I bought this front target. It was on clearance for only $6.88! I was looking for a good mineral foundation so or the price, I thought it wouldn't but to try it. I got this in "medium beige" and "natural".. Medium beige seems to be a bit dark for me, I think natural suits me better. The coverage was quite sheer, even if it is build able it won't give you a lot of coverage, but my skin isn't majorly bad so it was okay for me. I wouldn't recommend this if you need high coverage! The lasting power, I can't tell at all. At the end of the day, I cannot tell if it is my own skin or the makeup is still on. The smell is kinda gross, i can smell it when the make up brush comes near my nose. It also doesn't control any oil or keep your face matte either. It's not very good. I'm just glad i picked this up for a bargain because i would not pay full price for it. It didn't break me out or gave me any irritations or anything. This may work well as a sheer foundation setter. Wouldn't recommend this alone though.
Hmm.. everyone has different opinions so I guess that's the reason why this product has such ratings. I always hated moisturizing.. I never did, well i do it sometimes though. No wonder why my face was always dry (but oily on the nose) and I had dry patches and more imperfections. I bought a toner and this to go along with my facial wash to clear up my face. And since I had oily nose, the word oil balancing was so appealing to me. As I read the info on the tube, I was already sold. It was also on sale for like $6 or $7 aud so it was dirt cheap! The fact that it would balance out my oily and dryness and clear my face.. I was excited to try it. At first, I didn't like to too much, it didn't do anything.. Also didn't clear up my face. But after 3~4 weeks of using this along with my new toner, I've noticed a generous amount of change on my face. My face now looks more natural and smoother with make up on. I put a lot of this on and it mattifies very well! My minor imperfections has now faded away and cleared up too.. I still have some but I wouldn't be so afraid to leave home without make up now.. And I don't know if it's my toner but this product I really like now! It doesn't hydrate that good but for someone who hates that greasy, oily and richness on my face after moisturizing, this one is perfect for me! Really loving this.. On a day when I am working around in a fast food court and sweating, my make up melts and my whole face becomes oily so this doesn't really help but I still like this a lot so 4/5! One lipoid off because I don't think it's perfect to receive a 5/5 :) the packaging is okay :) nothing fancy, just a recyable plastic squeeze tube. I would purchase this again. But I don't recommend this too much to people because I know many people will hate this. This almost does nothing to moisturise!
Treatments -TheFACEShop - Blackhead EX Charcoal Pore Strip
vanessa4thewin 4/25/2012 6:14:00 AM
My sister didn't like these so she passed them down to me. I thought this could work a little for me at least. Either i put it on wrong, I don't have any blackheads or this stuff sucks. When I use my biore one, it didn't remove all but some of it actually were removed but this one didn't remove any. Very disappointed since many raved about this stuff. Plus, it stinks a lot. Thumbs down.
This foundation, as stated on the bottle lasted really long! It covers well.. The coverage is medium to somewhat heavy but it is hard to blend and can cake on your face! The texture is thick and sticky, makes blending hell! It's supposed to give you comfort and you're not meant to feel it while wearing thanks to the "Softflex" technology but it was the opposite for me! I felt really maskey while wearing this.. Something I haven't really experienced in other products. The packaging is horrible! It's a screw cap which pours too much product when you've hit the bottom of the bottle and you're too impatient for the product to come out, it takes forever! And the price is super expensive in Australia retailing around $35 to $38! One of the most expensive drugstore foundations I mug say.. I would not repurchase!
This mascara for me... Just another "average" mascara that I will never buy again! It makes my naturally dark lashes just darker and abut longer I guess. The volume I get with this is very little. But. What I like about this is it doesn't make my eyes look like I only have 4 lashes clumped together. It separated my lashes good. But i personally just don't like it that much, the packaging is so bold and super ugly. I don't like like brush either.. It's like a traditional toilet cleaning brush you know? It kind of flakes on my eyes too. I would never repurchase!
Foundations -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-In-One
vanessa4thewin 3/25/2012 8:47:00 PM
I've tried Asian bb creams and they don't match my skin tone at all! They make me look dull, grey, or pale. I can't find a bb cream that's my yellow undertone. So instead of purchasing a bb cream for $15 to $25 on eBay, I decided to just get the garnier bb cream for less than $10 from my local supermarket. It was super cheap and came with 50mL of product which is a plus because most facial products like foundations come in only 30mL. I got this in the color medium. In Australia the packaging is a bit different to other countries and the colors came in either just light or medium. The scent was quite strong. It's definitely perfumed which doesn't bother me at all cause I quite like it, the coverage was sheer and light. Some people said it was really watery and thin. But it wasn't too thick or thin! It was easy to blend in and light formula. And it actually gives you some coverage, it doesn't really cover your acne or scars but it will even out your overall skin tone, cover redness, lightly moisture your skin and has some added caring benefits for your skin like SPF 15. I didn't expect too much from it because I have heard large amount of bad reviews from this, I just needed something for everyday when I'm in a rush. But this was better than I expected it. I am liking it so far. I may repurchase if the added benefits stated on packaging are true and actually does what it says! I didn't wanna give this a 4.. I wanted to give this a 3.8 but yeah had to round off the odd score :)
Crème -L'Oreal - roll on true match foundation n4 beige
vanessa4thewin 3/22/2012 6:11:00 AM
I have been wanting to try thus for so long ever since it appeared on tv. A month ago, it was on sale for $12.70 which is the lowest price so far. But there was almost none left, all the yellow shades were gone and I was left with "sand rose" which was for medium skin tones. I just chose that color because I really wanted to try this. I thought it could give really even, flawless and heavy coverage. But when I tried it at home the color was dark for me. It made me look grey and dull. It was my fault anyway, but to get that really nice and flawless look you need a lot of primer and moisturizers underneath this or it could look cakey. The coverage was pretty heavy. The packaging is very unhygienic. This product had potential but overall, it just wasn't the thing for ,most people. The texture is very smooth but not very thick or sticky. It gives a cream to powder finish with a semi matte finish with some dewiness. Since trying this out I haven't worn this out to anywhere. I feel that I can't make it work. I guess it will be one of those products in my drawer that sits there but never gets to be used. Would not buy again.
Best mineral make up I've tried so far! Yes, the shades are very limited only coming in three shades (light, medium and dark) I have medium skin tone with yellow undertones. I use the medium. It's not pink or yellow undertones. It is pretty neutral. Although I don't get the exact color as my neck when I use it on my face, it brightens my complexion and a tad lighter for me, which I actually like. It is build able coverage. But if you put too much on, it will cake. I've been wearing this the past few days with my Sunscreen that has make up base in it so it's like 2 in 1. The sunscreen is so good! My make up lasts for more than 6 hours. From 8 am til night, if I don't take it off, it won't rub off. Usually it would rub off within few hours but I think this sunscreen is playing a major role as the primer! The oil control isn't that great, I still get oily after a while but if I use blotting sheets, I will look dry for the rest of the day and won't need to reapply anything! Today I did sport in school, I ran around the school 5 laps and my face was all red and sweaty. I was sure my make up would be gone but no, it was still there! After a while my face calmed down to my normal color and I had that nice coverage again! I realized how good it was and I just had to review it here. Since I have very few acne, I don't need a lot of coverage but this mineral powdery gives me medium to full coverage whither one layer. I might use a concealer on some minor i perfections when I have time but overall, it's very good! One lipstick down because it's so freaking expensive! $39.95 for a mineral powder... As a student, I will have to save a lot to get this! But this could last me for about a year! I use it wight en kabuki brush from nude by nature $14.95 again, it's pretty pricey for me but all of these aren't mine. They are my sister's but since I like it, I think I will save some money and buy these sometime.
Treatments -Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Acne Eliminating Gel
vanessa4thewin 3/14/2012 5:29:00 AM
I've been getting a few acne bumps around my nose on my cheeks on both sides recently. This has never really happened before.. Has to be one of my worse acne experiences.. Maybe a reaction to some product? So, I looked around my house for some acne solution and found 2 tubes of these sitting around. One from a magazine, one my sister had bought. I looked up the reviews here and was skeptical about it but still decided to give it a go. The info on the tube saying it would work in 8 hours did not buy me. But I was still convinced by some reviews that said their acne magically disappeared the next day. On my first Night, I applied it and the next morning the acne weren't all gone but they kinda flattened and dried up to the condition that I could scratch it off. I tried to scratch of off but they weren't ready. So I gave this a go for two more consecutive nights and my acne gotten worser. Now I have more spreading. I stopped using it. This was supposed to work within 8 hours.. I have it 24 hours (3 days) and it made my acne bad so I am disappointed. Would not repurchase. Glad this worked for others though.
I have yellow undertones and this bb cream has this grey cast on me.. The color is not dark for me but makes my complexion look dull and grey. The finish is semi-matte to dewy. I've only tried this a few times from my sister. Haven't given this a full trial yet. It seems to last pretty well through out but blotting and reapplying powder is required if you have combo-oily skin. The smell doesn't annoy me.. It's kinda nice and it never broke me out. But I won't buy this because of the color choice!
First, I bought this in the wrong shade to start off with.. I have yellow undertones and probably a "beige" but I was inexperienced with make up back then so I bought the cheap and wrong product.. The packaging is horrible.. It's one of those screw caps that leaks out too much product.. Uncontrollable! The shade I got was ivory which was too light and had pink tones. The consistency: it's very watery, thin and runny so blending is not a problem. But the coverage is very sheer! I guess it is buildable. It will only even out your complexion and cover redness. It cannot cover your acne or scars. It sets matte on my skin and has a tiny bit of sheen. I like that.. It lasts quite a while.. I didnt need to reapply anything. The price was very cheap. Overall, I don't recommend this!
Mascara -L'Oreal - Double Extend Mascara with Lash Boosting Serum
vanessa4thewin 1/14/2012 11:20:00 PM
I got this in color "black" and not waterproof. For both ends of the mascara, I wished they could have given more product but the product would be oversized and it will be like they are giving 2 mascaras for one price so I understand why. my lashes are short and very thin. Typical Asian lashes.. It provided almost no volume. I wasn't expecting a lot anyway since on the packaging it said to give good lengthening. But yes, I like this mascara because it lengthened my lashes more than my other mascaras. The color was very dark. And my lashes were more visible. It gave me a natural eyeliner look without any eyeliner. The serum/white primer is really good. I wish they sold it by itself in full size, then I would definitely repurchase. I did a little test where I applied on one eye, both sides of the mascara and in the other eye, the only black mascara. The results were clear that the white serum thing did a good job of lengthening and going neater lashes. The only downside is that when it got into my inner lash line, it irritated and stung my eyes a bit. I would repurchase but since I never really buy anything more than twice because I'm always on the look for new products, I probably won't repurchase :)
Picked this up from the local supermarket a long with other cosmetics since I needed new products for my face. The closest color I could find to my skin was medium moyen. So I tried this and I like it. It's pretty good! I don't really need a highlighter, I wanted a good concealer but I couldn't find the right shade for me in the maybelline superstay range and the market had limited stocks so I ended up without this one. The color is too light for me because when it is blended in, it gradually turns lighter. But the coverage was good. It covered most of my flaws, I setted it with some powder to even out my complexion and I get this clean and natural, cake-free face :) as for the packaging, its not that special. It is just a double ended concealer and highlighter dual. It's not hygienic because the brushes will keep touching your face and bacteria will enter inside the product but I'm fine with this. I wished they gave more product because it runs out too quickly! I wished maybelline made jut a concealer version of this in bigger packaging! But overall, I like it a lot and would purchase this again! :)
Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
vanessa4thewin 12/13/2011 12:49:00 AM
Picked this up from the local supermarket because it was a few dollars off. I really like this! It gives you a clean, matte finish. It says on the package that it gives a medium coverage. I disagree, I never had powder giving me medium or High coverage. especially pressed ones. It's almost no coverage to translucent for me. There was only around 2 to 3 shades to choose from because the store had limited stock. I chose Beige (a medium shade). When I applied it, it was a tad too light for me but it looked natural on me after it was set properly and blended. It didn't look chalky and caky on me. It was smooth and natural. now I don't wear any foundations/tinted moisturizers/BB cream. Because. Don't need that much coverage, it takes my time too much and it clogs my pores and makes my face cakey. Now I use the maybelline age rewind double face perfector concealer and highlighter in my closest shade (medium moyen) on the few imperfections and problem areas and set it with this powder. They are the perfect combo for me! My face look naturally clean and most areas are covered. It lasts pretty well on me through out the day, but I reapply the powder on my t-zone atleast once or twice. I heard a lot of people hated the packaging. It's a little strange. And I thought I was gonna hate it too but I really like it actually! I would definitely repurchase!! :D
I was kind of excited to try this because I tried tresemme's fresh start waterless foam shampoo and the smell was refreshing eventhough the product itself wad terible. since this one was dry spray shampoo I thought this night actually soak up the oils in the hair.. Boy, was I wrong. It just left residue on your hair if u spray a little more than u should. And it didt soak any drop of oil. So disappointing since I've some of their products and actually like it.. I have a heat Protectabt from tresemme and it smelt incredible but just left my ends crispy and damaged! I don't think I will ever purchase this product or any other from this brand again.. Tresemme! I think you should stick to normal shampoos!
