Crème -Cle de Peau - Teint Naturel Satine Silky Cream Foundation

I wanted to love this after hearing about how great it is. I'm super fair and I10 was the closest match, but it has too much yellow in it for me. It has decent coverage but I didn't see anything incredible-- not enough to warrant the $120 cost, anyway. I mainly need foundation to even out the redness in my face, and this formula didn't reduce redness much. Koh Gen Do foundations have worked well for me, have lighter shades and are half the price, so I'll likely stick with those. I think if you don't have redness and just need the skin tone evened, this will work for you... but not if you're super fair or dark.

Previous review is correct: it's very youthful. But I'm 40 now and I've had my time with the young scents and I'm ready to move on to something a bit more... not what I wore in high school or college. It's hard to find the balance between high school and old lady! It's a pretty scent though. Clean, fun and feminine. But on me it gets a bit sharp and before long I feel beginnings of a headache. Bummer, because it's not a bad scent. I would consider it more if it didn't have the sharp burst to it.

When I first sniffed in Sephora, I wasn't keen. Just didn't seem too special to me. But for whatever reason I kept sniffing it any time I was in the store. I'm using a spray sample for now and leaning towards full bottle when finances allow. I detect floral of course but don't get the grassiness much, thank maude, because I hate grassy scents. It's not as strong/sharp as I thought it would be, and that's good! It's got depth and I wouldn't mind it for a cool weather scent. On me it gets more feminine and a bit powdery, which I like. And holy crap, the bottle is absolutely gorgeous! I'm one of those sorts who likely won't even sniff something from an ugly bottle (I know, I'm a superficial turd).

Mascara -LUSH - Eyes Right Mascara
rated 3 of 5
trishcat 10/18/2012 7:03:00 PM

I am a LUSHie and nearly crapped myself when I heard about their MU line. I have sensitive eyes and use eyedrops multiple times a day. I need a mascara that makes my lashes thicker/longer, has staying power and doesn't burn my eyes. I hoped to all things holy that this product would work for me. Alas, it does not. As others have mentioned, the wand absolutely sucks. It is way too short and I can't really get to the base of my lashes with it-- and I have rather small hands. The formula is OK. Goes on pretty wet. Maybe it's due to the wand but I got some clumping and my lashes didn't look thicker or longer. By the end of my work day it's smudged a bit and is about gone from my lashes. It doesn't irritate my eyes, which is great, but otherwise it's a lame mascara. I'm hoping LUSH will heed customer feedback about the crappy wand and re-design the otherwise cool packaging. Going back to my old reliable, Bobbi Brown No Smudge.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser
rated 3 of 5

I had decent skin (lucky genes) but I turned 40 this year and my face turned 13. Zits and irritation. It was nuts. Feeling desperate, I ordered some Tata Harper products. As some have mentioned, this line is quite heavily scented, but I really don't think that is what irritated my skin (a rarity for someone with sensitive, reactive skin). I will say it's a good quality cleanser. Unfortunately all the plant-based ingredients did not make my skin happy. I am allergic to trees and ragweed, and some plants (chamomile for one) mimics ragweed. The all-natural aspect does pull me in, but as a facialist friend of mine said, poison ivy is natural too but no way would I slather that on my face! After two weeks I didn't really get acne anymore, but I did get red scaly patches on my nose and forehead. :( I really think some of the plant ingredients set my skin off. If you don't have allergies, this may work for you. Fortunately TH allows returns within 30 days.

Fragrances -Annick Goutal - eau d'Hadrien

A great warm weather scent. It's lemony for sure but not in a silly plasticky way. It settles into my skin and stays for the day (I have the EdP, the EdT doesn't have staying power on me). Husband loves it on me, and he is picky about perfumes. It's not super sweet, which is such a great change for citrus scents. Spraying it on as I get dressed in the morning helps wake me up, for real. Tonight I was doing laundry and got a whiff of it in a cardigan I wore the other day. I kept sniffing the cardigan!

Styling Products -Sexy Hair Concepts - Big Sexy Hair - What a Tease - Backcomb in a Bottle

The other reviews persuaded me to give this one a try, and y'all were spot on! This does wonders for my fine, wavy hair. It gives lift and volume that STAYS. This is the only stuff that survives a day at work and doesn't fall flat on me in an hour. It's not as sticky/heavy as I thought it would be. I love that I can use this and the SHC volumizing gel and that's it.

Styling Products -Sexy Hair Concepts - Big Sexy Hair - Volumizing Gel

This. Is. Awesome. If you have fine, wavy hair that falls flat in an hour, this is the gel for you. It's not sticky or goopy. It brings out the wave in my hair and gives it a bit of volume on top. I can brush through my hair with no problem. Absolute holy grail. My hair is 100x more manageable and able to style with this stuff. My hair is chin length with bangs and it only takes a dime-size drop. The manufacturers of this deserve a reward.

Shampoo -LUSH - Antiphilitron
rated 5 of 5
trishcat 1/13/2012 12:18:00 PM

Bought sight unseen since it's a retro product, and glad I did! Love the lemon scent! I use it several times a week and it's great with my fine hair and oily scalp (I color my hair too). I use this with Veganese and it's just right... my hair is so shiny and clean! It's a miracle for me to find something that smells lovely and gets the oil out without stripping/drying my hair. The lemon scent isn't super strong but it's enough to help wake me up in the morning! I hate that it was made Retro... I hope to all things holy that LUSH doesn't permanently discontinue it, which as far as I know, they aren't.

Mascara -Bobbi Brown - No Smudge Mascara
rated 4 of 5
trishcat 1/11/2012 11:15:00 AM

I have corneal dystrophy and chronic dry eye. I have to use eye drops constantly. Like every hour. This is the only mascara that will withstand it. Every other waterproof mascara I've used (and I've tried 'em ALL) eventually disappeared, smudged, or got into my eyes and burned. I gave it 4 lippies because I do wish it made my lashes thicker. I love the length it gives and it colors my pale lashes nicely. Given its staying power and the overall good job it does, I'm sticking with this.

Masks -LUSH - Catastrophe Cosmetic
rated 5 of 5
trishcat 11/21/2011 12:31:00 PM

My #1 fave LUSH mask! I have combination skin that is way sensitive (dermatitis). This stuff gets the crap out of my pores and does not irritate or burn sensitive spots. I don't use it as often as I should, but I try to use it once a week. The cold mask hitting your face is a bit of a shock at first but it feels awesome. It doesn't overly dry anything out and my face is glowy afterwards. If other LUSH masks haven't worked for you because of sensitive skin, give this one a try. I know Oatifix is made for sensitive skin, but I found it did almost nothing for my nose/chin, where I'm super oily. CC is as gentle as Oatifix but gets the job done.

Fragrances -Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier Perfumes - Eau De Camelia Chinois
rated 4 of 5

I'm also baffled by the negative reviews. I'm certainly not reminded of urinal cakes either-- not that I go around sniffing them, mind you. I've gone back and forth with EdCC for awhile now. A few years back it seemed too proper-ish for me. Maybe it's due to getting older, but I find it so elegant and pretty without being stuffy. It's a grown-up perfume but not something my 68-year-old mother would wear. I love its lasting power, though it takes a bit for the scent to settle into my skin. Once I get past that, I'm in love. It's a touch sweet but not sickening; and I love it despite being a girl who does NOT like sweet. Some detect a grassy note but I don't. It's got a blend of floral, skin and soapiness, and somehow it all balances out. It's a lovely feminine scent that doesn't hit people over the head. My husband loves it on me, and he's a guy who wouldn't care if I never wore MU or shaved my pits again. :) It's pricey for sure, but often there's cheaper prices on eBay. And given its concentration a bottle will last forever. I love having a scent that isn't easily available in every department store but also isn't impossible to find.

Fragrances -Chanel - Coco Mademoiselle
rated 2 of 5
trishcat 10/12/2011 11:18:00 PM

Le sigh. I want to like this. I'm looking for a fall/winter scent and tried a sample I had laying around. It started out lovely and a bit heady, but I figured that would pass. Nope. On me, it got spicier and thicker, reminding me somewhat of CK's Obsession. Despite one tiny spray on one wrist, I began to feel enveloped in the scent. My husband, who liked the scent, began to sneeze. I finally had to scrub it off. Au revoir, mademoiselle.
