Blush -MAC - Sheertone in Pinch O'Peach
uhohemmylou 7/26/2011 5:33:00 PM
This is the first MAC blush I ever bought (like many others, apparently!) and it really is a beautiful color. The name is totally stupid and, like many others have said it's not really peach-toned at all, it's more of a dusty, medium pink. It's pretty sheer but very wearable, which is amazing. It's a great understated blush color when used on the more conservative side- I'm NC15 and using too much can make me look a bit clownish, but I can definitely see how it'd be great for people with lots of different skin tones. Maybe I'm biased and it's just nostalgia or whatever, but I really do love this stuff. :)

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm sphere -medicated tangerine
uhohemmylou 7/26/2011 5:29:00 PM
Again, the packaging is super adorable. I found that the tangerine scent of this particular balm was totally thrown off by an odd chemical scent which made it pretty unpleasant to use. Overall, the balm worked ok, no bettermthan the other eos balms I've tried, but the smell was ridiculous.

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Sweet Mint
uhohemmylou 7/26/2011 5:25:00 PM
I'm always searching for a great lip balm, and this definitely does the trick! It works, smells great, and doesn't taste awful! The packaging, although adorable, does get a little annoying- when the little egg-shaped block of lip balm gets flat on the top, it gets more difficult to use, although there's obviously still a ton of balm left over (if that makes sense, heh). Other than that, this stuff is great!!! I'll definitely repurchase and try other flavors.

Fragrances -Juicy Couture - Viva La Juicy
uhohemmylou 7/26/2011 5:14:00 PM
This smells great, and is super easy to find. I have a bottle and a rollerball. Unfortunately this doesn't last long, but it's a great scent (although very, very, very popular) and it won't make you smell like a hooker unless you really load it on. It's great for people who like sweet smells, just don't burn yourself out on it!

Cleansers -L'Oreal - Go 360 Anti-Breakout Facial Cleanser
uhohemmylou 7/26/2011 5:10:00 PM
OMFG I BOUGHT INTO THE GIMMICK. Only rated it a two because of the scrublet, which is a good gentle exfoliator- whatever. The cleanser did NOT work for me and I continued to break out. After a while the cleanser started to get a bit drying, and it continually failed to prevent break outs. Maybe others from this line work better but this one was not for me.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
uhohemmylou 7/26/2011 5:05:00 PM
I was reluctant to review this product because it obviously works wonders for some, and I was fine with it AT FIRST but after using it for a bit, I noticed a change in my skin that was disappointing and kinda gross. I figured I would try this product with my everyday foundation (Make Up Forever Mat Velvet +), and initially my skin felt really smooth. I didn't notice any huge difference in the way my foundation applied, and it didn't seem to increase the staying power noticeably either, but I wrote that off, thinking I would try it with another foundation when I ran out of my Mat Velvet. After about two weeks of use, however, I started noticing a lot of dryness on my chin and on my forehead, which seemed a bit odd because I tend to lean a bit oily. My entire routine was the same, the only difference was the primer! My skin really isn't that sensitive, so the whole thing was bizarre. I used it for another week, thinking that it must just be some sort of change in the weather, etc. (dumb!), but by the end of that week I looked like a legit lizard. Oh well! I've stopped using it now, and I'll never revisit it again! I wanted to like it so bad!

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer Oil -Free
uhohemmylou 7/26/2011 4:56:00 PM
I've been using this for upwards of a month now, and it works fine with SOME foundations (at least I've found,) like NARS Sheer Glow, but not as great as others. Whatever. It doesn't smell, and it's not oily so my pores are never clogged after using it. The packaging is fine and about what I expected. While I think this primer is good, I'm not overly impressed with it and will probably search for a cheaper primer in the future.

Conditioner -Organix - Moroccan Argan Oil
uhohemmylou 7/20/2011 9:56:00 PM
This was majorly disappointing and it made my hair feel kind of gross. I'm not so great with my hair or hair care products- I like using Moroccan Oil occasionally because it softens my hair and smells amazing. This conditioner smells rather chemical-ly, and doesn't really soften my hair at all. Bummer! While it's pretty cheap, the packaging is weird (IMHO, anyway) and my hair didn't see any of the supposed benefits of Argan Oil .

Eye Shadow -NARS - Cyprus (Single Fall 2004)
uhohemmylou 7/20/2011 9:46:00 PM
This is such a beautiful shadow. It's great all over the lid or in the crease with a lighter goldy color. It was really difficult to justify spending $20 + on a tan shadow, but the texture and color is amazing! And I do think you get a lot of product, which is great considering the price, but it's still pricey!

Eye Shadow -NARS - Alhambra
uhohemmylou 7/20/2011 9:37:00 PM
I love this duo- the first shade is a peachier, pinker gold and the second is more of a "true" gold. The texture is amazing and it's opaque enough to wear on it's own, although the colors lend themselves well to highlighting, etc. The only reason I'd give this 4 instead of 5 is that I can only really wear the peachier shade on it's own (because of my skintone, not the product itself) and I DO experience a little bit of fallout while applying, although that was remedied by patting it on rather than just swiping it. Overall, this is an amazing shadow!

Hair -Moroccanoil - Moroccan Oil
uhohemmylou 5/2/2011 1:44:00 PM
I really like the way this stuff made my hair feel immediately after using it (wonderful and soft and smooth), and, as has been previously stated, it smells AMAZING. The smell stays in my hair too, which is nice, especially when I wear my hair down. Because my hair is pretty coarse, the smoothing benefits of Moroccan Oil is super awesome. All of that being said, I only KIND of like this stuff. Although it smells lovely and leaves my hair feeling soft right after using it, it is really easy to overdo it with this product, leaving my hair greasy looking and weighed down. Not such a good look. Moroccan Oil also doesn't really have any long-term benefits for your hair, it just kind of sits on the surface, making it look and smell really nice for just short while. I should also mention that this stuff has a tendency to stay in my hair like no other! Even as I'm washing my hair, I can feel the oily residue the Moroccan Oil leaves behind, which seems like kind of a no-brainer, but it bothered me quite a bit. I hate feeling like I can't get my hair 100% clean. I also suspect that Moroccan Oil is giving me breakouts on my shoulders (just around where my hair hits,) and my neck. Gross! No matter- I had been using it everyday when I noticed the breakouts, and I've since cut back on my usage, but it still sucked. Overall, I'm kind of on the fence about Moroccan Oil. I really like the short term benefits, but I think I'd use it more as a "special occasion" type product. I might repurchase, but I don't see a need for that any time in the near future.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Peach Petal
uhohemmylou 1/6/2011 4:58:00 PM
I own this as well as the one that I think is called "Pink Whisper." While I prefer this one to the pink, this isn't the best gloss in my collection. I really enjoy the color, but I find that it doesn't wear too well (as in, it wipes off fairly quickly). Another thing I really DISLIKE about this is the smell, which I find to be quite chemically and not very nice, although its nowhere near as bad as the way Nars glosses smell. Overall, I think the color is beautiful and the gloss isn't drying at all, so I'd say its a win, although the smell and the staying power isn't perfect. I would probably repurchase versus a Mac lipglass, for the price.

Polishes -Sephora - Sephora by OPI Dark Room
uhohemmylou 12/1/2010 1:42:00 PM
I just revisited this polish for the first time since I bought it and I am not a fan. I love the idea of this, I really do! But the formula is... super sheer. It took 3 coats to get it ALMOST opaque, which I find ridiculous because I paid... $9 for it I think? AND THERE WERE STILL SHEER SPOTS ON MY NAILS. AFTER 3 COATS! Gross. Like I said, I love the idea, but bad execution!

Lip Gloss -Stila - guava lipglaze
uhohemmylou 12/1/2010 1:36:00 PM
I got this as a part of the 2010 holiday set- I think it was 8 for $25. Guava is my definitely my favorite. I'm used to Stila Lip Glazes being way too shimmery for my taste so I don't often buy them, but this one is a nice matte. It's a pinky-mauvey-brown and has an amazing fruity scent. The click-pen-brush applicator is, as always, amazing. The only possible drawbacks to this would be: a) like other Lip Glazes, this can get a bit sticky, although not as much as MAC or Nars lip glosses, and b) Its not moisturizing at all (I know most glosses aren't, but it's a little annoying having to apply a balm on underneath). I'll definitely be repurchasing this in its full-size version!
