Foundations -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind- radiant firming makeup
valleychic 7/6/2012 9:31:00 PM
I bought this foundation in the shade Buff Beige #130. Right off the bat I have to confess that I bought the wrong shade. This is too light for me so I can't count that against it. As for the formula, it goes on very nicely and it blends well. This foundation makes my skin oily as the day goes on but I have not had any issues with breakouts. I would like to try this foundation in another shade so I will buy it again and give it another shot.
This mascara did absolutely nothing to my lashes; it didn't lengthen them and it certainly didn't define them. The formula is a little on the dry side. I will not buy this mascara again.
Tinted Moisturizer -E.L.F. - Studio Tinted Moisturizer

I use this moisturizer in the shade Nude. I picked it up because I wanted something with an SPF of 15 or higher and this claims to have an SPF of 20. There is no offensive scent (at least to me) in this product. Strong scents can be a deal breaker for me. This moisturizer comes in a tube that is a just shy of one ounce. It applies very smoothly and it is not very thick which is a big plus for me because I don't like the feel of heavy makeup on my skin. Plus, it is very hot and humid where I live and full coverage makeup will just melt away anyway. But even if does not provide much coverage, I still feel like it makes me look more polished if not altogether made up. If you prefer a full coverage product then this is not for you. I am very happy with this moisturizer and I will definitely purchase it again.
For me, the formula of this mascara is too wet. It did provide some nice length though. I actually like the brush very much. I just wish the formula were better. I will not repurchase this mascara.
Overall, Revlon Colorstay lipsticks are my favorite of the drugstore brands. They are creamy and moisturizing and they have no scent at all. I picked up Rum Raising thinking it would be a plum/brown color. On me this comes of as a rusty orangy color that is too warm toned for me. I will not buy this particular shade again but I do love Revlon lipsticks.
I like this product. It is good at controlling frizz and it does not weigh down my hair. I that this is a pump because it is easy to control the amount of product that you get. I would buy it again.
Overall, Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks are my favorite drugstore lipsticks. They are very soft and moisturizing and they don't have a scent. This particular shade--Fleshtone-- is a warm orangey nude that unfortunately does not work on me. It is too warm for me. I need a nude with a more pink undertone. I'm sure this looks great on warm toned ladies.
I have really enjoyed this mascara. It gives nice volume and length to the lashes. It did not flake or smudge. The formula is not too wet. I would buy this mascara again.
Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers Quad - Drama Eyes
valleychic 3/4/2010 10:26:00 PM
I love this quad. I find all the shades are nicely pigmented and go one very smoothly with no fallout. Yes, the burgundy shade is the crown jewel of this quad. I have nothing else like this color in my stash and this color alone is worth the price of the quad. But, the other colors are very nice as well. Although they are your standard white, silver & charcoal black with shimmer, they are very wearable and you can create a subtle everyday look or a nice smokey eye with just these three shades. I will definitely buy this set again.
This nail polish definitely requires 3 coats to get full coverage. It is a beautiful blue purple and I love it. Out of all the China Glazes I have, I think that this is the one that has chipped the quickest on me. That may be because I've been tinkering with my base & top coat combos. I will try it again and I will also try layering this to see what effects I a can come up with.
The Smokey blue quad consists of a matte slate gray blue, a shimmery dark blue, a light shimmery blue and a shimmery white. In the pan, the colors look very pigmented but as other Rimmel eye shadows, they actually come on light. They are buildable though. The application is nice. Not as chalky and flaky as smokey purple. I created a pretty nice look considering I don't wear blues often. But when I went outside and did a quick check of my makeup, the colors faded in natural light. I really like the colors and would like to find similar shades in a higher quality e/s. I will not buy this one again but I am going to hang on to it.
Just Kissed is a sheer red plum color. In the tube it looks very dark. This is practically a tinted lipbalm with a kick. It goes on very smoothly and sheer and it feels very moisturizing on the lips. The color is very pretty and very wearable since it is so sheer. It leaves a very pretty barely there tint on the lips but it is definitely noticeable. If you want to amp it up, you can line and fill your lips with a plum lipliner and layer this over it. I would buy this shade again.
Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers Trio - Golden Sunset
valleychic 2/26/2010 7:48:00 PM
Of all the Cover Girl eye shadows I have tried, this is one of the best. The three shade are very pretty and very wearable. They are shimmery but it is not a glittery or frosty shimmer. I use the golden sunset shade on the lid and lightly up to the brow. Morning Cocoa is my crease and outer v shade and first light is my highlighter. Sometimes I use golden sunset just as a wash of color and it is very pretty on its own. This is one of my favorite trios for fall and also for summer when going for a bronzed look. As far as application, these go one pretty smoothly and there is less fallout with these than with other CG shadows I have tried. Pigmentation is very nice. I am taking off one lippie because the packaging is pretty flimsy and it cracks and breaks easily. But otherwise, I am very happy with this trio and I will buy it again.
Eye Shadow -Rimmel - Colour Rush - 001 Smokey Noir
valleychic 2/25/2010 7:25:00 PM
I know I'm in the minority but I really liked this quad. I find it very wearable. And the best part is that I can use all four shades. This quad consists of a matte black, a shimmery gray, a shimmery silver and a matte gray. For an everyday look, I use the shimmery silver as a base & a highlighter, the shimmery gray on the lid, the matte gray in the crease and I build it up for the outer V and I use the matte black as a liner. I don't do a smokey eye too often but when I do, this is the quad I reach for because although the colors are nicely pigmented, they come off a little light when you first apply them. I think this is a good thing because it allows me to build up the intensity. The colors apply smoothly and I have found that this quad is not as chalky as my Rimmel Smokey purple quad. Also, there is not as much fallout with smokey noir. I always use an eyeshadow base so I have no problems with the colors creasing or fading. I will buy this again.
Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers Quad - Urban Basics
valleychic 2/24/2010 6:45:00 PM
This quad comes with a lavender purple shade, a taupey brown, a pink champagne and a frosty white. All have shimmer and little glitter flecks. The pigmentation is non-existent. I cannot get these to show up on me no matter how much I try to build up the intensity. There is a lot of fallout and I end up with glitter all over the place. I will not buy this again.
