Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - They're Real
truthandtragedy 6/3/2012 11:30:00 AM
I had been a faithful L'Oreal Telescopic girl for a good year or two now, but I had Debenhams Beauty Club card points to spend so I figured I'd invest in a different mascara. Having tried BADgal lash before and not being a fan, I was a little hesitant of trying Benefit mascara again. Safe to say, I was truly proved wrong about them! I love this so much. I have very short and thin lashes and I find it difficult to find a product which lengthens and thickens EACH lash. They're Real does that, right down to the tiny little lashes at the corners of my eyes. The colour is super-black, super-intense and can be buildable to a dramatic, false-lash eye. If I want a more natural look, that's also achievable! I love the brush. It has a sort-of "ball" shape at the end for getting to those little lashes which are hard to reach. I curl my eyelashes first, and then apply this. I haven't had it smudge or flake during the day yet, but I'm going on holiday in September so I'll see how it holds up in the heat then!

Liquid -Clinique - Anti Blemish Solutions Liquid Make Up
truthandtragedy 6/3/2012 11:26:00 AM
I stupidly purchased this online without a colour match - whoops! I opted for shade 02 as I was slightly in denial as to how pale I really am. It was only slightly too dark for me, so I did wear it for around a week before I took myself off to the Clinique counter and got colour matched - turns out I should have got the 01 all along. After using a light coverage foundation for a good few months, this coverage was a little shock to me! It's medium coverage for me and definitely covers up my blemishes and redness which is amazing for me. You don't need to use a lot of it, as a little goes a long way and I love how silky it is on my skin. I have a very oily t-zone which no foundation so far has managed to conquer (except Double Wear, but I wanted something less heavy), and this does a pretty good job of it. I can wear it for a good few hours with minimum shine, but even when the shine does break through, all it needs is a little blot with tissue paper and I'm good to go. I haven't broken out since using this either, which is a huge plus! This is my HG foundation so far, and I can see myself buying it again which I have never done with a foundation yet!

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Nude Hydrating Makeup SPF 10 [DISCONTINUED]
truthandtragedy 6/3/2012 11:18:00 AM
I blame myself for hating this product! It is clearly a hydrating foundation, and I'm of the oily skin variety, so it was bound to end in tears. It's a light coverage foundation and I do love how it looks on my skin directly after applying, but within a few hours my blemishes are visible, the redness in my cheeks has been brought out and my oily t-zone breaks through so badly. I would still use it if I were after a very natural look and I only needed it to last a couple of hours, but for an every foundation this just isn't for me.

Skincare - Face -Liz Earle - Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish

I really wanted to love this, but it just didn't work for me. I loved the smell of it and it did leave my skin feeling clean and smooth, but it broke me out terribly. I continued to use it for about 3 weeks, but I couldn't hack it any more and gave up. My breakouts have since calmed down since I stopped using it so unfortunately, I'm blaming this cleanser for their cause.

Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System
truthandtragedy 6/3/2012 11:15:00 AM
I have used the 3 step system in both version 2 and version 3. I have oily combination skin which starts off quite dry in the morning but gets very oily throughout the day. I also suffer from cystic acne on my chin, but I don't break out anywhere else. Version 2 wasn't right for me at all, but version 3 is just perfect. I've been using it for over a month now and my skin has never been better. I used to use it when I was about 16 but I stopped using it for some reason. The facial soap (oily formula) is perfect for me. It leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh, but not too tight or dry which is often a problem for me. The toner removes any leftover make-up or residue and also seems to lift any dry flakes that I have and leaves my skin so smooth and clean. The dramatically different moisturising gel is my favourite part of the system! It moisturises my skin but DOES NOT leave a film or any greasy residue which is my main concern. It just leaves my skin so smooth and I can't resist feeling my cheeks after I've applied it! I have had a couple of blemishes since using the products, but they clear up much quicker and it also seems to be helping fade the marks left on my chin. I also used to have very red, inflamed-looking cheeks which could only be covered with LOTS of foundation, but since using this they have been completely minimised which I'm so happy about because I love being able to not cake my face in make-up anymore. I will not be leaving my 3-step ever again!
