata & Clinaderm for everyday, but this product works even better for me than the Neo Strata 8% glycolic fluid so I always use it when I know I'm going out & wearing lots of make-up! So, if you have similar skin issues to mine, maybe this product is for you!

Brows -Maybelline - Ultra Brow Brush On Color
rated 5 of 5
vbparry 8/28/2010 8:16:00 PM

I used to work as an aestitician & I am obsessed with eyebrows. If I see a product I have to try it....I swear this is the BEST of them all! I found this years ago when I went to Boston & forgot some of my makeup. I wanted something cheap as it only had to last me for the weekend. I noticed Ultra Brow right away b/c Maybelline doesn't sell this product in Canada. It comes with the tiniest, crappy looking little angle brush ever, and it's AWESOME!! The bristles are tough & they allow you to get exact precision to make even the most OCD person out there happy. I know I'm going on & on but it was just by such chance that I found this product & I use it every day. It still isn't available in Canada so I usually stock up & order 6 or so at a time - the brush wears out long before the powder does, but it's so inexpensive, I'd honestly buy it for the brush & throw the extra powder away.

Makeup Brushes -Lise Watier - Foundation Brush
rated 3 of 5
vbparry 8/18/2010 10:15:00 PM

I purchased this brush instead of Lancome or MAC's foundation brush as it had great reviews and was half the price. I hate to say this because I love other Lise Watier products & like to support Canadian companies, but I wasn't completely happy with this brush. It isn't the worst brush I've ever used, but after I applied the foundation with it, I had to blend it further with my finger tips to get rid of the very fine lines the bristles of the brush left. If I have to use my fingers anyway, what's the point of the brush? ( Btw, I tried this with 2 different foundations just to make sure it wasn't that particular brush/foundation combo ) Cheers!

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Airflash
rated 4 of 5
vbparry 8/14/2010 10:17:00 PM

This foundation is great, esp when I'm in a hurry. FYI, my skin issues are: some redness, small veins, dialated pores & dehydration ( lucky me! ). Previously, I used MAC studio fix powder on top of a ton of Cover FX foundation to cover the small veins & redness, but it would take forever and I would need to touch up the problem areas constantly. With Airflash it takes only a few seconds & I'm done. You don't need to apply very much. If you hold the can too close it will look gross, too far away and you won't get enough product. Experiment though, and you'll get the perfect balance! The finish isn't really matt but it isn't dewy either...it looks very polished. It also lasts a long time on my skin. The only con I can think of is that it doesn't last as long as I'd like considering the price. Also, you can't tell when you're nearing the end of the can, so you have NO warning that you're running low. When it's gone, it's gone - no way to squeeze another drop out of it! Also, make sure you cleanse thoroughly as it stays on very well. I hope this review helps!!
