Liquid -Lancome - Teint Idole ULTRA [DISCONTINUED]
twinkle10 5/30/2009 6:36:00 PM
My twin sister has this foundation and I thought it looked decent on her and liked the pump style bottle. Fortunately, I started with only a sample bottle. The color was a good match and went on smoothly. I generally wear lighter foundations by day during the warmer months (which are most in FL) so this was a bit heavier than I was use to. Well after two days of wearing this, my face has erupted. My son actually just came up to me and asked me what "That Big Thing" was on my face. "That Big Thing" would be the largest of my many blemishes this foundation has caused. To be fair, I do have sensitive skin which is why I started off with a sample. But I have never had this bad of a reaction. (I've used Lancome Color ID and loved!) I will be going back to Prescriptives Virtual Skin which is very similar to Lancome's DC'd Color ID.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Plum It
twinkle10 7/28/2008 2:34:00 PM
Plum It is from Sally Hansen Salon LE Fall '08. This is a gorgeous deep purple with red shimmer - looks beautiful in the bottle. Unfortunately the shimmer is almost invisible unless in direct bright sunlight. Most of the time it is a flat blackened purple - not particularly unique imo. I've also observed that these SH polishes seem to show scratches on the surface very quickly. If only I could get the color in the bottle to translate onto my nails - this would be a winner.

Polishes -Elizabeth Arden - Notting Hill Rosebud
twinkle10 7/27/2008 9:57:00 PM
Notting Hill Rosebud is a lovely deep rosey pink creme with shimmer so slight it's barely noticeable. It applied and wore beautifully as most Elizabeth Arden's do. I found it to be very flattering against my fair, warm toned skin.

Polishes -China Glaze - Pink Rox-E

I so wanted to love this color, and I do.....on other people. It's a lovely light pink with gorgeous gold sparkle. On my fair, warm skin it just looks bad. Not flattering at all. Such a disapointment. I've avoided the sun a bit this summer - I will revisit this color when I have a bit of a tan and see how it looks.

Polishes -OPI - Concord Grape
twinkle10 7/18/2008 4:12:00 PM
Concord Grape is a cool, deep shade of purple (dark but not blackened). Although it has shimmer, it is really only noticable in direct sun. Inside, it has almost a metallic/silvery sheen to it. I love purple and am pleased to have found this color, but in all honesty it's probably too cool for my warm toned skin. For this reason alone I would probably not repurchase.

Polishes -Essie - Moda Scoota
twinkle10 7/17/2008 1:11:00 PM
Moda Scoota is a difficult color to describe! The base is definately a plum, mixed with a bit of burgundy with a lot of very fine gold shimmer. The shimmer is so fine it almost gives the appearance of a metallic finish on the nails. I found that two coats of this was more than enough coverage. This a beautiful color for fall and works very well on my warm toned skin.

Polishes -China Glaze - Social Animal
twinkle10 7/13/2008 7:43:00 PM
Social Animal is a beautiful burgundy/berry toned polish with loads of tiny microglitter. It applied and has worn well as most China Glaze polishes do. Although this is a cool tone it looks great against my pale, warm skin. This is officially one of my favorite colors!

Polishes -China Glaze - Pure Elegance

A nice medium pink with lots of pink shimmer makes for an interesting color. It has what I would describe as a "glowy" sheen to it - quite soft & pretty. This polish was one of the newer ChG formulas but still applied nicely and is wearing well. A great summer pink!

Polishes -China Glaze - Its 5 O Clock Somewhere

What a great color! Deep magenta with hot pink and purple micro flecked glass shimmer. The formula was a bit sheer but became opaque with 2 coats. (I stopped at 2 coats but probably would benefit from a 3rd) Just a very bright, fun summer color with the micro glass shimmer that China Glaze does so well.

Polishes -Elizabeth Arden - Mayfair British Red
twinkle10 6/24/2008 10:12:00 PM
This polish is a bright red with a hint of pink shimmer. I didn't find the color to be terribly unique but it had a lovely shimmery finish while still extremely smooth. There does seem to be a pattern with Elizabeth Arden red's of a beautiful "glowy" finish as other reviewers have described. Like all Elizabeth Ardens, the formula applied like a dream and held up well.

Polishes -OPI - My Big Break
twinkle10 6/23/2008 1:09:00 PM
My Big Break is from OPI's 2007 Hollywood Collection. It is a nice mid tone rose with a hint of purple. It flashes green shimmer which makes it's color original. It has somewhat of a foil finish. This color is cool but was still wearable for me although I'm fair and warm toned. As with most of the Hollywood's it's formula was quite thick and goopy but easily corrected with a few drops of thinner. It's a nice color but probably not something I would repurchase.

Polishes -China Glaze - Sass in a Glass

A gorgeous sparkly pink/red! The color itself is not terribly unique but the generous amount of silver micro glitter is what sets it apart. Like most China Glaze polishes it applied very well and had good staying power. This is an excellent color choice for summer - you'll love the way your tips or toes sparkle in the sun!

Polishes -Butter London - Butter London*Billy No Mates*
twinkle10 6/21/2008 3:58:00 PM
Billy No Mates is an opaque dove gray colored creme. It was thick but applied well. With the right skin tone this trendy color could be carried off. Unfortunately, it looked horrible on my fair, warm toned skin. I would go so far as to say this is the most unflattering color I have ever tried (and I have tried A LOT!) As mentioned by other reviewers, Butter London also has some packaging issues with the caps on these polishes. It is difficult to open and close and ackward to apply polish with. There are many other lovely gray shades available - sadly this one was a disapointment for me.

Polishes -OPI - Met on the Internet
twinkle10 6/21/2008 3:30:00 PM
This color is from OPI's 2008 Valentine e-Romance collection. The color is bright red with a stong amount of fuschia/pink shimmer. It's very sparkly! The polish applied and held up well. I am fair & warm-toned but this color looked nice against my pale skin. A great red for summer as well as Valentines!

I don't generally get excited over browns but I love this color! I think it's been described very well already. A rich brownish plum with tons of sparkle. I did find it to be similar to OPI Espresso Your Style but more plum and sparkle. Excellent color for fall.
