i have medium-dark brown hair that is about 50% virgin, 50% processed many times and then dyed back to brown, with some highlights poking out. this is easy to use, the other downside is the formula may get one your wrists and will sting/burn bc of the peroxide and lemon. it works SLOWLY. if you're scared like i was (i'd finally gotten my hair LONG and pretty healthy and was really nervous about undoing my hard work) DONT WORRY! there is no risk of all of a sudden having scary orange highlights. i have some pieces that i did several times that are now a dark blonde; most others are a light-medium brown. this is good for me - it looks nicely blended. the color is very pretty and natural and flattering. i'm so glad i found this. it saved me from putting down $200 at the salon to get some lightness back. it is a great product.

Mascara -Unlisted Brand - Suncoat - Natural Sugar-based Mascara

this is really crappy. i bought this because i have lash extensions and have one "bald" patch where many extensions have fallen off. i wanted to fill in the area without compromising my other lashes, and read natural mascaras are acceptable for use on extensions ugh. this is just a bad product. the aesthetic result is not particularly attractive. the product manages to be dry and sticky all at once. hardly any product on the wand. takes ages to dry AND flakes quickly (?!?!). btw i never have a problem with flaking. i will continue to use it with my falsies but would never use this otherwise.

i have medium long, thick, voluminous wavy-but-straightened caucasian hair my issues with this product: -secures knot very loosely -is visible -nearly impossible to get "set" -ends are alway loose and flipping out of the bun -hard to get out my end result: a loose, heavy, saggy bun with visible wires around it and tufts sticking out, that's hard to fix/undo. yikes!

since everyone else who is on the fence about this product seemed to choose "NO" buy again, i will choose "YES" so that this product doesn't end up with brutal reviews. WILL i purchase it again? probably not. i can only count one skincare product i have repurchased, of hundreds i have bought. moving on... in case the package is not clear enough, this is NOT a clarifying mask. this is an intense moisture mask for dry, dehydrated skin. this is NOT meant to clean pores, shrink pores, or dry up zits. these reasons are why i do not use it anywhere near my breakout zones (chin, mainly). i use this everywhere i would apply a moisturizer and worry about signs of aging: around my eyes, upper cheeks, forehead. for this purpose it is a nice moisturizing mask at a very low price. it absolutely does not sting, and smells perfumed (personally i prefer something earthier). pretty color too (dye, not natural, i'm sure)

REALLY impressed with this. went to buy the biotin shampoo after reading great reviews but there was one lone bottle of this left (is it DC'd??) and the writing/ingredients on the bottle of this was more up my alley. after even the first shampoo (of two), in the shower, my hair felt soft. i used my earthscience conditioner and wow is my hair soft and clean feeling. very happy with this purchase. fyi, i have medium-long, damaged, growing-out but previously bleached, thick, voluminous, wavy-curly caucasian hair.

Shampoo -Batiste - Dry Shampoo - Blush Scent

some points on this product, in no order $9 CDN I thought I had read that the original had a bad scent, and i also have had bad experiences with unpleasant smelling dry shampoos (furterer) so i spritzed this and thought it smelled nice enough. cute vintage looking can. used it on my dark brown hair and noticed no residue/powdery-ness. my boyfriend said my hair smelled great. seemed to work well too although i probably applied a bit too much (first time...) - could have been more conservative and just done my main roots i think this might be a savior product for me. i'm desperately trying to grow my hair and the less often i have to wash it means the less often i have to heat style it. i will update if my feelings change.

i'm liking this. 120 is a perfect match for me. i would say it's more like a tinted moisturizer - only good to even out skin tone, not cover serious imperfections. sheer and light reflecting. feels comfortable. really nice product! would prefer a pump.

i feel "bad" about saying no to re-buy on this, because the product has no inherent flaw. my no re-buy is because the color did not work for me. so MUA community, i apologize if i am breaking an unwritten rule of reviewing. i am fair with neutral undertones and this looked too peach-orange on me. i was not expecting that! in some lights it looked blatantly ORANGE. i thought this was a pinky, nude, by all the reviews and official info. the wear-time is good, as others have said it is long-wearing... but i wouldn't exactly say this holds on for dear life, as i was expecting (miracles, maybe?). highly concentrated pigment, as others have mentioned, too.

really love the scent of this. ginger and spicy men's cologne. not particularly moisturizing, although not exactly drying. better put, i wouldn't recommend it for dry hands.

Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - Ombra - Roll-on Mild deodorant (Camomile)
rated 3 of 5
valentina555 3/15/2011 12:47:00 AM

i use this after i shower but i don't "trust" it for a night out or a hot day. as it says clearly, it is a mild deodorant. i wouldn't say it smells great... it smells naturally and slightly sour (that sounds gross but i don't mean it to). i have had it for a few months and have BARELY used 5%, so the price (about $4CDN where competitively priced) is dirt cheap considering that. EDIT, i have bought this in "sport" as well and would add that it is no stronger, although its scent is more cologne'y. neither of these products protect against odour after a few hours. fine for around the house, but practice caution if you plan to use this for the work day/a night out etc

Gels/Soaps -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Satin Soap for Hands and Face
rated 4 of 5
valentina555 3/15/2011 12:41:00 AM

i have this in Aloe. i got it as handwash and decided to go ahead and try it on my face since i noticed it wasn't drying on my hands. worth a shot right? well, happily, i found it left my skin soft and didn't dry out my face either. seemed to remove my light makeup well, too. how terrific for $4.50 CDN ! good purchase. UPDATE, i am still very pleased with this. my skin is never dried out or flaky and i have really fallen in love with the scent - juicy, like REAL fresh tangerines (not synthetic!), the scent reminds me of a crate of fresh citrus fruit complete with leafiness.

Moisturizers -Jason Natural Cosmetics - 25,000 IU Vitamin E Age Renewal Moisturizing Creme
rated 4 of 5
valentina555 3/11/2011 11:25:00 AM

I ran out of my Clarins night cream in the blue glass jar (forget what it is) and was using various samples. I've been making an effort to buy more earth conscious products and this seemed to make a lot of sense to me for $7CDN. the product is thick so you need very little. a jar is huge and will last several months. quality is nice - my skin feels moisturized and soft doesn't get greasy. packaging - a tube would be more hygienic. overall i would recommend this for someone with sensitive, dry, normal, or combination skin who is looking for a nourishing moisturizer that does what it claims it will without frills at a very low price. i am constantly surprised that organic products tend to be less expensive than even drugstore. this performs as well as any high end product i have used (i have never used drugstore skincare products, only HE and organic, so can't compare to DS)

Hair Color -Clairol - Nice 'n Easy - Root Touch Up
rated 4 of 5
valentina555 3/7/2011 8:38:00 PM

i'm growing out my brown hair that has been pale blonde for many years. who knew that under all the bleach and highlights i had a small patch of grey! :***( i plucked them for a while, which left the area thinning because of all the non-grey hairs i'd pulled out along the way. then, they grew back short and spikey, of course. i knew i didn't want to get back into the salon habit just for a few scragglers, so after awhile i took the plunge with this. for the tiny area i needed to cover, i only used about 20% or less of the color and conditioner formula. i saved the rest alongside the brush and mixing tray. application was a snap. i left it on for 15 minutes - the amount recommended for "stubborn greys". i didn't patch test. i chose dark brown and was worried it may be too dark, since colorists usually say my hair color is medium brown. after rinsing, everything blended perfectly. a few greys still looked a little pale, although not grey per-se. i may do 17 minutes next time. overall an ideal product for those with small areas of grey. i can't comment on it's efficacy for full grey roots, although my gut instinct is that it may not be strong enough for that. EDIT, i have used this on my eyebrows, although this is off-label and officially supposed to be avoided. it works great (leave on for about 7 minutes and put vaseline around; apply carefully. it is unlikely to drip)

Shampoo -Shi Kai - Color Reflect Deep Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
valentina555 2/24/2011 7:55:00 PM

surprised myself by loving this. i am growing out my dark brown hair and the hair from my ears down (formerly bleached blonde) is now medium, slightly reddy brown with lighter highlights. this doesn't really impart a color change, per se, but i've noticed when i used it my color seems to all blend and melt together and look shimmery. everyone thinks i've gone to the salon and paid a lot of money for that beachy, hidden highlight look. also it is moisturizing. i will absolutely repurchase this.
