Conditioner -TRESemme - Vitamin E Moisture Rich Conditioner
vanillasugardream 10/13/2012 6:10:00 PM
this is an AMAZING conditioner. it has a silicone ingredient in it, further down the list. Silicone ingredients are suppossed to be bad or whatever, but, I love this stuff. The big deal for me, is, even when i air dry (meaning towel-dried well, and then brushed and in a clip), it STILL will look very good. it doesnt have that sticky feeling when i am blowdrying it straight, or after it dries. it smells VERY nice, not like cheap perfume, as Pantene does. i get a bottle that is over 30 oz as opposed to the 25 oz i see at places like dollar General. it is under $3.50. this stuff is MUCH better than many salon conditioners I use. it is on par with 2 Sally's conditioners i use that are not on the cheapy end. i love it. my hair is easy to brush and comb thru. also, i dont get dandruff from it. most ppl have said to me *but conditioner goes on your ends, not near your scalp*. trust me, it kinda coats and travels, sort of like when you melt butter in a skillet. My daughter also uses it and it works quite well for her also. it's a keeper. and the big bottle lasts us both a month, and we use it 4x a week each. we dont have massive amounts of hair, but, we have a lot of hair. so, for it to last a month, a little bit goes kind of a long way. it coats the hair well, and doesnt feel slippery, or like it doesnt want to be there, if you're understanding me. buying tons more in the future.

Brows -Avon - Ultra Luxury Brow Liner
vanillasugardream 10/13/2012 6:01:00 PM
the Light Brown is a GREAT shade for me, a redhead. depends on your red hair, i suppose. it goes on well, blends easy, and makes my brows look natural, but also like I actually have some. my natural brow color is a VERY light red-blonde, which may as well be white. it looks like i have no brows until i use this, and when i do, they look natural. Always use a light hand when applying a brow pencil, too much will look goofy. These are often on sale for under $3, so, really, you cannot go wrong.

Cleansers -Avon - Liiv Botanicals Facial Cleanser
vanillasugardream 3/4/2010 6:16:00 PM
I JUST tried this today and will update if i need to. But, here goes: 99% of the time, for skincare or foundation, I will know the FIRST day if i like it or not. So far, I like it. the only negative thing I have to say is my skin seemed a tad dry after i was done BUT i have combo skin and this is normal for just about any cleanser I use.. The scent has been mentioned here. Cucumber-y I admit, but i love it! i also love the fact this is clear as water. I saw in many of the reviews that it is kind of watery. It wasnt to me, kind of normal consistency. I also liked the way it felt when massaging it into my face. My skin had no pinky look or redness going on, and seemed calm. I noticed NO irritation or tingly feeling. this sometimes happens with some products. I am not too overly sensitive but if my skin gets dry and flaky, my face tends to be more sensitive to products. Rinses very well, it isnt soapy or foamy but still performed as expected. LOVE how it feels on the face. no tight feeling afterwards. My pores looked decent too. Big plus. I think this was discontinued, not sure. The size of the tube doesnt bother me. 2.5 oz is fine, this should last a few weeks at least. Also I think leakage was mentioned. This wasnt a problem for me but i did turn it upside down and set it between other skincare products so it wouldnt fall/tip over, just in case. I WILL buy again if the results from today are the same results in the future. My daughter has a tube and I guess we will see how it works for her. We both may be seeking future tubes on ebay :)

Concealers -Avon - Ideal Shade
vanillasugardream 3/2/2010 9:47:00 PM
I got Neutral, i was lucky and got it for 1.99 and as a chick who has never needed a concealor for under eyes (until recently, I am approaching 40!) this is super awesome. Certainly doesn't seem like i paid 1.99. Not any wrinkles yet, luckily, but i do have a few fine undereye lines and stuff does love to get into them and cake. Well, i had a super busy day today and noticed absolutely NO caking or creasing. I also have combo skin (leaning towards dry) but the eye area tends to get oily sometimes. no creasing or caking, brightened up the area. Impressive because i would know by now if i was gonna love or hate it. &hearts. I'd say medium coverage. I cannot say in all honesty how it would work for dark undereye circles because so far, i dont have that problem (knock on wood) but it is great at eliminating that *tired* look. Will buy again. i got 2 of them, very pleased, perfect shade.I like the packaging/applicator too. like a long-wearing skinny lipstick tube, but kinda shorter and wider, if that makes sense.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Deja Vu - Sunday Brunch

If you like Demeter, give this is a try. This basically is a Demeter dupe. While this is not the longest-lasting fragrance ever, it smells AWESOME. exactly like maple syrup! yum yum yum. so different. the glass bottle is great. the price is pretty great. I will buy again. Also, I've had this bottle for over 5 years. it is half full. it has not turned weird or anything regarding the smell. that is impressive. they have a website, thankfully, because i first bought this at Target and then, didnt see it anymore. I thought maybe it was a Target house brand or somethign that got discontinued. i forget the exact website, but if you Google it, i think it is www.dejavufragrance.com. easy to find thru Google anyway. Check this out. They have scents like Rain and Fresh Cut Grass as well.

Gels/Soaps -Caress - Tahitian Renewal Body Wash
vanillasugardream 10/4/2009 2:25:00 PM
♥ it! it has a nice pleasant scent which is actually a bit different and even better once you're in the shower and the water hits it and you're lathering up, it's fruity but not annoying fruity, some other note in there that makes it near perfect. the scrubbing beads are gentle. i was afraid the beads would be more scrubby and i wouldnt get enough lather but that is not the case. you will feel clean and refreshed and cheerful (maybe!) after using this. I see it is over $6 at drugstore.com. well that is ridiculous! it goes for 3.75 at Family Dollar and they have an in-store display coupon going on right now for $1 off so it is only 2.75. And Target has it on sale now for 2.99 and I'm pretty certain walmart will have it for under $5. Try it you'll like it :)

Gels/Soaps -Caress - Exotic Oil Infusions- Brazilian
vanillasugardream 10/4/2009 2:15:00 PM
my daughter loves this. I like it a lot but I am doing this review for her :). She first started using this around her 18th birthday (march of this year) first off, it feels great, it lathers well, a little bit goes a long way. the whole bottle lasts her for a month. it has a different, pleasant scent that is not overpowering, but still a bit strong. we hate weak scents and we hate overpowering ones as well. leaves skin smooth and clean and silky. I do agree with the girl who hates it that it gets awkward near the end, hard to squeeze out of the bottle. we just add a bit of water to it when it gets that way and it's good for about an extra 5 days. The one thing that sucks is that it can get $$$$$ depending where you purchase. Many stores are often out of it or just dont carry that scent. Walgreens and Riteaid both sell it and it's close to $7. I found it recently at Target for 3.49 on sale and got the last 2 for my daughter/ So keep an eye out for it. I wont spend more than $5 on it because i know i can get it cheaper than that. We have purchased about 7 bottles of this since march of this year.

Shampoo -Alberto Vo5 - Tea Therapy Vanilla Mint Tea Clarifying Shampoo
vanillasugardream 9/23/2009 9:16:00 PM
while this is not the best shampoo in the world, it is good. i dont rec this for ppl who need moisturizing shampoo, but you can figure that out since this is labeled *Clarifying*. The scent is pleasant, and a bottle lasts forever. It is REALLY good if you workout on a regular basis and your hair gets sweaty. Mine does even when i clip it up and put it into a ponytail. also good if you wash your hair every other day. i DO NOT use this every time i shampoo. I use it about 5 times a month. I alternate between this, the Lime vo5 clarifying, and Giovanni Triple Treat. I also do not condition my hair every single time. only about two-thirds the time. My hair looks good after it is air-dried when using this with no conditioner. my hair looks and feels clean yet sleek and smooth. So, overall, a good shampoo when not used all the time, it could possibly be drying if overused depending on hair type. much better than some pricier shampoos. It's .79 so all you have to lose is .79. good to keep in the shower. smells nice too. and good for those who work out or run/jog and get *sweaty hair*.

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Lip Lites in Metallic Mocha
vanillasugardream 9/22/2009 12:18:00 PM
I love it and have repurchased. It is not quite nude IMO. it is kind of a light taupey-brown if this makes sense. it stays on pretty well and is just slightly sticky. it isnt liquidy as some are. I feel consistency has about 90% to do with how the gloss makes lips appears. This also has a nice pleasant taste and i didnt notice that it can get cakey or weird in the corners of my mouth. It doesnt bleed much at all for a gloss. in fact it bleeds less than many lipsticks. I prefer it with light neutral colors. I dont try to wear this with dramatic eye makeup or reds, or citrus shades.

Masks -Freeman - Facial Enzyme Mask Pineapple
vanillasugardream 5/26/2009 7:25:00 PM
Ok, get this: I scored the last 6 of these at walmart for .10 each! so for under .70 including tax i got a ton of the stuff. i like it a lot. i got a slight tingle, very slight, it did not irritate my skin or dry it out or make it greasy. In fact my skin looked glowy and fresh that day and a few days after. I had no tiny dry flakes like i normally have with my combo skin, so it exfoliates decently. i figure ill use this twice a week. A little bit goes a long way. i did leave this on about a half hour. i think the package says 10 minutes. From the other reviews might not be good for the sensitive or those with certain plant ot fruit allergies or exczema. I have so much i may never need to rebuy! but i will, if i get a deal like this again1

Liquid -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Foundation-Softest Gold #40 (original)
vanillasugardream 5/26/2009 7:02:00 PM
next to Teint Idole Ultra from Lancome, this is superb. I scored 2 of the original formula recently for under $5. I realize i am lucky as i heard some unflattering things about the new formula. Original formula has great coverage, wears well, blends fairly easily, and doesnt accentuate any of the small flakes from my combination skin, which tends to be oily but i get the dryness too. Combo skin is hard to explain sometimes. Anyway, it also doesnt crease and seperate much. it does a bit if the weather's super hot or whatever, but, for the most part, it behaves. and i get no weird little breakouts or clogged pores along my jawline or on my neck (this was also mentioned in my reviews of the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra). and, get this: i scored it for 4.79 at a local store that still has the old cosmetic displays. I see the newer version is over $11 and with all the bad reviews on it, I am glad i paid $4 for the original. It wears well, nees a pressed powder touchup after about an 8 hr work day. Love it. not quite as much as the Lancome one mentioned above, but close.i will repurchase if i find more.

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Idole ULTRA [DISCONTINUED]
vanillasugardream 5/26/2009 6:47:00 PM
I love it! it doesnt give me any skin issues, and many foundations, even those which claim to be non-comodogenic, give me breakouts and clogged pores around my jawline and on my neck. weird, right? It blends quickly and evenly like a dream. It gives enough coverage that you DO get good coverage but not on the heavy side, more natural, but, again, coverage is still good. some foundations are heavy and thick but arent flattering. It lasts about 7 hours through a fairly busy hot day and just needs a powder touchup. It did NOT crease or shift that i have noticed, especially on the bridge of my nose from my glasses. my shade is perfect (N4 Ivory). I use it over avon Face Perfector which Reese Witherspoon endorses. Even without the Face Perfector, it gives me a nice, dewy finish that looks fresh but not greasy. price is a tad high but it's cheaper than a lot of foundations and i am VERY picky i hate most foundations so to me, $40 for 5 months worth of foundation isnt so bad.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Aqua Net Extra Super Hold Hairspray (aerosol can)
vanillasugardream 3/4/2009 3:59:00 PM
Unscented!I used many a can in high school (80's) and I was sooo surprised it is still around! even my dad loves it, he is in his 70's but has all his hair, it's just salt and pepper now! We each have our own cans. No sharing! Anyway, the price is a bit more than it used to be, but i can deal with spending $2 for a can of hairspray that should last me at least 4 months. I love the retro look of the can, the packagaing hasnt changed too much. still that pretty color that isnt quite lilac but too light to be purple. with the diamond-type design that i guess is supposed to depict a net. Anyway, it doesnt give me dandruff and it doesnt weigh my hair down or make it look greasy like some newer hairsprays too. Contains no CFC's for those of you who worry about that. Doesnt make me sneeze like some can hairsprays have done. I use mine as a rootlifter because if not my hair on top lies flat as a pancake even though it's thick.after it's blown dry and flatironed it also keeps the nice smooth volume in place at the bottom of my angled past-the chin bob so it doesnt decide to go frizzy and puff out throughout the day, but i can still flip it around a bit and it goes back into place and is still really soft considering the hairspray is doing its job. Also the next day it looks even nicer, believe it or not! the hold just keeps doing its thing without looking hair-spray-ey. i loved buying the bonus 3-pack at Hills as a teen for around $1.97. I also miss that there is just the purplish can because back then i know there were a few others, like the beautiful fuschia can which had a scent. They were all great though but this was and is my fave anyway. Different hairstyle, same results. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Stick -Max Factor - PAN - STICK
vanillasugardream 3/4/2009 3:36:00 PM
the one thing that made me happy is the fact my shade was available, because i can be hard to match! I am happy with the blendability. Coverage could be a little better. It's cheap enough. I like it but i dont love it. but to be fair it is very hard for me to find foundation that I am ever happy with for a long period of time. I do like that it has a somewhat moisturizing feel after it's been on for about a half hour. I like the packaging a lot very pretty. Another plus that other cosmetics layer over it nicely. Do touchups though with a blotting paper or pressed powder or tissue as this can get creasy throughout the day more so than other foundations. I will probably repurchase when i find it for half price at kmart. i got the one i have for 3.49!!!

Polishes -Avon - Nailwear Nail Enamel- Warm Black
vanillasugardream 11/12/2008 10:43:00 PM
the other reviewers are absolutely correct! it's sooooo great. AND it is TRUE BLACK, not like a really dark brown or anything weird, the name is sorta misleading. 2 coats, BAM. chip-resistant, lasts several days with minimal chipping. shiny. dries pretty quickly. I ALMOST purchased the Chanel one. But, hey. I'd rather spend $4 than $20! Black is the *New Red* in nailpolish. can be worn for clubbing or with a nice black suit or dress. so versatile. I love the bottle and the brush bristles are great. I will repurchase. i got 2/$5 recently
