Moisturizers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer spf15

I am a 45 yo female with dry skin. Normally I use Cetaphil hypoallergenic moisturizing lotion, but I know that with my fair sensitive skin I really should use some sunscreen. I found this product actually drying to my skin. It is actually "less" radiant" then when I use my good ole standby Cetaphil. I gave this product a 3 because it may work for someone with combination or oily skin. But that ain't me anymore. Unfortunately I bought it at Costco, and it came in a two pack. So those who do like it can get it there. Since I did get it at Costco, maybe I can return it.
I just bought this and wore it for the first time yesterday. I had a busy night and ended up sleeping in my mu. I woke up, with my lashes still perfect and curled! I had given up on wearing mascara on my lower lashes, until someone told me of the dry wand trick, but no worries. The only thing is I need to make sure not to put step one only on the ends of my lashes, since some of the white was peaking through near the base of my lashes. I will update, as I work with this mascara more. But for day one, it's a thumbs up!!!
Treatments -Aromaleigh - Acne Spot Treatment [DISCONTINUED]
twelvepercentt 7/7/2003 1:39:00 PM
I just recently purchased the acne spot treatment. Since I have been using the FRS for some time now, along with BHA's my skin has already gone through it's *initial* purging. But here comes summmer, and I am sure, that my most recent purging, is from all of the upper lip sweating. I had a nice little pimple there, and I felt a blackhead/whitehead forming around my nose. When I received my spot treatment, I started using it on those two places. I used it whenever I thought of it. Well, I went away this weekend, and I think I used it once then. But lo and behold, I just realized that both are gone! And no drying out of the skin. When I initially purchased my BHA's for the first time, I also purchased PC's blemish fighting solution. To my dismay, it was just benzoil peroxide. I could have picked that up at my local drug store. But........., my acne spot treatment is another story, and is as good as all the raves I have been hearing about it. I highly recommend it!
This stuff is da bomb! Everyone raved about how it makes your skin poreless. I didn't pay much attention, because I was focusing on how it controls oil shine through during the day, but on both counts, it works great! I have combination/sensitive skin, and put a light dusting all over my face, and then go over my eyes, and t-zone. Thumbs up!
I bought this TIGI metal lash comb at a Beauty Supply. The long handle is a pain, but I would have been happy with it, if that was the only problem. This worked great, as it is a metal lash comb, and does a much better job then the plactic ones. The directions say to clean it after each use, which I have been doing. And it worked fine, until.... One time I washed it, and one of the tines came out, and the next time, another. And I only had it about a month. I would expect this with a cheap drugstore brand, but not from TIGI. Edited to add, that I emailed TIGI, and they sent me out another comb. I still do not think I would buy another, but I am pleased with the customer service. And I love my Bedhead products.
Blush -Aromaleigh - Champagne Pure Blush [DISCONTINUED]

This blush takes some getting used to, to get the right technique. It is hard to get it to show up, but since it is a mineral mu, there are no rules. What you do is the finger method: I dip my finger in, and then kind of smush it into my cheeks, so that it is relatively a thick layer. You can also use it as an all over face brightener, and it works well that way!
I love this, but the "Oil of" version by Fragrance shop, which is an all natural perfum, with no added fillers, is sooo much better then the original. I will not buy Calivin Klein's version anymore, but the Fragrance shop has been so helpful and has the best customer service! Their version will definitely be a repurchase. But it will last so long, with no chance of the product going bad, so that will not be any time soon!
I have a sample of this in the Fragrance shop "oil of" version, which is a pure perfume, with no unnatural ingredients or fillers, so no headaches here. My favorite scents are classified as floral scents with green notes, so I thought I would try this. Although, not my favorite, I really enjoyed this perfume. It like a whiff of fresh jasmine. That is the note I notice the most. This is a nice light summer scent, at least in the "Oil of" version. Only natural fragrances for me, from now on!
Moisturizers -Desert Essence - Jojoba Oil - 100% pure
twelvepercentt 4/14/2003 11:12:00 PM
This stuff is as great as everyone said it is! But the packaging isn't so great! Not to deter me. When I can afford another Aromaleigh order, I will add to the order (for dirt cheap) a 1/2 cobalt blue glass dropper bottle to put some in. ($2.25, and pretty) This would be a great way to use it for moisturizer. The container as is will be fine for the hot oil scalp treatment, which is much more pleasant then dandruff shampoo a couple times a week.
I alternate this product with T-Gel, as I tend to get dandruff if I don't use a dandruff shampoo at least once a week. I have fine highlighted hair and this works well for me. It doesn't take much, and smells good too.
Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Classic hairspray
twelvepercentt 3/10/2003 11:57:00 AM
I have to disagree. I have been using the Classic hairspray for about a year. It is a comb through hairspray, which does not leave the hair stiff. It has silicone products in it, and my hairdresser and I use it *before* hot rollers and before my straight iron, becasue the silicone makes the flat iron glide easier. I just repurchased the large and the travel size. This is the product in the pink aerosol can. It has never left my hair dry-Good stuff!
Lip Liners -Nat Robbins - Mechanical Lip Liner in Totally Nude
twelvepercentt 3/9/2003 2:01:00 PM
This is a GREAT drugstore find! I really like the fact that this is a mechanical lip liner. I don't need to worry about sharpening while out of the house. This product goes on creamy for a liner, but lasts well. It is the perfect color nude for my PPP/LLL complexion. It goes well with many soft nude and peachy colors.
Okay-This may seem like a silly thing to review, but I really like it. It is really easy to open and close. Tell me I am not the only one that has a hard time starting these things for the first time? But this is just a twist on and off. I HATE the kind that make you waste product by having to press down and turn at the same time! :( But this is real easy-No waste!
Lip Gloss -Victoria Jackson - Lip Gloss Duo - Peach
twelvepercentt 3/3/2003 12:31:00 AM
I have this gloss in the peach duo, but I will have to get the pink as well. The tube has two different colors with a wand at each end. In the tube, the darker color looks like a shimmery peach, and the lighter color looks like a beigy gold. But on my lips, it looks like two different shades of nude. It is a translucent gloss. I like to wear the darker color on my upper lip and my outer lower lip, and the lighter color in the middle of my lower lip. I love this gloss. It’s like a moisturizing lip treatment and feels great on your lips-Good staying power for a gloss. It smells and tastes like a cross between Chai tea and spearmint-very subtle. I will definitely buy this again.
Foundations -Jane Iredale - Pressed Powder in Bisque
twelvepercentt 2/12/2003 7:13:00 PM
Well after reading review where someone purchased from WTF, and was unhappy with the color, I went to the JI site, and found where I could purchase it locally. They happen to sell, at, guess where? My Doctor's office. We put the Bisque and the light beige on my face and went outside to check it in the sunlight. Well the light beige was very pretty, we decided on the Bisque. I have Rosacea, and since the light beige has some pink in it, we thought it would be better to go with the beige, since my skin gets red when I have an outbreak. But both were a good match. I went home and applied it. I also purchased the heavy water to spritz with after. Well this makeup is flawless! You can't even tell I am wearing it, but it gives my skin a nice glow. I will update as I wear it more, and see what kind of comments I get. Now I need to purchase a baby buddha duster.
