Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Synthetic Flat Top Multipurpose Brush

The one on display at target was so soft, so I decided to buy it. I was looking for a backup foundation brush and liked the shape of this one. The quality is very much lacking. It's quite stiff and mildly scratchy, my face becomes irritated while applying the foundation. It doesn't make my foundation look bad or anything but it's too uncomfortable to really use. I've washed it a few times to no avail - the stiffness remains. The harshness of this brush makes it seemingly impossible to use for other purposes. I still keep it because it's kinda costly for a drugstore brush and for the rare times I'd need a backup. Pass if you're thinking about it..

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide on eyeliner in 1999
rated 5 of 5

This liner works GREAT for me. I'm very fair with very green eyes so this compliments me quite well. Glides right on and has decent staying power on the waterline. The sparkle is very very subtle. The brown/purple color is quite pigmented. It's a lighter version of Rockstar, it's what Rockstar should have been. Sadly, it's so creamy that if you used it daily, the pencil would not last long. so I use this sparingly because paying $19 for a single eyeliner is insane. Though this liner is worth it, that's still too much money to pay more than once every few months. I very much recommend if you have a lighter complexion. If you're naturally tan or darker, this won't really work for you..

Lip Gloss -MAC - Boy Bait Cremesheen
rated 5 of 5
turnthisaround 2/5/2012 9:39:00 PM

One of my FAVORITE lip colors that I own. It's a nude with very small hints of pink and purple. Any skin color of any type can wear it. It's creamy and long wearing. It's sticky like all of MAC's lip glosses, so it's just something you have to get use too. Of course, it won't hold up to eating but almost nothing does, or does well. There's literally nothing negative I can say about it. Would highly recommend and will repurchase.

Polishes -Zoya - Yasmeen

AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL COLOR. It's such a dynamic purple. The microshimmer really makes it. Other than that, it's quite awful. It's very goopy, thus making it so hard to apply. The polish never seems to dry, either. I ran my hands under water about an hour later and it started gooping off my nails. Ugh, total crap. I always shake and take great care of my polishes, too. Because of this, I know it's allllll zoya. Would never recommend this.

Polishes -Orly - Galaxy Girl

Great color. It's very unusual and interesting. The pictures shown are very accurate in portraying the color. The polish itself is quite "dry" but easy to apply. Drying time is fantastic as well. Sadly, this simply doesn't last. In under three days, it started chipping, with a top coat. not minor tip wear but chipping as in, "Why is a third of my polish suddenly gone from my finger...?" I have other polishes from this set and they're amazing. I don't understand how some polishes in a set can't all be the same quality. I don't recommend this one at all, despite it's very few positives.

Polishes -Zoya - Sarah
rated 2 of 5
turnthisaround 2/5/2012 9:15:00 PM

This is a beautiful red polish. It appears to be a brighter red in the jar but translates to a deeper, almost retro red on the nails. It's a very versatile color that can be worn on all occasions. The microsparkles are AMAZING in the jar but don't really show up once applied. there's still a shimmer but not as intense as one would think. I was very disappointed to see how watery the formula is. It's quite runny and tricky to paint on. It's opaque in two coats and the drying time is good. Here's the thing; it started PEELING in less than 24 hours. I didn't do ANYTHING. It just doesn't adhere to nails. I woke up and noticed the polish on my thumb starting to peel off. It only worsened from there. With normal daily hand use and...walking around, more of my nails started to simply peel away. I'd expect this kind of worthlessness from a drugstore polish, not from something I paid $8 for. It labels itself as "professional," must be a joke. I paint my nails on a regular basis and don't have problems with polishes sticking to me. Not all of them are winners but this is just pathetic. Unless you only plan to wear this for an hour or two, DO NOT BUY. You'd have better luck with OPI, CG and Orly.

Lipstick -MAC - Rebel Lipstick
rated 5 of 5
turnthisaround 1/17/2012 2:56:00 PM

Honestly, the name of this lipstick brought me in. I tend to shy away from very dark lip colors due to my very fair skin. I could not resist with this one. It's a beautiful dark berry shade that doesn't look jarring at all. I have decently light blonde hair as well and it seems to suit me very well. The color is highly pigmented with fantastic lasting power. It's also very hydrating and leaves a nice bright pink stain after it's gone. Said stain lasted about two days, even washing my face couldn't get it off completely. This is a good thing, to me anyway. It's very different and can be worn during the day with lighter makeup overall, or played up with some eyeliner for night wear. Best of all, different complexions can pull this off easily. The shade is very obvious and in your face, so only try this if that's the kinda thing you're looking for. I would highly recommend and would repurchase.

Lips -Flirt - idol
rated 1 of 5
turnthisaround 1/17/2012 2:49:00 PM

I bought this because I wanted more pinks in my collection. Idol isn't florescent but not a nude, either. It's in between. It can look very teenager, so use it sparingly. It's moisturizing but has literally a negative staying power. within MINUTES of applying, it's fading away. It didn't even last an hour. I timed it. After it's gone, it dried out the corners of my lips SO badly, couldn't smile without it feeling extremely awkward. My lips as a whole were dry but the corners received the most abuse. I have ELF products that out preform this department store piece of crap. never, EVER buy this. I'd return it (I truly don't return or even LIKE to return products) but like an idiot, I threw out the receipt. RUN.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Lady Bug
rated 4 of 5
turnthisaround 1/17/2012 2:42:00 PM

Since I am very fair, most reds are too harsh on me. This one is very retro and suitable for light complexions. It's not berry at all, which I find most "reds" to be nowadays. It's a slightly darker, more pigmented version of a brick red. The color is light enough for day wear paired with a minimal eye look. It can be played up for night time as well. since this is a true red, you have to be very aware of your other makeup. This is a very obvious lipstick and with too much else going on, you'll look like a clown. It would be my ideal red lipstick but the staying power is lacking. I own many other MAC products and their lip ones have AMAZING staying power. For some reason, they skipped lady bug. You feel it fading away minutes after application. It doesn't leave much of a stain, either. It's a damn shame because this is truly such a great color. It's also very hydrating and even after it's faded, my lips don't get chapped. I wouldn't recommend this shade mainly due to it's lack of staying power. you could try it out to explore with shades of red but that's about it. As beautiful as it is, it's useless if it won't stay on your face. I'd use up my tube for sure and I will explore other red shades in MAC that have real lasting ability.

Lipstick -Clinique - Almost Lipstick - Black Honey
rated 2 of 5
turnthisaround 12/10/2011 9:23:00 PM

This would be a great lip stick/gloss if it had any lasting power. Yes, the color is universally flattering on everyone. It does moisturize very well. Thing is, after a few minutes of wear, it starts to disappear. Though my lips didn't get chapped at all, it's pretty insulting to pay $15 for something that's useless. It's not a drugstore lip balm, it's suppose to be a high end product. And reapplying literally constantly is inconvenient, along with ridiculous. this product would be perfect if it bothered to last. There's far too much hype surrounding it and it's meaningless. I'll do my best to use what I have when I won't be out for too long. I would not recommend or repurchase.

Polishes -China Glaze - Lubu Heels
rated 4 of 5
turnthisaround 12/9/2011 2:03:00 AM

I'm very happy to have picked up this polish. It went on kinda dry, as in it would dry almost immediately after you would brush it on your nails and would easily drag. But it was opaque in two coats and in good light, the tiny red sparkles would come through. It's a really great color, black with a nice, noticeable edge. Lasting ability was decent. It went about a week without much damage. Some tip wear but no chipping. After maybe five or six days, it would chip easily. Nothing huge but chips near the cuticle and tip. Removing it is a hassle, like any polish with sparkles. It's very much like sand paper and you have to scrub it off the nail. It is a black type polish so if you feel as though it would be too dark for you, do not get it. It does go with everything and will clash with nothing. If you're looking for something with more depth and wanting to experiment with black polish, this would be great. I will repurchase.

Polishes -OPI - Skull & Glossbones
rated 4 of 5
turnthisaround 11/28/2011 11:57:00 PM

This didn't show up a light grey on me but a very blue toned grey. The application was quite streaky and dragged some. Even after two coats, I still saw the streaks. But the lasting power really really surprised me. It lasted a week with NO chipping and seemingly no wear. It's not easily smudged, either. I work with my hands quite a bit, too. It remained shiny as well. Removing the polish was fantastic, it slid off my nails with no trouble at all. A bit tricky to work with but very much worth it. Also wished the color was more true to the bottle. Other than that, would repurchase. I wish all polishes has the lasting ability as this one!

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Shimmer Lip Gloss Collection
rated 4 of 5
turnthisaround 11/27/2011 5:00:00 AM

I hate ELF but i'm a sucker for their lip glosses. These are not high end, have high pigmentation or will blow you away. For what they are, they're great. the glosses are not gritty at all. They go on very smooth and are sheer. They provide a good tint to the lips. I really love how all the colors are wearable and have fantastic staying power. I can go out for several hours and these won't fade. They're very moisturizing but I can't detect any sparkle on my lips. In the tube, it's everywhere but doesn't transfer onto my lips. I'm a bit disappointed. then again, it's not a huge deal for me. It's amazing how cheap they are, $5 for all of them. the amount of product is almost half of what it would normally be. As long as you wouldn't wear these every single day, they'd last. Do not wear any of these on a night out or a very special event. For casual wear, the glosses are perfect.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Entice lipglass
rated 4 of 5
turnthisaround 11/27/2011 4:48:00 AM

the pigmentation and feel of this gloss is great. It's much more brown that the pictures show. On my fairly pigmented pink/red lips, it came out to be a brown/pink...with much more brown. I liked the color, so that was of no issue. Yes, it's sticky like all MAC glosses. Moisturized my lips and didn't leave them dry after fading. On that note, staying power is terrible. It didn't even last four hours, without eating or drinking. My other glosses from them last twice as long. It's very disappointing and confusing. Who wants to spend that kinda money on a product that won't stay on? Unless you're only going to be out for a short period of time, no point in wearing this. I would not repurchase. I can easily find dupes with real staying power.

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Pots gel eye-liner
rated 4 of 5
turnthisaround 11/27/2011 4:39:00 AM

I have this in bronze and black. honestly, I like bronze much better. Good application, great medium brown with some slight shimmer. Staying power is good and didn't smudge under my eyes during the day. Though upon application, just like the black, it would smudge onto my bottom lid. I don't experience that with many liners so I'm a bit annoyed. The black didn't appear to have as good staying power and smudged under my eyes during the day. The color is very black and generally has a good application. I don't think they're worth their expensive price tag. The amount of product you get is good and you don't need a lot to use. I'm sure they'll last me a very long time but the quality could be better. I'll repurchase bronze for sure and try out their other colors. Don't buy this if you have oily lids, it won't end well. A primer may help but it's not worth the money to find out. If your lids are normal like mine, this will work for you.
