Lips -Hard Candy - World Balmination Glossy Tinted Lip Balm
trinityblade24 11/16/2011 5:33:00 PM
So I finally found my HG lip product!!! I am someone who is always on the go, so I prefer swiping some chapstick stuff on my lips while running around. However, I do like to have *some* color on my lips. I find lipsticks too drying and pigmented to use without a mirror. Lipgloss is too sticky and goopy and lasts two seconds, and certain lip tints are either uncomfortable to put on, actually have too much color and/or leave a weird white line on my lips as the day wears on. Enter World Balmination...they smell divine, go smoooooth on my bare lips (and no nasty white line!), are moisturizing, no glitter, and offer the right amount of sheer color without needing a mirror. The colors I have: Bridal blush: Pale nude Good girl: Peachy neutral Fishnet: Strawberry pink Lovestruck: Bubblegum pink Vampire Bite: Raspberry red I love every single one of these! They are very sheer but I can still detect the different colors on my very pigmented rosy lips because they also act as a stain that sinks into the skin to create a hybrid color. So if you like bold, creamy, opaque color coverage, don't bother with this product, it's not for you. This is for those natural-look gals who just want a small boost from the regular old chapstick routine. My only gripe is the packaging, the product doesn't twist all the way down, but I'm pretty coordinated so it isn't a big deal for me. I love this stuff so much that I got duplicates of all my colors!!!

Cleansers -Aura Cacia - Grapeseed Oil
trinityblade24 11/11/2011 5:43:00 PM
This has done wonders for the tone, clarity, and softness of my facial skin. I have acne prone, oily skin and am on prescription retinoids. The retinoids made my skin irritated and dry and peeling, and other moisturizers could not combat that. But using GSO, all of that has changed and my skin is clear, soft, radiant, and glowing! What I do is after I apply my retinoid at night, I massage in a pea sized drop of GSO on my face...the key is not to put too much or it will be too slick. Just enough to get a fine layer of moisture in. In the morning I just rinse my face off with warm water, and I look as if I just had a facial! I don't bother with washing and moisturizing again, just slap on sunscreen and my makeup and I'm out the door. The real trick with GSO and I'm sure any other oils, is not to use so much...this has never broken me out, and GSO is so good for the skin, it's full of good fatty acids and micronutrients, as grapeseeds are full of nutrition (seeds after all, are meant to grow new plants).

Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - Latisse Lash Growth Drops
trinityblade24 1/3/2011 5:32:00 PM
*Sigh*...First and foremost, Latisse does work. My lashes are average length, thickness, and a soft black color. I got my prescription from my dermatologist, and I applied it once a day only to the upper lash line. I did not use the applicators, rather I put one drop in the cap and used a clean ultra-thin eyeliner brush to line both eyes (which makes one bottle last at least 2+months), as close to the root of the lash as possible. I did have a little irritation and redness of the eyeball, but it went away within the first 2 weeks. After a full solid 2 months of use, my lashes were long enough to hit my brows, the base hairs were thicker, and the hair color was deepening to a richer black...unfortunately, that was not the only thing that was darkening. My eyelids also darkened...from my lashline to just under my browbone, the skin deepened in color, a brownish tinge (I'm NC35). Also, where I've been applying the Latisse, right at the root of the hairs, a line of purplish-red developed. I was aware that this could happen, I just didn't know to what extent. My goal of using this product was so that I didn't have to wear mascara...and I didn't have to, but in exchange I had to put on eye shadow and liner (which I do not wear on a daily basis) to camouflage the pigmentation. So I guess one effect cancelled out the other. Needless to say, I have stopped using this product for 2 weeks now, and all ready my eyelids have almost returned to its pre-Latisse color (thank god!). My lashes are slowly going back to its original state as well. I will not bash this product...the side effects are clearly stated. For those people who don't experience them, I do envy you. And for those who can tolerate the side effects, I envy you too. But for me the risks out weigh the benefits.

Fragrances -Philosophy - Amazing Grace cologne
trinityblade24 11/23/2010 7:13:00 PM
I love this perfume! I wore it to work one day, and I couldn't believe the comments I was getting! "Ooooooh, someone smells really good!" "Oh my god, you smell delicious, what are you wearing!" "Wow, your hair smells amazing!" "What are you wearing and where can I get it!" From both men and women!!! I have NEVER received a reaction like that to any other fragrance...hell, I never received a reaction EVER. Maybe it just morphs really well on my skin, but either way, this one's a keeper!

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam IV
trinityblade24 11/18/2010 5:34:00 PM
In my entire life, I never wore lipstick. The only thing I would put on my lips was chapstick or the occasional sheer tinted gloss. I always found lipstick drying, tasting bad, and I never found a color that looked good on me...too cool, too red, too pink, too orange, too brown...you get the idea. After seeing photograph after photograph of myself looking "au natural" (in a lackluster, blah sort of way), I said enough! I need to find something to kick it up a notch but still keep my "natural" look intact. Enter MAC VG IV. I thought I hated frost. I thought I hated red. I thought I hated pink. Out of all the colors out there, this is the ONE. Go figure. I was skeptical at first. It looked to dressy, to edgy, too glittery, too scary for my boring butt. After trying all the "safe" colors and finishes (neutral, beigy, sheer), I thought I would try VG IV just for gits and shiggles... Something amazing happened. I put it on and...my face glowed. My eye color perked up. My complexion radiated health. My lips were full of color and shine and yet nothing screamed "you're wearing lipstick!" I have dark brown/black hair, brown eyes, NC35 skin. On me, it actually functions like a natural lip color, just punched up a notch. The frost finish is not reminiscent of the 70's, but a subtle gold flecked sparkle that makes my lips look healthy, and compliments my yellow toned skin. The color, a rosy, pinky, reddish, berry, is only a few degrees deeper/brighter than my own lips. There is no scent. There is no taste. I can wear this during the day over some balm and it goes on sheer, or layer it thicker with liner at night. Either way, the effect is the same: it's a more radiant, healthier, "natural" me. Is it possible for a lipstick to be this amazing? HG status!!!!

Moisturizers -Biore - Nourish Moisture Lotion SPF 15
trinityblade24 11/4/2010 7:39:00 PM
I find this lotion works best under a long-wearing, transfer resistant foundation such as Revlon Colorstay, Rimmel 25 hour, EL Doublewear, etc...If you use it under a regular foundation, the result is a shiny face. However, given the drying nature of long-wearing foundations, and the slickness of this lotion, the resulting combo is a soft, dewey, naturally radiant finish. For you matte-girls out there, this will not be the lotion for you! I even mix this with my longwearing foundation and get a great longwearing tinted lotion. It also smells nice and has a medium-thin consistency which makes it easy to blend in. And for the winter, the spf 15 is appropriate and it gives enough moisture for my oily skin against the drying wind and indoor heating. So I think this lotion will satisfy only a narrow range of people; if you have oily skin, own long-wearing foundation, prefer the dewey look, and get winter weather, then you might like this.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Colorstay 12-Hour eyeshadow quad- Copper Spice
trinityblade24 11/4/2010 7:10:00 PM
I never wore eyeshadow everyday until I found this product! The colors and finish are great. Copper spice has enough color to give my eyes a subtle extra "something" on a daily basis, but can be layered on stronger for special occasions. It also does not irritate my eyes, and lasts an 8 hour day with a primer. Very good product!!!

Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation
trinityblade24 10/29/2010 9:35:00 PM
Finally! A reasonably priced, long lasting foundation! I work in an operating room and there is nothing more embarassing than taking off my face mask and finding a coating of foundation on the inside for everyone to see. I was a big user of Revlon Colorstay, but I didn't like the pumpless bottle, the undertone colors never really matched my skin that well (medium, yellow, golden...my veins are emerald green!), and I found it pricey for ds makeup. Rimmel's 25 hour has a nice, neat squeeze tube, quite a few of their shades have a yellow base to them ( I have Nude), it's a nice rich consistency but not gloppy, blends well, and cost me $5.47 for a full ounce. But best of all...it does not rub off on my face mask!!! It stays put from morning to evening (12hr shift), even though I have very oily skin. So my guess is that this stuff should last just as long on the skin for those who don't wear masks all day!!! Will definately buy again!

Concealers -Revlon - Age Defying Moisturizing Concealer (New) [DISCONTINUED]
trinityblade24 10/29/2010 9:11:00 PM
This is an excellent concealr! It has a smooth texture, not to thin, not too thick. I have mild to moderate darkness around my eyes, and this concealer covers it up with one light coat. I have the medium/deep shade, and I actually use this to conceal the redness around my nose, cheek, and chin area...and no breakouts to be seen! This also lasts all day, even with my oily skin. The spf added is perfect, as I hate putting regular sunscreen too close to my eyes. I you find a color that works for you, I suggest giving this product a try!

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Individualist Natural Finish Makeup [DISCONTINUED]
trinityblade24 9/16/2007 11:24:00 AM
After years of using drugstore foundation I finally bit the bullet and spent the $32.50/ 1oz. for this foundation...and it is the best $32.50 I have ever spent!!!! My specs: Ethnicity: half Filipino, half India-indian Skin color: medium Skin tone: yellow, yellow, yellow!!! MAC color: NC40 Skin type: oily and acne prone if I slack off in my skin care routine Since I was a teen, I've been using drugstore foundation because I didn't want to spend the money...however every single DS foundation brand (Cover Girl, Revlon, Almay, you name it) is just too pink or neutral. Even the rare yellow-toned ones weren't yellow enough. Now that I'm in my 20's I said enough is enough and I went to the Estee Lauder counter because they were having a special sale. The SA gave me a sample of Individualist in 3W1 Cashew and after wearing it for two weeks, I was hooked!!! Cashew is actually yellow enough to match my skin perfectly. It gives me a natural, flawless look, melts into my skin to cover red marks, pores, acne, and dark spots. It doesn't dry out my skin like oil control versions do, and it doesn't make me break out (unlike the MAC samples I tried). The color stays true and doesn't turn dark or orange as time goes by. Plus it lasts a good 8-10 hours and it rinses cleanly and completely at the end of the day unlike long-wearing foundations (hello Colorstay!!!). AND there's no SPF so I can wear my sunscreen underneath that's good for ME, and I won't have that super chalky sheen from SPF overload. The packaging too is great...plastic squeeze bottle...so it's break-proof and hygenic. And there's no smell...another plus. What more could you ask for??? After cleansing and moisturizing, I apply Individualist not with a foundation brush but with a medium sized POWDER brush. I lighly coat the bristles with makeup then gently roll the brush on my face, stippling and rolling to blend. I find this deposits a sheer wash of color rather than heavy streaks like a foundation brush can do. Once I'm done applying, I take the same brush and very lighly buff over my skin to blend, almost like "air-brushing". The result is soft, natural, diffuse, and stays put just like second skin (no creasing, melting, flaking, pooling)...I don't even use powder, and all that is needed is one or two blotting papers (depending on the weather) to eliminate shine. And all I end up using is one small pea sized drop. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good yellow-toned, natural feeling, good coverage, oil-free, non-comedogenic foundation. =-)

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin
trinityblade24 7/24/2006 3:32:00 PM
Out of all the foundation brands and formulas i have tried, i keep comming back to revlon's colorstay line. i loved thier original colorstay natural, and even though it's discontinued, i love their new softflex line. it gives me buildable coverage, the shades work for me, it covers my pores, redness, dark circles and stays on all day through heat, humidity, sweat, and oily skin. i apply it with a damp makeup sponge and it melds into my skin and doesn't feel or look like i'm wearing anything...it just looks like i have even toned, smooth skin, and i've gotten numberous compliments about it. i was disappointed that they don't have the pump packaging, but luckily i saved two pump bottles from the colorstay natural line, so i just pour the softflex into those. i hope revlon never discontinues the colorstay foundations. this is my HG!!!

Powder -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation
trinityblade24 7/24/2006 3:18:00 PM
i've been using this foundation for about 3 weeks now, and it isn't bad, but i'm not crazy about it...i guess i'm in the minority. the color selection is great, i found one that matched me really closely. the coverage is pretty good, it evened out my skin well but it didn't cover my pores as i'd hoped. i've been using the correct technique and tried different brushes but i find that this foundation sort of sits on top of my skin instead of melting into it, and because of that, i can feel it on my face all day which drives me crazy. and trying to use this to cover a zit doesn't work too well, even using a concealer brush. overall, i think this is a good foundation, but it just isn't for me.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Stay Natural Makeup
trinityblade24 6/25/2005 4:53:00 PM
This foundation is a must have for those with oily skin! It's very natural looking and the coverage can be built up from sheer (if mixed with moistuizer) to medium-full. The shade medium beige (w/yellow undertones) is a perfect match for my summer tanned skin. It feels light and breathable on my skin, even in humid weather, not heavy and suffocating. Lasted all day, kept oilies at a minimum with no blotting, and looks and feels like second skin. My HG foundation for summer!!!

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Naturally Smooth Shave Minimizing Moisturizer
trinityblade24 4/9/2005 4:47:00 PM
My HG moisturizer!!! This is one of the few products I've tried that actually works!! It provides light moisture, which is fine for me since my legs aren't all that dry to begin with. But I really wanted it for the hair minimizing properties. I have coarse hair on my legs which always leads to razor burn and folliculitis. After using this stuff religiously for 8 weeks, my hair is softer, finer and the razor burn and folliculitis is non-existent. I highly recommend this lotion, and I hope Jergen's keeps this one forever!!!

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Honey Kiss
trinityblade24 1/29/2004 10:13:00 PM
I have these in Honey Mocha and Latte Honey. Both are excellent!!! The smell is amazing and the color is perfect!!! Shiney and sheer with a hint of color to enhance the lips. And they last a decent amount of time for a gloss. These are my HG of lip gloss!!! Just beware of Honey Berry. It has a really cool lilac tint to it, but the smell is awful!!! Kind of like fake berry bubblegum, really cloying and headache inducing. I actually had to return it cuz of the smell. Too bad, since the color was really cool. If BB can make Berry smell like Mocha, it would be another winner!!!
