Shampoo -LUSH - Seanik

I rotate my shampoos often and try to never buy the same shampoo twice, but this is the only one that I will buy again and again. First, I love it because it cleans well and doesn't leave behind residue. Second, I love it because it gives a little bit of body to my hair. Lastly, it smells fresh and kind of ocean-like. The major downside is when you get to the end of the bar. For me, the bar lasts about 2 months, and then during the 3rd month it starts disintergrating. I try my best to keep it dry when I'm done with my shower, but inevitably, it will turn into an unusuable, goopy mush. I probably waste 30-40 shampoos worth of the bar every time. It also does go "bad" after a while where it becomes less effective for me and leaves behind residue when it didn't before.

Lips -Bath and Body Works - Goldie Whip it
rated 4 of 5

Looks like this color is being discontinued! As someone else noted, it's a perfect Barbie pink. I bought a mini-tube of it about a year ago, and I'm still working on it (I don't use it everyday because of the boldness of the color). The texture is nice and smooth, and the scent, like all of Goldie's glosses, is heavenly. Get some while you can! If they're 75% off, they should only be about $3.50 or so for the full tube.

Lip Gloss -Bath and Body Works - Goldie Lipgloss in Naked

Wonderful color -- MLBB shade. It's not overly sticky, and it lasts for quite a while. Delicious caramel/vanilla/toffee scent! I will definitely repurchase until the end of time, and if they discontinue it, I'm stocking up. Things I don't like: 1) The packaging, although it seems sturdy, is a little clumsy at times. It's huge. The wand feels like it might break because it's so long. 2) The price. At least I picked this up during a BBW sale where they were only $5 each.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Prince Matchabelli - Wind Song

I feel bad writing this awful review after people raved about it below, but -- This smells like powdery old ladies. In a bad way. I can't stop gagging whenever I smell this. I got it as a gift when I was in the 10th grade -- I don't know what the gift-giver was thinking. This is definitely a "mature" scent, but it really does smell something awful to this nose.

Lip Gloss -Urban Decay - Hotpants Lip Gunk
rated 4 of 5
ucfmariana 10/19/2006 9:52:00 PM

I have to admit that I have more or less, sentimental values attached to this shade. It was my first real lipgloss ever, and I loved the Fruit Loops-esque smell. The color was a perfect mid-pink on my lips, and the texture was just sticky enough to stay for a while. Since then, I've moved on to other shades and brands, but once in a while, I come back to this. :) My only peeve is that the tube isn't too durable -- my first tube cracked pretty badly.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rated 5 of 5
ucfmariana 10/19/2006 9:43:00 PM

Good stuff, crappy packaging. I think that's the general concensus anyway. ;) Before using UDPP, my eyeshadow would crease and fade like mad. Although, at the end of a 12 hour day my makeup doesn't look exactly like when I first applied it, it's still a truly fantastic product that everyone should have. Of course, the major downside is the tube. I have no clue at all as to how much product I have left.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Honey [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

If you want a pure gold, with no strange orange/green/red undertones, this is it! It really does feel like a dream -- so smooth and soft. It stays on and doesn't stray if I put primer on before it. I'm definitely investing in the other colors of this line.

Scrubs -Origins - Modern Friction
rated 4 of 5
ucfmariana 10/19/2006 9:31:00 PM

I liked this product a lot -- it was definitely, as they advertised, a gentle "microdermabrasion" scrub. It didn't feel harsh, and it left my skin feeling soft and generally smooth. But that's all it really did. The only reason why I would repurchase this is because it really is gentle, and most other scrubs I've used feel extremely grainy or jagged. I would actually suggest that you do the scrub after you've taken a shower. Once your skin is more moist, the scrub goes on more easily and it won't feel like you're tugging at your skin.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Inventive Eyes Quad
rated 5 of 5
ucfmariana 10/19/2006 9:20:00 PM

You can label me "stuck in a (makeup) rut" all you want, but I've been using this palette almost every day since I bought it in 2005. I place Velour on my lid, Inventive in my outer lid and crease, a tiny bit of Twillery just above my inner lid, and use White Wheat for browbone highlight. Everything about this quad is perfect -- it's not glittery and the shadow textures are wonderful. It's my classic school/work look, and until I find something more perfect, I won't change. ;) Good thing I bought backups of this great neutral LE item.

Masks -Juice Beauty - Green Apple Peel
rated 3 of 5
ucfmariana 10/19/2006 9:08:00 PM

I've been using this weekly for 6 weeks now, and I have to admit it does fade scars and marks, to an extent. Some of my lighter marks have faded, and my skin overall feels smoother. However, I feel like I'm about to hit the point of maximum effectiveness. The first couple weeks with it was really nice, and I felt like there was definitely improvement -- but now, I want the darker scars to fade away. I don't know when or if that will happen with this product, and it may not be worth buying another jar because of its hefty price tag.

Makeup Brushes -Ulta - Foundation Brush
rated 5 of 5
ucfmariana 10/19/2006 9:01:00 PM

I wanted an alternative to MAC's 190, and this really does the job. The bristles feel very nice, and like another reviewer said, not scratchy at all. The only thing I don't really like is the clear plastic handle -- it's a little cheap-looking and the bottom chips easily.

Lips -Eyeko - Fruity Felt Lip Pen - #1
rated 3 of 5
ucfmariana 11/6/2005 11:17:00 PM

I wanted a lip stain that worked as a marker, so I was interested in this. I had swatched it on my hand, and I thought the dark pink would look nice on my lips (I just don't try out cosmetics anywhere on my face unless I know it's completely sanitary). So I bought it, regardless of the hefty price tag.

It's okay. Just barely. It turns a very bright pink on my lips, though. I usually swipe this on and put a bit of my clear C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine, and it works nicely. However, after buying this, I started to see cheaper versions of it everywhere, and those could have worked just as well. Another thing is that I don't know when I'll know it's used up - the outside container visually obstructs the felt reservoir.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Juicy Tubes - Sparkling Odile
rated 2 of 5
ucfmariana 11/6/2005 11:11:00 PM

The colour itself is interesting - it imparts a kind of "wet" look on your lips, perfect for topping off a lipstick. An MA coerced me to get it, and I kind of regret it. Like someone mentioned earlier, this colour can be duplicated for much cheaper. The worst part is the smell; I can't stand it! It's so sacchrine-y and fake sugary that it makes me sick. :P

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Mentha Lip Shine
rated 5 of 5
ucfmariana 11/6/2005 11:00:00 PM

I love this stuff! The peppermint is so tingly and refereshing - and it naturally plumps my lips! The end result is super glossy, and I love mixing this with MAC pigments to make my own lipgloss. I have one of the originals, and a tinted one (1137), and I sure hope that neither of them ever gets discontinued. The packaging is okay, I like the slanted applicator, but sometimes I'm afraid the tube is going to explode in my purse, or something sharp will poke through the soft plastic.

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - Tutti Dolci Lemon Meringue Body Wash
rated 4 of 5
ucfmariana 4/11/2005 7:59:00 PM

I loved the lotion, so I had to get the bath wash. I was a little disappointed that the scent didn't stick around for too long, but it's nice and refreshing in the shower. The packaging is a little awkward, like a giant toothpaste tube.
