Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - 424 Black Creme
rated 4 of 5

This is probably the most pigmented black polish out there. Unfortunatly, it chips just as bad as all the other black polishes. However, since its so pigmented its not a huge deal to fill in the chips with one coat. So cheap, would definitely buy it again.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Walgreens - Alpha Hydroxy Lotion 8%
rated 2 of 5

For the first few weeks I thought this was my miracle product. My acne was actually clearing up and my skin was a more uniform color. Mind you, my skin was nowhere near perfect but it was the best it had been in a long, long time. Then Bam! - all of the cystic acne on my chin and the left side of my face (for some reason I only get it in those 2 areas) flared up at once. My skin has never been so bad. Ever. In fact, 2 months later I am still recovering from it. I still have all of the red and purple marks as well as a few active spots. I'm not 100% certain that this product caused this, but there is a very good chance it did. For some reason this does not aggravate my body acne much so I am using up the jar and switching to the Alpha Hydrox line.

I love these brushes! So soft, no shedding - it feels like you are using a super expensive brush, but so cheap! If you are in the market for a new brush, definitely give Ecotools a try. You will not regret it.

Polishes -Sephora - Sephora by OPI Caffeine Fix
rated 2 of 5
twofishes13 1/17/2009 11:35:00 AM

I really loved this color, but the thinnest coat refuses to dry for me. I will always do my left hand first and with other polishes (including regular OPI) by the time I do my right pinky, my left thumb is dry to the touch. With Caffeine Fix it totally smudged. It was not dry at all. Also, after 3 coats (waiting at least 15 - 20 minutes between each and applying a quick dry product to attempt to dry the coat) the color is still kind of streaky.

Makeup Brushes -Japonesque - Travel Powder Brush 933
rated 2 of 5
twofishes13 2/29/2008 1:47:00 PM

While this brush is probably the softest brush I have used on my face, it also has shed the most hair. Since the first time I have used it, it will leave 3 or 4 hairs clinging to my face. This is really annoying because they cannot just be brushed away. I have to wet a cotton swab and press it against the hair to get it off. Not worth the money!

Blush -Jane - Be Pure Mineral Blush
rated 3 of 5
twofishes13 11/2/2007 3:26:00 PM

I have this in Rose Satin. In my opinion, it is not a good thing that this blush (or any blush) is highly pigmented. If I put on a little it doesn't really show up, but any more than that and I look like a clown. There is no middle ground or perfect amount with this blush. And this stuff does not like to blend. AT ALL. However, it does not break me out, so I will give one of the other colors a shot to see if they work any better for me.

Gave me the worst breakout I've had in a long time. :( I should have known better. Harsh scrubbing beads + menthol = Breakout city.

Blush -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Talc Free Blush Pink Glow

This is actually a pretty good drugstore blush. It didn't break me out, the color is nice and it has good staying power. It is a bit over pigmented though. However, I just go a bit lighter with it and it looks great!

Gels/Soaps -Softsoap - SoftSoap Naturals Milk&Honey hand soap
rated 5 of 5
twofishes13 4/8/2007 9:33:00 PM

Wow. I totally disagree with the reviews that call this "moisturizing". We have this in the bathroom at work and whenever I use it my hands feel like all of the moisture has been stripped out of them. I have to immediately run for the lotion! *EDIT* I have discovered that it is the horrible water! No matter what soap is used my hands feel awful.

Shampoo -TRESemme - COLOR THRIVE
rated 2 of 5
twofishes13 6/28/2006 1:16:00 PM

I had been looking for a good color safe shampoo / conditioner and I decided to try this because it was on sale. It doesn't weigh my hair down and doesn't strip the color out. However, it does not seem to enhance the color so I alternate the conditioner with my own concoction of Feria conditioner + Special FX hair dye. It also smells really good! **ETA*** After using this for about 3 months my hair had so much build up I had to use a clarifying shampoo for a week to get my hair feeling normal. So sad. It was great at not fading out my color.

Styling Products -Beyond The Zone - split decision
rated 5 of 5
twofishes13 4/22/2005 6:45:00 PM

This stuff made my hair much less frizzy (it is frizzy because I dye it too much). It did tend to weigh my hair down a bit (not greasy at all), but I think that is too be expected from any frizz mender. For me, it works both ways - blow dry or air dry.

Hair Color -Garnier - 100% Color [DISCONTINUED]
rated 1 of 5
twofishes13 12/16/2004 5:44:00 PM

The word "permanent" should not be anywhere near this product. Unless "semi" or "not" is in front of it. I decided to try blue black. In less than 2 weeks, it faded enough that I was able to dye it a dark red. Also, the conditioner is terrible. My everyday conditioner makes my hair feel better than the tube of conditioner they included with 100% color.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express Turbo Boost Waterproof
rated 4 of 5
twofishes13 5/1/2004 1:41:00 AM

I bought this because of the good reviews, but I was misled... Oh, the horror of the clumpy flakiness!!! I must admit though, that this is the most waterproof mascara I have ever used. *ETA*: After using this for about a month it no longer clumps and flakes. I have no idea why. It's creepy. Now I love it!

I have this in "heatwave." It didn't show up at all on my *fair* skin. Not worth the money!

I have this in Sutton Place Peach and I love it. It lasts for a long time on my terribly oily skin and does not cause me to break out. A great product for the price!
